I'm just stating that they have the capabilities to do those things, Jarkov.

And holy- That's a lot of people. By my estimates the confederacy numbers around 8-9 billion, Shireling.

Yes, but given the fact that the technology that they left with was considerably more advanced, they had hence by some military triumph blown a hole in enemy lines allowing thousands of colony ships to escape, so their starting population on the ships was roughly 2 billion, given that perhaps roughly 3/4 of all the colony ships successfully awoke greater than 90% of the occupants from cryosleep without freezerburn, you're looking at a starting population overall of 1.5-ish billion. Given that this 1.5 billion then had two centuries to grow with access to FTL technology that did improve, more robust medical facilities, and high subsidies for large families, it is easily conceivable that in the allotted time, 1.5 billion could grow to 20 billion, especially given historical precedent.

In 1916, there were less than a billion people on the planet. In 2016, there are 7 billion going on 8 billion, also given that between 1916 and 2016 were two world wars and countless outbreaks of highly deadly diseases.

Given this historical precedent for growth, 20 to 30 billion is a reasonable population for the Amalgam.

I'm surprised that most of the population didn't die out in the first coming years of creating colonies. Starting with a big population has it's downsides when starting a settlement, eh, at least when you unfreeze such numbers all at once on the first day.

That's why I had mine be only a few thousand so that they could steadily work the land and improve it that would eventually support the growing population. I wouldn't want my settlers to wake up on an unimproved and unknown environment now.

I would assume they accounted for this by waking up the colonists on a time schedule and bringing along enough prefabricated hydroponic farms and tofu to feed everyone until a more stable arrangement was made. This process was all overseen carefully by the, *da da da da* De Valtos Astrospeculation Conglomerate back on Earth, the world's premier ship-building and space exploration firm.

Well I wont be getting any sleep tonight.

Also. Did they strip mine the planet of it's resources to make those HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE colony ships?

Strip-mined, tore down buildings, salvaged old ships or debris fields from the war, mined it from the asteroid belt or from core mining. Basically all of humanity's metal supply was at their disposal.

I think I'm getting close to being done enough to make things happen, and some hella things happening I can do.  :D  If I'm lucky, finished in a couple hours and actual post going up late tonight.

EDIT: Mkay I lied, that only took an hour give or take. Hella happenings time, goodie.

@Forboding_Angel is that the rest of your CS  Angel? Cause its looking good but i'd simply like to see the rest of it before I pass on confirmation and word up to the big man.

My CS may look bare bones and not say shit but I've got a reason for it and ive already talked to our lord and savior Anarchist. Everyone else who wants to join still ahs to full fill the minimal requirements.

Btw how do you guys do that show hidden content tab?

My regular bbcodes aren't working

Oh there's stuff here.... I kinda stopped checking because was dead for 6 days. Bit too slow paced for what I'm used to tbh. @Jarkov Malachai Sorry to disappoint but I don't think any more will be coming. I have a bad habit of forgetting about things unless they remind me... gotta have that little bell up top having a blip by it or I'd forget this place existed. ;)  I wouldn't worry about pushing anything up to mister "lord and savior".

@Anarchist there has been a question that I never bothered asking.

Did you read the book 'Ghost in the Machine'?

I finished watching some old anime, Ghost in the Shell and I had the time to view some old posts from the author or directors. I thought the name was a coincidence at first but eventually some of my older friends referenced both of them and I got me curious. I never read the book and I haven't seen anyone in RPN mention it either.

Hi, I'm interested in joining. What sort of FTL travel is there? Are there different kinds, with associated advantages and disadvantages?

Anything your mind can create is acceptable given it is not OP

There is total free range in your creativity so long as it is not OP
