Dice Kazragun - OOC

Me, too. Going to be getting Selective Channel next, so I can use my Lay on Hands ability in a 30' radius without healing the enemy around us.

Btw, this is a silvanshee (NG alignment)

Veskassdak's feats and rage powers are planned through level 20. Always good to know where you're going when you start.
My habit is to plan all my feats, powers, skills, and spells for any character I create so I can have an idea of what my character truly wants to be. Be it a massive rage monster or a magic item merchant or something with racial flavor. Makes roleplaying more fun when you can have your character inhabit your head.

I like both the idea of the slowly growing lizard man, and the extended life span of a dragon blood. Both might not influence the happenings right now, but just feel fitting flavor-wise.

Okay to clarify, Swamp spirits is made from the roots of swamp moss that cling to trees along with other things that grow in the swamp that provides the yeast for fermentation.
Blood of Foes is fermented from blood colored tree sap. Not sure what trees in the swamp make it, but I'll leave that in the hands of the storyteller. The same plants that provide the yeast for Swamp Spirits is used to make the Blood of Foes, but the fermentation process lasts a lot longer.
Think of the difference between making an average wine and making an aged scotch and you'll have a good idea of Veskassdak is used to drinking.

Ok so I re-evaluated my plan from a story lens and Im considering Prestiging into Dragon Disciple. My main thing that is stopping me is that I'm not sure if the abilities gained by sorcerer levels stack with DD levels; I'm under the impression that they do

Sorry, but the only thing from the sorcerer class that stacks with DD is spells. Not any bloodline abilities or any other class feature. Once you take a DD level, you don't increase any sorcerer stuff until you take another sorcerer level. That's the price of prestige classes.

I'm glad you know about that; I'm not sure what it is that you guys are even talking about, other than it has to do with the dragon part of the character. I'll stick with my simple Rogue

As is Veskassdak. My plan for him requires him to remain a straight barbarian.

The Evangelist Prestige Class is the exception to prestige classes vs regular classes thing I posted earlier. Even so, gaining class abilities from previous classes that she aligns starts at second level and she still retains the Hit Dice, base attack bonus, saving throw bonuses, and skill ranks of the prestige class, but gains all other class features of her aligned class as well as those of the evangelist prestige class.

Still a cost of taking a prestige class.

My opinion of prestige classes is if they are what you want then go for it. There are many prestige classes that I have an idea for, but not for Veskassdak. It just doesn't fit with my concept for him.

Another thing is some prestige classes require you to multiclass, example Fighter/Wizard to qualify for Eldritch Knight, Cleric/Wizard for Mystic Theurge, and others. Again it's all about the concept of the character. If it works, more power, but it takes that much longer to get to it.

Thanks for already answering, Dicer Dicer .

Let me know if you want to move on, or if there's still things to be said and questions to be answered. I'm ready to go, but don't want to prevent anyone from posting before that happens.

Veskassdak is ready as well. He has his new drink and his new gear. Once they are rested, He is good to go.

Ok so I still want to take the dragon disciple route, but it looks as though I might be taking it later than originally intended. I just have a question relating to the Breath Weapon of Dragon Disciple. From the SRD it says, "At 3rd level, a dragon disciple gains the breath weapon bloodline power, even if his level does not yet grant that power. Once his level is high enough to grant this ability through the bloodline, the dragon disciple gains an additional use of his breath weapon each day."
Also:
"A dragon disciple adds his level to his sorcerer levels when determining the powers gained from his bloodline. If the dragon disciple does not have levels of sorcerer, he instead gains bloodline powers of the draconic bloodline, using his dragon disciple level as his sorcerer level to determine the bonuses gained. He must choose a dragon type upon gaining his first level in this class and that type must be the same as his sorcerer type. This ability does not grant bonus spells to a sorcerer unless he possesses spell slots of an appropriate level. Such bonus spells are automatically granted if the sorcerer gains spell slots of the spell’s level."

Does this mean that the levels are cumulative in this case or would Baird need to gain the breath weapon/claw powers/NA first and then go into dragon disciple?

Sorry for not posting yesterday - somehow didn't find the time to do so. I'll not be at home for a good part of the day today, but I'll hopefully be able to move us forward anyway.

As for the dragon disciple: From my understanding, both levels are added when considering the bloodline powers, i.e. level 7 sorcerer and level 2 disciple would grant you the breath weapon from the draconic bloodline.
Short check: You always have the claw attack before getting dragon bite; you might get your disciple breath weapon before the sorcerer one, and simply gain an additional use if you already have it. Bonuses on natural armor stack, and you'll simply collect them along the way.
Hope that's correct and answers the question.

From what I've reviewed myself on the DD Prc, Silanon Silanon is correct. So the only thing holding you, Clockwork Syringe Clockwork Syringe , back from taking the class is the requirements. So you have to essentially be about to take level 6 since you need Knowledge (arcana) 5 ranks first, and use that level to start your Dragon Disciple Prestige Class progression.

Now I'm set on what I want to do; once I get lvl 5 sorcerer I'm going straight into dragon disciple. Also helps from a story perspective as eventually Baird will be able to transform into a dragon temporarily.

I got to thinking about how tall Veskassdak would be when he got to 100 years old since he's growing at 1 inch per year. He'll be 14 feet and 1 inch. I looked up at what is considered large size and found the cap for large is 16 feet. So I figure when he reaches 124 years old he'll be, in the words of our current president, "Yuge!" };^)

Just a random thought.

In another hundred years, Wren will be six feet under, unless someone works some serious age-reversal magic on her, so I'm not worried.
