[1] This is another opportunity to let TARA do something - we don't want to miss that, right? Also: by now, time shouldn't be a concern anymore - if we miss Terrel, that's not because of a few moments spent to shut down security.

Thirded.

"Yes. We need to make sure we don't get detected again.", you say.

"Very well, User BLANK.", T.A.R.A. responds. "Please connect the P.E.T. to the small slot to the side of the first monitor."

You do just that. A few seconds after you plug your pet into the small slot that T.A.R.A. had mention, various pop-ups begin to emerge on the screens , and one by one, they are terminated. A large loading bar, starting from the first screen and extending to the last, appeared and began to fill up itself.

"User BLANK, the estimated completion time is one minute. Please standby.", T.A.R.A. said.

After a minute had passed, the screens turned black as if they've been shut down.

"User BLANK, do you have any other request in the usage of this computer?" T.A.R.A. said.

[1] Use to search for optimal route to assassination target.

[2] Use to search for possible important files.

[3] Halt computer usage and leave the room.
[4] Write-in.

I don't know if this counts as 2 or 4: I'd love to find out more about the other executor. [1] shouldn't be necessary - we found our own way thus far. Also, they heard us earlier - quite likely that they expect us to take the direct approach. Let's avoid that.

"See if you can find any files worth of interest.", you say.

"Very well, User BLANK.", T.A.R.A. responds. "Please standby."

You waited there, as you saw the screens move from folder to  folder, scanning each and every file that exists in the computer's storage. However, as you patiently waited for T.A.R.A. for an update, you heard something from outside.

The door was no more, so you leaned against the wall, hiding yourself whilst paying much attention to the sound echoing not far from your location - more footsteps. You tried to distinguish how many were approaching your location but you could not use the footsteps as a reference, for they sounded too far.

You took a peek outside. Nobody was there, but you could still hear the footsteps echoing from afar. The guy you knocked out was still on the ground, unconscious. If he was to be seen, then things will get more difficult, so you decided to drag his still-living-but-not-awake body back into the room. The door, however, can't be fixed, so you'll just have to deal with the screens being revealed to have done activity by themselves.

Now that you've taken a good look at the guy, he was armed - a pistol to the left of his waist. You took it, and examined it. It has three bullets left, one of which, was already loaded to the chamber. You could use it, but it had no silencer, and the sound it would make once fired will most likely alert the people in the building again.

"User BLANK.", T.A.R.A. finally called to you.

"Yes?", you say, as you turned your attention to the screens. Each with a single file of different names.

"I have located four files of interest. Unfortunately, the computer can only access one, or it will trigger an alarm.", T.A.R.A. continued. "Which of these files should be opened, User BLANK?"

Question 1: Use the pistol?

[1] Yes.
[2] No.

Question 2: Which file?

[1] File 004 - Project Sentinel.

[2] File 031 - Sergeant Terrel's Results.

[3] File 019 - Project Uproot.
[4] File 107 - Executor Chips.

Question 1:

[1] They already know that we're here. We only have one bullet left. Even if this is the noisiest weapon ever created in mankind's history, we might need it.

Question 2:

[4] might be the newest file, and the thus the most relevant one for us. Obviously, it wouldn't hurt to know more about the guy we're planning to kill, but we probably don't want to trigger the alarm.

Q1 : 1. At this point , we only have one round in our issued-weapon and the noise of the pistol likely wouldn't alert anyone we haven't already alerted with our first shot.

Q2 : 4. It's very likely the most relevant to us (given that it's the most recent and has Executor in its name) ; and while 1 and 3 seem interesting , the names are too vague to be sure of pertinency.

Thinking that your P.E.W. would not suffice the need for weaponry in this mission, you took the pistol, and checked it again for bullets. Three - that is what it all had. Still, it was better than nothing. Besides, there's no need to be extra sneaky, you've already alerted the entire building when you shot the debris.

Heck, you even threw with great accuracy and precision when you tested out the functions of your P.E.W. earlier.

"Open File 107.", you said.

"Opening File 107 - Executor Chips.", T.A.R.A. responds.

The other screens turned black, as if they were shut down. The remaining one, however, began to have a number of codes and commands appearing, like a program being launched. It took a few seconds until the codes disappeared and the screen turned back to show the desktop.

The all of a sudden, a document showed up, its six pages separated and covering the entire screen. The content, despite being viewed in such a manner, was very readable.

On the first page was the seal of the World Union, and the logo of the Executor Initiative. At the middle of that was a large emboldened text saying "Controlling Security Proposal". At the lower right corner was a stamp, saying that it was approved back at the year 2035.

You scanned the following pages, and what you saw was beyond belief. Could this be true? Is this an authentic article? If so, then why is it here? You could only wonder at the horror it presented.

Chips were implanted on Executors, which would monitor their actions and thoughts. In rare cases, these chips are able to completely influence an Executor's decisions, causing them to act as ordered, with seemingly full obedience. In other words, Executors are always under watch, and some of them are simply dolls controlled by the higher ups, or in this case, J.O.E.

The humanity of an Executor has been diminished. That is what it summarizes for you.

You remember the strange vision you saw earlier. A familiar man speaking to you, saying you are in control. His neck was bleeding, but he placed a cloth over it. And most importantly, he revealed to you a tiny chip drenched in blood and flesh.

You placed you hand over your neck. Was that person an Executor conveying a message about this? Should you do what you saw in vision? You were starting to doubt both J.O.E. and yourself. What is the truth? You pondered.

"User BLANK.", T.A.R.A. called to you. "Are you finished with the file?"

"Yes.", you answer.

The screen, then, turned black. All the beeps and whirring stopped. The light of the led indicators faded away quickly. Then, you heard the footsteps once more. They were nearer than before, and getting even closer to your location. You could only assume that they are heading to the room. Especially after hearing the door getting slammed open and breaking.

"User BLANK.", T.A.R.A. continued. "Please remove the P.E.T. from the slot."

After doing what T.A.R.A. had requested, you took your mind off the document and everything relating to it. You put your attention back to the situation and the mission. You took a quick peek, and saw four armed men approaching from afar. Although you could easily take them on, you needed to take them down quickly so you could get to your target. You've wasted enough time as it is. You don't want to lose any more.

[1] Shoot them from afar.

[2] Do another sneak attack.

[3] Charge towards them.
[4] Write-in.

After deciding that taking them down by surprise would be far easier and time-efficient, you went back inside the room and leaned against the wall, just right beside the door-less entry. You held the pistol firmly, with a finger ready to push the trigger at any moment.

The footsteps grew louder and sounded nearer, and after a short while, the four armed men were right at the door. They conversed with each other for a while, but it was too chaotic for you to eavesdrop on, so you decided not to. Then, one of them spoke loudly.

"Gordon, what happened here?", he said. "Why's the door broken? And why are the screens turned off? Did you finish repairing what boss wanted you to fix?"

Gordon - that was the name of the unconscious soldier lying next to you, hidden in plain sight due to the walls of the room.

You hear footsteps once more, and this time, you know someone's going to go in. Whoever they are, the moment they place their foot within the boundaries of this room, they have signed their death warrant. You don't plan on holding back like you did with the poor fellow Gordon.

It did not take a while. A few seconds in, you see one of the armed men step into the room. He seems to be distracted by Gordon's absence, and the blank screens. You, however, were not. And very much like a hungry spider which has caught a prey in its web, you took no time, nor hesitation, in jumping onto him and striking him down.

You leaped from your current location, using your left foot to propel you towards the distracted soldier. As you reveal yourself through the door-less entry, you point your gun towards the exit, and clench the fist of your free arm.

Your fist struck the disturbed man, staggering him and pushing him away. Just as this occurred, the three remaining soldiers left outside were alerted, and raised their arms, pointing them towards. But they were far too slow, and far too late. As they were lifting their arms and preparing to fire, you have already shot them in vital spots, rendering them dead, or dying.

One had the center of his skull pierce by a bullet, and the other through his eye, going straight towards his brain. The third one had his neck given a hole, with which blood gushed out like a river, essentially disabling him to do any retaliation due to the pain it caused.

Only one remained, and he charged towards you. A mistake that he can no longer regret.

Now that the three were gone, you returned you attention to him, as he launched a jab. You easily dodged it by quickly stepping to the side. Giving no time for him to do a follow-up, you used your right foot to push yourself forward, and your left as a pivot to turn around, making you go behind his back in merely seconds. You then, took the opportunity - you immediately grabbed his head and his neck, and with a quick, yet powerful movement, you snapped his neck, breaking the very nerves that connect his brain from the rest of his body.

The last man standing, was no more. Only you remained. And the unconscious man, Gordon.

You leaned your head slightly sideways, as if doing a warm-up. It has been a while since you did some real fighting. Or was it? Your memories are still foggy, and you don't know why. But instead of dwelling on the mysterious you know, and are going to uncover, you decide that it was best to focus on the matter at hand - finishing the mission given to you.

You exited the room, and headed towards Terrel's assumed location, with T.A.R.A.'s guidance.

Gordon remained asleep, together with the remains of his fallen comrades.

Cutscene complete. Prepare for the next update.
