As the choppers carried everyone through the sky to a safe place The view of the warehouse district looked horrible, smoke and flames shooting into the sky and buildings that surrounded the warehouse where they had been were now engulfed in Flames.

SOON....
A new sight greets the rescued....

The Taskforce 11 HQ is just outside Detroit, about a hour’s drive away from the center of the city. The site of the HQ was formerly the childhood home of Melissa's, with good views of the surrounding area, the nearest habitation aside from the occasional farm house being twenty minutes walk away. The grounds of the HQ are green and verdant having been landscaped by renowned artist Edgar Barreto Jr. Close to the main buildings of the site there is a formal garden and sports facilities including an all-weather, floodlit playing field, tennis courts and a basket ball court. Further away from the buildings the grounds are more like a country park, gravel and bark paths wind through thickets and copses of trees and through the undulating landscape. A large, man-made boating lake is also on the grounds and the grassland is dotted with works of modern sculpture.

Xavier House (Copy)

The three story TF11 Mansion is named Xavier House, after Professor Xavier, the inspiration behind the formation of the new team. It is a grand building that was built in 1995 and boasts 14,465 square feet of living space with 16 bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, 10 fireplaces, 10-car garage, 2 swimming pools, formal gardens and more.

The ground floor is mostly given over to briefing rooms and conference facilities but also includes a gym and a well stocked Library.

The second and third floors of the building is the living area of the house and contain moderately sized bedrooms for each of the team-members with private bathing facilities as well as a large, well-equipped kitchen and a state of the art lounge with HDTV, surround sound and the latest electronics.

On the third floor is a well-appointed games room with billiards/pool table, dart board, card table and indoor skittles. One half of the third floor of the building is given over to offices and small meeting rooms and it is here that Melissa has her office, as well as other administrative stuff.

Exterior of Main Meeting Room

In the lower house level of the new 'X-Mansion', across from the gazebo that oversees the outdoor pool, is the entrance to the team meeting room. It is a temporary setup, but one that is similar to what will eventually exist in the underground portions of the mansion, once those are completely constructed and ready for use.
Several rooms were claimed for the meeting hall, and though it seats far more people than are currently present in the mansion, it is clear to see how easily the room could be re-purposed to other accommodations once the full X-facility is completed.

The temporary room, though, is still very modern, providing all the best equipment modern technology can provide. The large oval table is empty in the middle, providing a space for the overhead holographic projector to create hi-resolution 3D holographic images. There is also a large screen television that is usually recessed into the wall, but can be brought out to allow full team viewing. It is connected to several television receivers to ensure constant news coverage, and can be segmented into smaller screens for multi-tasking. The computer system connected through the house is some of the most advanced equipment confiscated thus far from Monolith's stockpiles. It is capable of providing multi-mission support as well as streaming data from suit computers. There are also radio broadcasters and receivers to allow for full two-way or multi-way communication.

The seats are all comfortable and specially reinforced to accommodate larger or denser mutants, though those mutants who are far larger than normal - or are unable to adequately reduce their size- will have to remain standing or attend meetings remotely for the time being. Lighting is abundant, but not overly harsh, and can be dimmed. The ambient temperature is kept comfortable, but slightly cool due to the fact that during most meetings, the recently designed X-suits are typically worn.

The Facility

The Facility

Underneath Xavier House is the TF11 Facility, two levels of secret, reinforced laboratories, garages and the like. Access to the Facility is gained via two lifts, one disguised as a bookcase by the monumental staircase, and another in a recessed niche in one of the briefing rooms.

The top level of the facility contains the garage with a hidden access ramp that opens up inside a disguised thicket in the grounds near the mansion. Also on this level are a pair of state-of-the-art scientific laboratories, a multi-media briefing room, the armory and the Danger Rooms.

The bottom level of the facility contains security and surveillance rooms, the mainframe room and other technical and support facilities.

Kam's aunt spoke through the headset to Rogue. FarFlungDreamer FarFlungDreamer
"Welcome to the DDF or Daragon Defense Force Helo. I'm Clarissa. We're one of, if not the only human group still willing to work together with mutants. Seeing that you're a lady of secrets, I'll let you in on mine. Kam, the guy back there, asleep, he's my nephew. His mom was human. Got executed by a mock brotherhood for "illegal mutant relations", poor gal. He'll tell you his name's Kam Darag. It's short for Kamodo Daragon. Here we are. James'll show you guys around after you get all better at the med bay. There's Ralph, the head of security." She pointed to a business-looking man down below flanked by several security and medical staff complete with stretchers. "He'll get everyone to the med bay safe and sound. I'll be in to check on you guys every now and then. Oh yeah, we've got state of the art mutant-friendly medical technology, so you guys'll be good to go in no time."

Kam still was sleeping in the back. Unnoticed before, a small red spot started growing in his abdomen from where some shrapnel from the massive explosion had hit him.

"You know. It was my idea to split up." Jo finally spoke up to Blaze while they hovered in the air. Her voice was raised to account for the rushing winds that generally accompanies a flying helicopter. If they hadn't split up maybe they wouldn't have been caught, they were pretty good at not getting caught up until then.

Jo's eyes darted about out the window, keeping an eye out for any Monolith activity and gently stroking Oy's surprisingly soft fur. It wasn't long before dilapidated city buildings made way for trees and fields. Jo found herself finally starting to relax, when her eyes fell on...a mansion? Brows furrowed, this is not at all what she had been expecting. Her imagination concocted a decrepit building, perhaps headquarters pieced together by shipping containers. Ya know, another Sh** hole kinda like the one they just left but with 'friendlies' instead.

But this, this was just obnoxious. "Alright, who's the Richie Rich here?" Jo called out among the other sardines stuffed in the flying can, eyes darting back out the window to take in the grounds.

"Oh my god, B. It's even got an Alfred!" She shook her sister's shoulder excitedly as she spotted the spiffy dressed gentleman waiting for their arrival. "This chopper is going to need to land, a lot of these people could use medical attention."

Usually having both feet firmly planted on the ground is Blaze's preferred mode of transportation. While her sister looked out the window, Cora concentrated on Oy. He lay with his head on Sparks' lap and his butt on Blaze.

Her mid section was exposed, the olive skin mottled with black bruises in various stages of healing. Some were already yellowing and relatively painless. She had ripped the bottom half of her tank top off and balled it up. Oy protested mildly when she pressed it against the wound on his flank but bore it stoically enough. His ears laid back against his skull, focusing on the gentle petting that her sister was delivering. The bleeding was slowing but not stopping which indicated he would probably need stitches.

Blaze ignored her sisters explanation of her apology because it was unnecessary. The Monolith would have gotten to them whether they were together or apart. The only difference might have been that she would have been killed trying to protect Jo. The beatings they had received were severe but luckily they didn't have to watch.

She was jarred from her thoughts by Sparks' aggressive yanking, igniting fresh pain in her ribs. "What, dude? Injured he-." Her angry rant cut off mid sentence as she looked where her sister was pointing. Her sense of anxiety increased ten fold. This was the opposite of laying low. This was just asking to be a target and they were putting all of their eggs in one basket by keeping all of the mutants in one spot. One bomb wouldn't even need to be well placed to take out the majority of the rescued and rescuers alike. She let out an angry sigh and sat back, waiting for the helicopter to land. Rich people. She thought to herself disgustedly.

Lady of secrets? Rogue didn't know about that, but she did enjoy a little personal space. Course, there were plenty of people's secrets locked up in this head of hers... so maybe that could put in on the count. She nodded as she told her about the place and the people within. It all felt a little too close to home, a big mansion, someplace that might help... it set Rogue on edge more than it put her at ease. But every rich feller could have a mansion, she just was biased. It made her awfully homesick, though.

"Thank ya kindly," Rogue responded politely, and helped get everyone who was injured to medical attention. She for one, was real happy to know she wasn't one of them that did need the help. Once everyone was settled Rogue made it her job to poke around the place. She trusted James, really she did. He was a good guy, and the group he'd gotten together with were good people too. But she didn't like that he had another sister who might know somethings. One who was working with the Monolith. That took her just before dawn, and she was pretty satisfied with her search, the few people she ran into were helpful and not withholding.

But she needed to cut herself short as she needed to go to the woods. Wait and see if Jaimie, as the little girl had told her mentally, had found her friend and was waiting. Her phone rang on her flight over and Rogue veered down into the treeline as she picked it up. They got together, and the girl seemed only mildly surprised so see that Rogue had come back. They made their way back to the mansion, and Rogue was surprised to find it very hard to get to within the forest. Made her wonder how many people knew it was there. Might be the reason James picked this place after all.

She brought Jaimie to the medical station, and who she said was Gabe. Even if she wasn't physically hurt, or him, they were both likely malnourished from their time in the prison. Rogue stepped through the door and glanced around the room as she looked to see who was up or resting.

"Geez, this place is ridiculous,"
The girl, Jaimie spoke up, scoffing a little as she looked over the in depth detail of the trim on the door. Rogue just smile and walked over to see if Kam was alright. He'd been given an IV it looked like. Dragonlord318 Dragonlord318

Sebastian gratefully accepted Rogue's help getting into the helicopter that came out of nowhere. He eased himself into one of the seats and, while it wasn't very comfortable, quickly slipped into a light sleep. It seemed only a few minutes before the helicopter was touching down near a massive mansion. He was instantly awake, trying to take it all in at once. "I...thought we were going back to headquarters." He said quietly, not really looking for anyone to explain it to him. After all, since he had been found in the forest, he had pretty much been dragged along without anything being explained. It was only natural that he would have to figure this out on his own too.

He followed everyone to what ended up being some sort of medical bay. Obviously this wasn't just some random millionaire's house. He wondered briefly if there was a weapons room somewhere before he was approached by someone in a nurse's outfit.
"I'm okay." He said quickly, eyeing the IV someone was putting into the unconscious mutant's arm. That wasn't entirely true, but he knew he wouldn't really feel better until he had slept it off. Besides he could deal with a little discomfort, especially when food was in the fore-front of his mind.

Blaze kept close to her sister during most of the confusion involved in getting everyone off the helicopter. She followed the instructions of people waving them on, Oy close at her heels. His honey colored eyes were darting around, aiming to protect his master even through his injury. His right back leg had been grazed by a bullet during the fight where the prisoners were held and it was still bleeding a slow but steady stream. When they got to the medical bay Blaze returned the compress to the wound.

A nurse bustled up to them almost as soon as they sat down brandishing a large needle that Blaze balked at immediately. She was not afraid of needles but she'd had enough hurts. None of them life threatening or in need of anything more than time. And food, she thought as her stomach cramped painfully. The fight had drained her, and her powers were sapping more strength than she had. What she needed was food and a safe place to rest. But first; "My dog," Blaze said, waving away the needle and directing the nurses attention to Oy. " He needs stitches." The nurse paused for only a moment and Blaze thought she would have to threaten the prissy bitch but she mentally shook herself and bent down to examine the wound.

"Be still," Blaze told Oy and he sniffed the air around the nurses face as she came in close. After the brief inspection he lay his head in Spark's lap while the nurse worked, his big bully muzzle open in a grin as he panted. She felt a pang of sorrow for her four legged companion. How many days had he been alone and afraid? How long has it been since he had a meal and water to drink? Rage began to creep into her chest and she pushed it down until it burned in her belly. Now was the time to heal, not fight.

"Is your dog alright?" A light voice broke into her thoughts and Blaze turned her eyes to the girl who had spoken to her. She had spoken to Sparks earlier she thought. But maybe not, too many new faces to keep track of.

"We're fine." Her words came out sharper than she meant them but she made no move to explain herself. Her eyes left the girl to continue on her way and focused on Oy. Luckily the nurse was efficient and Oy was finished with his wound care and Blaze smiled in relief and glanced over at her sister. "You need to get those ribs bandaged." She told her, surprised that no one had approached her just yet. Blaze directed the nurse toward her sister. "Let her help you, I need food." Blaze rose, gingerly tried out a stretch and began walking down the hall through a line of people she semi recognized. She was more interested in finding a vending machine for Sparks to break into than she was in having a conversation and continued away from the crowd, Oy still limping at her heels.

As he finally took in his surroundings and got his bearing, Kam slowly got out of bed and motioned for one of the nurses to take the IV out of his arm. She did...reluctantly. He stood up and stretched, the mass of nutrients in the solution finally kicking in. He looked compassionately and Blaze and Sparks, nodded to Rogue and proceeded to walk to the lower level where he'd be sleeping.

The girl replied shortly, and Jaimie shrugged it off, recognizing the defensive rebuttal. After all how many times had Jaimie shrugged off a stranger that way? Someone asking too many questions about the dirty orphan girl trying to keep it quiet that she lived with a group of mutants on the streets. She understood all too well.

She slid off the medical table, landing on the floor heavily as she strode towards one of the people who had saved them. She meant to go ask Rogue, who seemed like she might be leading this charade, or at least know about it but she seemed busy talking to someone in the corner who was with the girl Melissa who she'd been with in the cell.

Jaimie really wanted to know what was going on around here, and their rescuer/dragon seemed like he might know. So she caught up to him before he disappeared from the room. "So, what is this place? How do you know the Monolith won't find us here?"

He looked down at the woman that ran up beside him and asked her question. FarFlungDreamer FarFlungDreamer
He responded in a gentle, yet even tone, "Monolith knows we are here. However, they also know it would be suicide to come near the Daragon family. We've shared this property with James and his sister for several years, since we met. Monolith hates us, but knows we have enough firepower to stop as many as they would send. This level of the mansion is only the tip of the iceberg. There are tactical areas only accessible by certain mutants and those of the Daragon lineage."
As he said this, he put his palm up to a blank wall and a hand reader scanned his palm. "You may enter. This is a common area. We just haven't taken the scanner off yet." A portion of the wall recessed and slid open, revealing an ornate sitting room filled with food.

They knew? Shocked, she reeled back a bit, staring suddenly around as if they're lured her into another trap. Maybe she'd have been safer on the streets! How much would they risk though! If they knew their prisoners were here... They didn't, but even one powerful mutant might lure them, if they had the resources and the time to surprise them here at this mansion. Especially so close to one of their bases...

It worried her safe to say.

As he carried on about the different areas of the house and showed her some sort of scanner to get into it she grew less worried. Not by much, she still felt wary, but maybe they knew what they were doing here. The tour to her seemed more of a fortress than a house.

"Impressive, but don't you worry they'll come one day, thinking they have you all off guard?"

"Believe me, they've tried," he said as he sat down at a seat at the table, "and failed." His aunt came in shortly thereafter. "I knew you wouldn't be cooped up in the med bay for more than you needed to," she chuckled. "Well, hello there," she said to Jaimie. "I'm Clarissa." she extended a hand in greeting as Kam prayed over his food and began absentmindedly stuffing his face ravenously.

"Gotta respect that," Jaimie muttered to herself and took a small step to the side to check out the surrounding room. It seemed just as impressive and over the top as the other floors she had seen. It was better than watching this guy eat, although it reminded her absently she hadn't eaten since days before her attack and capture. But it was something she was used to.

"Jaimie," She said a little shortly, and hesitantly took her hand quick only to drop it just as quickly. People weren't exactly her strong suit, especsilly someone new who handy rescued her. "Who're you around here?"

Clarissa smiled. "Jaimie, it's a pleasure to meet you. I'm the leader of H-RAM, or Human Resistance Against the Monolith." She notice Jaime's face at the sight of Kam eating. "Please, don't mind my nephew. He needs quite a bit of food just to operate normally."
A burp from the table followed by "Scuse me," punctuated this remark. Clarissa chuckled. "He can lose himself if he gets too hungry. Its not a pastime, I assure you. It is actually necessary for his health to eat this much food. Kam, be a dear and eat a little more slowly. It's not running away, I assure you."
He blushed and sheepishly nodded. A full-mouthed "sorry" could be heard, followed by a more intelligible repeat of the same once the food was swallowed.
