Noel raised his eyebrows at Kairi’s sigh. For a Loyal zodiac, she sure liked the idea of fighting. He didn’t remember her being quite like this, but then again, it wasn’t like he’d seen enough of her in recent years to definitively judge. However, her words about intervening if their fellow zodiacs tried to attack him gave him pause. That certainly wasn’t something he’d expected to hear from her. Why did she care so much about him, anyway? It was his fault Andromeda died in the first place…
Calista further agreed with her, and Noel shot a glance at her, too. What was up with Taurus and Gemini? They were supposed to hate him, but they didn’t. He stared at them for a moment or two as they began to leave the alley. They were being far too nice to him. Just because he’d helped them fight off a couple humans didn’t necessarily mean he was worthy of their trust…did it?
Reluctantly, he followed them, absentmindedly petting Shelby. Why don’t they hate me?
