Ayako Konamura

"It's like they get dumber with each one you kill..." Ayako commented with a shake of her head at the two who had been melted quite brutally. "Yes, we shall. The faster we get to Konoha the faster we can understand what happened and orchestrate a solid plan to rescue Hatsuhara." It seemed like the world was finally being shook. She would make sure that her village as well as herself would come out with the least amount of wounds.

Koujaku Hozuki; Travelling
Koujaku sighed; he could see this trip was rapidly turning into a trainwreck just waiting to happen.

The ninja who had been foolhardy enough to try to ambush the Lord Mizukage were soon taught a harsh lesson, having been reduced to no more than fodder for the stray dogs that no doubt populated the forests.

Right from the start, he'd been trying to ascertain what Gons actual intentions were regarding this trip to Konoha, though he was aware of the fact that Gonbara and the Leafs Hokage, Ryouichi Senju were in fact, very close friends which was a deciding factor in allowing Hatsuharu to relocate to the Leaf in the first place; it had also been many months since she'd last returned to the Hidden Mist long enough for Gon and her to actually cross paths. Though he suspected that part of it was due to a mutual avoidance.

The thought of seeing her was probably why he'd been so eager to depart for the Leaf and now, wether he tried to hide it or not, Gon seemed to be struggling with the reality of the situation.

Koujaku slowed his pace slightly, nearing Ayako, he leant down near her ear and began to speak in a low whisper

"Be prepared for the worst. This doesnt seem like it will end well"

He winked slightly, a soft smile on his face as he hurried to catch back up to Gonbara.

Jou Yuki

The sell-sword gripped the golden amulet firmly with his right hand, lifting it up and aligning the amulet with the hot son of Sunagakure. The light from the sun made the gold all the more radiant, making the intricate design that was sculpted in to the amulet all the more visible. It is no surprise why that thief would risk his life trying to steal such a prize, something like this is worth several months worth of food. Jou coiled the necklace tightly, securing the treasure in his pocket to deliver to the caravan. He was about to start the short track back to his friends, when he felt something odd in his stomach. His mind darted back to Saiken, the vile beast that was sealed within him long ago. He clawed at his own stomach, gripping it with all of his fingers. It felt like every last hair on his body was standing up on its own. The feeling trickled up his spine, until it reached his head, and then his ears.

"...Shukaku..." The voice said coyly, before trailing off. Almost immediately after that sound met his ears, the feeling had subsided. The young man had caught a lot of attention during this strange little tirade. His cheeks became flush with red, he pushed through the increasingly large crowd of the market district and made his way back to his caravan. He would not think anything of this little incident, it was silly to care for the words of a demon.

He made his way back to the stall in which the necklace was taken from, and dumped the amulet on the wooden surface with a clank. Hirata's rhinestone eyes shot back at him, his mouth contorted to express his curiosity.

"What took you so long?" Hirata questioned raising an inquisitive eyebrow.

Jou felt the same rush of red return to his face, embarrassed. "He was a lot faster than I expected, took me awhile to track him down." Jou retorted, clearly lying through his teeth.

"Uh huh." Hirata responded, not the least bit convinced by Jou's tall tale. The salesmen shook his head, before retracting his attention from Jou, and returned to focusing on his customers. Jou returned to his familiar spot on the stall, with a little bit less pride.

Suzukage; Sunagakure
Suzukage had been silent for the majority of the trip, the only audible sounds being the small sigh that accompanied his exhaling of the smokey contents of his pipe; which still hung from the left corner of his mouth.

The contraption on which they rode seemed peculiar to say the least, and although he'd deduced that it truly was a puppet, he'd only ever personally been fond of puppets of the conventional kind.

The two new recruits, both of whom seemed to be Sand shinobi, were an interesting addition to what he'd brand a motley crue of rogue ninja.

Perhaps things were going to get interesting soon?

He'd never cared much for the Land of Wind, the landscape was mostly barren deserts and the people proved to be the same more often than not.

Although Sunagakure was one of the few villages where he was lesser known, though that wasn't sure to last if the expression Sosuke had on his face were anything to go by.

Lifting his sleeve to his nose, blocking the sand being whipped up by the slight breeze that carried through the desert, he narrowed his eyes, content to merely observe the events from the back of the gathered group.

Gonbara chimed back at them," I can hear you, you know. Hurry up if we keep walking we can make it there alot quicker." Gon said now walking faster forward. He looked at the sky, past all the trees and leaves. Past all the land scarred from past battles, and towards the leaf. Would he people to control the three tails? True the three tails is probably one of the more tame of the Tailed beast, but tame doesn't mean much for a tailed beast. But still the seal branded on him was strong, and new. So the likelihood that the Three tails would turn up wasn't great, although stranger things have occurred. More impossible things, and the Tailed beast were always extremely powerful and unpredictable. It was quite a while, maybe hours, before they were at a halfway mark. A little tea shop that was positioned on the road to the leaf."Alright, let's take a break here. I could use something to drink, and maybe a snack."

"Taking extra precautions, we'd really like to avoid your new friend showing up"

Koujaku smiled innocently, fanning his hand in front of his face to relieve some of the heat on his face.

The sun seemed to be particularily unrelenting this day, the heat of which progressively increased as the day dragged on.

He'd never been so relieved at the sight of the Tea Shop, which was situated in one of the smallest Villages he'd ever seen, if it could even be called that at all.

The tea shop seemed to be the only store around and the rest of the small hovel like buildings seemed to serve as dwelling houses for the few residents that scattered around.

Koujaku looked at his two companions, a wide grin on his face as he slapped the both of them on the back in what was meant to be a friendly gesture, before hurrying the both them inside.

"Food is the essence of the soul, lets go I'll even treat this time"

Gon scoffed in a snobbish way at Koujis words." What do you mean you'll pay this time?" He said in his best imitation of snobby privileged royalty." I am Lord Gonbara Yamamoto! Head of the Yamamoto clan, and the seventh Mizukage! I always eat free." Gonbara looked down at them while keeping his nose turned up. Then after suppressing it for a few seconds he burst into laughter."Hahahaha oh I'm sorry guy! I had to do that, I mean can you imagine? Me? As snobby and spoiled? Yeah thanks Kouji, I'll be sure to pay next time." Gon took a seat inside the tea shop and waited for the other."Just get me whatever Kouji," Gon said as he leaned on the small table he was sat in front of. He shortly drifted into thought, of how this journey would turn out.

Ayako Konamura

'Precautions....' There were a number of things one could infer from that statement alone, none of them good at all. But nevertheless she merely exhaled a sigh before taking off next to her fellow companions. And as the landscape proceeded to constantly change, it became abundantly clear that they were growing closer to the Leaf with each step. At least they were, until Gon decided to make a stop for refreshments. A frown quickly graced her features before vanishing just as fast. If her Kage wanted to stop, despite the situation, who was she to deny him that.

Plus Kouji was paying. That always made it better. "I'll take sushi, or whatever seafood they have." The cuisine of the ocean was trully something to be admired. Diverse in taste and size, it was delectable. "Mizukage-dono, how do you think the situation with Hatsuhara will play out. Do you know anyone who might have it out for her? A specific person or even a group?" Ayako queried with folded arms.

A sweatdrop formed above his left eye as he watched Gonbara's dramatic rendition of the spoiled king, making a mental note to apologise to the storekeep once he'd collected their meals.

"Sushi and whatever. Simple enough"

He watched them traverse the distance to the corner table before he strode over to the counter; placing an order for a tray of an assortment of tuna and salmon sushi, two noodle trays and a side order of rice and various meats, almost forgetting to add in the iced tea he'd been thinking about fir the better part of the day.

Apologising profusely to the storekeep as he paid the bill, it was only a few moments before he'd returned and placed their meals on the table before seating himself as well.

"Because I could kick your ass across the five great nations." Gon said with a rambunctious smile. He then gritted his teeth as Ayako asked about his opinion on the meeting."Hopefully it goes well, me and Ryou have been friends for a long time, and I'll be damned if I'm gonna let a giant turtle screw that up." Before he could explain further Kouji came back with the food. Mouth watering and smiling like a wild beast he said," thank you for this food." Then grabbed the rice and meat and began eating it not bothering to ask what was for who. Upon resurfacing from the bowl of rice that he had piled with meats he smiled with grains of rice stuck to his face. He held out the bowl and licks his lips," more please." He said in a hurried voice, as if he hadn't just eaten, and was starving.

Ayako Konamura

Ayako really didn't have much of an idea of what the three tails had to do with the current situation if she was being completely honest with herself. And she was about to voice her confusion when the food arrived. 'I suppose it can wait...' Was the thought that ran through her mind before she began to inhale the food that was placed In front of her. And not before long, she was cleaning her teeth with a Kunai."Not bad. Not as good as Kiri's of course but not bad indeed. Thanks for taking the bill Kouji. I'll be sure to return the favor the next time we're out together."

Upon finishing his meal, he tubbed his stomach greatfully, leaning against the back of his chair he spied the rather confused expression which was present if only for a moment on Ayako's face.

"Also, as another 'aid' I'd like to inform you that as of just recently, our Lord here is also the new jinchuuriku host for Isobu"

Koujaku added rather non-chalantly, raising his hand an calling out an order for more food for Gonbara

'Hokage'

Location: Hokage Office

"No, no. I'm fine Rin, you needn't worry about me." Ryou said in one breath, a look on his face that retained slight bother as he said it, conflicting everything he had just said. It was then that Tremki appeared, and the Hokage could tell right off that yet even more bad news was to follow. And as the Kaguya spoke, it seemed that Ryou was correct. The Hokage listened to everything the shinobi had to say before responding, going over to the large window and standing by it, looking outside at the village as he spoke. "So, if Suzukage wasn't the one responsible for this hole that trapped Haru, then who was? I'm assuming this means that he's working with someone. Damn it.". The male sighed quietly as he then turned around to look at Tremki. "I got a message from the previous Mizukage, its contents spoke of a strange group heading towards the village. If I'm correct, then Suzukage is most definitely one of the groups members." Folding his arms, he continued, "I'll inform the Mizukage of our situation regarding Haru. You've done well Tremki, I'll still pay you half of the reward for your efforts." Ryou, sighed, and then smiled as he acknowledged Hiyami's presence.

"You look very glum today Ryou"

As soon as Ryouichi acknowledged her presence, Hiyami forgot about the young boy climbing out the window and instead proceeded to let herself in his office, her cheeks a slight shade of pink as she did so.

She took a moment to acknowledge the others currently present in the room, neither of whom she'd ever seen before, although the white haired stranger reminded her of Haru.

That brought her thoughts back to the midnight conversation, and she paused to consider if the tension in the air had anything to do with that. The feeling had bothered her for most of the night, a looming sense of dread seemed to hang above the Village.

She'd stopped by the small home that her friend Haru normally lived in on the rare occassion she was in the Village for an extended amount of time, and found no sight or sound of her although today was usually the day Hatsuharu trained with herself and her father.

She found the entire situation unsettling and the air currently present in the room only furthered her suspicions; though she thought better than to say anything about it.

Instead, she turned to the white hair male and the other female present and bowed to the both of them.

"Pleased to make your acquaintance, I am Hiyama Hyuga, Heiress apparent of the Hyuga Clan"

She'd been taught to always introduce oneself in the presence of others and did so accordingly before her attentioned turned towards the beacon esque lights that flashed in the distance above the forests that gave Konoha its name

Rin Hagane: Hokage Tower

Rin sighed in disbelief. There was clearly something going on that he wasn't telling her about for whatever reason. Oh well, she figured it was a good reason. "Alright. Well. Just let me know if you need help, alright? Always willing to lend a hand." She replied. About three seconds later Tremki appeared, speaking of some mission and some Haru girl. Ah well, more things she wasn't involved in. Though perhaps thats what had been bothering Ryou? It was possible, most assuredly so. But even so from the sound of things even if she wanted to help she couldn't, she didn't exactly have freaky teleporting hole tracking powers after all. Apparently there was some group coming to Honogakure. Interesting. Rin would definetely stick around to see if they were hostile or anything, especially if a Kage was amongst them. Ryou could hold his own but he might need help.

Soon enough some girl appeared in the room, Rin turned to her and arched a brow while she sipped her sake idly. She assumed Ryou knew her from the fact he didn't attack her. She figured Hiyama was a known guest due to the Hokage tower guards not attacking her. When she introduced herself Rin smiled in response, "
Names' Rin Hagane, Haganekage. Nice to meetcha Hiyama." She replied. Shortly after Tremki had spoke there was a decently loud and obvious sound of an explosion, though before she could say anything Tremki brought their attention to it. She stepped over to the window and looked up. Fireworks? Odd. No, more like some kind of signal. The question was, should she check it out or would Ryou have Tremki do it? "What do you suppose it is from?" She asked everyone present.

Ayako Konamura

"It's fine then, I'm sure it can wait for another time..."
To say she wasn't curious would be a lie. But she wasn't absolutely dying to know either. While that topic was extremely important, she was also sure that it would be discussed once they reached Konohagakure.

"Also, as another 'aid' I'd like to inform you that as of just recently, our Lord here is also the new jinchuuriku host for Isobu"

That...was unexpected. And also explained a lot.

"Cattle prod...safety measures....Jinchuuriki neutralizer."

'The things you gleam when people think you are asleep....Though even if it came to restraining a Bijuu or a Jinchuuriki, I have no idea how exactly to do so. Wasn't like there was much practice after all.... The Sixth was far more craftier than even I realized. Nevertheless it should never come to that. The Mizukage is strong in body and even more solid in will.'

"
Congratulations are in order I suppose then! Have you communicated with the Sanbi yet?" She called the waitress over to take away her own plates, signifying that she was done and ready to leave whenever they were.

Gon quickly took out his kunai, and began tossing the furiously at Kouji." What the hell's wrong with you! You can't just go telling people stuff like that! Even our own, and in such a public place! I should have you exiled for such treason!" Gon roared as he continued to toss kunai at Kouji that would safely hit the wall, once they went though him. Gon stopped for a second and gave Ayako a warning glance," look I'd think as a hidden mist shinobi you'd have enough sense to not mention such things in public. I'm already a kage, and as one I have assassination attempts on me constantly. It wouldn't be smart to let this information be heard by nosey citizens, or worse rogues." "The only reason anyones going to know is if ypu keep drawing attention to yourself with your little outbursts"

Koujaku replied simply, still looking as relaxed as ever as he leaned against the back of his chair even as the kunai sailed passed his head.

If anything, the little display made him sigh audibly, he wondered why he didnt just actually retire and settle down to live a cushy life in the Village instead of babysitting the Mizukage.

"And besides, who do you thinks job its going to be to restrain you if you lose it which, might I add, is extemely likely considering how emotionally involved you are in this situation"

Ayako sheepishly rubbed her head at her mishap before glancing around to see if there were any would be listeners. All civilians and no rogues populated the out of the way tea shop. "Apologies Mizukage-dono, it won't happen again..." Though in her personal opinion the Yamamoto head did overreact a bit. At Kouji's words however it took all of her considerable self control in order to not show any outward emotions on her visage.

Koujaku Hozuki; Tea Shop
Koujaku raised an eyebrow, his blue eyes shifting from Ayako, quite visibly surprised by Gonbara's seemingly nonchalant attitude.

Ever since Raiton, Kouji's favoured messenger hawk, delivered the message from the village earlier that morning, he'd been preparing himself to deal with what he thought would be a major meltdown on Gonbara's part.

The memory of Haru's departure from the Hidden Mist, the day she left to assume service under the Hokage was still as clear to Koujaku as if it had been just the other day, though realistically, she'd been gone for nigh on 8 months.

He wasn't normally one to take particular notice of things and although he did find himself missing her company on occasion, the scar that stretched across his chest was a rather unfortunate gift from Gonbara and served as a rather stark reminder as to why one should not get hung up on women.

"I'm surprised, you're in better shape than I thought you would be"

He couldn't help but chuckle at his words, watching the man they called Lord Mizukage struggle to lift himself out of his chair on account of over eating seemed to make the situation funnier.

It wasn't long before Koujaku's booming laugh reverberated from the walls of the tea shop, causing the various storehands to lift their hands to their ears and run off.

"And they call you Kage. Alright, seems like you wont make it very far today in that state. We'll keep going until we come across an inn"

Hiro Yurikama; Konoha, school; eighth grade.

Hiro sat in class looking out the window dozing. His teacher was talking to the class about something or other he wasn't listening. This mischievous fourteen year old kid, with his brown hair, brown eyes, and tall build was on the verge of falling asleep. "HIRO!" his teacher yelled.

"WHAT UH 25! NO WAIT 80! What was the question?" Hiro asked.

"We are talking about the legend of the shinobi so if you would please pay attention."

Ayako merely disregarded Kouji's later words, the man was simply being paranoid at this point. And while being paranoid Exactly bad for a Shinobi, it often made things more difficult than they had to be. Upon hearing Gon's suggestion however, Ayako couldn't contain her outburst. "No! We've wasted enough time already!" After her statement she felt a tiny bit embarrassed that she had spoken to her superior like that before she shook it off. No going back now. "With all due respect Mizukage-dono, with every second we waste, that's another second Hatsuhara gets further away from us and perhaps further away from her own life we can rest in Konoha if you'd still like but I personally think that the best move would to understand the situation, rest and then tackle it without wasting anytime on getting us up to speed while having more time to think on it."

Gonbara looked from the loud obnoxious laughter of Kouji, to the abrupt outburst of Ayako. He raised an eyebrow at her words then sighed," in all honesty our getting there won't help the situation much. Do you honestly believe that the hokage doesn't have every man available searching for her? What do you think us getting there faster will do to help the situation? The only reason we're going to the leaf is to discuss our next course of action, and to figure out what the hell's going on. But in all reality, whoever took Haru probably either already killed her. But if she is still alive, then obviously they have plans for her, plans we can't allow to succeed. So I suppose we can keep walking, that is if you think it'll make a difference?" Gonbara stood up and gave her a expectant look, his tone was cold and serious, more like that of a kages than his normal demeanor.

Koujaku Hozuki; Tea Shop
Koujaku's attention turned back to Ayako and he had to really restrain himself from erupting in another loud burst of laughter.

He took her little outburst as a sign that she was becoming more comfortable with the two of them and the thought somewhat made the old shinobi happy, though the sudden change in Gonbara's demeanour was so noticeable that Kouji had to do a double take.

He sighed, placing his hands on the table to push himself back and out of his seat, the legs of the chair scraping loudly as he raised himself to his feet, brushing the crumbs of food from the front of his vest. He'd decided he was done playing the cautious figure and, given that it wasn't as much fun as he thought it would be.

Without really looking at either of them, Koujaku checked the bindings on Hiramekarei, took a swig of sake from his belt and strolled casually out the door, a vague "thank you" yelled out to the store keep as he departed.

he was sure they'd be glad to see the back of them in the end.

Ayako Konamura

Ayako, to her credit did not flinch or even back down in the face of her Kage. "What you say is true, but if we get there and get debriefed on the situation, we may be able to glean some information on who captured Hatsuhara that the leaf can't. We just might have the answers they're looking for, the last piece of the puzzle. And even if I'm wrong I do not care. Kiri ninja take care of their own." If there was one positive thing that came out of the civil war all those years ago, it was the newfound sense of comraadery and unity amongst the denizens of Kirigakure. "What more do we have to lose other than an hour or two of rest if we don't rest and continue on?"
