In Game

U'ldean continued to smile as the questions began to fly at him from each of the group members. Though, each question was targeted to one specific thing. So, U'ldean began to pull on his whiskers as he thought for a moment. He then moved back over to the podium and tapped on the concealed screen before returning to the group. Roslyns final addition to the single question seemed more direct, and it caught U'ldeans attention.

"The Tumal have been known to speak to a multitude of Koiple, not just the Magistrate. In fact, that is how our Tribute ceremony comes about, when they speak to someone outside of The Magistrate. The Tumal speak to The Magistrate in a multitude of ways. Sometimes they send us visions, sometimes they speak plainly, and sometimes it will be more cryptic like riddles or song. But whenever one of our kind hears the voices of the Tumal, it is time for the Tribute Ceremony."

U'ldeans smile never wavered, and at the end of his answer, he looked up towards where H'ma and the guard were stationed, and nodded to them. The guard did not hesitate at all and turned to the doors behind him. He opened it and, six more guards entered from the hallway beyond. The guards moved in unison, as four of the six continued down the steps to stand at either side of the pew that the group was situated within. The other two moved along the back wall to the other sets of doors, and each locked the door behind them and stood before them to prevent anyone from leaving.

Before the group could begin to get panicked, U'ldean reached over towards the podium and tapped the screen once, and then walked to the edge of the stage.
"Do not be alarmed my friends, we merely wish for you not to harm yourselves during the event. The ceremony has been known to cause unnecessary harm to the more, fanatical, individuals. But I can assure you that none of you will be harmed. One of your friends has been chosen by the Tumal, this is a joyous occasion! He will be transcending this world to walk among the Tumal for the rest of eternity!"

As U'ldean spoke, the golden curtains behind him began to wave as if air had begun to move. The subtle soft whirring of machinery could be heard as things began to move behind, and once U'ldean had finished, the curtains had begun to part. The machinery was nothing that had ever been scene before. Large and mostly white, it had smooth surfaces and panels that hid the majority of the underlying machinery from sight. It rose like a hill from the stage, complete with subtle curves and crevasse from paneling. At the top rising from the machinery, was a table within a glass dome. The table began to tilt forward so that the group could see what, or in this case who, was atop the table. Bindings on the wrists, feet, torso, and neck would keep him from moving had he been conscious. But his scaly lids remand closed even as the machinery came to a jolting stop, displaying Tibs to the nearly empty auditorium.

Cael moved the crystal around in his hand over and over again. He had seen lots of different crystals in the galaxy, but this was something special. Where most had flat sides that ended in points, these where somewhat ovular in shape and were rounded all the way around. They looked like giant fat water drops almost, and when Cael looked closely, the color variation within them almost looked like energy was trapped inside trying to force its way out.

Cael returned the gem to the chest and looked at Artemis as she told him about being followed back on Cardeleon. That was certainly unnerving to know that someone had been following the group members on a planet Cael had assumed to be safe. But after the jump they made into uncharted space, Cael would be shocked to find anyone here who knew there names. But before he could respond to her lament, Cael heard the com link built into his arm open up. The technology in his arm was a bit better than the com links themselves. the only real advantage Cael had was being able to adjust frequencies, which he began doing as soon as he heard Glo'cer's voice.

"Robots at ship? What tha hell does that...."
Cael's question about Glo'cers message was cut short by Artemis calling to him from the window. He instinctively grabbed the blaster at his side and lifted it from its holster. As he reached the window, Cael's grip tightened on the gun. Koiple guards had entered into the hangar, more than originally planned. By each set of hangar doors, one in each cardinal direction, stood a pair of guards each sporting a large halberd. The one guard, Drini, was still standing by himself before the ship with his own large halberd like weapon drawn. Cael could feel his teeth grinding against one another as he swore lightly and turned to Artemis.

"Shit, looks like the honeymoon is over. Not sure what they got planned, but it doesn't look like they want us goin no where. We can't use the ships guns till we get some fuel, the back up battery for the guns got drained in the jump. So we are on our own here."
Cael made a quick glance at his arms panel and hit the com button.
"Guys, Artemis and I are pinned down in the Hangar. Doesn't look like they want us going anywhere anytime soon. Whats going on down there??"

Nu listened attentively to his answers, finding that they fell neatly into place alongside her own knowledge. Now, more than ever, she found herself certain of the connection between the Tumal and the Krasic. Her excitement faded to a feeling of calm acceptance, as everything was as it should be.
That is, until the "Tribute Ceremony" was announced, and the guards took up positions about them. Her stomach dropped in the way it always did when it seemed she was trapped, and her eyes narrowed on U'ldean. Something was very swiftly going wrong here..
He assured them it was for their safety, but she had never associated "safe" and "trapped" before and she wasn't about to start now. The spikes along her spine slowly rose as things on the stage began to move. The table tipped slowly, and their stow-away lizard appeared lifeless strapped to it.
Nu let out a low growl and her lip slowly curled to reveal her teeth. An old voice rang through her mind, saying in her native tongue, no living being need be harmed for the glory of the holy.
Her mother, explaining the ways of the Kryx when she was but a Kryxling. She still held herself to this belief, and this... ceremony was sickening her to the bone. Nu's tail lashed back and forth, and she had a moment to wonder if this feeling was anger before she said loudly, "No living being need be harmed for the glory of the holy, no bound for that matter. This is a perversion of the sacred. You are not devout followers of the holy, you are nothing but evil falsehoods, frauds, liars of the lowest kind." While she did not shout, her words dripped with enough venom to kill.Cael's voice fell on deaf ears as her body tensed to make an attack.
And yet,she made no move to stop them; her heart longed to know how Tibs would join the Tumal, because, after all.. what if the Ky-sira was here, and need only be brought back to Via to reunite the Krasic and Kryx?

Rosalyn watch U'ldean with a raised eyebrow as he went and towards the podium again and for odd reason tapped on it. A chill went down her spine as the elder Koiple started talking about a tribute and the many ways the Tumal communicate. Her mind went back to the voices she had begun to hear when arriving on this planet. She should have known something was up when that happened. The next thing she knew there were guards filling in to the room as U'ldean continued talking about one of them being a tribute. Rosalyn's eyes narrowed not at all liking where this was going. Her mind didn't even try to process the machinery in front of her only the fact that their scaly 'friend' was in it.Rosalyn's body instantly crystalized as she shot out of her chair. "You are messing with the wrong people old fish!" She yelled. Rosalyn heard Nu next to her calling them false followers. She couldn't even begin to compare them to anything. Her people weren't known to worship any gods.

When her com sparked to life her body tensed up for she had forgotten she was wearing it. "
Nothing good. They have our scaly friend strapped to a machine. Saying he is to walk among the Tumal." Rosalyn began to speak obscenities in her native tongue before speaking again. "They have us blocked in." Rosalyn believed they could break out if they wanted to but then who knew what was beyond those doors at this moment. Instead of taking the offensive like she normally would she stood in wait, trying to watch their movements. They were on a strange new planet so she didn't know what to expect form these people if she made anymore movement.

Glo'cer watched U'ldean closely as the choice of words he used put him on edge. All of this was set up too well to just be a normal meeting. With the voice in his head and the fact they were stranded on an uncharted planet, he knew things were going to get difficult very fast. As the man spoke what he could, Glo'cer didn't like the answers. There was no real answer to the tribute detail. Merely what starts it. In the back of his mind, he wondered if he was now hearing the Tumal. Was this the sensation that the Koiple felt when this ghostly noise entered their mind? He didn't like this place. He began backing away from the center.

He didn't make it very far once his head started burning. Not from a headache but a literal burning feeling. Like something was melting in the front of his brain cranium. The ceremony has begun, all hail the Tu.. Is what he heard before it got cut off. At first he didn't know if it was the pain he was in that didn't let him hear the rest but he soon realized the connection was broken. He heard a small slapping sound on the ground. He split two of his fingers that were holding his face and saw the communication snail dead on the floor. With a small groan, he sluggishly continued to the elevator only to see more guards present. Stopping quickly, he looked back to see the display taking place. Seeing the stowaway chained up sent a shiver down his spine. Were they all going to end up like this? While everyone else had their own abilities more centered around fighting and dealing with people up close, Glo'cer was at a loss here. He had no real defenses in his current state.

All he could do was stand there and listen to Nu rant off about how these people were a bunch of hoax. While he agreed with her, he still needed to find a way out. They needed, and more importantly he needed, to get back to the ship. All he could really do was rework the elevator to send them on the right path if it was locked down. For that, he would need the others to fend the guards off. To be honest, with the amount of guards here, it appeared to be easy. After all they did escape the largest Dorogan ship out there. Not to mention the amount of guards posted there. As he waited for the others to make their move, the wrist comm came to life. Hearing how things were no better near the ship made his chest sink. As much as he hated to think it, he couldn't really get off this planet without the others.
What Rosalyn said. Cael, please advise me of the situation the ship is currently in. I take it they haven't really fixed anything?

Perhaps Artemis would have to wait till later to talk to Cael about the strange stalking problem she had.... as, to no surprise, the 'robots' in Glocer's warning came into view as soon as she looked out the nearest window. At each of the exits in the hangar, guards now stood blocking their way out with their weapons drawn, waiting for the two. Essentially they were trapped and there were only so many ways to go down in such a situation. Gratefully, Cael's quiet string of curses spoke helped to de-stress the cyborg ever so slightly. Afterall, his little verbal reaction spoke for the both of them as she remained silent, eyes searching, brows furrowed and lips set in a thin line.

As the cyborg continued to survey the situation, Cael called in to the others' commlinks in the hopes of getting a read on the situation on their side. From the messages that came back to them from the other teammates, it was clear that they were all in quick sticky situations. In their case, one of their teammates sounded like he was to be sacrificed and Artemis face fell at the knowledge that it was Tiberius. Things were just getting better and better weren't they?

"Guess we really are on our own then..." Artemis murmured as she backed away from the window and out of view of any of the guards. Once she was in a safe spot, the cyborg pulled out a band so that she could pull her hair back into a pony tail. There was a 99.65% chance that they were going to go down fighting. It was time to get down to business. (que Eye of the Tiger music)

While Cael was busy with the commlink and the rest of the messages, she got to work mapping out their choices in their situation.
"We have two options to choose from: we fight or we surrender, " she started off, "surrendering would be easier and less painful, but it would guarantee us a spot on the sacrificial platter next to the Gehhenian." Drawing her sword, Artemis activated the plasma edge as it illuminated the dimly-lit room, debating whether she would knock out or kill. "The other option, which I am guessing you would prefer, is going down guns a blazing. Though personally, I wouldn't go out.... there's too much distance to cover and we could get encircled before we even land a hit. Chances are we might have an advantage over them in a terrain we known which is the Odyssey. "

Taking a moment to think, Artemis decided to fight to kill. They weren't in any position to take many prisoners anyway. And besides, the Koiples who wanted to sacrifice them like animals should die like animals.
"After all, if they want us, then by all means," the cyborg glanced upwards, a new fire in her eyes, "come and get us."

Larassa Commission.png
Name: Larassa Sovna Alias: Raven
Race: Siklaid Home Planet: Sikla
Occupation: Bounty Huntress Equipment: Bow, Quiver of Arrows (10/20), Dagger, Herb Pouch (nearly empty), Poison Vials (4/4)
Larassa was oblivious to Scales' looks, as she kept her penetrating gaze on Whiskers. This old man was going to drive her insane if he tried to dance around the questions with vague answers again.

Overhearing Numbers whisper through the coms about robots at a ship, Larassa cocked her head before her ears twitched. She had no idea what he was talking about, but she doubted the whispering meant she should question it out loud.

As Sparkles spoke up, Larassa blinked in slight confusion. Why was she focusing on females in particular? Why did it matter if the Tumal had spoken to males only? Shaking her head at this, Larassa let out a sigh before muttering, "I don't unde'stand vhy gender matte's he'e."

Listening to the explanation from Whiskers, Larassa catalogued the information away in her mind. It was a bit less concerning to know it could happen to anyone and wasn't specific to the 'religious leader', but still. She felt no more comfortable in this setting that she had prior to the explanation.

Immediately following Whiskers' gaze to the guards, Larassa stood up straight as one of her arms moved to her bow. While she didn't nock any arrows, she did unsling her bow and keep it in hand. Something was wrong here, very wrong.
Snarling at Whiskers' calm demeanor and attempt to keep the calm, Larassa replied, "Vhat a'e ye doing he'e? Vhat's going on?"
His speech was only making her increasingly concerned, as he was becoming zealous in his dialect. This was a bad sign. A really bad sign. Her free hand twitched, as she considered nocking an arrow just for Whiskers.

Her ears heard the machinery coming to life before she saw it, resulting in her snatching an arrow from her quiver in response to the potential danger. She still kept her bow relaxed, but now had an arrow nocked in it.
Watching the machinery whir about and turn to face them, Larassa paused uncertainly when she saw Lizard stuck to what now appeared to be a sacrifice table. Technically, this would just solve the stowaway problem and then Larassa wouldn't have to keep watching her back whenever she was on Cael's ship...or near Lizard.
Relaxing a bit, Larassa stood up taller with her bow and arrow at her side now. She looked between her teammates, wondering how they felt about all of this.

Flinching at Cael's voice suddenly ringing in her ear, Larassa scowled at the mention of them being pinned down. They were in the same position here.
Oblivious to how one used a comm correctly, Larassa said out loud, "It appea's zhat Liza'd is going to be sacrificed."

Noting Scales' sudden shift in demeanor and anger, Larassa rolled her eyes before saying, "Took ye long enough."

Glaring at Whiskers, Larassa then shouted, "Is zis a sacrifice or vhat?"

Cael sat by the window, glancing out every few seconds as he listened to the others tell what was going on in the temple. He was surprised when he heard them mention Tib's was about to be sacrificed, and even felt bad that he had gotten wrapped yup in this situation. But he was in no position to be able to help Tibs, that would have the be handled by the others.

At glo'cers request for info, Cael looked back at Artemis who seemed to be preparing for war.
"Ah, the ship is completely out of power. It doesn't seem to be tampered with, not sure if these fish sticks would know what to do with a ship like this. They gave me these small crystals, they kinda remind me of those crystals that Roslyn can make, but they look different. Might be how they power their gliders, but I'm gonna need a whole lot more than what they gave me to get this hunk of junk flying again."
Aretmis began explaining her plan, and Cael left the window to join her. She had every intention of killing the guards outside, which Cael couldn't blame her for. Cael met her gaze and scratched his head under his hat, before he lifted his hand with the blaster, and touched the com link with a free finger.

"Alright, Artemis and I are going to take out these bastards and make our way to you guys. If anyone can get to her, grab that H'ma lady and hold her hostage so we can get the hell off this planet."
Cael let the com go and headed for the lift door, and without warning hit the lowering button as he readied his blaster. As the door lowered itself to the floor, Cael's eyes went wide at the sight that was waiting for them at the bottom of the ramp. All of the Koiple guards that had entered into the room where standing at the base with what appeared to be blasters pointed at Cael and Artemis as the gate lowered as if they had known exactly what Artemis and Cael had planned on doing. Cael looked to Artemis, obviously outnumbered he held his hands up along with his blaster.
"Well.....shit.....got any other ideas?"

Temple
The machinery behind U'ldean continued to make whirring noises as lights began to turn on on the panels. All the while, U'ldean had steps away from the podium towards the edge of the stage after Nu had begun to speak. For the first time since their arrival, H'ma frowned at the words that Nu had spoken to their Magistrate, and U'ldean looked as if the words that Nu had spoken where daggers that had cut his beautiful robes.
"How dare you! You call us frauds and lairs! But it is you who is the falsifier and the pretender! This notion of this "Ky-sira" and these "Krasic" that you hold to so dearly! You have been blessed with a gift from the Tumal, and you still think these beings that you revere are the true higher beings in this universe! HA! Once you have seen the power the Tumal has bestowed us with here in Ic'tra, you will know who is false and who is true to the Tumal."

As U'ldean spoke, he returned to the podium disregarding the comments from Larassa and Roslyn, and paying no attention to Glo'cer at all. In fact, none of the Male Koiple had noticed Glo'cer leaving his seat at all, but were watching the group at the bottom like hawks. The only person in the room who had seemed to notice Glo'cer, was H'ma who had began to make her way towards Glo'cer. before the elevator. She stood between him and the elevator, and when she opened her mouth to speak to him, only the shrill siren that had been heard before the snails were attached could be heard by him.
"Glo'cer, you must stay and watch the ritual to the Tumal. None are allowed to leave until it is completed."
The words were clear as day to the rest of the group who was within ear shot, and at the end of the words, the guards finally took notice of Glo'cer and presented their halberds to stop him from moving any closer.

U'ldean looked up to H'ma, who nodded to each other as U'ldean hit another series of buttons on the podium. The machine began to make an ominous humming noise, that sounded as if it came from behind the paneling on the stage. The paneling began to separate and revealed another computer panel with an object resting within a glass case that closely resembled the choker around Nu's neck before it had attached itself. The object was white metal, and in the shape of small hexagonal pendant, and as the machine continued to hum it began to light up from behind. The light began to sync with the light within Tib's tube glowing brighter and brighter. The light got brighter and brighter until finally the entire room was whited out by the light for a split second. When the light finally began to darken, U'ldean, H'ma, and all the guards where bowing before the machine muttering to themselves where they had stood. The machine was now humming as if it was shutting down, as the object within the case glowed a soft pink color. At the top of the machine, the tube that held the table with Tibs on it, only held an empty table now.

Glo'cer frouned at the news that Cael gave him. His only respite was the fact that the ship was till in one piece. He turned to look at the podium near the others but was met with a terrible shrieking. He clasp his ears with his hands which only gave minimal relief. He turned to face H'ma along with a few guards brandishing halberds at him. With the snail now dead, he didn't know what threats the being was making. All he knew was that getting weapons pointed at him was not a good sign. He backed off a little to get closer to the others. He turned his head to speak with his party before laying eyes on the terrible sight. Sure, he didn't care for Tibs. It was just a foreboding sight. Who knew if they would be next. As the machine came to life, he shielded his eyes from the white light. Once he gazed back to the table, his body sank a little at seeing the lack of Tibs.

Though he was weary of what the current situation would bring, he did find it odd that they were worshiping a computer device. If anything, it intrigued him. Crossing his arms, he began thinking aloud despite the immediate threats. hmm... Interesting. I figure it is either 70% teleportation or 30% disintegration. However, disintegration would still leave a residue of matter... unless the time it took our eyes to adjust let the ash particles blow into the air. Now that I think about it, 80% teleportation. Stability of the action is unknown but due to recent events, I would say, stable enough for planetary system ranged. The energy out put is significant too. His eyes fell to Nu with his last thought. He walked back to the others now as the Koiple were bowing to the machine. Taking out his 5 syringes, he drew his electric blue liquid into each one. Nu... are you still able to teleport? If so, we may be able to get the ship running quickly. He said, holding the vials to her. I have no clue what may happen if you introduce my liquid to your neck device. Choking, explosion, even possible malfunction. It would take me time to understand what I was working with. All I know is that your device has an irreplaceable energy out put. Teleportation in such a small device is amazing. So, go to the generator room. Use these to see if you can make a shock wave of energy to start the systems for a small amount of time. Cale and Artemis may need the shield generator on.

Rosalyn was hearing Cael in one ear and U'ldean in the other. She mostly ignored U'ldean for the things he were saying had nothing to do with her. In fact she was growing more irritated the more he spoke. She disliked over religious people very much. When she heard Cael start speaking about crystals she instantly concentrated on what he was saying. "From what you are saying it sounds like how my people power everything. If the ship can process my blood as a fuel source we can make if off of this planet." Her crystalized blood most likely held a lot more energy than their crystals did which meant they wouldn't need as much to get around.

In the corner of her eye she watched G'locer try to get to the elevator but was stopped by the guards. None shall leave my ass. Seeing U'ldean pressing even more buttons and it sounded like another machine hummed to life. The panels started to draw back and Rosalyn went and started to charge toward the paneling to get to whatever machine was making that noise. She may not have particularly cared for the lizard but she didn't want to give the Koiple people satisfaction of completing the ritual. When the panels pulled back to reveal a glass container that held an object that looked the same as the one on Nu's neck except a different shape.

When she saw the hexagon pendent she immediately froze. There was a voice in her head. It was different than the one she was hearing before for it was in her native tongue. Ελα σε μένα (come to me) It kept calling to her. The weirdest part was that the voice reminded her of her father's, which she hadn't heard in years. Her body relaxed as the crystallization on her started to retreat. Rosalyn's body started to move on its own. Her hand went and activated her anti gravity watch and, instead of walking, flew over her obstacles to get to the machine that was now humming louder and the light emitting from it got brighter. Rosalyn was right in front of the class case when she had to close her eyes for the light became blinding as it filled the room and then went back to normal. Now as the light subsided the calling was stronger. Πάρε με (take me) Rosalyn broke the glass with her crystalized hand and reached to grab the hexagon pendent.

U'ldean, H'ma and the guards continued to keep themselves bowed before the stage as the group shifted and began to talk of escape. U';dean was the first to speak up, the old fish began to chant loud enough as if an audience was within the room.
"Oh great Tumal, we send another who had heard your call to you. So that you my continue to provide for us and save us from the storm of this world. We ask for nothing, and are given much. May this wanderer, be a tribute who will.......WAIT!"
U'ldean had lifted his head during his prayer, only to see Roslyn had made her way over to the device, and the smashing of the glass had made his eyes widen.

The device continued to pulsate with energy as Roslyn got closer. The closer she got, the more the pulsation seemed to deepen and for a split second Roslyn could feel the pulse of the machine, match her own hearts beat. Then the device moved, and moved fast. Almost to fast for anyone's eyes to see, the device leapt from the podium that it was attached to, and flew to Roslyn's right wrist. It was a very familiar scene for the Odyssey crew, as soon as the device made contact its edges slid to the sides and bindings began to stretch around Roslyn's wrist until they met on the underside. They formed a metallic clasp on one another, before the clasp disappeared and the device became still once more. The only sign of life coming from the device now, was the slow melodic rhythm of a sigil pulsating with pink light.

Untitled.png
As instantaneous as the device leaving the podium was, the rumbling of something deep within the city began. It sounded as if something massive that had been running the entire time, had suddenly come to a complete halt. U'ldeans cry had mad H'ma and the guards lift from their spots, and were now looking around as the rumbling continued. The lights within the temple began to flicker until finally the flicked off completely and were replaced by deep red ambient light. H'ma made a terrible shrieking noise, that even with snails still sounded primal and alarming before she pointed a webbed finger at the group and yelled.
"Seize them! They have taken the holy symbol of the Tumal. Remove the shiny ones arm if you have to to get it back!"
The guards readied their spears and began charging down the stair cases towards the group, primed to attack.

Hangar
Inside the Odyssey, Cael and Artemis found that the Guards were beginning to approach when something within the city began to shake. Cael steadied himself on the door frame of the lift until the rumblings slowed a little, and he looked to Artemis.
"What tha hell?"
As Cael lifted his hand to touch the com link on his arm, he watched as half the guards turned to leave the hangar and head for the elevator door. With four still at the bottom of the door, looking a bit disheveled, Cael took the opportunity to grab Artemis' arm and jump to the side of the door. There were a series of upset noises that sounded like grunts and then the slapping of bare feet on the ramp. Cael looked to Artemis and then grabbed the box of crystals off the counter. \
"I need to get these into tha engines. If what Roslyn said is true, we might be able to use these for power. Think you can keep them fish busy for a hot minute fer me?"

((Short post to get things moving. Here is the simple run down; there are 7 guards coming at the group in the auditorium. There are 5 more heading that way. Cael and Artemis are pinned down with 4 guards. The guards in the auditorium do not appear to have any types of ranged weapons, merely long halberds with shiny "mother or pearl" looking blades on them. But the 5 coming down, and the 4 in the hangar do. Enjoy :) ))

Nu was visibly becoming more prickly by the second. The spikes along her spine were fully raised out of their depressions, and with her eyes narrowed and teeth bared, she looked like a deep-space monster ready to rip U'ldean to shreds. Which she was both ready and probably capable of doing. When he shouted back at her, she let out a low, undulating growl that came from deep within her. Sensitive beings would have felt the resonance of it across their skin; it was a vocalization reserved for the most dire situations.
She wasn't surprised by his response, but it only confirmed her thoughts and feelings. "If your Tumal require sacrifice of a un-ended life, they are not the holy ones. They are dru'nan, and you are nothing but fools." The native word came out without her really thinking about it. She didn't know the translation, but the closest word in the common tongue was "demons." She did not take the time to wonder how he knew the words of her people, because Rosalyn began to move forward as if in a trance.
Nu felt as if she almost recognized the look on the crystal lady's face, and when she followed her gaze, it fell on the pendant under the glass case. Was it calling to her, as the choker had called to Nu?
Nu had to take her eyes off of Rosalyn for a moment to look at Glo'cer. She grimaced at the sight of him withdrawing is strange blood, and was confused by what he wanted her to do. "You want to gamble with something we don't understand? Thats.. thats insane.." She exclaimed, as he handed her the vials. "It has to get the energy from somewhere, we could destroy ourselves..." Her sentence was cut off by the sound of breaking glass. Her eyes darted to Rosalyn. Looks like there was one more member of the team with a new piece of jewelry.
And just like that, the Koiple went from self-assured and collected, to panicked. Nu dropped the vials into her belt, and gave Glo'cer a look. "We can worry about powering the ship later. I die before I go without the rest of you." Her tail whipped back and forth once, and then she was gone from Glo'cer's side.
The Kryx reappeared next to Rosalyn, and drew her small gun, giving it a moment to prime (and her head a moment to recover) before pointing it in the direction of U'ldean. He was the closest to them, but nothing would satisfy her more than him making a move toward them so she could end his falsehoods.

Artemis was so ready to start fighting.. that is until she saw the multiple blasters pointed at them as the ramp lowered to the ground. Well.... wasn't that just swell? At the sound of Cael putting up his pistol, the cyborg started to let go of her own sword as disappointment and dread started to sink in. Perhaps they should've been more attentive and careful... nevertheless unless something happened, both of them would be well on their way to get sacrificed like poor old Tibs. Thankfully, the great shaking of the earth drew away a bunch of them, leaving four... little, darling soldiers behind.

A moment ago, things seemed dreadfully bad for them. A moment later... not so bad.

Before the cyborg could make another move, she was being dragged away by her arm. Looking up, Artemis spied Cael as he headed back to the lounge area at top speed, grabbing the box of crystals on arrival. Before he had even finished explaining the plan, a grin was already spread across her face as she ushered him back to the door just as the four guards arrived around the corner and spotted them.

" Leave it to me, Cael " she assured, pushing Dorogan in the other direction as shots from the blasters whizzed past. One sizzled past her head as the cyborg took up her sword to deflect a few shorts. Backing up slightly, she turned the corner back into the lounge area and it into the small alcove where ripped off her hood and bunched it on the table in view of the hall. She then pressed herself against the wall next to the hall, quieting her breathing as the cyborg listened out for 4 sets of footsteps. They drew closer and closer to her and luckily, the guards sounded as if they were huddled close to one another.

Just as the guards entered into the alcove, drawn to the hood they'd seen her wearing only moments ago, Artemis tapped into the last chromosome she'd collected and immediately went invisible as each one passed by her place. The split second the last Koiple stepped into sight, she was slipped past the other three and was on him, grabbing around the throat with one hand covering his mouth tightly. Taking the guard by surprise, she whipped him out of the the small round area and out of sight of the others as her plasma edged of her sword penetrated through his armor and into his abdomen.

Pulling out her sword as it dripped with a strange liquid that the cyborg could only guess was their equivalent of blood, she laid him down against the nearest wall just as one of the other three came to investigate the disappearance of his friend. He immediately alerted the others upon seeing the situation, but a shot pierced through his chest as Artemis angled the blaster in the dead Koiple's hand and pulled the trigger.

By the time the other two had come out of the room, she'd managed to free the blaster and fired a shot towards them. Unfortunately, both dodged out of the way in different directions, all the while firing towards her. The cyborg deflected and evaded all the shots, all besides one. It burned through the metallic skin of her right arm as hexagonal patterns bloomed across her armor from the damaged protective layer.

Hissing slightly, Artemis activated the chromosome again, flickering in and out of visibility due to the speed of her movement as she close the gap between herself and the remaining Guards. With the blaster tucked into her belt and out of her hands, she activated her sword. The closest one was decapitated with a single slice and his head went thudding on the floor.

Ducking behind the headless Koiple, the cyborg used him as a meat shield as his friend fired towards them, each shot shaking the body upon impact. Grabbing the fallen head, she chucked it at full speed in the final guard's direction as he hasted to dodge and shoot and the fleshy projectile. With him distracted for a split second, Artemis grabbed the stowed away blaster from belt, aimed and fired a shot straight through the last Koiple's head.

"Boom. Head shot."

As the bodies hit the floor, silence descended upon the lounge area that was a whole lot messier than it was a few short moments ago. All four Koiples were dealt with and at least two were dead. She would have to check their bodies later to see if any were still alive. Taking a moment, Artemis examined her arm. Upon close inspection of the wound, the cyborg noticed that some circuitry could be seen. Unfortunately she doubted that the un-organic material of her arm would naturally heal.

Oh well.

He frowned at the Kryx's actions. He couldn't blame her though. Risking ones well being wasn't the most sound idea. Especially when the party still had trust issues. Perhaps it was just him though. His kind wasn't really known for empathy in any regard. Soon after, he flinched as he heard the glass shattering. As Glo'cer gazed up to the podium, he saw Rosalyn breaking the machine. He covered his eyes as the light emitting from it intensified for the moment. Concerned, he looked to the other group members as they began to take action. Seeing Nu take the vials and poof over to the crystal girl made him feel vulnerable. His only other source of close quarters protection was Larassa who used a bow. He could see her using claws and other animal features for fighting, but it still didn't bode well for him.

With a heavy sigh, he dug into his pouch to bring out the small blaster pistol. Registering that he was holding it, the lights began to turn on with the electric blue light. He lifted his arm, pointing towards the guards, but his aim was shaky. Seeing as there was no immediate tech he could mess with for usefulness, he had to resort to the basics. Despite being an outlaw, his fighting showed just how terrible he was when things called for aggressive maneuvers. He started shooting blindly into the area of the guards, hoping a energy blast would hit them. They didn't wear much protective clothing so even a stray shot could put them down. That wasn't the case for him though. He shot the walls behind them, the steps in front. Even the tip of a fin from a guard. There was no luck on his side this fight.

He peeked his eye open for a moment to see how he was doing but the dread of seeing no affects disheartened him. Just as I assumed... He grimaced as he backed away a little more. Excuse me, Rosalyn... We could use some close quarters combat. There is a 70% chance of our bow welding member getting overrun by guards unless someone blocks their path to her. He said to the comms as he ducked under the chairs. Holding his pistol ready for a guard to run at him.

It took her a moment to even realize what had happened. One second she ready to bash through everything to take out the elder koiple and now she was standing by the machine with class shattered everywhere. what in the world? She looked down on her right wrist and saw the device now attached to her wrist. It reminded her so much of Nu's chocker. Maybe it has some powers like hers? Before she could even try anything H'ma's shrilling voice filled up the auditorium and the lights began to go out and change to another color. It worried her a little but it didn't stop her from forming a huge grin on her face at the satisfaction of her having their 'holy' device. "Looks like your precious Tumal have chosen me over you!" Nu suddenly appeared by her side and she jumped, not yet used to the Kyrx's new found ability.

Rosalyn heard G'locer in her ear as the guards started to charge towards them and she had to resist the urge to roll her eyes. "You don't need to tell me that." She muttered as her body fully crystalized, covering over the foreign device that was now on her wrist. Rosalyn went and jumped off the stadium, cracks forming in the ground beneath her as she landed, and charged towards the guards blowing through everything that got in her way. At moments like this she was thankful for her specie's ability to basically harden their body.

When she got close to the guards she lifted her right arm up to block the attack from their weapon and then threw a punch with her left hand. She heard a satisfying 'crack' before the body fell back. She twisted her body to the right and hit another guard for she had felt the end of it's weapon clank against her side. She felt rage rise up in her at the fact that someone actually hit her with a weapon while in close combat. When Rosalyn went to hit him with her right fist the device on her wrist glowed a pink color and a giant blast of energy came out of said fist, similar to that of a blast from a blaster gun but bigger. Rosalyn's eyes went wide as she totally destroyed the Koiple guard, as would any creature getting hit with a blast like that from such short range. As she quickly got over the shock of what just happened she started to feel a little tired. Now I know what that does. She moved back a bit to catch her bearings. "Well is anyone planning on helping out here?!"

Hearing H'ma speaking to Numbers in the back, Larassa turned around to face the pair with a frown. Her bow remained at the ready, but Numbers soon returned to the group and began spouting, well, numbers. Rolling her eyes, Larassa refocused on the oddity unfolding before her. Her suspicions were all coming true at once, as sure enough, a zealous race was the means to an end as per usual. Religion as strong as this never boded well.

As the machine hummed louder and everything seemed to be speeding up, Larassa's eyes darted around the room for answers only for her to be blinded by a bright, white light. Gasping, she stumbled backwards with one hand over her eyes while her other hand continued to hold her bow. Blinking, she soon recovered in time to see Lizard was gone entirely. What the hell?
Bewildered by this, Larassa looked at her teammates for answers, but nobody else seemed to understand what was going on any more than she did. Even more confusing, Sparkles decided to punch the glass case and steal the pendant, which seemingly glued itself to her wrist. Again, what the hell?

Though, it was very humorous when Whiskers was offended by Sparkles' sudden action. Larassa chuckled at his concern, enjoying his distress.
The humor was quickly ended by the deep rumbling of something seemingly coming to life beneath the city. Larassa's eyes widened at this and she frantically looked around for an explanation, but Whiskers was too concerned with the ritual falling apart. Crap, what did Sparkles just do?

Larassa took this moment to shout, "Try not to keell us, Spa'kles!"

Ignoring Scales' religious talk, Larassa drew her arrow, now ready to shoot anyone who attempted to attack the team. Surely, this was enough to cause a fight to break out.
She was correct, as Whiskers called the guards on them and Larassa ignored the rushing guards. Taking careful aim, she looked at Whiskers and then let loose the arrow. With how chaotic things were now, it was very likely she'd miss the shot. She had no time to check, as the guards got even closer and she had to nock another arrow.

Annoyed with Sparkles shouting for more help, Larassa snarled, "Vat do ye zink I'm doin'?"
An arrow flew past Sparkles and promptly downed a guard, who had gotten dangerously close to striking her with his spear.

Cael left Artemis without a second glance as he scooped up the box of crystals and headed for the back of the ship. The sounds of the fighting at the ramp echoed through the ship as he reached the door to the engine room and opened it manually. The engines were cold, which ment that even with whatever power source they had provided them with, the engines would still need to warm up before they could go anywhere.
Cael set to work undoing the latches that geld the fuel tanks in places. Luckily one of the modifications that Glak was so proud of, was a cellular fuel system that would siphon from individual tanks until they were empty. This allowed the ship to run continuous until all the cells were bone dry. The cells of fuels could be replaced as they were depleted instead of all at once.

The crystals were only a fraction of the size of the tanks themselves. So Cael scooped up all the crystal from the box and pulled a cell out of the engine wall. He really wasn't sure what to do with the damned things, so he just tossed them into the container, as he muttered to himself.
"Could really use Glak here for this shit. Would even settle for the slime ball at this point."
Cael closed the hatch and slid the cell back into the wall. He walked over to the door and found the remote terminal for the engine room. He pulled up the hub for the engines and began diverting all lines to the first cell. He hit a few keys, before hitting the ignition command and praying to whatever god would listen. The engine turbines began to turn over, and he could see the sparks from the ignition within the fuel cell, and for a brief moment he thought to himself that this "fuel source" was just not going to work.

Until finally, the ignition chamber lit up with a blinding blue light and the engine turbines roared to life. Whats more, as Cael watched the ship's diagnostics on the engines begin to calculate, he read that the output of the engines right now was at nearly 300% over their normal performance level. Cael could have sat there tinkering with the numbers, but they were in a bind. He closed up the terminal and left the engine room for the cock pit. As he rounded the corner of the lounge, he saw Artemis still fighting with what remained of the Koiple. His boot struck an object, and he looked down to see a Koiple head that had obviously met the wrong end of her blade. Cael gave the head a good hard kick across the floor and watched it tumble out the ramp of the ship. As he continued toward the cockpit he yelled over his shoulder to Artemis.
"Be sure to clean up after your done playing with your toys!"
He really didn't want dead fish on his ship.
Cael reached the cockpit and sat in his chair to begin the start up routine. The numbers on the engine were already starting to drop, apparently the crystals would not last long as the engines dropped to 275%. Cael swore and touched the pad on his arm.
"Ships up and running. But it wont be forever, so get back here as soon as you can."

Temple
U'ldean was beyond furious at the current events taking place. The one known as Roslyn had taken the scarred icon, the Kryx was shouting blasphemy about the Tumal, and the rest had erupted into fighting inside the sacred temple. He wanted to fix this, maybe send all of them to the Tumal and let them decide their wicked fate, but first he would need to get the icon back. Still huddled on the floor from where he had been praying, U'ldean looked over as Nu reappeared beside Roslyn and sneered at them listening to her words. He wanted to say something, but the loud humming from underneath the city had started up again causing The temple to shake violently. Several of the golden curtains hanging around were no falling to the floor, revealing a wall of machinery that looked quite possibly the most abstract within the city so far.

U'ldean stood to his feet as the rumbling slowed.
"I knew I should not have let H'ma bring you here. But the Tumal insisted that you be brought to this place and taught! I will never understand why they would let your filth desecrate and defile our sacred temp......!!"
The words stopped before U'ldean could finish, as something hit him in the side of his head. His black fish eyes seemed almost ready to pop out of his head as he reached up past his gaping mouth and felt the arrow that was plunged into the side of it. U'ldean made a choking noise as his webbed hand touched the arrow shaft, and his mouth seemed to gasp for air that wasn't there. Finally, the old fish fell to his knees, his black eyes fixed on Nu. It wasn't clear, but in his last moments he seemed to mouth the words, traitor, before he fell over and his body stopped moving.

A shrill and wailing noise erupted from H'ma and the remaining guards in the room. It was both sad and infuriated at the same time, and every single Koiple in the entire city seemed to begin shrieking above the low hum of the city now. H'ma shouted something indecipherable, as ever single snail that had been attached to the group feel off dead on the ground. Now there were no words, simply screams and shrieks as the remaining guards climbed over the stage and chairs to reach the ones that had killed their spiritual leader.

Glo'cer was huddled under some seats as she peered around as chaos ensued. He curled his fingers along the grips of the gun as he was on high alert. He hopped that the guards would go after the others while they were the center of attention. Even more so now that the resident Siklaid had shot the spiritual leader. He was calculating the odds of the guards fighting or giving up as their leader stopped moving but that was soon drowned out by high pitched screeching. Cupping his ears, he ducked back under the seats. Without the snail, his head was filled with the terrible screams. Wincing at the pain, it amplified with the combining of the kiople. Shakily getting up from the seat he knew he needed to exit the place. Shuffling to the end of a row, he finally noticed the room full of machinery. Well, this was unexpected! He said yelling as loud as he could. My thoughts are this place is now starting to sink! Based on buoyancy and depleting energy we still have plenty of time, however, I would rather not wait any longer. He knew he would be unable to focus on hacking the elevators with all this noise going on. Raising his gun in the air, he sent off a few warning shots to try and startle them enough to shut up. Knowing full well he may be the center of attention to guards, he kept the pistol ready just in case. It's a shame we don't have the snails anymore. I would be fairly interested in learning the inner workings of this place...

Nu was fixed to the spot, staring across at U'ldean, even as Rosalyn moved away to fight the guards. Her heart hardened and told her to shoot him, to put red in the ledger of this false religion, one that so mimicked her own. If he was gone, if the Koiple were gone, than everything the Kryx believed in would never be proven wrong. His shouting was the only thing she could hear, and it only made things worse; her pride rose up so strongly at the fact this being made her question her faith, that her finger moved to rest on the trigger, and she drew in a steadying breathe. She wasn't going to stop and think about how the Krasic would feel about her murdering an unarmed being of faith, however false it was.
And then there was silence in her ears, as his mouth stopped moving and hung open, almost comically. A familiar black arrow stood out against the side of his head. Before he fell, his mouth formed the one word she hated most, traitor.
There was a moment of absolute stillness and silence inside of her mind, as she stood at the now motionless body of the Magistrate. She thought she might cry for him, now that the pride for her people had faded, or for herself, for being a traitor as he said, and her foot lifted to move toward him.
The horrendous wailing drew her out of the trance, and the Kryx felt tears gather at the edges or her eyes. Their shrieking was just so full of pain and panic. The guards began to rush them furiously now, but Nu couldn't bring herself to fire the blaster in her hands. Nu looked over the members of the team; if only they could all get back to the elevator without hurting the Koiple..
Glo'cer started yelling, about the city sinking, and Nu felt her gut clench in panic. They had doomed the Koiple, and possibly the entire team. They needed to leave, as quickly as they had come.

"BLINK!"
It was a shout, the voice of a stranger but so full of urgency and so loud that, in her mind's eye, it was a young, handsome male Kryx standing next to her that said it. She knew there was no Kryx there, but she found herself believing the conviction of that voice, feeling its urgency.
Nu's instinctive reaction was to picture the team in the elevator, like she had moments before, but this time, the device around her neck hummed to life and lit the room with a bright blue flash..

The cyborg's head lifted slightly at the sound of Cael's voice, reminding her to clean up. Artemis had heard him walk past a few seconds before whilst she was finishing off the last Koiple and he definitely did not like the dead fish everywhere. Perhaps she should've been a bit cleaner... A smile pulled at the corner of her lips as she flexed her arm and retracted her sword back into its sheath. Clean up time.

Kneeling down by and investigating all of the bodies, Artemis checked for any signs of life in the four guards that she had dealt with. Two of the creatures were, surprisingly, still alive but both were barely hanging on to life. A well aimed poke might push them over the edge. Unsurprisingly, the one she had decapitated and the last Koiple she had shot in the head were definitely dead so there was no chances of getting any information out of them. Speaking of the dead koiples... where was that missing head...?

Dragging the two corpses to the ramp, Artemis pushed them down over the edge of the Odyssey and let them slide to the floor of the hangar. Returning to the lounge, the cyborg beheld the "bloody" room and couldn't help remember a scene from not long ago. A memory of the burnt hangar of the Brazzen littered with countless bodies of dead people...

Brushing off her shakiness, the gwathian prepared to tying the two unconscious hostages up just in case they should wake up, but before she could make another move though, ear piercing wails filled the air as the entire planet seemed to breaking into raging mourning. Just to emphasize the loss, the intergalactic snail behind her ear keeled over and died, cutting off any more communication between the races. Shrugging, the cyborg got up.

Sucks for the hostages then.

Grabbing hold of the two unconscious Koiple, Artemis moved to the cockpit where Cael was situated. Though she hadn't finished cleaning up, Koiple gloop might take quite some time to get rid of so she'd get back to it later... hopefully the strange liquid didn't leave stains. The dorogan wouldn't mind.... right?

Upon reaching the cockpit, she abandoned the two bodies at the door and walked in on silent feet. "I've thrown out the broken play things. How's the situation, Captain?" the cyborg asked as took a seat in one of the emoty chairs, peering over at the dashboard, a grin at the high energy levels on display. Things seemed to be looking good for them... now they just needed to get their friends out.

"Oh and what should I do about those two?" Artemis questioned, gesturing behind her to the unconscious guards. "Think they'll sell for much on the market?"

"Not like I was trying to Furball!" Rosalyn called back out to Lara. She then heard a body drop behind her. Turning she saw a koiple guard that was brought down by Lara's arrow. A small smile formed on her face at the site but quickly disappeared when she felt the snail fall from her ear and all she heard was screeching. Rosalyn couldn't help but put her hands up to her ear for the sudden change in sound was alarming. What the hell just happened? Since Rosalyn was facing away form the stage she didn't see what had happened to the elder koiple. The temple started to shake and Rosalyn removed her hand from her ears to balance herself. What in the world is going on! Her eye went wide at Gl'ocer's response. They were sinking? "Then we better get out of here quickly." Rosalyn did not mix well with water due to her crystalized self she would sink not float. She decided not to think about it until the time actually came.

More things started to fall around them but Rosalyn chose to ignore it and focused her attention on the Kopile people coming towards them. Glancing at her other companions she realized that Gl'ocer was not going to be much help and she had yet seen Nu do much of anything except threaten them. her and Lara were the only ones doing anything at the moment. "Looks like it's just going to be us two." She muttered before getting ready to try and shoot off another blast. It was taking energy from her but she would make sure to make it out. She has lived through a rebellion, she was definitely going to live through this.

Help!

A panicked voice entered her head. Rosalyn couldn't help but growl because she was absolutely done with these damn voices in her head. Even still something in her was telling her to look at Nu. That the Kryx was who she was supposed to help. But how? These stupid voices aren't helpful at all! Then an idea clicked into her head. Nu's device could blink them out. If it had power to blink the ship it could definitely get them out of here. Help. That is what the voice had said. Form how the others were reacting it seemed as though no one else heard it so maybe it was still specific to her. Looking down at her device she had an idea. The device seemed to use energy much like how her weapons do. If she could someone transfer that energy to Nu's device maybe it would take them out quicker.

Instead of charging into the line of fire Rosalyn ran towards Nu who looked like she already had the idea to blink. Rosalyn had no idea how to even transfer the energy but her right hand reached out to touch her before the device lit up blinding her.

As soon as Roslyn's hand touched Nu, the two devices attached to them began to glow rapidly. The glowing grew brighter and brighter filling the temple with a familiar blinding light. As the light filled the room of the temple, it caused the charging guards to halt their advance and shield their already once blinded eyes. When they removed their webbed hands from their faces, they looked on where the four visitors had once been standing, and they were gone.

Hangar
Cael continued to ready the ship, with the engines humming gleefully from the rear of the ship. He had managed to solve their power problem, but as he continued to glance upward out of the cock pit he realized there was another pressing problem they had, a way out. The hangar was basically large cylinder with a retractable ceiling, which had been closed due to the night time weather. Or so they had been told. He might be able to blast a hole through it, but without knowing what this place was made of, he risked breaking a piece off on top of the ship, or even shooting a plasma canon off at something that would just reflect it.

Cael's attention turned from the ceiling to the entrance of the cock pit where Artemis now stood. He glanced back at the Koiple she had brought with her, and smirked with a slight shrug.
"Beats me, but we gotta get the hell outta here before..."
As Cael spoke, the Odyssey and the city under it lurched to the side tossing him from behind the captains chair across the cock pit. He stopped himself by grabbing hold of the seconds chair and pulling himself up to see what had happened.
As he did, a blinding flash filled the hangar and cockpit of the ship. Cael squinted and held his arm up to shield from the light, and lowered it when it had dissipated. Now he could see four very familiar looking figures standing in the hangar, and he scrambled back up to the captains chair and opened up the com's to the group.
"I don't know how you managed to get back here, but I am damned glad to see you all in one piece! Hurry up and get on board. We gotta get tha hell outta here!"
Cael turned back to the console to try and stabilize the Odyssey and allow the others to board the ship from the ramp. As he turned the ship he caught sight of a panel not very far from where the others had appeared. Cael hit the com link again as he had an idea for their escape.
"Hey Slime! Think you can get the hangar doors open with that panel before you climb aboard?"

He didn't understand what had happened. He remembered the strange room full of machinery and the koiple coming at the four of them. Frantically shooting at the gaurds without any luck, he tried to keep as far back as possible though there was only so many place he could go. In the end, he was slowly getting herded with the others while his blaster was at the ready. In some ways, he wished he learned how to properly fire blasters. Years of confinement didn't really give him the chance. He looked to the others for some hope that their brawn was better than the guards but instead he looked upon them seeing a strange sight. The room was filled with blue and he felt lighter than normal. His body felt like it was a swirling pool for a moment.

He felt the cool touch of metal underneath his feet. Slowly, his eyes opened with a look of confusion and uncertainty. Shaking his head a few times, the familiar voice of Cael came to. As he scratched his head, trying to make sense of the situation, he looked towards Cael. W-what? Where? He said as he pinched between his eyes. With a drawn out sigh, he cleared his mind. Of course I can open a simple hanger... He grumbled. They were possibly the easiest things to hack. I want off this planet full of death liquid anyway. He spoke with annoyance as he quickly walked to the panel. With a simple smear of his blood, he let the panel short out. Within seconds, he hangar doors began sliding open. Alright, let's get going. Nothing for us here. He said, walking towards the ship.

And just like that, their group of friends materialized out of thin air with a blinding flash. The only possible reason : the strange accessories that now both Nu and Rosalyn wore. Things were just getting weirder and weirder weren't they? But how fun and exciting it was all going to be.

As Cael instructed the others on what to do, Artemis knelt down by the two unconscious Koiples, checking their bodies again : still...relatively alive. Without another word, she pulled them up one onto a chair and strapped them in with the seat belts. After all, once they got the Odyssey into the air, the bodies would just go sliding around and she doubted Cael would like two almost-corpses ping-ponging around the cock-pit...nor did she think any unsuspecting crew member would appreciate to find the 'bloody' bodies locked up in the the only toilet on the ship should she have gone with that plan.

Once both guards were secured, Artemis returned back to where the Dorogan was, peeking out into the hangar. It was strange that the Koiples hadn't responded as of yet... not a guard or soldier in sight... which worried her slightly, but perhaps the creatures were just lagging a few steps behind because of shock and surprise? Either way, the hangar doors were now open with freedom right in front of them. They just needed to get the Odyssey up and out... and fast.

Pressing down the button on Cael's mechanical arm, Artemis opened up the connection again, speaking clearly into the commlink system, "Glocer is right, hurry guys. We need to go now while they haven't caught up yet." Stepping back again, she eyed the other doorways, wondering when they'll open up to a fresh horde of fighters.

"Cael, want me to stay here or make sure they don't run into anymore trouble?" the cyborg offered, one hand already hovering over the hilt of her blade, but she hadn't forgotten the pain in her right arm. If they had to fight again though, Artemis would not be able to perform at her best, but at least she could give them some support should they need it.

Her thoughts flew to the ramp that would serve as their way up into the ship. She was not sure if anyone besides Cael would know how to operate it... but Glocer should have had some tricks up his sleeves.

Larassa grinned with delight when her arrow struck true, instantly killing Whiskers upon impact. The following silence was wondrous, until every fish person began screaming. Thanks to her extra-sensitive ears, Larassa cried out and then nearly dropped her bow while bringing her free hand to clutch at one of her ears. The snail fell off her shoulder, though Larassa didn't really notice this.

Grimacing, Larassa kept her ears tightly folded against her head while she struggled to stay on her feet. Noticing the guards rushing her now, she nocked another arrow and took aim at the nearest before launching her arrow. It stuck the guard in the hip, dropping him a millisecond later. Her heart raced with excitement at this showdown. While Larassa went to nock another arrow, she noticed her teammates joining her side. Was this going to be a final stand?

Guess not, Larassa thought to herself while the world around her became painfully bright. By the time she'd blinked, she found herself standing in the hangar. Blinking a few times to regain her vision, Larassa then slowly put her arrow away. She frowned at the lack of another guard to kill, as that had been quite the adrenaline rush back there. Still unable to hear due to the residual ringing from the screams, Larassa unfolded her ears only to blink at Numbers. He clearly was speaking, yet she heard nothing.

Unhelpfully, Larassa chose that moment to shout, "Vhat?!"

At the last moment, Nu felt a hand touch her, and then the light became too much and she had to squeeze her eyes against it.
( Lioness075 Lioness075 they blinked into the hangar outside the ship)
The next moment, she became aware of the fact that the ground beneath her sticky feet felt different, and when she opened her eyes she found herself staring at their ship at the other end of the hangar. There didn't seem to be any guards in the hangar, which struck her as odd, but that was one of the last things in her mind. At the forefront was the fact that she had just blinked all of them quite a distance, and instead of feeling sluggish and tired, she felt dizzy with energy. Her eyes darted to Rosalyn, and the thing on her wrist, who was so close to her that it must've been her that touched her during the blink.
All of her sets of ears were painfully ringing, and she could tell Larassa was having the same problem. She gave a small growl, and flattened them against her skull. She took a few steps, stumbling a little as her knees wobbled, but regained herself and looked at the others. "They'll catch up if we don't get a move on." Her own voice sounded muffled, so much so she wondered if she had said the words correctly.
