Robin nodded and quickly turned off the lights in the room. " what going on?" He whispered to Shadow as he turnd on the night vision feature of his mask.

Iris put a hand iver mouth as she looked at the mutated animals. It was just cruel, seeing most of them in such terrible shape. SG stayed silent and softly sighed to what she saw, "Alright.. lets get to work.." she said softly as she goes to open the cage but Iris grabs her hand.

"W-wait.. w-what if they a-attack?..." Iris asked quickly letting go SG.

"Right... you stay back as back up to restrain them okay?" SG said to her. Iris gulped and slowly nodded as SG opened the first cage holding two mutated animals.

Shadow looks around and says "Just knock them out cold then we rescue the animals and then we destroy this place", she knocks out a scientist and adds "Besides, Batman did say stealth didn't he?". She really needed Robin's cape to cover her arm, but she could pass it off as injured if she did cover it, plus she wasn't ready to tell the team yet.

The tiger looking creatures growls and backs away, same with the other animals since they're too scared of the two girls.

Robon nodded as she knocked out 2 of the scientists. He handed his cape to Shadow, so they dont have to worry it later when they leave in a hurry.

SG moved out of the way hoping the animal would willing come out of the cage, but kbviously they didn." She sighed a bit as she closed the door and thoight for a minute. She looked at Iris, " Can you use you plant to get them carry the cages out?"

Iris blinked, " Um.. l-like an a-assembly line?.." SG nodded. "Yeah..." Iris said as she used her powers and make several vines leading towards the outside come out of the ground. One of the vines grabbed a cage gently, and handed it off to the other vine which handed to the another vine that lead it outside.

"Artemis, Miss Martian you should part the Bio ship in front of the building. You have some animals coming you way." SG said in the com device.

"Thanks" Shadow mumbles wrapping it loosely around her arm before destroying the machine and she takes a small curled up cat from it teleporting it along with the wolf she sees in the corner to the bioship "So keeping the wolf" she says kicking a scientist Robin's way "Anything that causes fire in that utility belt of yours?" she asks, she didn't since she was scared of fire, but she could deal with it if needed.

Artemis sweatdrops as she says "We parked there just in case, how are the two birds doing?", she hadn't heard from Batman's proteges yet, which was nothing new but with the way Shadow had been acting she was slightly worried.

The cat jumped to her feet and looked around the ship when she got teleported. She went over to the wolf and hide behind her. Miss Martian saw the vines with the animals cages and opened the door to the bioship. The vines gently set the cages down before retracting to get the other cages.

"I havent heard anything from them yet.." SG said. " Ill try contacting them" she added as she watched Iris concentrate in getting the animals out. "Robin, Shadow everything okay?" She then asked.

"Peachy, we are just about to start a fire... so hurry up" he said as he looked at Shadow and nodded before taking out of his boomerang and threw them at some machines.

SG nodded and looked at around as the last mutated animal left the room. "Come on" she said to Iris as they ran off again towards the normal animals' room. She then spoke into the com device, " they are fine, but Robin said he is about to start a fire.."

"Well Shadow was told to destroy the place" Artemis says and she looks at the animals "Someone needs a better hobby" she comments dryly and she spots the other to animals, the wolf trying to hide in a corner, but with no luck since the room isn't dark "I think Shadow let two animals in herself, they're terrified as hell"

Shadow looks around "I thought there were more guards and scientists" she says and narrows her eyes "One of them passed us, he was heading upstairs with what must have been a normal bird" she sayd in the comm "If you see him knock him out too"

"Well it is understand after what they went through.." Megan said as she looked at the terrified wolf.

"I know, but it would have been a good idea to blow the place up when all the animals are out" SG said to as she heard Shadow. "Open the door down the to the right" She said to Iris before disappearing into a white mist.

The scientist arrive on the top floor without much problem. SG reformed behind the scientist and knocked him out. She caught the bird before it was dropped. She sighed in relief and looked at the animal for any injuries.

"Chill I'll wait" Shadow says and she adds "The fire will be contained here until it reaches one of the machines, but it'll spread a lot faster after that, Robin and I will leave after you get the animals out", she looks at the room and rubs her arm slightly, she didn't want to be reminded of what happened to her, but the place wasn't really helping.

Artemis sighs and inspects the two that were teleported in "Hey M'gann, maybe you can figure out why Shadow's acting so strange, she can't always have her guard up and I'm curious as to why she became a hero at that young age" she says and adds "It's okay if you don't want to, since she'll tell us eventually, I hope"

The animal didnt seem to be injured so SG opened the cage to let it fly away. "U-um... I o-opened the d-door. D-do yow w-want me t-to o-open the c-cages?..." Iris asked SG as she stared at all the cages.

"Go ahead. Ill be there in a few seconds" SG said before nodding to Shadow. "Alright, Robin.."

"I know, I know, dont worry" Robin said as he ran with Shadow.

SG nodded, "Good.." she said before seeing the normal animals from the lab Itis is in run out. "Artemis, Megan you should move the Bioship.."

"Already done" Megan said as she heard a hissing sound from the cat that was teleported onto the ship. She scratched at Artemis's hand when the girl tried to inspect them. She was shaking, but still has a stubborn look and glare in her eyes. Megan looked at Artemis, " You should leave those two alone... and I dont want Shadow to be mad at me, so i am willing to wait for her to tell us the truth when she is ready.."

"Are you stupid? The smaller animals will get killed the way, some of them are pets you know" Shadow says and she groans "Rescue them, not let them free, which isn't the same, the animals could have come from anywhere". She wondered why the animals were set free since they would panic and do something stupid, who wouldn't "I'll get them on the ship" she says after checking her arm and she teleports the normal animals to the bioship.

"Expect that could take years" Artemis says and she sighs "But I guess we can't betray her trust, if we even have that" she says sitting down on a chair "After all, she doesn't even trust Robin and Lily with her past" she points out, though she was exactly the same.

SG sweatdropped, "How did they get their hands on pets?.." she mumbled as Iris frowned a disappointed she messed up. SG sighed, " Hey, it's fine. I didn't know either. The only animal I ever handled was an annoying bear that can break the fourth wall.." she said with a groan at the memory. " Come on we should leave so they can blow up the place.." she said as she ran off. Iris followed after her. ".... Shadow are you okay?.." She asked her remembering what she said about her magic.

Robin looked at Shadow, " Are you okay?" He asked the same time at SG. Both were very worried about her.

Megan nodded, "We do have her trust, but not to the enough to know her past" she said to her softly as she looked at the cat who was curled up near the wolf.

"No I'm not" Shadow says and she adds "I'll have Batman worry about it later, but can we take a detour? I wanna drop my new pet at the mountain", she could handle lying to Batman so it wasn't that big of a deal anyway "I thought it was obvious, you know cats and dogs and kept as pets, same as several birds" she says and sweatdrops "We can check for chips at the batcave, if there aren't any we'll go through the list of missing animals, or both at the same time and then if they don't have an owner they'll go back to the pet shop" she explains.

Artemis sighs "I guess, I'm just worried I guess, it's weird to see her worried about something that could possibly cause Robin to hate her" she says "She's normally goes in as one of th first, but she hesitated to go in this time"

"Sure we can" Robin said with a smile even though he was really worried.

"Which animal is she keeping?" SG asked Robin.

"A wolf"

"Heh.. suit her" SG said with a chuckle as her and Iris head up the stairs then towards the exist.

"But you and I both know Robin would never hate her no matter what" Megan with a smile. " And we did get a hit that this place maybe connected to her... So maybe thats why she hesitated"

"Not this place M'gann, it wouldn't be standing otherwise" Shadow says dryly in the comm "Iris, are you and Soldier girl out?" she asks and adds "And I found a perfect one for you too Soldier Girl, well for Lily".

Artemis chuckles "Your comm is on" she says and glances at the animals "But seriously, how is Batman going to get all of them back to normal and how are we getting in the batcave?" she asks.

Shadow rolls her eyes "A tunnel maybe" she says and adds "I'll fly us there after M'gann dropped my wolf at the mountain", she just hoped her arm would be back to normal by then, Bats worried enough about her without that.

Megan blinked, "Oh.. right. My bad.." she said awkwardly to the girl.

Iris blinked, "A-almost out. W-we see the e-exist..." she replied to Shadow nervous as she ran.

SG sweatdropped before asking curiously, " What animal dis gou get Lily?" She asked as they ran out. "And we're out finally" Iris panted tried to catch her breath a bit. "Dont relax until the mission is over" She said to Iris who nodded. Megan opened the door to the Bioship to let the two in.

"Finally, we can blow this place up" Robin said with a small grin as he tookbout a detonator and gave it to Shadow. " you should do the honors"

Shadow looks at Robin and sighs "I'll blow it up from a distance, I don't feel like being stuck in a building that's on fire. Plus I don't want M'gann to accidentally find out about my past. That'd be bad" she says and adds "Also, I got Lily a cat"

Artemis sweatdrops at the two animals "Any reason these two aren't in cage like the rest of them?" she asks and looks at the to that just entered "The wolf and cat are hiding in the corner over there" she says pointing to the animals "Not sure how we're going to get the fact that they won't be turned back to normal past Batman. I'm pretty sure he know how many animals there are in total" she says looking at the others.

Robin nodded, " Still take this and blow it up when you're ready" he said to her as he ran.

" A cat.." SG chuckled. " that's perfect for her.." she said softky as she looked over at the two animals hiding in the corner. The cat hissed at them as she stayed close to the wolf.

Megan sweatdropped, " I am worried about Lily going near the cat.."

"She loves animals and will probably try to get the cat to trust her " SG said as she took step toward the animals making the animal hiss more which slow turned into a growl. SG sweatdropped and took a strp back that calmed the cat down a bit.

"Still think she will gain it's trust?" Megan asked.

" It will be a work in progress.."

Shadow sighs "Well Bats did say I get to destroy it" she says and sighs "But the underground lab is still on fire, so..." she trails of and teleports both her and Robin to the bioship and she lets the explosives go off "Call Bats to say we're coming back and that he has to call Doctor Fate to the batcave" she says wrapping the cape better around her arm. Artemis walks over to Shadow and asks "Did you injure your arm?" "Yeah I did" Shadow says and she sighs as she watches the now destroyed building, it almost looked like the lab she destroyed as a kid, but then she had no idea what would happen if she used too much magic, she hadn't even known what exactly they did to her, that is, until she had accidentally gotten Doctor Fate's attention a few months after she destroyed the lab and he had explained as much as she would understand at that age. Artemis sighs and asks "But if you're injured why do you need to see Doctor Fate?" "Geez Arty, stop with the questions already" Shadow says and she sees the two animals "And I found those in the lab, I think they just finished 'upgrading' those" she says.

Megan flew the Bio ship away from the lab quickly. Iris sat on her chair and looked out the window quietly. SG changed back to Lily, who sighed a bit as she sat down on a chair. "You okay Lily?" The cat blinked at the girl's sudden transformation and tilted her head a bit. She still stayed close to wolf.

"Yeah, just a bit tired. Again never handled any animals before so.." She sweatdropped. " But everything worked out... I am more worried about Shadow" she said as she looked at the girl then at her arm. Robin was also worried about her as well.

"You guys worry too much" Shadow says and Artemis says "You said you injured you arm, but I doubt that since you're not wincing each time you move and you can be glad Kid isn't here or he'd have pulled the cape of already". Shadow sighs and looks down "My arm die hurt, but I'm used to it" she says, she hoped her arm could be fixed the easy way or there was no way she could show up at school tomorrow "Someone should call Batman to tell him we're on our way" she points out. Artemis nods "After we drop those two of at the mountain" she says mentioning to the still scared animals.

"Lets give her some space guy" Megan said as Robin nodded in agreement. The male took the girl's good hand and lead her to a seat sit down at. He sat down next to her still holding her hand, not planning to let go anytime soon.

Lily sat down and looked back at the two animals. She noticed the cat was staring at her intently. She waved at the cat, which hissed at her again. Lily sweatdropped and looked out the window.

Shadow looks down as a screen appears "I see you succeeded" Batman says and he looks at M'gann "I'll send you the flight route Miss Martian, don't make any other stops. But report on the mission"

Artemis sits down and she says "We saved the animals and destroyed the lab, also something's wrong with Shadoe's arm". She looks at Robin and Shadow before looking back at Batman "She said you needed to call Doctor Fate".

Batman nods and looks at his two proteges "Robin, I need you to stay with Shadow, Lily, that means he has to stay at your house too, is that alright?"

Lily blinked and nodded to the male, "Yeah, my parents will be fine with it" she said to the Dark Knight.

Megan nodded to Batman as she looked at the coordinates, " Got it..." she said to him.

"Shadow is going to fine.. Right Bats?" Robin asked as he looked at the screen.

"She will be, if Doctor Fate can fix her arm the easy way it'll be better for her, if not, then you're the only one that can help her" Batman says and he adds "But if he can't fix it she won't be able to go to school until her arm is better".

Shadow nods "I guess that also means no missions for me or patrol" she says, she could live with that since it had happen before.

Artemis looks at Batman and asks "She will tell us eventually right? What happened to her" "When she's ready to do that yes, but Robin and Lily should be the first to know" Batman says before looking at Shadow "And yes, no patrol or missions for you" he adds closing the screen again "Let's go to the mountain first" Artemis says.

Megan nodded and headed to the mountain first. Robin looked at Lily, " Sorry for the inconvenience Lily."

Lily shook her head wih a smile, " I dont mind. You and Shadow can stay in the same guest room if you want"

Robin smiled a bit, " Thanks Lily."
