Marius felt his way to a chair and flopped down with an exaggerated sigh. "I've only heard a few passages of it. It's the only book that doesn't conform to the language of whoever reads it or the translations the Hotel provides. From what Sisceal has told me it's some extremely ancient language. Something long dead...or almost at least. The Host knows it, think the priest does and probably anyone willing to spend decades studying. Anyway, I know it tells of some history of this place, descriptions of what it is or may be. Ways to gain favor and navigate and clues as to where that main key is to let everyone out. Possibly even a location as to where that exactly is...I've never been given a clear answer on that part. Told it will 'be too much for my mind to handle.' It's basically a guide to this place and the ones that have most influence or know how here."

"A key?" Salvador asked before frowning. "I don't get it. If this book is here and people have been here much longer then I, why did I find it?"

He knew that nothing happened without reason in this place. This place, it's host, whatever lived here. He knew there was too much going on for things just to happen by chance. He suspected all were here for a reason. Maybe they had been lured here to keep the host company or the beast fed or maybe to pay for their own sins but either way, none of them were here by accident.

"Mmhmm. The key that will release all prisoners from this place. Current prisoners at least." He shrugged. "There are many reasons it could have fallen into your hands. Maybe the Hotel is looking for a new challenge? Or some new amusement. As many here have....eh...given up lately. Either going along with his antics without struggle, letting the tortures get to them easily, falling into addictions again and again. It hasn't been a very pretty picture but it's kept Them satisfied, for the most part. Of course it could be some sick punishment as well. It's impossible to tell with the nature of this place."
DeadxPhoenix2661 DeadxPhoenix2661

Salvador frowned. Could it be a punishment? He was certainly no saint. Killing for a living saw to that but he wasn't evil either. Or was he?

"I'm probably been punished," He mumbled. "But the truth is... I don't know what's right or wrong anymore... and I want to find out where this path will led me so I say bring it on,"

"Best of luck finding that here. Things are confusing. What's good, what's bad. It's like it doesn't even matter sometimes with the Host here and whatever this place actually is." He flopped down onto a nearby chair. "It's probably best to follow your instincts. Particularly if you want to look for that key and stay sane. Oh and don't piss off the Host lest you end up in the oubliette for Gods know how long. Could be a few days and could be until you're forgotten by everyone here. Not to mention it often breaks your mind as well, leaving you a husk and barely remembering why you were even there or who you are."

The floor beneath Marius began to rumble. He felt a gentle downward tug inside him. As if he were apart of what was down there. Moments later a Minotaur burst through the floor drenched in blood. It looked at the blind man snorting directly in his face. The back of the beast split open and Haimo's torso sprouted out of it. "Hey there buddy." He saluted, "You left me behind there, Honestly I was a little bit sad. I thought we were friends." It had a smile and the tone of its voice was very upbeat, "Well, I'm glad I found you." Haimo's body twisted to face the other person in the room, "Who's your buddy? Kinda handsome."

The Blood warden crossed its arms, listening to Marius speak. "Well, that's because I was. Wait, did you think I died back there? Ha ha ha, Now that's funny." Haimo stretched it's elastic like torso closer to Salvador. "Don't think too much about it Marius. Just know it's in my nature." It extended a hand to the unfamiliar Guest. Though it had just sprouted out from the back of a minotaur its hand was dry like any other, but the scent of blood was no doubt heavy on this "How's it going friend. You can refer to me as Haimo. Or whatever the word for blood is in your native tongue. However calling me Haimo eliminates confusion. I've been around many cultures to know that much."

Salvador raised an eyebrow at the Minotaur before a smile found it's way on his face. He took the hand and shook it as he ran his eyes over the creature.

"Haimo... It's nice to meet you..." He replied. "And as well as it can be considering the situation,"

Turning to Marius, he nodded.

"Thank you for your help, Marius," He mumbled. "Do you have any other helpful suggestions on how to stay as sane as I can?"

"Wish I did but fat chance of it. All you can do is hope to survive around here. Make as many allies as you can. Few deals won't hurt either as long as you're not afraid to sell your soul or something. Long as it keeps you alive a bit longer eh?"
Marius chuckled. Leaning back against the wall with a sly grin. "Any of us here would be more than happy to oblige to that."

"Oooooh where have all my guests gone." Obsidian clicked his tongue as he strode through the halls gracefully. Black ooze pulsing through cracks in his porcelain skin. They were still in the hall. At least, some of them. Old time guests. Crazies, stubborn. The old rotten drunkard one and of course that Glen fellow.
His eyes flared a bright yellow, the pupils shrinking to thin slits. "Ughk." Without warning black tendrils shot out. Wrapping themselves around the priests neck and sharpening to spikes around anyone else nearby. "What is wrong with us anymore? We never talk, never play. I miss the good old days. Don't you Sissy poo?" He stuck his bottom lip out in a slight pout. The priest struggled to catch his breath as the tendril tightened. "Anymore you just...sit and drink. Annoyingly warn people immediately. It is STARVING because of you. and not. happy." Obsidian hissed through his teeth as he sunk a spike into the priest's chest and stomach. Painfully making it weave through his body to barely scrape by the most soft and vital parts and getting a loud scream out of him. "You had better not screw this up for us this time. We have such potential this time."

Everything happened too fast. One moment the clergyman was parked beside them, slobbering, having a good time, then the following second he was dangling next to the chandelier, suspended by the once invisible ropes that binds every single guest to the hotel. His raw cry of agony rippled throughout the daydream, ripping apart their host's masterful illusion and revealing the truth to the blind who still wanted to see smoke and mirrors.

"Why me, why me why always me?" Glen fumbled to light a cigarette while his bloodshot eyes scanned frantically for an exit, another table to dive under or somebody else to hide behind. When his search inevitably proved futile, he was pressured to consult the only fake redhead who had the guts to pick a fight with the ultimate evil.

But it did not seem like he needed to get on his knees and beg for rescuing this time, since the subsequent grating noise the walking maggot farm heard was a eardrum-rupturing guffaw.

"What kinda third-rate hospitality is this?!"

Antifreeze cackles announced Rachel's presence as well as her brand new attempt at stealing the spotlight. "Obsidian you motherfuck" she spat, slurring while spilling red wine all over strings of pearls. "I'm the most importantest girl here how dare you ignore me!"

Then she smashed an empty bottle before rushing at the inconceivable monstrosity with the death-causing end pointed directly at what her mushy mind thought would be a weak spot.

Deacon was rubbing from... Something. He was panting, running on all fours and refusing to look back. He had to hide! He ran until he saw this... place. What was it? Who cares?! He had to HIDE NOW!! He dove for the door, ramming it open and doing little flips on the floor as he rolled from tripping over himself as he did.

"Nonononono" His long ears were flattened to his skull and his large blue eye looking left and right. "Oh, I need somewhere to hide!" He dove under a table, shaking in his little non-existent boots.

"Tsk tsk Rae bae you know that's inappropriate. You'll have your turn eventually. Same goes to you little glenjiman. I know you're both troublemakers." He sneered. Making a wall of black ooze to block her. Tightening his grip on Sisceal. There was a desperate gasp before he ceased making all noise. Obsidian cut off his oxygen completely at this point.
His head suddenly swiveled around. "Hmm Seems you and I will have to discuss this more later. We appear to have another guest arriving very shortly." Without hesitation he retracted the tendrils Allowing the priest to fall from the full height with a sickening crunch as only the tables and glass broke his fall. "I expect you to look and act appropriately or else. Understand." He seethed. The ballroom shifted and moved as it cleaned itself up. Most of it. It left Sisceal and the broken things around him lie. He was such a clumbsy, drunken boy after all. "We still have plenty of fresh other arrivals as well so please do not screw this up again!" he shouted back at the group as he slunk away into the darkness.

As soon as her other half made his departure, porcelain morphed from one of the walls like a gelatinous white goo. She stood out in the shadows and although for some it would take a long series of time she located Obsidian in seconds. Not afraid of what he may do, porcelain reached out and rested a hand upon Obsidian's shoulder.
"You know, that was quite the show you put on a moment ago. However i thought we were saving the main course for later."
Porcelain took a moment to close the distance between them and turn obsidian around to get a full look of him. "Such a childish decision. The pets deserve rest every now and then. Even the ones broken in and you know that."

Microseconds prior to monster guts spilling and sating curiosity about which highlighter shade would bleed out, both the abomination and its owner melted into a shadowy corner and disappeared. "Wait, it's gone?" Raebae shrugged and scrapped her shiv, permitting broken glass to further tarnish polished marble. "Hmph. I'm too outta it to get into it anyway."

Facing her fellow guests (and zombie) to assess the damage, even a hardened serial litterer like herself could not help but raise an impressed eyebrow at their host's personal handiwork. With tonights casualty crumpled in a fractured heap and threats still lingering across whispering halls, that last bottle shatter would be enough to shove any spineless wimp over the edge. And there was definitely one of those wasting bed space.

"No no no!" Glen shrieked as desperate claws dislodged hair clumps that had not fallen out yet. "This is impossible! Wh-why bother trying to escape, we're never leaving here! We're all trapped forever!"

Still screaming, cursing every choice made in life and afterwards that led to this revelation, the squealer unleashed sobs so uncontrollable and deafening that in the midst of panic, he did not notice somebody had snuck behind him until a tug almost twisted tense shoulders from superglued sockets. "Stop pissing around!" Rachel hoisted dead weight by fistfuls of his shirt towards whatever pieces remained of the priest. "Shut your noisehole and stuff him in a freezer or something, none of us need another worthless corpse stinking up the place."

"Don't touch me!" He squelched despite no longer being hustled, insubordination instantly granting a harsh backhanded reward, the resounding smack reverberating throughout an echo chamber ballroom.

"Wanna try that again, you pathetic wormsack? If there's a problem, let's fix it with a heart-to-heart chat, huh?" Raising clenched mitts, all anger eased when her opposition flinched and silently surrendered. "HA! Good talk, we really settled some issues. Now quit standing there with your thumb up your ass and look alive!"

Groaning in mild annoyance, Glen massaged his tender jaw while monitoring a malnourished harpy out of the boundary of blurry sight as she gravitated in a direction of instant gratification, or at least more wine. Stay strong, motivational posters in the office would advise, grin and bear it.

After waiting for the coast to clear of alcohol-addled sharks, lank legs budged from a statue stance. "S-Sisceal?" He crouched alongside his compeer. "Oh god, are you...? Please tell me you're not..." his voice faded, unable to confirm what he feared.

"That one in particular needed a solid warning. As well as a display of one for his little friends. They've disrupted the show for far too long now." Obsidian responded with a slight hiss. Turning his eyes to her. Her sudden appearance hardly phasing him, they had been working in this place side to side now for so long it would be odd if something like that spooked him. "The white haired being the most frustrating case. Inspiring the others, giving them...ideas. Has been here longer than any other before. Escape has been at his fingertips, nay, handed to him!. Yet it's like he refuses to leave." He scoffed. It baffled even their great master. "That is a matter for another time though dear. There are new arrivals we must prepare for. Shall we bring them all to the ballroom again or let them wander about for a moment in blind panic?"

"Sssstop.....bickering....please..." The priest strained to get out. His eyes firmly shut as he lie on the ground. His entire body tense from the pain shooting through every last nerve ending he had. Blood was pooling around the front of him. Staining his pure white hair and shirt bright red. "Give me a moment and I'll...maybe get up." He wheezed. Trying so hard to shift but his body refusing to respond. Gods above how he prayed this was a temporary paralysis.
The priest tried again, ah, his fingers and arms shifted a bit! Hurt like Hell but he could move them. Unfortunately that is all he could move...from the waist down he felt little to nothing and couldn't even wriggle his toes.
"Tell me...Am I bleeding badly anywhere? and...does my back look alright? I can't....I don't think I can move anything past my waist right now but nothing feels broken or snapped....gah...and help me up, please? Everything I can feel hurts."

"I suppose you're right, besides every opening needs a little warning and flare. Can't have any mistakes on opening night." As Obsidian spoke, the thought of a quick procedure to the priest's tongue had more than once crossed her mind. Yet it was a detail out of place for the big picture of her beautiful home and could now bare to make even the smallest mistake. "Well a party is no celebration without a little music. Allow me to guide the lost ones to the party. It will give time to straighten up those who still lay untidy."

With a wave of her hand, Porcelain's old fashioned maid's dress evolve into an elegant white gown. With almost a sneer, she sunk into the floors and soon reappeared in the center of the ballroom. With a raise of her hand a sleek black grand piano appeared. Taking her seat at the bench, Porcelain began her alluring tune. A song of attraction she had learned off of a guest who claimed to be Siren. Not as strong as that as a lull from such a beast, but enough to give guests throughout the halls a path to her location.

Free from the chains f slavery Maria has felt peace. Setting herself out of the mansion. She wandered the streets with her badly beaten appearance. Taking a deep breath, she eventually found herself a random broken down apartment. Hand on the doorknob as she entered. She realized she was i a entirely new environment. At first, she thought she was going insane but what she is seeing is all real. "W-where am i?" She said in her tired breath. She stood in the entrance. Her one functional eye scrolling through her surroundings.
