TV & Film What are the most cancerous fandoms you have ever seen?

Implying that it's only half.
Well.... perhaps 'section' or 'part' would be more appropriate than 'half'? Not all of the SU fans are bad, but I don't want to try going into semantics on just how much of that particular fandom is cancerous. Trying to dive into the depths in order to estimate the amount is just going to end up giving me cancer.

I'd say being super generous 90%. Maybe 95 or more.

MLP fanbase

Story time!
I have been living with my niece for most of her life (She's already 7 years old), basically more of a father than her actual father. Obviously this meant taking care of her so one way or another we would end up watching the show she likes on the tv. There were some show that made me want to pull of my hair because of how dull they were (Im looking at you, Curious George) and others that had me worried because of what I had heard of them like MLP... but the last one wasn't that bad. The characters were simple but not boring like in other kid shows and I got to admit that the plot of some episodes was actually interesting, completly different from what I was expecting. It really made me wonder why a normal show like that has such a disgusting fanbase.

From my experience on roleplaying sites and in certain Discord chats, probably MLP and that country-based anime. Mostly 'cause they seem to always put stuff like *rawrs quietly* into EVERY other thing they say, and it annoys me to no end. It's so cringey.

I stumbled across an iCarly fanfiction site in a dark corner of the internet, once. Barely made it out alive.

Anything with the word "rawr" takes me back to, like, 2008, which is just a place I never want to be taken back to.

Undertale. I should know, I was once in the fandom, and I left once it was declared dead. however, some undertale peeps still cling on, making it seem like a masterpiece when it's really just another indie rpg.

The Voltron fandom makes me sad. They're incredibly aggressive when it comes to their ships and headcanon and they've bullied people out of their art (drawing or writing) on many occasions. I don't get how a fandom so small could survive to be so toxic. It's such a good show too! And the VAs are great sports... Just ugh.

On the bright end of things, the FFXV fandom is amazing. They're all so chill and just super thirsty and it's all good! Haha

Man, I wish I had gone into detail about my thoughts. When you're so aggressive that you blackmail the writers to make your ship cannon, then you have problems. When you tell people how disgusting they are for drawing kallura art, then you have problems. They are so desperate for a gay couple, not saying that there shouldn't be one, but you can't be vindictive and aggressive about it.

Steven universe, Undertale and Rick & Morty.
I think those 3 can share the Spot 1 as the most Toxic fandoms (imo)

I hate to say it but… Sherlock and Harry Potter. Not to say that I dislike Sherlock and Harry Potter, I love them. But the fandoms Can be so awful!

Rick and Morty, hands down. I loved the show, and still do, it’s just that the fandom made it such a cringy interest with all the “Oh it’s a smart show, you gotta be smart to understand. Those smeepsmoorps just don’t understand how deep it is.” And then there’s the fucking merch

I mean, what the actual fuck? A kid literally wore this to school today. Uggh!

I started watching R&M lately and I have a mixed opinion. I like the animation quality but honestly Rick is such a dislikable character. He's such an annoying nihilist which helps me start to understand why 14 y/o edgelords revere him as Christ the Lord.
A letter from your friendly, neighborhood Kapkan. • r/Rainbow6

Kapkan mains like me cry at the sight of this, so called, Kapkan 'main'.
I swear to God ubisoft doesn't play test their own game.
They buffed blitz of all people.
Now he's the Ubermensch and nobody can stop him.

Tbh Sonic, FNAF and Undertale. Sonic was inevitable but FNaF and Undertale were semi-decent until the kids got their hands on it and made a cesspool of cringe. FNaF has been dragged out for long enough, they need to let it die.

You have not stared into the depths of darkness until you find the abyss of the Steven Universe fandom. The abyss where only the most ghastly are welcome.

Homestuck fans. Well....The Fanatical ones. I am a BIG, and I mean BIG hussie fan but some of these people make the rest of us look bad -_-
Anyone else who works Anime Cons like I do can tell you horror stories.

You wanna make Con staff cringe and scream in rage? Just ask them if they ever ran into a bucket. >_> I suggest backing away very quickly afterwards.

I could easily say something like Undertale, FNaF, or more recently Bendy and the Ink Machine, or Cuphead. But I'll take a different route.

The Elder Scrolls Fandom. The lore community in particular. Kirkbride worshipers if I get 'really' specific.
