Herotales: Divided Lines

"Impressive isn't it" Rike mocks in a rather smug tone. He called back the teaser cables with the press of the button, the weapon now inactive until it was recharged. If Rike's luck still stood it might have some charge. Rike manoeuvred in front of Mega-Girl as jetted to avoid the attack. "Really you think I do this to survive, my dear pink pillock I do this for two reasons, the rich deserve they 'just' gotten gains as much if less than I do, plus it is a barrel of fun," he says in his refine tone coming across as condescending. The naivety of this young woman knew no bounds, fooling her would make candy from a baby look like stealing the Mona Lisa. A tinge of fear did hit The Phantom after all this high powered weapon could knock him like nothing else he had faced before. He prayed the God's thanks it has missed. "Warning shot maybe I've captured the great heroes attention I do look good in this suit, no maybe I've struck at her morals," he says as he looks down the roof. "Wait here," he says as he hops off the said roof. In a few moments, he returned, cans of soda in hand. "Truce?".

"Well... It affects my vision greatly, but I can see an outline of you. I'm not COMPLETELY blind, ya know." Dante says to the super, swiftly pulling his hand off of him as he feels a surge of electricity rushing through his arm.

"Hm... weird. It's not hurting me as much as it should. Like a bee sting."

Jack was silent for a few moments. Not sure if this guy was being serious or not. He came to a sound conclusion for now. "Look guy blind or not I don't care stop following me. Even if you aren't here to recruit me just leave me be. I mean if you want to talk in the future you can find me in a greenhouse where I work with my sister. Just go back to G.S.U.N for now. It's going to be a waste of energy for you. And I would personally hate to hear a Hero was lackluster due to them chasing me."

  • Lunch Break
Hilbert would finish his form and turn it in to the front desk. He would then look to Misty and thought about heading to the cafeteria. "Well that sounds about nice. I could sure use some grub right about now." It had certainly been awhile since he last ate so it would be best if he had got some food.

Achyuta groaned, obviously not happy with the constant problems that seemed to be cropping up. "I'm not hungry, he's not hungry, so don't waste ou-" Before he knew it, Hilbert was contradicting his claim and Misty was already walking off, leaving him feeling rather stupid. He took in a deep breathe to reinforce his patience before following after the two, tracking his steps as the group made their way into the compound. Unsurprisingly, it wasn't long before they found the cafeteria, which was empty except for a few disgruntled workers and a pallid girl who was doling out the muck they were supposed to be eating. "I said I'm not hungry," Achyuta growled underneath his breath, glaring at the woman behind the counter. She looked like something someone cut out of a goth magazine and then pasted into a high-tech sci-fi article. Her attire was almost as pleasing to the eyes as she herself was... Which meant not at all, in Achyuta's case. He ground his teeth in frustration and plopped down in a seat, waiting for the two to say they were done. In the meantime, he went into his satchel and cracked open a random book, not bothering to read the title and allowing himself to simply be immersed in it.

Morph shrugged at Misty. "Eh, I've got nothing better to do right now. I'm not due for a meal for awhile. Might as well." She leaned off of the receptionist desk with a casual grunt and nodded. "Sure thing."

Sanshiro looked over at Yumi with a sideways glance, already having finished unpacking his meager supplies, which was mostly just weapons with the occasional Japanese snack, as well as his phone and communicator. He grunted.

"私はそのような関係を追求することに興味がない。私は彼女のような女性は望んでいない。"
((Watashi wa sono yōna kankei o tsuikyū suru koto ni kyōmi ga nai. Watashi wa kanojo no yōna josei wa nozonde inai.))
((I am not interested in pursuing such a relationship. I do not want a woman like her))

Sanshiro looked over at his weapons, as if scanning them for blemishes, before nodding with a satisfied grunt and sitting down on his bed. He was unsure of what to do here. Downtime was often frustrating for him. He disliked not having an aim. He was much more content on a mission.

Max entered into GSUN and observed a small group walking off. Is that a tour group of some kind? He quickly gathered that the leader was a receptionist of some kind, and apparently there was a form to fill out? He wanted to speak to her, but his anxiety swiftly grabbed a hold of his heart. He paused and ended up simply kind of standing in place, looking at Misty and occasionally making a step forward only to step back as if he was disinterested, too nervous to actually approach her.

Dante was surprised of the Super's request, given his efforts to catch up to him. "Fine... If there's one thing that I can assure you, it's that I'm reasonable."

Dante backs away slowly as he gestures to the super. "Perhaps we will meet again someday, when the circumstances are more fitting."

Dante makes his way down the stairs and back towards the lobby, hopefully where the secretary still awaits him.

Across the street from G.S.U.N
"Ugh finally. I never dreamed a year would last so long. Best get the low down from Nega." Darren stepped off immediately feeling the heat of home hitting him. It was enough to make him grin. Where he had been stationed was much cooler so this change was very welcome to him. Darren decided to keep walking and get to a place to change into Aegis. He couldn't enter G.S.U.N like this. Luckily there were some bathrooms nearby so he chose to enter them and get changed. He came back out in his Aegis attire. His face mostly covered up leaving only his mouth visible. Given he was now Aegis he had nothing to worry about and walked into G.S.U.N.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jack nodded happy he was out of the issue. "My lord that was the 5th one this week. G.S.U.N must be desperate if they want me." Jack sighed before walking back to work. Somewhat happy because the super chased him closer to his job. "Thanks blind super. I at least know I can't be late now.

Nega chuckled internally, almost sensing his excitement in his voice (though not HOW excited this boy was) and being somewhat charmed by it.

"Well, first, you can accompany me to G.S.U.N and then fill out some paperwork and we see how you like it!" Nega gently laughed while explaining and extending his offer.

"I know its not exactly your cup of tea, being all Mr. Solo, but I think it would benefit you greatly to have a crew of Supers, preferably more experienced, by your side... Especially if you run into the more powerful villains, like you did today," Nega pointed out the benefits of Maestro joining G.S.U.N, adding, "Does that sound appealing to you?"
He listens intently and after the explanation, nods. "I'd love that!" He said, then clears his throat and tries not to sound so excited. "I-I mean, yeah, that works. I'm ready to head there if you are." He said with a shrug. "I managed to clean up most of the carnage here anyway." He said, looking to this 'Nega'character and thanking the heavens for sending him.

"Er, uh, wells, A-ah didn't actually mean we were gonna stahp t' eat, but...uh... s-sure...?" Misty blinked at this strange young man who filled out his forms as Hilbert, not exactly turning him down for food, and it WAS pretty much lunch time... She liked him better than the OTHER boy, Achyuta (or so his form said), at least. He was grumpy.

She was happy Morph was going to tag along, and was surprised when ANOTHER boy kinda decided to join in the party as well!

G.S.U.N sure was popular today!

She motioned for the boy to join them as she guided the growing group to the cafeteria. Achyuta gave Ingrid some weird looks and Misty couldn't tell if she didn't notice or just didn't CARE, but Ingrid didn't give him a real reaction at all aside serving his food.

"Ingy~!" Misty greeted her gothic friend, Ingrid, with gusto as it was her turn in line, shouting after the people with her to add, "Ya'll go find us a table n' wait for me, ya hear?"

"What do you want, Misty?" Ingrid responded to her meeting exasperatedly, knowing EXACTLY what was coming from Misty's tone.

"Aw, now why ya gotta assume that ah wants something from ya? Cain't ah jess say hai t'my good friend?" Misty asked, a little huffy to show an air of being offended.

"...So you're telling me you DON'T need me to do you a favor?" Ingrid questioned, skeptical.

"...Er...Well... Maybe ah might..." Misty answered hesitantly.

"...I knew it," Ingrid muttered, annoyed, and then added, "So what is it you want THIS TIME, Misty?"

"Ah kinda gots stuck givin's these here people a tour o' G.S.U.N, n' ah needs ya t' watch o'er mai spot while ah do so. Cain you plleeeasseee? Pretty pllleeaasseeee?" Misty practically begged her goth friend.

"Fine, I think my breaks just starting, and I was gonna go BUG YOU for a change, anyway," Ingrid groaned, rolling her eyes.

For once, Ingrid wanted to be cumbersome to MISTY. Guess THAT wasn't happening.

"Maybe next time," The gothic girl sighed as she thought hopefully to herself.

"Good news, err'yone!" Misty cheered as she caught up with the people at their designated table, "Ah gots sumone t' cover me while I gave ya'll a tours, ah surely did!"

Misty, smiling ear to ear at the thought of successfully shanghai-ing her friend Ingrid into covering for her, sat down with her tray of food and briefly stared at everyone present.

"Aight den, so...uh..." Misty kinda started, blinking at them all as if in confusion, adding, "Ya'll know ah'm Misty, der receptionist at G.S.U.N, n dis here be my friend Morph, so... could ya'll go round the table n' introduce yerselves formally to' each other?"

That seemed, to Misty at least, like a good place to start since they were all relatively new not onlly to G.S.U.N, but to each other as well.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Yeah, yeah, whatever, whatever! Good thing I don't actually care, Sans! I'm just glad I didn't have to make myself scarce around the room since I'm tired as hell," Yumi brushed him off as he started speaking to her in their native tongue.

She walked right past that mofo and just PLOPPED her fine self right on that bed in the room, complete with some stretching and yawning.

Yumi was actually a little tired from the plane ride, and was able to sleep a little more so now that she had SOME food in her belly aside gosh dang AIRPLANE PEANUTS. Whack-ass snack. WHO THINKS THAT FILLS A PERSON, FOR REAL THOUGH?!

Ain't they no food on planes anymo'? Last Yumi checked, people still gotta eat even a bajillion miles above ground! Why they think some tiny-ass bag o' peanuts gonna fill someone up for hours?!

Meh, whatever with people and they dumbass ways, the angry asian woman gathered.

"I guess we wait for the call to know when Nega's here...?" Yumi asked, mostly to herself, but it WAS out loud.

Nega better hurry his punk-ass up over to G.S.U.N before Yumi decides to smack a bitch!

Yumi was actually surprised at how tired she suddenly was upon laying down... Though seating in an uncomfortable plane ride for hours and hours on end was also a contributor to her not SLEEPING much while up there, either.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Wonderful!" Nega chuckled, pleased and amused at his "hidden" excitement, almost slightly covering his mouth.

He liked this boy's gusto! More importantly, he liked this boys abilities.

With but a single lyric and melody, this boy could practically do anything and everything he wanted. With proper training, he MAY even rival himself.

The Captain of G.S.U.N couldn't decide whether or not that was a good or bad thing, but tried not to think on it TOO much, as he did't want to space out in front of the new recruit.

Speaking of recruit, he should probably get a move on and bring this boy to G.S.U.N!

"It's not too far from here, and we should probably get going anyway, as people are probably going to investigate the crisis that happened and wonder even more so what caused the damages," Nega explained as he led him towards the sacred place of heroes.

He knew he could no longer warp to G.S.U.N now that he had company along the walk, but that was perfectly alright to him: He enjoyed having a solid excuse to slow down and just... take everything in.

Everyone seems to run around as if they're being chased by something, sometimes it was nice to just stop and smell the roses.

Admittedly, he could stand to do that more often, it's just with monitoring Lux, he didn't really have much time for that.

"I must confess that you have me at a disadvantage, young man, you know who I am, but I'm not sure I know who YOU are...?" Nega realized as they were making their way to the marble building, hoping this was a good segue for the boy to formally introduce himself.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Perhaps. So you are like a modern day Robin hood?" The tiny pink Heroine signed, slowly nodding, as she asked him, still not approving of him, and continuing to be unsure of why the sudden hesitance, adding, "Robbing from the rich to give to the poor... And not keeping most of it for yourself, I hope?"

She wasn't sure about the soda can before her, but she didn't want to seem rude to the man, so she accepted it anyway, with only slight hesitance.

Wait, why was she so bent on being polite to a crook!? Worst heroine ever!?

She did have a mini-heart attack when he left in a heartbeat, and was even MORE shocked when he came back again... He could have just left her entirely...

She opened the can and started sipping out of it, relaxing herself around this man...

"You... You know that their successes are not OUR failures... Correct? I know how you feel, despite using this suit, I am not a rich girl either, I also know how frustrating it is to see the wealthy flaunt their riches. That does not mean I take what they have because I believe they do not deserve it, even if that is sometimes the case they do not. We are neither the judges nor the jury, we do not get to decide who receives and who does not," Mega tried to reason with this man.

He admitted he also did this as some sort of daredevil form of entertainment, perhaps he could be persuaded to find his idea of fun some other, more constructive, way?

He seemed to at least be showing her a bit of kindness by offering her this soft-drink... Maybe he'd be willing to open his mind up a little bit more?

Either way... maybe he can find it in his heart to give back what he took so Mega-Girl wouldn't feel about perhaps letting him go...?

Achyuta stayed focused on his book, mostly ignoring those at his table. He did peek up over the top of his book every now and then, however, staring grimly at the group he had found himself with. He hadn't given them a word since they'd sat down, allowing them to enjoy their 'meals' and speak among themselves. Bah. Communication had never his strong suit. He looked back down at his book, a collection of proverbs from all around the world, and continued to read from it, casually flipping over to the next page. Misty slammed her plate onto the table and let out a cheery screech, thus earning an impatient shudder from Achyuta as he attempted to decipher what she said. He closed his book and set it down on the table, turning to her.

"You know my name. That's good enough."

  • Lunch Break II
"Let's see...," Sky Magician [Hilbert] would be looking at the available options for grub. Certainly it felt like he was having a lunch break as an intern due to how similar it feels right now. Once he got some food, he sat down with the others and ate with some manners.

    Thought Process:

[So I'm here at GSUN and here I am having a nice lunch break. Is there going to be a test? Show off our skills? Being a superhero isn't exactly what a walk in the park I'm sure. Sure I've beaten my fair share of super villains in Italy but I don't know how things work in America, but if I'm gonna do this then may as well do it.]

To everyone else around him, Sky Magician was eating with his scarf down to his neck.

A rooftop
"Well, how do you think Robin Hood paid for those arrows of his, besides Robin Hood never had to worry about the rent or the gas bill in that little forest of his now did he" Rike pontificates while drinking the soda in as fancy a way as one can. He wasn't going to say that he kept all the cash for himself as it would be a lie. Rike did funnel some of his ill-gotten gains to various charities, under false names of course. No links to trace back to him. "So maybe I do keep a little nest egg for myself does that makes me evil?".

As he sipped from the can, the thief quickly pondered over the questions before answering. "Yes I am well aware that their success isn't our failures, I simply wish to redress the balance, and to bring a pain to the cushy lives of financially privileged" is what he replied at first before smiling curiously at the young woman. "Not a judge or jury, but you are that is your job isn't a hero's job to fight what you think are bad people, hell you may even be an executioner for all I know.... no no definitely not your not the type to have blood on your hands too naive too sweet" he said as he wondered what the woman would do if faced with that sort of task. He almost felt sorry for her.

"Speaking of your job, I doubt it includes talking to know nare do wells, is it just cause I looked good in a suit or do you actually find some pride in my little mission in life?".
