Questions thread

Goaty Love

Lady of Goats, Bananas and Cheeses
Ask questions here that you need answered. For example if you want to know if you can discover bronze or not.

A few questions that hopefully, once answered, will give me some more ideas of where I am going to go with my character.

- Where is our tribe located, geographically speaking? I ask this to help situate myself with regards to weather, animal and plant life, terrain and so on.

- How large is the tribe?

- How old is the eldest tribe member? It would give me an idea on life expectancy.

- How long have we been able to create fire? Wondering if this is still a new skill for us or something we are comfortable with.

I may get more questions later but these popped into my head and I wondered if we had answers for them.

Thanks.

Ahh, lore related questions, my area.

- The setting is of course fictive but geographical wise and flora&fauna wise you can assume it is a mix between Northern France and Southern Germany.

- The tribe's demographic is currently not precise yet but you can assume they are around the 100-range given the stage of the stone age we're in.

- The current oldest tribe member would be 31, there were older tribe members but they didn't survive the tough journey. Life expectancy is around 40-45 years at best.

- The knowledge of fire making has been with the tribe for generations so the tribe is fairly comfortable with it but still fearful of the damage it can do.

Hope this answers your questions for now.

Ok! I've got some.

-Given that geography considers Northern France and Southern Germany; would the biosphere be strict in regards of what goes on in that area (yellow square), or is it broader in terms of general content? (I want my character to have a backstory with bobcats, so I'd like to know if I can take their habitat in Austria as a reference)

-How spiritual is the tribe, and how much tangible power do deities have?

-How frequently would it be convenient that a character stumbles upon a major discovery? The resume does say that we've yet to develop agriculture, but I'd like to know how early or late in the Stone Age we're going to stay in to avoid things like metallurgy lol.

Jawohl, more questions to answer whilst lady Goat is at work.

- A few points here: 1. The Bobcat is the American branch of the Lynx family, in Europe they're just called Lynxes. 2. Considering that Germany was a massive forest before the middle ages it is fair to say that the Stone Age biosphere has Lynxes, Wolves and all that all over the place. 3. We're strictly speaking about the yellow square. 4. Keep in mind the world we play in is considered fictional and not the Earth we know.

- The tribe is reasonably spiritual and since a lot is still not understood about the world they believe there's a lot of spirits at play and a few primordial gods. The Deities have enough power to alter certain conditions and events in the way they want (like letting a heavy rain come during a drought )

- Well considering that we also have to keep the RP fun it will of course not take hundreds/thousands of years until the next discovery but discoveries can be made relatively quick as long as it stays within the realms of plausibility. We're in the late Stone Age, the time where agriculture started to peak its head but metallurgy is still going to be far off for now.
