Other Sound Cloud Support (Media Embed)

Hello, just wondering if Soundcloud is no longer able to be supported on this new platform. I remember it was supported as an "Embed" before the switch, but now the media does not accept SoundCloud links. Is it just a no-go?

Went ahead and made it 50 percent so it can be centered and other stuff as dseired by the person using soundcloud links.

A quick test of the SoundCloud integration.

What a thrill...
With darkness and silence through the night
What a thrill...
I'm searching and I'll melt into you
What a fear in my heart
But you're so supreme!

I'd give my life
Not for honour, but for youuuuuu!
In my time there'll be no one else
Crime, it's the way I fly to youuuuu!
I'm still in a dream,
Snake Eater!

Someday you go through the rain
And someday, you feed on a tree frog
This ordeal, the trial to survive
For the day we see new light!

I'd give my life
Not for honour, but for youuuuuu!
In my time there'll be no one else
Crime, it's the way I fly to youuuu!
I'm still in a dream,
Snake Eater!

I am still in a dream,
Snake Eaterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

Snake Eater...

Yeah, the Soundcloud embeds are a lot smaller and more compact than putting things directly from YouTube. It's great for music. It has music you might not be able to find anywhere else, and if something you want isn't there, you can go upload it yourself! Just make sure to give credit when you do. Explore it! It's a very versatile place for choosing and using music!

this is also great for people like me when you want to put down voices for characters or if you make a background sound for battle and such, you just tell people when to play the file and bingo, or if there are choices that they could make you can even make spoilers as to hide different responses.

Hey DWiz, sorry for coming out of nowhere, especially on an old thread, but I'm trying to embed a certain track, and the code isn't working. I'm not sure if it's the wonky link itself with the random symbols, but can it be fixed by any chance? This is what I tried to code.

Code:
https://soundcloud.com/ocremix/2-05-a-kingdom-fallen-sixto?in=ocremix/sets/final-fantasy-ii-rebellion

[MEDIA=soundcloud]https://soundcloud.com/ocremix/2-05-a-kingdom-fallen-sixto?in=ocremix/sets/final-fantasy-ii-rebellion[/MEDIA]

Thanks for taking the time to read this!

I played around with it and you are spot on. The problem is with the link itself. From what I see, that question mark is causing the issue. But the track's address is written with the question mark in it --> meaning if you remove the question mark, you won't find the track.

From what I know in my time with Soundcloud, normally tracks just have Soundcloud's URL, the user's name that uploaded it, then the track name. The one you want, has a special command with that question mark included. So the user is trying to do something fancy that's causing trouble =/.

It's up to you, but if it's really a track you wanted, reupload it yourself. Then you can take that link and embed it here like normal. I wouldn't suggest doing that without the proper permissions, but again it's up to you. Otherwise, try to find a duplicate someone else already has with a clearer URL, or try Youtube to find it.

Yeah, I tried messing with shorter versions, too, and nothing worked. I even tried a long number in the HTML code that may have been an alternative (and cleaner) address to get rid of the question mark, but that ended up backfiring. It's a pity that all of the tracks from the uploader are in that format, but oh well. I do appreciate the pretty quick reply, thanks so much!

Is this what you want?

I can't see it since I'm on my phone and it looks kinda wonky, but it seems like that's it! I'll check it out once I'm at home!

Sorry for the double reply, but thanks! How'd you know that cutting the link up to there would work?

You're welcome. :33:
Links just work that way. When a question mark appears in a URL, it's calling in some kind of code to be used in the page. YouTube, for example, uses it to link to videos starting at a specified time. In this case, it's just SoundCloud putting it in a playlist.

Thank you for that as well. It's nice discovering new things. I really appreciate that.
