OOC (Rebirth of Brilliance)

I really appreciate you guys bearing with me. It's taken up until now since I came back to warm back up to running in a forum like this. I"m getting back in my groove and style. It feels good. Finally.

Let the games begin.

I'm guessing it would be a simple grapple. She's new to feeding and I'm going slow for a chance at the general being saved/getting away

I don't know what my problem is. I'm having such a hard time getting used to the withering attacks vs the decisive. The old 2e habits around changes in initiative feel like they still fit even though it has nothing to do with it.

What a pain.

So, Esbilon Esbilon , you're attack is a withering attack, right?

A Withering Attack is what you used to steal Initiative from your opponent and build up your Decisive Attack.

A Decisive Attack is the one that actually deals damage, using the Initiative that you managed to steal with you Withering Attack.

Right. I know the difference when I define them to myself, but my habit is just to read your attacks as attacks with damage. It's like, no, that's against initiative. It'll just take time to get used to.

Think of it like a fighting game where Initiative is also your Super Meter. You make Withering Attacks to build up your Super Meter, before unleashing it all with a Deceive Attack.

it's definitely counterintuitive, mostly because your attacks are "taking" potential damage to use later, rather than "giving" damage in a more conventional fashion.
