Personality:

A fine combination of intellect, humour, wit, strength and feminine charm, Katerina doesn't have to try to impress people. At least that's what she believes to be true. Which is why people think she is self-centered or conceited. Beneath the tough exterior, is a sensitive, little girl who treasures every little thing she possesses. Kind hearted and courteous, she is always ready to help the needy, be it friends, family or strangers.

Katerina moves through the world in her own terms and pace. She is enthusiastic and always ready for adventure and excitement. She loves surprises and thinking outside of the box, anything predictable or out of the text-book just dampens her spirit. At first she may seem selfish and, well pretty much as a bitch, but there does exist a generous side of her. Though she only shows it to people who she thinks are worthy of it. Furthermore, Katerina doesn't spend her time whining about how the world has been unfair to her and things like that. She actually doesn't talk much about her past or her family. And even if she does, she will quickly bounce back. It is her courage, enthusiasm, positivity and love for her loved ones that gives her great strength to face the challenges of life. Though Katerina will never trust anyone easily, as her other truly loved ones in her past either have died or left.

However, Katerina does tend to be outspoken, overconfident, and most times, quite blunt. Expecting her to listen to somebody's great sorrows endlessly and heal their wounds patiently is a bit too much to ask for. Confrontational, short-tempered and controlling, she rarely admits to her flaws or failures and is not so keen about fixing her mistakes. Katerina knows how to play with her words in order to get what she wants. While it is a positive trait to an extent, it also makes her manipulative. Moreover, Katerina is a very intelligent and attentive individual, and won't easily forget details she thinks is important. Though she is smart, she sometimes hides it from people. She is also a creative and imaginative individual who likes to keep busy with artistic pursuits.

Although often the one to start off projects enthusiastically and with passion, Katerina is not a great finisher. Once the initial excitement dies down, she often loses interest to continue, and in all likelihood, will shift focus to another goal or adventures, including romantic interests. Which is how she is known to be a bit, well maybe more than a bit, of a flirt. She likes to jump from a guy, or girl, to the other, but never get commited to anyone.

History:

You could say that she was born into a dysfunctional family.

Katerina's parents were never meant to be, but it still happened. Her father was a rich, spoiled russian boy and her mother a brazilian stripper and prostitute who switched countries to escape going to prison. They met one night when Katerina's mother, Paula, was working and her father, Dimitri. One thing led to another and nine months later, Katerina was born.

Neither parent wanted her, so they were going to put her up for adoption. That is until her paternal grandfather, Aleksander, stepped in. He and his wife named the baby and raised her as their own. She never doubted she was their child, she even called them Mamushka and Papochka, but as she grew up, she started noticing things. For example, she had dark hair and an olive tone to her skin, and her grandparents had both pale complexions with blonde hair and blue eyes. When she was 14, she confronted her grandparents about this subject. They told her the truth and she demanded to be taken to them. They informed her that her mother had sadly already passed away due to drug overdose, but they could take her to her father if she wished. She did and they went at once.

But her father wasn't exactly what she had in mind, or what any normal tween girl would expect her father to be. Even though her grandparents warned her, she went in alone to her father's house. It was probably one, if not the, biggest mistake she ever committed. He was an alcoholic and didn't listen or even recognize something familiar in her. He thought she was a showgirl, seeing as she'd already was growing into her feminine curves, and he pinned her down, ignoring her pleas and cries, and raped her. She couldn't get out fast enough and she didn't say anything to her grandparents. She changed from the goody-two-shoes she was to being a delinquent. She even changed her friends and started smoking.

One night, she had a relatively nasty fight with her grandparents and had taken her lighter away. Since the household was Russian Orthodox, they had a praying room. She went there because they only blew off the candles before going to sleep. So Katerina started smoking and soon her grandparents could smell what she was doing. She heard their angry footsteps and panicked, dropping her cigarette to the floor. She ran out the door and barely could evade them as she ran to her room. Katerina began shoving stuff in the small suitcase she had on her closet. She didn't stop or look back, but she did come back after some time. Though there was nothing to come back to. The house was burnt down, the people inside must've forgotten to blow out their candles mused the firemen. But she knew that her grandparents would never forget, it was her fault.

(will finish this after but basically after she inherited mostly all of her grandparents money, which was quite the sum, and went to live with her uncle Ivan in Siberia until he died of cancer. She then ended up in the States and in foster care. Her foster family doesn't know anything about her past, just that she was born and raised in Russia.)

History:

Jaxson was born and raised in Poland. When he was 9 years old his parents got horrible news. His father had testicular cancer. After the fight for his life he found out there was no way for him to be the father of anymore children. His parents were devastated and it started a year full of fights. While his parents fought Jaxson hid. He was just a young scared little boy. That's when his neighbor gave him an old Polaroid camera. That's when his love for photography began. He's parents soon realized his talent behind the lens. For his 10th birthday they surprised him with a trip to South Korea and a new camera. He spent hours in the city of Seoul just taking pictures. He did realize something though. His parents seemed happier than before. Happier than the last year. That night he was left alone in a hotel room by himself, as his parents had business to take care of. When he woke the next morning there was a small Korean girl, staring him in the face. Thats how he met his new adoptive sister Jung-Eun. He hated her at first, but he soon figured out that she actually fixed his parents from splitting up. He soon became very protective of her, not ever wanting her to experience the hate he felt in his family for a year. After that his new family packed up from Poland and moved to Chicago, Illinois.

He got accepted into Brooksfields due to his math Skills. He's great at figuring out problems quickly. Often called the human calculator.

Jung-Eun is very sweet and caring but won't approach people to talk to. She perfectly okay with being alone although sometimes it gets her sad. It took her many years to get friends in Chicago (mainly because she was bullied for being adopted) and is almost afraid to make friends here, quietly hoping it'll be easier. However, if someone is in a pickle she'll be the first to ask if they need help. This is because she feels the need to help people since her mom and dad helped her by adopting her. She has this very submissive complex to her and obeys the rules very strictly, not wanting to disappoint anyone. She also will stick up for anyone who is getting bullied because she was bullied and doesn't want people to feel that way.

History:

When Jung-Eun was born she was loved greatly. Her birth parents spoiled her and never wanted to leave their beautiful daughters side. That was until one night they were murder in their car when she was six. This traumatic experience has stayed with her forever, but hasn't had it effect her too much. After a year in harsh foster care traditions she was adopted by two lovely polish people. She never lived in poland for after they adopted her they moved to America. From that day on she considered them family and never wanted to leave them. She doesnt think of them differently than how you would think of your parents. However as she started attending secondary school she was treated harsher and harsher, being made fun of for having an accent, being adopted, and for not belonging. The only condolence she had was in her music and her older brother.

Jersey is a blunt and sarcastic girl. She loves to see the people she hates get humiliated...but not to the point it will be severe. History:

Jersey was born in Germany and was raised there until see was 10. Her parents decided to move to America to start a better life. So far it was good. They put Jersey in a good schools and everything was fine until Jersey started going against her family and doing what she wanted to do and wanting to be who she wants to be. Jersey decided to become an artist and started drawing at the age of 6. She was only 13 when she came out to her parents that she was bi-sexual and actually liked girls and boys. Luckily, her parents accepted her being who she is and what she wants to be. Before her parents decided to permanently move to the US, they have lived in many other countries. This was a hard time for Jersey since she would never see her friends anymore. Later on in her teenage years she has reunited with her friends from other countries and have actually visited them. When she was 14 she was jumped and attacked because people couldn't accept her being a bi-sexual. This cause her to mask her emotions a little bit but not too much. She finally found friends who understand and accept her and now she has no problem expressing herself. When she was 16 she has been selling her work of arts but has been using the name Amaline. Like her Twitter username suggests, Mattie is an enigma. She's beautiful, thought-provoking, and interesting, but she is oh-so-puzzling. Her classmates know her as the quiet girl who sits in the back of class. The avid followers of her blog know her as an outgoing, chic lesbian. To be honest, Mattie is both and neither. She keeps a lot of her true self hidden. She hates being around people, but when she absolutely has to she can ditch her shell for a little bit. When she was thirteen, she started putting together her own outfits from Goodwill, rejecting the designer clothes her parents showered her with. Her parents were baffled as to why. At fifteen, she tried pot for the first time. And when she was sixteen, she kissed a girl and knew she was never going back. History

Allison, being the youngest of two children, lost her brother when she was 8. This was after years of him being drugged daily, much to the despair of his parents. Allison on the other hand, was the perfect little daughter. She sat correctly, she spoke correctly, and she was with everyone who her parents said was alright and no one else.

That was until they moved town after she turned 9, just six months after her brothers passing. This lead to her getting a rougher personality and outside, towards everyone but those few she dared to let close. Rick has never been a really social guy. He's been more of a guy who just follows his own road, does whatever feels right, what is calling for him. He's musical though. History

Rick grew up as what he himself would consider relatively normal, though he had a couple issues already early on. He gained diabetes when he was quite young, having to deal with insulin while others got high on sugar, and having to consider what he was eating.

His parents had divorced by the time he was 5, and he ended up living with his father, who was in a partnership with a male. So it became Dad, and papa, while his mother remained out of his life. His fathers were too busy with working to really pay attention to what he was doing, so Rick early on started to do more or less everything he shouldn't do, like getting into relationships with older men, or knocking up girls. Yet, when he was accepted into BAoYT he was supposed to start behaving better, but the only thing that changed was that he started doing everything more secretly from his dads.

Personality: Conner loves reading and learning, and has a knack for picking up languages. Blending in is a short-term goal of his, and eventually he hopes to be virtually invisible. He settled in quickly after he realized that he could at the very least trust the people around him. However, life was boring, and he had to constantly find something to enthrall him, leading to a love of learning. It was great for a few years, but there was a fire when Kaneda was 14 and the house burned down, and though they were insured and didn't lose much monetarily, one of the twins died in it. The family moved across country and the topic was banned from the household. The kids were all given a fairly large allowance to stay out of trouble, and Conner tried to ignore the fights at night. All the children still young enough to need schooling- all but two- were sent off to different boarding schools based on their talents.

Anya is in many ways a compassionate person yet she cares just as much about herself as others; sometimes even a bit more. Anya was raised in a unique family. Her mother, a hippie much like herself, married her father, a rather successful businessman, even though they were such opposites. The two were inseparable and halfway decent people though they couldn't care less about Anya's existence. When Anya was thirteen, her mother announced that she was pregnant with her second child. Two years later, Anya was officially the outcast; her parents now verbally expressing their distaste towards her as they spent almost all of their time focused on their new child.

Figuring she wouldn't be missed anyways, she chose to disappear for awhile and travel the country with a handful of older friends. After a year or so had gone by, she returned home only to discover that her parents had moved out, further proving that, to them, she never existed. Once she was officially emancipated, she began doing all she could to support herself while experimenting with various substances in her spare time. Her entire outlook on life eventually changed to a point where she simply chose to forget her past entirely and now refuses to speak about her parents.

Two summers ago, she was heading to a party with a group of friends when they decided to move the location to an abandoned building. Being the one with set skills, Anya was forced to take the blame for breaking into the building and was caught, for the first time, in possession of illegal substances. Luckily, they cut her some slack and only sentenced her to a month jail time followed by several months of probation. While she was on probation, she decided to switch schools and applied here. Due to her excellent academic achievements, the school chose to overlook her little blunder and accepted her with minor bribing.

Link is reckless and unthinking. His Father gives him pocket money, rather generously, and being an only child means that he has an abundantly filled bank and never has to be worried about a tell-tale if he throws a party. He likes to drink, smoke, and drive motor-cycles. He really has nothing else to do. He doesn't have any talents-hell, he doesn't need any talents. His Father pays for everything, and he has a great time. Well, apart from the fact that he has no real friends. He can sometimes come across as a little narcissistic, as if he knows that people will like him because of his funds. He acts, sometimes, very careless of other people's feelings, and sometimes simply turns a blind eye to bullying; simply saying that it's 'not his business.'

Although Link can be a little abhorrent, he has a kinder side to him. He is loyal; to his Father especially. If he had someone special in his life, he would spoil them. He wants to share his whole life with someone, and he knows that money isn't the answer to everything. He is secretly a lover, not a fighter, and although he has got into trouble with the law for speeding or drink driving before, he is level headed when he needs to be.

History:

Link's Parents met when Link's Mother began work at Link's Fathers law firm. They were both lawyers. They were both chasing forty.They both wanted a family, but there was never any love there, and things were destined to fail. They rushed to get married; fearing that their biological clock was ticking. They had Link within a year of their marriage, and things began to go downhill. On the outside, they looked perfect. A small, wealthy family with a nice house. But Link's parents relationship took its toll on his Mother. She began to drink more and more and more. She became angry; embarrassing. And Link's Father had to throw her out of the Law firm. This was her chance to leave, and she did. She took her last pay check and left all of her belongings behind; including an empty bottle of whiskey.

Talents:

-Driving.

-A little bit of photography.

-Fixing bikes.

Skills:

Link isn't sure that he's talented at all. He likes motorcycle mechanics, but his Father was the real reason he go into the school.

Personality: Trevor is your classic nerd- his nose is almost always buried in a book, and his fingers hold pens and pencils more often than not. He has always gotten good grades, but he’s not really the teacher’s pet because he purposely sits in the back and avoids speaking in class. Trevor is terribly shy, yet surprisingly, he is a talented actor. He loves acting and dancing the most because he can be someone else- someone other than Trevor the academic nerd. Of course, being a theatre geek doesn’t really boost his reputation, but it’s something that Trevor won’t give up. His biggest dream is to be a Broadway performer, but he lacks the self-confidence to believe such a thing could really happen for him.

Although he would never betray someone, Trevor has a hard time trusting that others won’t hurt him, especially after his last relationship. He used to be quite affectionate but now balks at even a friendly pat on the shoulder. He has trouble forgiving the damage done to him, but he won’t open up about the things he deals with. Instead, he buries them beneath academics and creative arts. Trevor hates conflict, and he believes that if he just avoids the problems, they’ll eventually disappear. He isn’t very expressive but rather, calm and collected. Even at his worst, he’s only passive aggressive.

Trevor has spent much of his life admiring other people and their talents, and it is not unusual for him to have more than one crush at a time. On the other hand, middle school did not treat him kindly. In addition to being the school nerd, people found out he was taking ballet. Trevor was bullied throughout middle school, and he went through a lot of identity crisis and mild depression. He never told his parents about the things he struggled with at school, and they seemed too busy arguing to notice much anyways.

When Trevor was fourteen, his mom divorced his dad for a millionaire she had been having an affair with. She’s still in touch, however, and sends her kids expensive birthday presents and pays for a lot of their things as her way of “making it up to them.” Trevor’s dad always takes her willingness to buy their kids things as an insult, and sometimes the two parents seem to compete for their childrens’ favor.

Trevor’s dad is fairly well-off as far as finances go, and he once went on a business trip to Thailand. He came back with a woman, and Trevor and his sister weren’t allowed to tell anyone she was staying with them. Apparently, Trevor’s father helped her get to America illegally, with the promise that he would marry her and provide for her in turn for her help with the home and children. So basically Trevor’s father bought a housewife, but Trevor and his younger sister treat their new stepmother with kindness and respect although they’re still adjusting to her presence.

When Trevor applied for Brookfield Academy, he would have been immediately accepted based on his high grades and test scores; however, he was caught cheating on a major exam and had to have his test invalidated. Although the rest of his scores were a result of genuine work and determination, he was denied until his biological mother bribed his way in. Trevor vowed never to cheat again, and he continues to place his studies above anything else.
