OOC (Rebirth of Brilliance)

I spent a lot of time carefully crafting that party post. Not that it's well-written, it's not. Not that it's good description, it's not. Not that I'm telling a story or establishing narrative. No.

But it's very intentional: it's vague; it's open. Establish as you see fit. Enter as you see fit.

And dear lord I love that Essence is being used out of the gate. I missed the sweet taste of Essence being stuffed into Charms. Mmmmmm.
 
Ailera is pretty spectacular with her 5 Appearance, too, guys.

But for the dramatic effect, it was a suitable entrance. I will make sure not to eclipse Ailera, too much, in other posts.
 
I'm starting to think that I overspent Charms on my Martial Arts, if there will be all of this Social action.
 
Hmmm. We'll have to see. This is merely the first real scene.

I should have a response up tomorrow. Was giving it a little breathing room so everyone had a chance.
 
Before I move the scene forward, I want to find out everyone's intent. Every time I've written a response, it has a lot of where I could see the scene going. But I'd rather follow the path that the characters choose.

So, what do you intend to do at this party?

An example would be to choose one of the groups at the party to manipulate into gaining information about back room dealings between some of the Merchant Lords.

I have been pondering what I am trying to do here. I want to try to establish connections with the movers and shakers of the area in preparation for the Circle to move in and take over, either directly or from behind the scenes using a puppet to run the kingdom, from both the point of view of who can we manipulate, and those we would have to kill to make the move.
 
Kvau already has a bit of an In with the local leaders, being a Sorcerer who's done favors for them. We could use that as an avenue to introduce you.
 
Suhiko's looking to hear news from home, not get found out (she'll use a fake name if asked, and has used one before if they've encountered any of them before), and admire Ailera's dancing.
 
Samira's Interests are mostly to get a feel for the situation here, and to see what offers she can get, either for her looks, her skills as a dress maker (maybe a trend setter), or as an incredible singer. In either case, she wants to get in touch with local artisans, and collaborate with them, or form them into a guild.

Okay let's put some scratch down.

There are seven people who make up the Oligarchy for Lucrete. Four of them, two women and two men, are Merchant Ladies/Lords. Lady Tenebris is one the Merchants.

Two Generals are also a part of the Lucretian Oligarchy.

And the last is the Immaculate Order High-Priest. He was inserted into power as part of diplomacy with the Realm Emissary.

Remember the Kalivas already have plenty. Callas is similarly working on strengthening and adding more.
 
Oh yeah, does Wise Courtier apply onto Lady Tenebris, and if it exceeds her Guile, can Callas pick up any actual Ties between the two?

OOCly I know what Frixz is doing. Obviously, shan't know or say IC...
 
After too many days of struggling to find any momentum, I think for the time being I should give the game a pass.
My apologies for dragging my feet so long.
If the situation changes, I'll come back and see if you folks want me in.
I feel especially bad about it because I think that this game is really promising, kudos to WlfSamurai WlfSamurai for making it possible.

xarvh xarvh I'm sorry to hear that. I was really looking forward to playing a game with you again. But I understand. If you ever do want to play this or any of my games you're you're always welcome and have an instant pass. Feel free to read as the game progessses. I'd love to have your input.
