Role:

The Royal Sorcerer's Apprentice

Name:

"What makes a name so important, my dear Empress? If my name was Jack, how would I be any different than I am now? You see, in terms of magic, names mean nothing. Fancy spells, tomes, and wands can be named with reason, and have it mean the entire difference. But our simple little titles we attach, or have attached, to ourselves...are meaningless. Humans are weird that way." - John Femmden, the Royal Sorcerer of the Growing Age. 'The Shadowed One'.

Alseia Nochfolger, the name she has had since birth.

Age:

"Ages are of little concern, in the face of the Arcane. It doesn't judge you, nor care the slightest how young and inexperienced, or how old and learned you are. It is completely, and undeniably, impartial." - Zekund Hemdijorn, the current Royal Sorcerer. 'The Wise One.'

Alseia is nineteen years old, born 3/17/1802.

Gender:

"Where genders are concerned, my dear Empress, I know not. Whether you be a king, or a queen, or even something else, it matters hardly. You shall serve your purpose, same as anyone else in your place. Same as I, shall serve mine." - John Femmden, the Royal Sorcerer of the Growing Age. 'The Shadowed One'.

Alseia is female, though her gender hardly concerns her.

The picture used above, gives the general idea of what Alseia looks like. However, allow me to delve into the more specific things, regarding her appearance. Firstly, the clothing isn't her typical attire. Those are the robes and hat provided by the late Royal Sorcerer, and she only adorns them when under his direct tutelage. Outside of that, when traversing the capital, she wears rather informal clothing. Despite growing up in a prominent family, with all the latest fashion choices readily available, being away from it all is one of her favorite things. Wearing garments that don't reflect her upbringing, is part of that. Thus, Alseia typically will wear a hooded travelers outfit, like the picture posted at the bottom of this CS. The only difference, is that the color pallet is off. The cloak is a similar purple to her robes above, and the white of the shirt underneath is a deep blue, closely related to the color of sapphire. When she can't avoid adorning more formal options, she'll resort to wearing a dress nearly identical to the one at the bottom of the CS. However, it is a bit longer, extending past her waste, down to halfway up her thighs. She will usually pair this, with a feathery scarf, or shawl.

Outside of clothing choices, there a few things to further explain about her physical appearance. Her hair is the same color as the picture, though it's usually down up in a loose ponytail to avoid having it get in the way of her concentration. In formal situations, or even going out in public, it'll be put into a cascading carousel braid. Alseia stands at 5'6, and weighs in at 124 pounds. Being of an average build, allows her to blend into a crowd easily if need be. Her skin is fair, similar to that of her mother, and retains the same slender figure passed down by genetics. Also, nearly as a copy to her mother, the girl's eyes are a rich purple color, with pigments of blue sprinkled in. Most say they are her best quality, when thinking upon physical attributes. Otherwise, the picture gives all that is worth mentioning.

Ideological Affiliation:

"There is only one way thee shall lead this world, my Emperor. In the face of all things, only one precipice of order and logic has been able to guide humanity, when all else has failed. That bastion of hope, so long since discarded...is magic." - Alfred Hemdijorn, the Royal Sorcerer of the Golden Age. 'The True Sorcerer'.

Alseia is through and through, a devout follower of the Arcane Ideology. From the bright young age of four, she never once stopped believing that magic is the sole rout for humanity's survival and continued growth. Nothing else can come close, and to her, is worth less then the slums of the poorest kingdom in the world. She is so intertwined with this method of thinking, that nothing short of a miracle could alter her mindset.

Personality:

"I have been called many things...'witch', 'demon', 'the reason humanity is perishing'...but none of that bothers me, my lord. For I know most throughout mine life, that I am a Sorcerer! Even if I shall walk the path, no one else dares to risk, and get cast into the flames of torches and pitchforks, I will lead us to prosperity." -Alfred Hemdijorn, the Royal Sorcerer of the Golden Age. 'The True Sorcerer'.

Alseia has been one of many faces, even in the short time she's been on this earth. When she was far younger, the girl had been stubborn, rich, and most of all...bratty. Which gave way to caring for nothing more then accomplishing herself to others, and becoming the best for all to admire. Which again, was birthed here and there, till she finally became the sorceress she is today. Discarding the irrelevant past, that us delve into who she is now.

There are a few words that describe Alseia. Overconfident, is one commonly used by her mentor, Zekund. The girl prides herself immensely on her magical prowess, and for good reason. Even still, it's that pride and general arrogance, that often causes her to falter in situations she would otherwise thrive in. Not that she fails often, mind you. This overconfidence, as mentioned above, is filtered with arrogance. It isn't simply enough to be powerful, Alseia must tell people about it as well. Though, through repetitive scolding and punishments by her mentor, parts of this behavior have been softened overtime. Unless someone brings up the subject of magical abilities, or goes on and boasts about their own skills, she won't hesitate to bring them down a few notches, otherwise, she tends to leave it unmentioned. Thankfully for everyone, it usually only tends to be a verbal confrontation. Albeit, the occasional fireball gets cast, and ancient demon summoned from the pits of Hell, just to prove a point. Another factor that adds to this, is due to her privileged upbringing. During her early years, Alseia had been praised and nearly worshiped, for no real reason. Being in a rich family, gives you that 'love'. Until Zekund came around, and broke some sense into her, did the young sorceress realize that she wasn't quite so, 'powerful', and, 'great'. This still traces around her brain a little, as once she became the official Royal Sorcerer's Apprentice, the behavior of other's towards her hardly changed. That, and she has never once left the capital, giving way to a lack of realism that will likely hit her like a freight train eventually.

Even still, that's the worse of the wizard. The better parts of her, and still left to be discussed. While she may be praised, Alseia has never allowed that to dampen her sharp focus on studying, and becoming better. Ever since she discovered how naturally talented at magic she was, that instantly took over all avenues of her life. Which only grew with rising to the Apprentice's spot in the Empire. With access to nearly any magical tome, cursed object, and portals to other worlds, nothing could stop her desire for knowledge of all things arcane. Therefore, 'studious' is highly applicable. If there is something mystical about an object, person, or place, you'll likely find Alseia digging into it, investigating and researching endlessly. This has been her one saving grace, in more then a few ways. The biggest, is when it came to humanity. For a long time, all the way until Zekund left a thought provoking comment with her, the sorceress thought people were practically worthless. Politics, wars, famine...all human doing. Ignorance was growing around the world like a wildfire with science popping up everywhere...to her, they meant nothing. Less then nothing. Till Zekund stepped in, and revealed the truth about humanity. They were inherently, above all else, magical creatures. How else could they harness the unseen powers of the arcane? After that, though it still took a fair amount of time, Alseia began looking at people with the same hungry, curious eyes of a researcher. That as well, turned into actual feelings for people. It went from the whispers in the hall from servants complaining about the rude child, to gratefully bowing and having conversation with the sorceress they thought was previously unbearable.

Bio:

"What makes a man? Not his present decision, nor his future choices. It's his past, his story. That, is what sets you apart from everyone else, the thing that leaves a permanent imprint into the folds of history and time." - Unnamed Emperor.

Alseia Nochfolger, was the second addition to the children of Arnfried and Erna Nochfolger. Though, it wasn't a particularly happy birth. From a young age, her mother had suffered greatly physically, with a weak immune system that made the woman terribly susceptible to the many diseases of that day and age. This had always been true, but even despite that, Erna insisted on bringing up heirs to continue on the family name, especially because of her utmost love and devotion to her husband. Therefore, Slate was born. Surprisingly, Erna's heath seemed to improve for the next four years, only to dip again into critical stages, and further dive with the birthing of Alseia. The woman's frail body couldn't handle the stresses of child bearing, and nearly collapsed onto itself. By some miracle, both Erna and her youngest child lived, but not without consequences. The mere babe grew up practically without a mother, as she couldn't nurse nor generally care for her daughter, leaving the job to nursing maids and hired help. Arnfried, refusing his wife's pleas, never stepped up to assist his daughter, and instead grew bitter and angry, projecting his feelings of grief for his dearest wife, onto the poor innocent babe.

However, Alseia never knew any of this. By the time she was old enough to start understanding the world around her, everything changed from what it once was. With the discovery of her magical abilities, a new hope grew within her father. Not one of pride, or happiness mind you, but one of greed. Being capable of magic, was an extremely rare, nearly unheard of trait for the Nochfolger line. With this, he could use it to extend his own political reach to places no other previous heir of the family could. The young girl was founded endlessly, with anything and everything she might ever need. The most prestigious school, the best teachers and tutors, all of the research notes, books, whatever was necessary. But when one door opens, another closes. With this amazing discovery, three important things were trapped away from the clutches of Alseia. Firstly, her mother. Erna's condition would never improve, and everyone knew it as much. So, in order for the rising star to not be shot down, they refused to let the girl interact with her mother. Thankfully for them, it worked. With Alseia being so young yet, she didn't get the chance to form a real bond with Erna. Therefore, their impromptu separation bore no semblance towards the girl. Not that it didn't harm her mother, though. Another thing cut off from the future sorceress, was oddly, her father. Arnfried didn't love his daughter from the get go, but there had been a chance, no matter how small. But with the opportunity to gain so much from Alseia's newfound powers, that chance was obliterated into something less than dust. Lastly...was Slate.

The Nochfolger siblings weren't the closest pair in the world. Saying so, would be an utter lie. However, they were exceptionally close. Slate loved his sister, and mostly due to his mother's request, did everything he could to help the young girl thrive. In turn, Alseia loved her brother more then anyone, and anything else. However...that didn't last long. The initial change was due to circumstances, beyond either of their power. Slate was the future Lord of the family name, and thus had many duties and studies. Between taking care of himself, preparing for the future, protecting and caring for his mother, and doing what he could for his father, there was no room left for his sister. Ensuring that the servants and tutors did their job, he left it at that. Now, this isn't exactly bad. In fact, it's pretty noble in what he did. But, would a four year old girl understand that? No. To Alseia, it appeared as if her brother straight up abandoned her. Basically no father, hardly someone that could be called a mother, and a brother who gave up on her. Needless to say, Alseia didn't have it great. Sure, her magical abilities, even for being so young, were astounding. But would that hold any gravity to her? It was at this point, the future sorceress couldn't take it anymore. After two years of this, it became too much. Storming out of the castle, she just tried to get away from it all.

The girl ran for awhile, away from the estate, and into the nearby city. She hardly knew her way around, but that didn't bother Alseia. All the girl wanted, was things to go back to what they were, for her brother to love her again. Loosing her way, she was eventually forced to aimlessly wander about the town, hoping to see something familiar. That's when the girl bumped into the backside of a tall man.  He stopped, and his dark black robe swayed from the sudden halt. It seemed to bind light away from itself, casting no shadow despite the bright sunny day. People walked around him like he wasn't even there. From under the hood, nothing showed. No face, no eyes, nothing...till he suddenly vanished. In his place, was a small book. It clattered onto the floor, like the figure had been holding it before. It was a terribly dark leather, stained with blotches of somehow, even darker...liquid? The pages were clearly once white, but now had turned a disgusting tan from apparent constant use. Gingerly, the six year old Alseia nimbly lifted the book off the ground, like it might explode. Not daring to open something of such a nature in public, she hid it away in her clothing, and returned home, only to lock it up for the next three years. On her ninth birthday, the girl stormed up to her room. It had been nearly three years of never ending, boring learning and spell casting. The same old stuff, every same old day. Still no brother to be seen, Slate having refused to attend yet another birthday. Not that Alseia cared much about it now. Things were different then before, why bother with it? Despite these thoughts, her sadness and disappointment were still obvious to everyone around her. This moping kept on, till she kicked her foot against a small locked chest underneath her bed. The memory of that distant day so long ago, was faded heavily into her young brain, but the faintest feeling of cold darkness crept in her mind. The lock on it was already worn back then, and by now it had altogether rusted off. Prying it open with relative ease, she found that book from oh so long ago. Unlike back then, now she could hardly care about what others might think of her reading something like this. For all she knew, it wasn't even that bad. The first thing she could tell you about it, was...confusion. Trying to read off of the book, would cause nothing but intense confusion. Words would begin swirling off the page, others' blurring away into nothing, some of them growing and shrinking. It was insane to her.

While considerably different to what she was used to, Alseia knew this book radiated with magic. For the first time in a long time, something arcane had raised her curiosity. There was no way currently, for her to read the book. Why was it so secretive, as to use protective magic like this? How might one get passed it? Who was it that left it there that day, and why? With so many questions, there was only one thing the girl could do. Research. From then on, she poured all her free time, and even forced in time that she had other things to do, just to figure out the questions to these answers. But for every answer she would find, five new questions would replace it. Eventually, the girl wasn't even trying to figure out the book anymore, and was instead studying and learning all other kinds of arcane topics. Without ever realizing it, her love for magic, and general love for researching, was born. No question would remain unanswered, if she had a say in it. Until half a year later, Alseia hadn't picked up the book once. But now, having delved into countless theories, spells, and tomes, she tried her luck once more. To her immense surprise, it began to make some sense. There was still an intended lack of focus, and confusion, but for the most part...she could read it. The book was odd, the language and spelling of it seeming to be a translation from another language. Certain words just seemed oddly out of place, and others just...not there, when they should've been. The girl was convinced it wasn't part of the magic either, just something that was genuinely there. When she finally cracked the first three pages, having transcribed them over to a note book, attempting to correct the language errors, anything past the third page caused the same kind of confusion as it initially had. She wasn't satisfied with that by any means, considering the book was roughly over a hundred pages long. But the progress was nice. It seemed almost as if the three pages were a, 'first chapter', of sorts. They all covered the same spell, and while it might've been chopped up to the poor writing, the third page ended off complete. The spell was also incredibly interesting. Utterly unique, Alseia never having learned, or even read about it before. While the translation was certainly bugged up, it was called, 'The Beyond Whips'. She tried using the spell exactly as it was written, and it worked. It worked amazingly. These whips became the biggest source of amusement for her yet, especially considering it appeared no one else knew about them.

Flash forward a few more years, and we come to eleven year old Alseia. By now news spread like a wildfire, and sadness flooded half the kingdom. The Royal Sorcerer, Zekund Hemdijorn, had lost his apprentice. The young boy had apparently been practicing a new spell on some mice, when it backfired and brought him into a terrible sickness. Only a few hours later, the boy perished from this world. Alseia herself didn't really care, believing it to be his fault for not being more careful. Besides, it's not like she knew him personally. That said, something about the situation did mean a lot to the girl. With the boy gone, the spot for the Sorcerer's Apprentice was open. Zekund would likely be looking for a replacement student soon, and her ambitions were proven true. Three weeks after the incident, it was announced that the Royal Sorcerer was looking for a new prodigy. Unlike last time however, he would not be picking someone directly, on his own time. Instead, people would have to come to him, 'auditioning' for the part. Alseia jumped on board without the slightest hesitation. Becoming the apprentice would mean everything to her, if only for the advantages it gives to learning and growing as a mage. She propelled past her contenders, till it boiled down to the last two choices. Alseia Nochfolger, the magical prodigy, versus Gendlin Chester, the arcane wiz. They were both eleven, but despite that, Alseia was clearly the superior in terms of magical ability. However, Gendlin's attitude was far more kind, in comparison to the girl's complete lack of care for others.

The choice was very hard for Zekund to make, but in the end, he was leaning towards choosing Gendlin. Word of this spread from servant to servant, till news reached Alseia's father, who then proceeded to inform his daughter. She cracked under the knowledge given to her. Since when did attitude triumph over talent? It was a completely foriegn concept to her, and it just didn't make sense...but while it didn't click with any sort of reason she knew of, the mage knew that something had to change. There was no way this opportunity could be missed, especially over such a trivial detail. Alseia met with Zekund in person, asking him for just a little time to prove she could change. He graciously gave her three weeks, not expecting anything to really happen. However, after that time passed, he would be astounded to find that the girl had changed marvelously. During those weeks, she had done nothing but learn how to properly behave. Using her love for researching magic, the sorceress re-purposed it for becoming a better person. She was still far from great, and was extremely rough around the edges. Even still, simply seeing how much she could improve in that short amount of time, the Royal Sorcerer was moved. Only a week later, his decision was made public. The new apprentice, the person who would one day take his place with the succession of the next leader of this great country...would be Alseia Nochfolger.

Time moved quickly after that. Alseia poured all her time into studying the endless knowledge that was available, making little time for anything else. Not much had changed on the family front. Slate didn't even make an appearance at the girl's inauguration, and all her father did was nod with a cheesy smile, hardly managing any real emotion behind Alseia's biggest achievement possible, neither of them bothering to keep up contact after she officially left the estate, castle bound. Zekund taught her himself for the first few years, but soon found that the girl was too wild to contain. Unless she came to him, the sorcerer eventually stopped teaching her altogether. Not that he had anything against her, quite the opposite in fact. The girl would somehow find answers to things he would've revealed lessons down in his study plan, and she would drown out to his talking, her having already gotten it long ago. Truthfully, the only things he could've taught her...he wasn't allowed to. Those, are the, 'Eldritch Teachings'. Which unluckily for him, happened to be the one thing Alseia wanted to study more then anything else. You see, there is a world of magic to discover. But, it's already been routed, written down, and figured out by countless mages. That, is just typical stuff. Eldritch magic, isn't exactly black magic. It is merely anything that differs from the typical. It's in a situation where; all black magic is Eldritch, but not all Eldritch is black magic. The girl would never hesitate to make things clear, that she had no intentions on delving into anything dark, which was strictly forbidden in all the countries of the world. However, one cannot simply study Eldritch. It's often the mistake of people to do so, as it's very easy to fall into places you never thought were possible. If anyone could tell her of this, it was Zekund himself. As, Eldritch magic was his main subject of study.

He never allowed her to do anything beyond what she already knew, which was, 'The Beyond Whips'. He informed her, that they were actually known as, 'Dimensional Strings'. Sometimes called, 'Eldritch Strings', as they were a fairly advanced form of Eldritch magic. For the rest of her time before the events of the role play, Alseia studied endlessly, learning and growing constantly. Not just in magic either, mind you. Zekund made it his goal, to make the girl someone far less...pompous. He succeeded as well, in many ways. Overtime, the young mage became someone he was proud to one day hand over the title of Royal Sorcerer to. If only he would've gotten the chance...

Abilities:

"What is it really, that makes one a true sorcerer? Let me tell thee, young one. It lies in one's inner workings, their abilities and talents." Alfred Hemdijorn, the Royal Sorcerer of the Golden Age. 'The True Sorcerer'.

There are many things Alseia can do, and many things she can't. To list everything, would take far too long. So I'll generalize her abilities and talents, as best I can.

  • Spells and general (white) witchcraft. For this one, think of Harry Potter. Using wands to cast off a variety of spells, curses, and tampering into potion brewing and elixir mixing. While this isn't Alseia's exact area of expertise, she is better at it then most, simply given her acuity for magic. Wands are hardly her main method of casting off magic, instead tending to rely on either her own natural mana source, or leeching off of whatever is nearby. Even still, the girl does carry around a specially designed wand that was handed down to her from Zekund. Other then that, potion brewing is her least favorite source of magical engineering, and will search out every other available route, until she either she finds another way to solve the problem, or is literally forced to do it. There isn't any real reason behind her feelings, as other similar, 'ritualistic', methods of magic hardly pose an issue.
  • Tomes, and the generally arcane. While wands aren't her favorite, Alseia does enjoy her tomes. It's arguable, that they are her favorite method of using magic. The girl carries around a few specific tomes that she has collected from the Empire's libraries, and a few she herself has made, around at all times in the folds of her clothing. She uses these in many ways. From spouting off arcane lines to protrude a variety of magic, to enchanting and cursing items and people. There is hardly anything she can't do with them in hand. That said, when there isn't a tome for the right situation, she'll fall back on the generally arcane. Magic exists in so many ways, it's hard for everyone to work it the same way from one, to another. Alseia personally, uses it like a giant web of mana. Something that borders everything, in some way, shape, or form. Whether it be physical, or in a manifestation beyond the human eye. Using this near never ending source of magic, the girl can pull off energy, to cast her own spells, and to power rituals without a preset, or already charged, source of energy. This is how she typically powers her dimensional threads.
  • Dimensional Threads. Speak of the devils themselves, huh? Don't worry, demons have nothing to do with them. These threads are Eldritch based, as they tamper with things beyond the normal scope of magic. Normally, they exist as a spell cast off of a tome book, much like how Alseia initially summoned them. However now, she has become so accustomed to them, that she can generate them without so much as word. Though, without a structure to base themselves off of, creating them like that can be highly dangerous. What these do exactly, is they take the magic bound to them, that rips away fabrics from the dimension they're in. In most cases, the threads made are from Alseia's dimension. Because of that, they are usually useless. Empty conduits, that break whenever they touch even the smallest physical object. Thankfully however, because they are so empty, they can be heavily enchanted. If given enough time, the girl can summon them, and cast so much magic into them, there becomes little they cannot do.
  • Portals. One of the few Eldritch things Zekund taught his student, was portal-based magic. How to open up rifts in space and time, to create connections to other worlds, solar systems, even entirely new universes. Of course, the few things Alseia can do, aren't nearly on par with that full ranged scope. Usually, if given enough space and resources to set up a rather elaborate ritual, there would be no way she could manage anything relating to such powerful magic. Even under these circumstances, if everything goes correctly, it's doubtful the rift will be any bigger then someone's hand. Nonetheless, it is something she has never given up on, especially because not much is known about them.
  • The otherwise magical. There is much more to Alseia's arcane bag of tricks. But, only what is listed above is worth going into detail over. However, keep in mind that most things you may see wizards, witches, and sorcerers doing, you can be sure that the girl can as well, to some extent. She is also constantly learning something new, or improving something old. Usually, both at the same time. One more thing to note, is Alseia's craving for all things Eldritch. Due to how little is known about this magic, she wants nothing more then to research it. However, as slightly previously mentioned, it can be a slippery slope. Zekund has thus far not allowed her much leeway with it, the exceptions being her dimensional threads, and his portal lessons. He even went as far as confiscating the black book she received all those years ago. Now however, with him being gone...will she still hold back? Expect the sorceress to be learning many new things.

Likes:

  • Alseia is quite fond of coffee, being able to enjoy it's strong, bitter taste in the many varieties it comes in. Tea is also enjoyable, though it clearly sits below it's superior in her mind. Generally, she tends to avoid sweet drinks, with rare exception. The occasional alcoholic beverage can hit the spot for the girl as well, though not often.
  • Despite not caring at all for sweet drinks, she does highly enjoy candy. Albeit, she tends to keep it on the down low.
  • The sorceress loves magic, more then anything else in the world, or beyond. While many things may come close to stealing her number one spot, nothing will ever actually overcome it.
  • She is a woman of high intellect, and enjoys the company of other's with equal to, or higher knowledge then herself. This doesn't mean she dislikes those below her level of mental acuity, simply that they don't interest her as much.
  • Competition, and tests of skill. Mostly to show off her own talent to others.
  • Mostly due to her love for the arts of magic that could be considered, 'witchery', she is rather enthralled with nature.
  • While it's a bit generic, she actually rather loves humanity, even despite it's many flaws. After all, they are naturally magical creatures. What else could be so easily considered as much?

Dislikes:

  • Alseia hates when someone considers her a child, especially if their reasoning is purely because of her younger age. This is also reflective, in her dislike towards those that try to downplay her accomplishments.
  • While she has little to no issue with those of a lower level of intelligence, she has zero patience for those that are ignorant in any capacity. Whether it be towards herself, her country, magic, or anything else. Ignorance, to her, is unacceptable. This is extremely true for those who follow the Science Ideology, considering their sheer level of 'ignorance' above anything else humanity could ever manage.
  • Despite liking competition, Alseia hates being shown up during them, or anywhere else and any other situation. Unless it's something she herself will admit to not being skilled at, loosing to someone is beyond acceptable.
  • She is fond of nature, yes. However, certain aspects of it are rather annoying to the girl. Such as dogs, horses, and elephants. Very specific, I know.
  • Sure, the apprentice loves humanity. Even still, a lot of the things humans do infuriate her to no end. Never bring up the subject of politics around her, for your own good.

Strengths:

  • The most obvious first, magic. With rare exception, no one is superior to her in this realm of power. Granted, it's varied given the type of magic at hand, the scenario, and much more. Generally though, few can best her.
  • Studying, researching, and overall being capable of reading books for days on end without a wink of sleep.
  • Finding solutions to seemingly impossible obstacles. Warning! Most of her tricks to overcome these, require intense magic.
  • Being a pretty decent friend, assuming you break past the ice. Once you can get her on your side, it's doubtful she'll ever not be there in a moments notice to help when something goes wrong.
  • A massive knowledge base, not only on magic, but a wide variety of subjects.
  • She is a decent fighter at range, with magic.

Weaknesses:

  • Magic is her biggest strength, but also her biggest weakness. If you can eliminate her ability to use it, or at least dampen her effectiveness with it, she'll be rendered useless. I mean that literally, as well as figuratively. Because, she has become so reliant on magic, that it's how she sees the world around her. It gives her a sense of omnipresent knowledge of what's around her, like a short range guidance system. However, if you cut the power to this by taking out the nearby mana somehow, she will be utterly clueless. That sudden drop of awareness will throw the mage into a state of confusion, that is really hard for her to overcome unless given enough time.
  • She can go for days without sleep, no problem. But when it all comes crashing in, it really does hammer down. She can be rendered useless for an entire day, up to a few days, depending on how long she went without rest. As you can imagine, this could be really bad. Unbeknownst to her, she has a bit of narcolepsy as well. If she focuses on staying awake, it's doubtful she will fall asleep. However, if that focus drops, so does she. It's due to her near constant use of magic, as previously mentioned. The use is ever draining, and causes these sudden sleeping fits. As you might imagine, the more she pours into expanding her magical ability, the easier it is to pass out. (Note: This isn't a common event for her, despite what it might sound like.)
  • When it comes to solving problems, magic is virtually her only trick. If magic can't fix the issue, she's no good.
  • While once you are friends with her, she'll be the best friend ever, getting to that point isn't easy. Portions of her old stuck up attitude still lay dormant in her mind, that may falter those trying to overcome her boundaries.
  • A massive knowledge base, isn't over exaggerating. However, it is restrictive when it comes to anything relating to science. Not necessarily things like agriculture, archaeology, and so on. But certainly when it boils down to more intense things, like clock work, most engineering, and so on.
  • Being strong with magic is great, especially in battles. But range is her only attribute in combat. If anything gets closer then five feet, she's as good as a sitting duck. No...even worse then that...

(The only thing left to add at the moment, is that this CS is still a slight WIP. It's mostly complete, but there may be a few things I want to change or add here soon, so I'll keep it under this status for the time being. I also will likely edit things much later on, as the RP progresses. However, I won't bother keep it as a 'WIP' simply for that.)

Role: Princess

Name: Princess Lily

Age: 17
(Born 11/3/1804)

Gender: Female

Appearance:

Lily has waist-length, wavy brown hair that curls naturally at the ends and is often worn down. Her eyes are almond-shaped and a mixture of shades of blue. Normally, she wears dresses fitting of a royal, but considering her exile, wears a plain dress to hide her identity. A small beauty mark/mole lies just under her left eye, though most people don't seem to notice it. Lily is petite at about 5'3", but doesn't care all that much about it.

Ideological Affiliation:

Neither/both. Lily, as princess, tries to serve as a liaison between magic and science. When given a choice, however, she'll choose the option she believes is best, given a situation.

Personality:

Being a princess, Lily was spoiled from the moment she was born, but that doesn't mean she grew up to be selfish. Oh, no, she grew up caring for her kingdom above all else, although she appreciated new clothes and fashions as well. She took all her studies of Crestodom's history and culture seriously, and finds herself easily able to make her way through most social situations. Protocol is extremely important to her, as its clear order makes her feel safe and secure. Anything that deviates from normal protocol flusters and confuses her, which is why her sudden exile is causing her great panic and anxiety.

When interacting with those below her social status, Lily is polite, but her watchful eye catches most everything, from a lord's corruption and constant adultery, to a peasant's genuine kindness. She wishes to change things for the better, but with the kingdom calling for her blood, she feels sad that her compassion may never make its way to the kingdom. New environments scare her, especially since she's been cooped up in a palace her entire life, but she tries her best to not jump at every sound. Lily considers herself lucky for having such loyal apprentices by her side, as well as the Royal Protector, but she knows that she can't trust everyone.

In the face of Crestodom rejecting her, she stayed calm and collected. But once out of the public eye, she cried for her father, wishing he had never disappeared, and fearing her impending death.

Bio:

Lily was born to the Emperor of Crestodom and his Empress, and was given everything she ever wanted. Despite such spoils, she was raised to be considerate of her kingdom, and from the time she could understand, began lessons on how to rule the kingdom. She learned everything, from history, to the basics of science, and even a little bit about magic (not how to use it, but, rather, basic things about its use and practices.) This way, she could truly serve as a liaison between the conflicting worlds of magic and science.

When she was still a young girl, Lily's mother was killed. A radical citizen who had qualms against the monarchy somehow broke into the palace one night and killed the first royal he saw--the Empress. After he had slit her throat, he found the princess's room. Terrified, Lily tried to escape, but the perpetrator caught her and held the knife to her throat, leading her down the hallway to look upon the lifeless body of her mother. The image of the blood surrounding her mother, and her widened eyes, now glazed orbs, white against the darkness, burned itself into Lily's mind, and still traumatizes her to this day.

The killer leaned down to whisper in her ear, "Now you'll join your precious mother, little kitten," but before he could kill her, a guard cut off his head, rendering him powerless in seconds. When Lily demanded why he did so, the guard blinked and replied, "To save you, of course." Little did he know this night would continue to haunt her nightmares for years to come, no matter how many reassurances she received from servants, the court, or her father. Now, Lily can't look at blood without the scene of both the killer and her mother's bodies flashing in front of her eyes.

Years later, and Lily is shaken awake, only to be told that her only family left, her father, has disappeared, along with all his advisers. Though she tried to keep a brave face while given this news, she panicked. I'm not ready to rule. I won't be ready for at least a few more years! Or even a decade!

What am I going to do?

Abilities:

-adapting to any social situation
-seeing people for who they truly are
(mostly applies to corrupt lords and mistreated peasants)

Likes:
anything pretty, people who are kind, being helpful

Dislikes:
selfishness, unkind people, corruption

Strengths/Weaknesses:

Given her upbringing, Lily has mastered many social graces, but has also managed to pick up the speech and behavioral patterns of peasants. This way, she can better disguise herself, should the need arise (and it clearly has), and is very learned in the ways of the world.

However, Lily is not very strong, and incapable of defending herself. She stumbles when presented with something she has no knowledge of, and is scared of going anywhere dark and mysterious (namely, woods or anywhere outside a town). Her biggest weakness, however, is the sight of blood. Not a paper cut, mind you, but any terrible amounts of blood. They render her speechless and utterly useless, due to the memories of her mother flashing through her mind.

Extra:
Being a princess, Lily is prone to be girly at the worst of times.
Lily may or may not have a weakness for cute animals. No one has ever been able to confirm this.

Name:

Slate Nochfolger

"It's a pleasure to meet you, I'm Slate Nochfolger."

"My name is Slate Nochfolger, learn to respect it or fear it; I care not which."

Age:

23, born on 2/11/1794

"I'm very young, I have much to learn."

"Do not mistake age for experience or maturity, despite my years I am more versed then any elders you could possibly know."

Gender:

Male

"I'm a male, although my poetry and kind nature often show my feminine sides."

"Unless you wish to experience the 'manly' parts of my body, I suggest we change subjects."

Appearance:

tumblr_inline_nsixitMejf1ryvw12_500.gif

Appearance (Details):

Slate stands at 6'0", 202 Pounds with blonder hair and red eyes. Slate is usually adorned with fancy suits and garments, but the nature of this mission requires little of his appearance. Now he travels in a white coat with fur lining it, gold jewelry on his hand and earrings. Slate doesn't have any tattoos, he is covered in a very unique scar. On the skin above Slate's heart lies an arcane symbol of Eldritch nature. The symbol is burned into Slate's left pectoral, but was also the cause of Slate's eyes going from blue to red.

Ideological Affiliation:

While Slate has no ties with Science, past relations has left Slate wanting nothing to do with Magic. Slate is a firm believer in his own abilities, having relied on himself and only himself for quite sometime, and dismisses Magic as an innovation to make the weak stronger; usually voicing this opinion as often as he can. Despite openly 'hating' Magic, Slate truthfully wants to be apart of the magic world for his own personal reasons; his past and body shows this. But, seeing as he cannot use Magic due to his past tries and bloodline, Slate always support Science.

"Magic and Science, they are both ways of growing civilization for the betterment of all lives."

"Magic, in its essence, is a nuisance to all of those around it. It is, and forever will be, the most dumbfounding ability to me. I baffle at the intelligence of those who use it, knowing that it is just a tool for the powerless to feel something other than weakness. Besides Magic uselessness, at least Science can help me in my lordly duties."

Personality:

"I am the future lord to the Nochfolger name, and as such will act proper, behaved, and of the utmost of gentlemanly behavior."

On the outside Slate is the pinnacle of a lord. Mannered, pompous, grandiose, and enchanting; all words that describe the groomed future lord. Slate, in his initial years, grew beneath the shadow of his father; molding to his view of the man. This view was a cynical, self centered, and stoic man, but with charm, grace, and an aura about him that made you honor him. While Slate took his father's charm and nature, he wanted his mother's personality. Instead of growing up and viewing the world with a biased lord's eyes, Slate learned from his mother to be compassionate, kind, and reserved in all senses.

Past his young age, Slate's personality has grown along with him. The major changes came to Slate when his mother passed away, and his father passed away from him. Emotions were high, and being abandoned by two parents, in completely opposite ways, ruined the man-to-be. The suave, caring, and upbeat child became cold, distant, and most of all; hateful. Resenting the world, his upbringing, and hating his family above all else.

"Do not mistake me for a gentle lord, or one that you will ever stand next to. I have no need for partners, friends, or family... Nor do I have a need for you."

Now, grown, Slate has reached a level to allow his lordly side to be something to marvel about. On the surface, Slate is a knowledgeable, attractive, and manipulative individual; and is initially the type of lord that one would expect to spend as much time at a desk as they do at a charitable home. He is charming, caring, and a man of many wonders; upon initially meeting him anyone will be drawn to him and his demeanor. Sadly, this sweet outer coating of Slate is a front, as the inside is quite different then what is shown.

Inside Slate is a cold, cynical, and selfish; caring only for his own betterment and improvement. While Slate can be an outstanding citizen and gentleman, his past has left him bitter to anyone who would attempt to get close to him. Instead, Slate is pompous and lofty, choosing to put himself above all then allow himself to open to someone. All in all Slate is a sincere, compassionate, and charming, but years of hiding this attitude have made his exterior distant and reserved; and it will take a miracle to break through this.

Bio:

A prestigious, clever, and strong lord of the highest stature within the kingdom; Slate's father held the Nochfolger name once his guardians had passed. The man grew his empire in both social and economic power, eventually raising his name as high as he could without a lady. While his elders attempted to decide his marriage, Slate's father had already met a woman. She was only matched in beauty by her compassion for others, but sadly she was also terribly sickly. He wanted her because she accepted the deeper parts of him, sensitivity and flaws alike. She wanted him, for he was with her through sickness and health. They loved each other in the beginning, but the disputes between the Nochfolger's nobility and her impoverished family, the love faded soon after.

They were unhappy, opposition from both sides of the family and troubles between magic and science, the couple needed something to reconnect over. It was then that Slate was born, a beautiful, strong, and miracle child for the two. While Slate's mother was sickly, the child brought joy and allowed her some form of fight against the disease. The child was everything they wanted, and soon enough Slate understood that he was destined for great things.

At a young age Slate felt as if he was royalty, being pampered by his mother and trained by his father. His mother was gentle and a hopeless romantic; teaching of nature, music, and compassion for all. On the other end Slate's father taught of business, manly hobbies, women, and being a lord. It was a beautiful life the three shared, but things began to change on Slate's fourth birthday. Once again his mother's sickly nature came out, but this time it came with many repercussions.

A year went by, and Slate's mother was reduced to a shell of her former self. Bed ridden, exhausted at all times, and noticeably pregnant with the newest addition to the Nochfolger's; Alseia. When Alseia was born the household came under many changes, the first being the relocation of her mother to the hospital wing. Their mother was subdued to days in bed, while his father was left to carry on with two children on his own; one he loved and one he loathed. This went on for another four years, agonizing for all parties.

Slate, at such a young age, initially loved Alseia and stayed with her as much as he could. While his mother's condition deteriorated, Slate watched over Alseia more and more until he had to pass on the responsibility to the many servants while he continued his studies. These studies weren't with his father as in the past, now it was a panel of scholars and lesser lords to teach him; all while his father indulged in alcohol and other women. While these activities were initially secret, Slate's father gave up on his wife's condition, his son's training, and his new daughter.

Thus Slate was left balancing the time with his mother, caring for his sister, studying for his lordship, and watching his father spiral further and further into a shell of his former self. He did this until he was nine, a boy in many eyes, but a man with experience. Each year after Alseia's birth Slate followed in his father's accelerated footsteps, eventually shying from his mother and sister all together. This distance was eventually completed upon two events, Alseia finding her magic abilities and their mother dying.

Slate's mother died around the same time Alseia awkward occurrences were connected to magic, something no one except for Slate noticed or cared enough to connect. Slate held this and upon her death bed, even after promising to look after her little sister to her mother, abandoned the thought of Alseia as anything but a nuisance. Slate attempted many things to keep his mother alive, usually scientifically, but when all else failed turned to magic. Having no arcane arts, Slate sought after unfavorable sources and used 'dark' magic to save his mother and gain his father's love back. Neither of these worked.

Slate, now, at age 23 lives with the death of his mother, the loss of his father, and abandonment of his sister; the emotional and physical scars proving this. From his father he has inherited the Nochfolger throne, as he is too lost in feebleness over his life and late life to work. From his mother the inside of Slate lives on as sensitive and caring individual, but it will take a miracle for anyone to see the true Slate out again. And lastly his sister has left him feeling hurt and used, but also a strive to be better then her.

Abilities:

Lord Training-

"I know everything from this city, to the market in front of us, to the street we are on, to the back alleys, all the way to the black market. I am the future heir to the Nochfolger name, I will continue to learn until I know every corner of this kingdom."

"The people in these streets, although they look innocent, are all thieves, addicts, and covered in blood money. And I know how to make them work for me, and none else."

Having spent his life training to be a lord, many skills and perks have imprinted on Slate. Knowledge of cities, markets, kingdoms, basically anything that could be important to Lord. Slate also is very socially, economically, technology, and all around knowledgeable in all essences of life in order to connect with anyone. Lastly, Slate's lordly training has left him as a very recognizable person with many benefits in almost any situations.

Silver Tongue-

"I must say, that you sir are the pinnacle of a merchant and I'm glad to have you as an associate. That being said, I would appreciate if you lower the price of these goods, the return I shall make on them will be vital to the withstanding between us two."

"Do not test me with these foul prices. I shall be back within the hour, if the prices aren't reasonably reduced and loaded onto my carriage, you shall face wrath that no one has withstood thus far."

Slate is charming by nature, his appearance, soothing voice, and articulation in each of his words evident in his manipulation and molding of all those he meets. This form of manipulation is kind and subtle, charm creating an atmosphere to adore Slate and all he ask of. Slate is also advanced in intimidation, deceit, and many other tactics to control those around him.

Miscellaneous Talents-

1. Performer: Slate can use various instruments and is an average vocalist, although usually only sticking to Bass or Baritone range. Slate is also a great dancer, but he rarely has opportunities to use it.

2. Writer: Years of training of writing bank slips and memos, Slate is very versed in poetry, narratives, and all literatures of the time and past.

3. Athlete/Fighter: Although not an expert fighter, Slate has had multiple classes of conventional weapons and learned of non-conventional means on the streets. Slate is well in shape, body toned, strong, and enduring.

Likes/Dislikes:

"There are many hobbies I enjoy, some more usual then others. Please don't think down on me for some of the weird ones!"

Likes-

Animals

Nature

Gambling

Bargaining

Dancing

Sweets

"If you are near me, doing one these items; I will surely judge you harshly."

Dislikes-

Magic

Family

Spicy Food

Lightning/Thunder

Kids

Hospitals

Strengths/Weaknesses:

Family Loss-

This is both a strength and weakness for Slate. Having a loss for all of those he cares for, Slate only looks out for himself. This means he is cautious, selfish, and willing to sacrifice others for his own betterment. Sadly this same loss of friends and family make Slate susceptible if someone does get close to him it becomes a new environment for Slate to compensate with.

Lord-

Slate has the strengths that come with being a Lord (as outlined in the abilities section), but these also come with many weaknesses. Slate is very recognizable, often making stealth and deceit a last option available for Slate in any situation. This also makes Slate a target for any competitor to the many businesses the Nochfolger conduct.

Magic Susceptibility-

After his attempt with dark magic, Slate is affected more by magic and its influences. This means that anything that affects his body, mind, spirit, or essence will cause more damage or be easier to use against him.

Royal Protector's Underling

Name:

"Jaeger Soule, the Poyal Protector's Underling at your service."

Jaeger Soule

Age:

"Age is of little concern to me, I shall fulfill my duties til the day I die."

21

Gender:

"I'm male, but I believe it's of little concern."

Male

Appearance:

Jaeger stands at 6'4" and weighs 224 pounds of pure muscle, dwarfing and exceeding strength in most. Red hair and red eyes have always been the most notable trait of Jaeger, but he always carries the necklace of his adopted father around his neck. Not one for jewelry or anything to bring too much attention to himself, Jaeger wears clothing for practical use. One layer for himself, then another for the Princess in case she have need for comfortableness, to dress wounds, or to cover her highness. Although his hair is usually pulled back, often by the Princess' own request, it is unusually soft.

Ideological Affiliation:

"The opinion on both of these do not matter to me, I side with the royal family's opinion and will enforce it."

Jaeger holds no quarrels between Magic or Science, viewing them equally in adept hands. As long as one does not supersede the other, become too powerful, or begin trouble for the royal family; then Jaeger has little care for Magic or Science, having uses for both in his life.

Personality:

"I shall act as I was trained, with honor and dignity in all acts of my life. I do not speak unless I need to, I only act when asked to, and only see what I am allowed to, but I am my own person.

Jaeger is a professional. Stoic, serious, and mannered in all senses of his life. The Royal Protector is always within someones eyes; be it lord, royal advisers, or the royalty themselves, Jaeger has always had to be of utmost character as he was always judged. Thus where he goes on duty he will always act with benevolence, care, and a chivalric nature, but holds himself to a military standard of loyalty, honesty, and realism to do his job of protecting the royalty and the advisers.

This is the outside of Jaeger, the person he was trained to be. Jaeger doesn't mind this side of him, as it's necessary for his work as the future Royal Protector, but many around him want to see him truly; like the Princess. Princess Lily, whom he was in charge of protecting, brought out the true Jaeger after some time together. A caring man, one who enjoys fighting just as he does cooking and writing. This other side revealed some of Jaeger's rougher edges, the boy who was battered and beaten, but Princess Lily was satisfied in seeing the real Jaeger; someone she considered a brother of sorts.

All in all Jaeger holds himself of the highest degree in career, and as such will be a professional in most settings. Protection, the main goal of his job will be the mindset of his motives and will drive him in their journey. As they go about Jaeger will find comfort or inconvenience with the group, but that will never sway him from his job. Friendships or rivalries, Jaeger will look for the best in the people and protect them as they travel. Maybe the crude wall of a stone knight will crumble before his new friends, or it will grow even thicker; only time on this Unexpected Exile will tell.

tumblr_n74qothI0y1shff2jo1_500.gif

Bio:

The Kingdom is a blossoming country full of opportunities and a dream goal for all, but not all reach it. Jaeger's parents were lowly merchants in the slums of the city attempting to make ends meats each and everyday. They sold odds and ends they would find, barter, and steal from anywhere they could. Sometime the trinkets would lead them to short burst of riches, only to be spent on their various indulges. Other times the stolen goods would only cause trouble, many a nights the couple spent by the river tending to their wounds. But someway the two always managed to get by, eventually earning enough funds to purchase a small cottage from a wealthy family with promise of further riches.

Jaeger was born some time after that and thus their trade added a new member to it. After a few years Jaeger was in charge of watching for officers, to sneaking through small entrances, and eventually conducting the heists himself. The child was able to get more and get caught less, even when he did it was only a pat on the wrist. Jaeger's parents loved the boy and his abilities, but new cash cow allowed the parents to indulge once more. The wealthy family was not seeing any of their payment returned from this family and thus saw that they were properly motivated. Jaeger watched as his parents were bloodied and beaten from beneath the bed, crawling out after to help clean their wounds.

The boy asked why this happened, wanting to know how he could help his beloved parents. The same ones that taught him to plunder and steal, lavished him with gifts when he did well, and ignored when he faltered; they turned on him. Rotten people of rotten hearts couldn't take the blame, thus they berated Jaeger on his faults. Broken physically and emotionally, they sent the boy out day and night to collect more. Being a child wouldn't save him now, the guards wasted no time to whip, kick, and throw the boy around when caught, but he continued on.

The parents collected and collected, bought themselves enough to live off of til the next Kingdom and within a month; vanished. Jaeger was left to squat in a home that wasn't his, steal to survive, and learn to live on his own. No one took pity on the boy, forgetting his name and instead calling him mutt, black cat, or an alley cat; for the way he dug through the trash and fought anyone who crossed his path. Anger, sadness, betrayal, the only people who were supposed to love and protect Jaeger left; and that idea worked through his mind day in and day out.

Jaeger's parents left at five, and at the age of seven the wealthy family got tired of kicking the boy out one month to have him back the next day. The slums were tired of the constant robbery and assault, while the guards could do nothing physical to persuade the boy to quit. The royal guards were told about the case and the Royal Protector, Allon Soule, took a particular interest into the boy. Jaeger was relocated to the palace under Allon's orders and was tested on many different things. Fighting ability, stealth, deception, intimidation, and lastly to talk with Allon. Jaeger refused to tell his story unless Allon did the same, and the upbringings were not too different. Jaeger was accepted to live under Allon, but not as the Underling, to eventually become a future royal guard.

At the age of eight Jaeger witnessed the death of the Empress and the near killing of the Princess. Jaeger watched the girl from the hall and remembered what the guard had said to her, "To save you, of course.". The thought of protecting someone else, the idea was instilled and realized within Jaeger. The next morning Jaeger trained sunrise to sunset, and he did this for the subsequent days, months, and years. On his tenth birthday Jaeger fought Allon, proving himself as a ten year old to be worthy of something. After another heart to heart, Allon found Jaeger's desperation for redemption a worthy moral compass.

Eleven years later, now twenty one years old, Jaeger has grown in position and character. Now officially the Royal Protector's Underling, as well as adopted by Allon Soule, Jaeger works alongside his father to protect the royal family. His relationship with Lily has changed through the course of these years. Initially the Jaeger closed himself from Lily, her kind nature only leading Jaeger to fear further betrayal. Many events from foiled assassinations to helping her pick out her dress has led the two to grow close whether they wanted to or not, and Jaeger eventually welcomed her as a friend. He is there as a security, comfort, and brotherly figure, but now older their relationship shows much more promise. The little girl Jaeger first knew is now a woman, and Jaeger is sometimes stumbled on what their relationship could be.

giphy.gif

Abilities:

"With a fist it is disarm, dodge, and strike. A rapier is parry and riposte. A spear is to keep distance and wait for an opening. And a sword is swish, swish, stab... As my trainer Tucker would say."

Fighter-

Whether it be fist, swords, spears, chairs, anything that can cause damage, Jaeger can use it as a weapon and well. Training by Allon, experience in the sparring room or streets have led Jaeger to be an adept fighter capable of taking on many opponents and adapting to any form, environment, or weapon to defend those around him. Although he is capable in any weaponry, Jaeger prefers his own hands and his broadsword. As well as this training has also made him a master of intimidation and wordplay, capable of dissuading most from causing problems with him.

"The front door or window is where most strike, but why? The attic carries a just as accessible balcony, the basement has a storm drain to the sewer, and their cellar is never locked; never take the most obvious path, as it is the most obvious way to be caught."

Thief-

Adept in deception, sleight of hand, and thievery; Jaeger is known for his uncanny ability to steal. This does not just mean possessions, but also his ability to observe, decipher, and adapt to many different situations in split second decisions. While he is not proud of his upbringing or skill in this, Jaeger can use this to find entrance and exit points, decide the best place to hide things or to find hidden items, as well as picking locks, picking pockets, and breaking an entering are all easy to him.

"I walk to the left of those higher than me, carry my sword and scabbard in regulation, and never fault in my bearing."

Military Standing-

Jaeger went through rigorous training to be at the form he is at now; toned, endured, strong, and hearty. This training was done by the royal guard and has instilled many skills into him. Chivalric code and gentlemanly conduct aside, Jaeger has medicinal training, survival skills, as well as knowledge of the kingdom, its courts, its conduct, and the people trustworthy to the royals.

Likes:

Cooking

Dislikes:

Thieves

Deception

Betrayal

Arrogance

Whips

Strengths/Weaknesses:

Royal Protector-

The strength of always protecting someone else is the weakness of never worrying of oneself. Jaeger has a one track mind: protect the royalty. While the strength in this is that he will do anything within his power to defend those under his jurisdiction, and those who need protection, Jaeger never truly worries for oneself. While he would dodge a bullet or save his life, of course, but if given the choice between himself and the Princess; he would let himself die a hundred times over. This is the strength of unwavering loyalty, but a weakness to throw away a life.

Stone Personality-

With the professional attitude Jaeger has, many things can be accomplished in any given time, but to the dismay of those around him. The professional complex makes Jaeger blunt, demanding, and sometimes forceful if the time calls. Orders will be passed around and he only believes himself second to the Princess. This is not a superiority complex, but a desire to do things his way to keep everyone safe. Strength in a strong character and motivations, but not all see it as such. Jaeger will be difficult for some, a weakness to not work well with others, but it will be something to get past on the journey.

Magic/Science-

The royal guards have many options in ways of protecting the royalty, but some undergo Scientific or Magical methods. A few guards can choose to have arcane symbols or glyphs be placed on their body to be activated in times of need. They can do things from light a small fire to throw a lightning bolt, but the bigger the effect the larger the cost. Science makes due in the form of the clockwork weaponry and limbs that some are beginning to use. The weapons can take another form with a switch or two, while the limbs are a weapon of themselves. Jaeger has a glyph on each arm, allowing him small amounts of magics with the drawback being exhaustion of degrees depending on the amount of magic used.

PERSONALITY
Blythe is the bearer of a rather colourful personality to say the least. Where he is kind, he is also mischievous. Where he is dedicated, he is also lazy. Where he is experienced, he is also naïve. Blythe possess various contrasting personality traits, culminating into one strange individual.

In a casual encounter he bears an attitude more akin to a child than a scientist. He acts with a great deal of unprofessionalism, almost as if he were some sort of thieving street urchin rather than a respected scientist. Blythe's child-like demeanor is his most genuine archetype: treating everyone with kindness, skipping around, and loud talking. In this state, Blythe can be easily defined as a man with a never-ending sugar high - acquiring an extremely exuberant and flamboyant personality. He can often be found boosting the morale of others and chatting up some random person he had never met for hours on end. Though he may seem like a child, Blythe can also be an extremely intelligent and cunning individual - these traits being obvious under the right conditions.

Blythe bears within a dedicated man. He may seem airheaded under most conditions, though when under a great deal of stress and pressure, Blythe turns into a rather serious individual prepared to take the reigns of any situation. A trait revealed when doing work related to his two professions, Blythe seemingly turns into a completely separate individual with separate triggers and goals. This side of Blythe, while still working towards the betterment of everyone, bears extreme temper issues. He can go from 'calm' to screaming in under a few mere seconds. Though this temperament is rather detrimental, he possesses other traits that are far more detrimental towards himself.[

Blythe is both a reckless and self-deprecating person. He often goes into situations head first without any thought despite the intelligence he bears. He has the philosophy of "act now, think later", jumping into situations where often times he cannot handle in any right. In regards to self-deprecation, Blythe practically blames himself for any negative thing associated with himself. If someone was injured, Blythe blames himself. If someone is stolen from, Blythe blames himself. And most of all, Blythe blamed himself for the disappearance of the Royal Scientist.

BIOGRAPHY
Blythe Ayers: the boy of promise. He was born on an unnamed island with his parents working as bankers of the small, independent nation. Living life comfortably, the young Blythe enjoyed various luxuries: a comfortable bed, comfortable clothing, and above all, a comfortable workspace. Blythe at an early age had showed a great interest in tinkering and various fields of science; he strived to discover the unknown and to innovate atop of the already known.

As the toddler Blythe was at the time, he hadn't accomplished anything of note, yet his parents continuously cheered the small boy on. The first object Blythe created himself were synthetic, mechanical ears at the young age of nine. Blythe's parents were rather confused with the invention, yet nonetheless, they continued to push Blythe to become the best he could become. In school he was nearly immediately the coolest person in his class - lines were made to simply pet his fake ears, and Blythe himself would admit he was addicted to the attention. Life was at an all-time high, and from there, life had only gotten better.

"Blythe! Guess what!? We're moving to a big city in Crestodom!" Blythe's mother had said to the boy on his tenth birthday. The boy was overjoyed; he had only experienced life on his island and at that particular moment, he couldn't wait to experience busy city life. The following week, the naïve boy moved with his parents by boat towards the mainland, and soon enough, they had been fully assimilated into city culture. Moving to the city was an overall excellent thing for Blythe, but it had its lows: one being is loss of innocence.

"Oi! Get that man! He snatched my money!

"F-Father? What's happening there?"

"Ah, the common thief. Don't pay attention to them, and they won't pay attention to you...hopefully."

After this event Blythe possessed another curiosity: criminology. A hobby as important to him as science in the modern day, he began to read various law books and anything of the sort for background information, pondering if there was anything he himself could do to help. Combining his skills in the engineering field with his new interest, Blythe set off to work. In a span of two years, Blythe produced his first meaningful piece of technology, dubbing it the 'BlytheCam'. It bore the appearance of a normal camera, but instead of taking pictures, it produces words. Giving full analysis of whatever is contained in the picture in one thousand words, the original BlytheCam was crude yet it still did its job with relative success. With this piece of technology he found local fame: bringing down small-time criminals that were first thought to be untraceable. The fame had even caught the attention of a specific man: the Royal Scientist himself.

One fateful evening, a now sixteen year-old Blythe was enjoying his leisure time when he heard a knock on the door. "Hello? Is Blythe Ayers taking residence in this household? Blythe had answered "yes", and the rest was practically history. A small test on the spot was given to Blythe, and in under a few days, Blythe found himself under the wing of one of the time esteemed positions in the world. The duo were more akin to a teacher-student relationship, more-so than it normally would. Scarcely engaging in field work, they spent most of their time together within a laboratory. Making various big innovations in the field of science, Blythe worked on various small gadgets and compound creations while the Royal Scientist judged them and rated them. Still deemed 'inexperienced' to the man, Blythe strived to change those words, though as time progressed, reaching such a goal was impossible.

Before the imminent demise of his boss, Blythe reached his peak in his mind. He had advanced any technology he had created; from his weird furry cosmetics to his 'BlytheCam', he was extremely satisfied with himself, even if his boss was not. A scientist by day and a detective by night, Blythe often combined both professions into one snitch powerhouse, decreasing the crime rate of his city by nearly twenty percent. The Royal Scientist often detested Blythe's side-profession, stating, "There are more productive things to engage in than playing cops and robbers, Blythe." Blythe often ignored these words much to the scientist's shagrin. It was harmonious at the time, and at the turn of a dime, Blythe's life changed for the worse

The Royal Scientist disappeared, leaving Blythe with a simple book with strange symbols placed on them. Exiled soon afterwards, Blythe left his wonderful life behind and more importantly, he had never waved his parents goodbye.

ROLE
Royal Scientist's apprentice

AFFILIATION (CONT'D)
Blythe was born and raised near science throughout his life. In spite of witnessing magic on numerous occasions, Blythe still continues to be a firm denier of the practice. "There has to be a scientific explanation for this. Magic isn't an 'arcane art', it's a part of science," he often states - angering more than a few individuals in strictly magical communities. Blythe believes if magic is not an advanced part of science, it is some sort of gimmick conducted with hidden machines within or on an individual.

ABILITIES
Eidetic Memory - also known as "photographic memory", Blythe has possessed eidetic memory from an early age. Bearers of this gift (or often times curse) can mentally recall anything and everything the individual has ever been allowed to remember over the course of their entire lives. He often applies this gift to reading texts his late scientist had assigned him or to remember crime scenes. Things such as alcohol consumption or any thing that "fogs" ones memories still applies to Blythe.
Gadget Mastery - while the Royal Scientist often scolds Blythe for his lack of extreme brilliance in most fields, Blythe is arguably a better tinkerer and engineer than the Royal Scientist himself. Combined with his eidetic memory, Blythe can often memorize schematics and apply them into later situations, saving his own likeness on more than one occasion.

ABILITIES
Deft feet - in spite of his low stamina, Blythe can often traverse various terrains with relative ease. Using basic acrobatic techniques and the art of 'showing people out of the way', Blythe can often times escape a fight as quickly as he enters one.
Persuasion - Blythe, while unsure of where he had acquired such a skill, is proficient in the art of speechcraft. Changing his general attitude on the flip of a dime depending on the situation, Blythe can seamlessly fit into any social clique with frightening ease.
Science Proficiency - obviously proficient in science, while deemed 'inexperienced' by the Royal Scientist, Blythe has a talent in the field. Whether it be chemistry, biology, or any other field, Blythe has some sort of talent and knowledge of the given subject.
Investigative Mindset - Blythe can approach most problems with ease. He is a born detective, if not a scientist. He applies this strength in both in side profession of solving crime and his main profession of innovation through science.

ABILITIES
Brittle Physique - Blythe possesses a small frame and weak body, leading to a man who can often go down with a few well placed punches. While he has re-enforced his clothing greatly to compensate for his physical ineptitude, he still has a rather low stamina - even more so under the weight of his equipment.
Gullible and Easily Seduced - Blythe suffers from extreme gullibility and extreme susceptibility to seduction. If used in tandem, Blythe often accidentally allows various numbers of criminals and thieves alike steal his possessions.
Cocky - Blythe is a showboating attention whore to the highest degree. Rooted from the attention he had gotten as a child, Blythe is similar to the child continuously clawing for attention, whether they deserve it or not.

TRIVIA
- Blythe wears two extensions on his head that have the appearance of animal ears and an something that looks to be a tail between his legs. These are both obviously prosthetic, modified and engineered in a way that would respond to the environment around him. While they serve no purpose aside from being purely cosmetic, Blythe argues that they, "Give me more charisma with women."
- Blythe has an itchy trigger finger with his camera. Whenever he meets someone, he often takes a picture of them to soak in as much initial information as he could.
