Fandom Number Hunters (OOC Chat)

Pokémon is seemingly timeless and literally in Ash's case. He never gets any older or evolves in which he still learns the same lessons, it seems to me anyway. But still a good show though I'm lost on the style it's in now. It's way different compared to past generations.

Digimon I remember well, though I didn't watch it much. Do you recall Duel Masters or that Byakugan game/show? The one with those beyblade like little ball characters. But yeah CW was channel 30 for me and went through several channel names but Saturday morning was basically the same. But not sure if Arc V shows on it anymore... I see on a nickelodian extra channel but haven't watch morning CW in a few years now.

Haha true. It sounds curious A idea, but always a chance for a bust. But hopefully it works out, it'd be cool to see how long a yugioh series can keep going since I started on that and Pokémon. Actually duels with yugioh might of helped my math during my early years growing up, since it required constant math anyway.

Agreed!

Sounds cool

Yeah he's got the experience and taste for nasty of number hunters and such characters, but he's not really like that beyond his exterior and perhaps grew out of his hunter days? If that is making sense In the way I mean it. But yeah, the duo could be beneficial for both sides.

The Sun and Moon anime isn't too bad, at least I don't think so? It can get pretty dark actually. Episode 21 made me cry, not gonna lie.

Digimon was a huge part of my childhood. I watched it just as much as Pokemon back in the day. Oh yeah! I remember that show! People called it a rip-off of Pokemon and Digimon I think? The same could be said for Dinosaur King, which was another really good anime I gotta say.

We'll have to wait and see in due time friendo. I hope it works out well like the other spin-offs have in the past.

That makes sense. I can see it working out for both of them to be honest with you. But we'll see as the roleplay goes on. We've only just started after all.

The Silent Z The Silent Z

Thank you for the offer, but I'm not familiar with the sequels and wouldn't feel comfortable butchering anything up. If you find anything relating to the original series, however, I would be more than happy to sign up. ^^

(Speaking of, my idea will currently be put on hold for now, it seems. I would really want to get some more characters in before taking off. Thanks for reminding that I should put in an update to let everyone else know, it'd really suck to have them think I dropped it!)

Aw man. But that's okay! I understand that. I might make a RP based around the original series at some point later down the road and I'll be sure to let you know when I do.

I've seen just a few episodes of the series for Sun and Moon. It's not that's it bad, just way different and takes some adjusting is all. But sounds like I'm still quite new, as I only saw touch of two episodes and it wasn't all the way through on those two, since Rl came up or something can't recall exactly.

Digimon, I watched from time to time, but guess it didn't stick like some others did. Duel masters was a cool show and had a nice game. Card and video game. Byakugan was kinda cool, I played the game and liked it on PS2 or was it 3? Either it way it was good. It did have similar element to those, but had some nice differences.

Dinosaur king? I kinda remember it, but never really saw it.

True ^^

Ah, that makes sense. I will agree there, the style is new and will take some time to get used to. But I kinda like it? It's different from the normal stuff we're used to seeing in the past, I suppose?

I watched Digimon way too much for my own good back in the day. So much that I became a huge fan over it. Byakungan was a good show as well. I really enjoyed it. if I remember right, the theme song was super catchy too. XD

Dinosaur King was basically like a mix of Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh but with cute little dinosaurs. I recently began watching that anime again. Might make a RP for it in the future. Who knows.

Yee! ^^

True, but no problems there. If more join cool or if they don't still cool.

Same goes for me. I Posted about it in the 'Looking for Group' area to see if it'll catch more people's eyes and see if we can't get more people to join. But again if not, that's fine too. You and I will have a blast ether way.

True. I'll see when it's on next and watch more of it, time will likely make it better and more sense to me. They have some interesting Pokémon as always. The girls fear of touching Pokémon was a unique twist though.

I'm going to google that theme now, I can't recall it. Haha but agreed, it was a good show. While Digimon is still going isn't it? Or was that a old series I saw on TV guide? Idk.

Ah I see, kinda rings a bell. I think cbs had it on tv years back, I think ? Maybe I saw a mintue or two of it. Not sure though

It really was. You can watch the episodes on YouTube actually. It's a lot easier than waiting for it to show up on TV again. But that's just me?

I can't recall the theme for the life of me either. But I think it was pretty catchy back when I heard it as a child? Then again, I haven't heard it since I was a kid and that was years ago, giving how I'm 21 now. Digimon is still going on actually. I think there's a spin-off of it now called Appmon?

CW played it way back in the day. I love the theme song for it too. It's so catchy. XD

Oh? I use YouTube more often lately to watch this British comedy I recently heard of and am really into now. But never was 100% on which shows would actually be able to watch fully. Haven't reallly tried honestly. But yeah, YouTube I should check and use for it, I've no idea the schedule for Pokémon and such anime anymore... It's been too long since I regularly watch them.

Yeah I'm a bit older then you, but it's the same boat here. Years have passed since watching these shows when they were still out and on a updated basis. So themes are hard to recall.

Haha appmon? Wow. Sounds like a name for a mobile app for digimon. Appmon the source for everything Digimon, so you can keep up with your favorite anime while on the go. Haha

CW had the Saturday audience with all the anime and mangas back then. Dating back to the WB for kids or whatever it was called.

Catchy themes indeed

Kit-Kat Kit-Kat hey, this looks pretty cool! im a little confused on the Numbers themselves though, like:
how many of them, are all of our characters "assigned" one of them, and ... do we just kinda make one up?

okay, little embarrassing, but I honestly didn't realize the number cards were actual things w o o o p s

null111 null111 Yes, Number cards are any actually thing. No worries though, it's totally okay! No, your character doesn't have to start out with a Number card at all if you don't want them to. There's only one card of every Number so if a character has one you want, then I suggest you go find that character and duel them for it. Currently only Number 37 and 39 are taken. I suggest looking at the wiki to find the rest of the Number cards.

SolemnSongbird SolemnSongbird Awesome! Glad to see that you're up for joining us in this little adventure! Given how this is based around the Zexal timeline where XYZ monsters were a thing, I would prefer that yes, but no, you don't have to. Though if not, I'm unsure how you would be able to summon Number cards, if your character has them, or anything else really considering XYZ summoning was the many thing in Zexal. But we can work something out I'm sure? I' m like 99% sure Yasuo doesn't even have a deck that's XYZ based. But that's for plot reasons to give her room to grow and improve as the RP goes on, since she's just a beginner at dueling right now. Anyway, again, no, you don't have to. But it's preferred. It's your choice in the end.

I mostly use YouTube to watch TV shows on nowadays. I don't really watch a whole lot of TV anymore considering how I live online 24/7. That or I use it to watch random videos. Let's Plays, music, animation, you name it I suppose. I could give you a link to Pokemon to watch if you wished? Or anything else for that matter. I'm loaded with stuff.

It's super rare for me to meet someone that's around the same age as me, or older. Most of the people I talk to tends to be younger, but I still like a lot of the 'kid' stuff as my family calls it, so that's understandable I guess? Duuude, back when CW was Kid's WB, oh my StarClan. I remember that so much. I would watch Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh on it like every Saturday. That and other cartoons of course. I mostly just remember watching those two, but I'm sure I watched more.

To be honest with you, from like the five minutes I've watched of Appmon, I think that's totally what it's about or something? Kinda weird, but different I guess? From what I saw, Digimon would appear inside or outside of an app or whatever and cause trouble? I don't really remember. But it seemed like an interesting idea, if a little strange, even for Digimon.

Indeed. I miss themes like that. I mean, themes nowadays can be super catchy too, but it's kinda rare? I think so at least. Could just be me. Most likely is too. XD

YouTube has a lot of stuff to watch. Plus it has easy access with most devices and being a standard thing with most phones as in place apps. But thanks! I think I found some last night for episodes. But I'll keep you in mind in the future if I do need one or something else for that matter from YouTube. ^^

Haha yeah. I often assume people are younger then me by some years or least younger. Since most times I'm of the older side of the forum life with people I meet online. But yeah, WB was a huge hit and had the best schedule for the old hits. I still recall Jackie chan adventures and Xiolon showdown along with older toons from the 90's. Great stuff! But yugioh and Pokémon were the main two for me as well.

Naruto. On the best years of Cartoon Network was another major anime/manga with me. But yeah, it's kid stuff as people would say, but childhood memories and enjoying some of that old stuff is still ring strong for us all I think.

Seriously? Wow. Interesting and realistic stuff there.

Themes can be the catchiest form of music. Old toon and anime themes, wrestler themes, tv series themes... a lot of awesome stuff there!

Sounds like a plan friendo! But that's very true. YouTube is super easy to get a hold of, so I prefer watching that than actual shows on TV. Makes things a hell of a lot easier for me and other people too I'm sure.

Same. I'm like the oldest out of the people I talk with, but I see no harm in that. All good friend, talking and RPing stuff like this. Jackie Chan Advetures and Xiolon Showdown was a super great shows back in the day. I remember the first being on like CartoonNetWork at one point? Or was it on Disney? I don't really remember.

Naruto was super great back in the day. I think it still is actually. That and Bleach. Not to mention One Piece, Dragon Ball Z and so many others.

For real though. Seemed pretty cool from what I've seen.

Totally! One a sidenote, I have a character coming soon for this RP. He's going to be apart of the Grevix family.

I might join, but a few things need to be cleared up.

1: How do you handle duels? Do you RP it out or are you going to default to a simulator?
2: Do the Numbers in this RP go by 'Numbers can not be destroyed unless by numbers' thing or...?
3: Status of ranking up? That was a big deal in ZeXal.

Might use Leviathan Dragon 'cause first ever number that showed up.

Thanks for considering to join the RP!

1. Since not everyone can use a dueling network, such as Saru and I can't, duels will be planned out between the two people that are taking part in said duel. You can ether write out the duel between what you and the other person have talked about, or simply skip over it with the winner having already been decided from planning it out. It's up to you and the other person you're going to duel.

2. Yes. It follows that role. Numbers can only be destroyed by other Numbers. Not to say that you won't lose Life Points if you get attacked by a normal Monster that's stronger than your Number card. So there's that too.

3. Oh yeah. I totally forgot about the ranking up thing Zexal also had. Given that information, I haven't come up with a status for that yet. Open to ideas though.

By all means. That dragon is free and hasn't been taken yet.

Also, I love how your profile picture is of Cathy.

Good, I wanted to hear that.

Fair enough.

Ayyy.

Anyway, I'm currently bouncing ideas back and forth about either a power hungry duelist who uses Leviathan dragon, or a barian/human duo which use an over-hundred numbers and Antitopian. I'll decide by the time I'm home.

If you wish, you could use both? You could have a power hungry duelist who used Leviathan Dragon, and then another Barian/Human duo that has over-hundred Numbers and Antitopian. You're allowed up to three characters right now, profile wise, so by all means, go with both if you want.
