Fantasy Half-Breed Institution

"Really? Are you sure about that? I am pretty sure you met someone but if you don't trust me still then what is there to do?" Zadock shrugged and looked down into his chips.

Stepping into the tent, there was a sense of peace and ease, aroma's filling the small space. "Hello?" She'd call out again, until her eyes adjusted to see a woman sitting so peacefully, meditating right in the center. Alexa jumped, not expecting anyone to be there. "Oh, I'm sorry. I can come back later." Just as she turned to go, the woman simply motioned to the space before her. "I've been waiting for you" she cooed, her voice warm and inviting. So this was it... she quietly obeyed, coming to sit before her with legs crossed, though looked about confused.

"You know you are different, which is why you're here." Eyes popped open to gaze into her own icy blues, and a nod was given in return with a soft "yes. Though, I am unsure of what that is. I'm just...different." Silently, the woman offered her hands, and watched until Alexa's palms were placed in hers. "Close your eyes and breath. Clear your mind. Focus on the you within, not the girl that you want others to see." Was that really necessary to imply that Alexa put on a false pretense? It may be true, but it didn't quite make her happy. In fact, it was something that was said to her a lot, and made her pretty furious.

"Just let it come to you..." A faint whisper as her body began to tremble. Wasn't she supposed to be relaxing? Instead, anger was beginning to take over, and it didn't seem the woman was noticing. Or was she? Her skin began to prickle, back began to ache with the feel of something tearing at her flesh. It was nearly agonizing, and frightening. Alexa broke the ritual, and in mid transformation, ran from the tent, only to be blinded by the sun.

It was like a horror movie. A blood curdling scream escaped her lips, partially from the pain, but also her skin had taken on a greenish bluish hint, with what looked like faint impressions of feathers. How could this be!? And...Wings? For the most part, she looked normal, until her gaze settled on her shoes and saw talons poking through. "What have you done to me!" she screamed back to the tent, the woman clearly trying to usher her back inside. Instead, Alexa ran off, stumbling and tripping over the claws she wasn't used to having.

"Wh-What would make you think I-I was wi-with someone?". He asked after finishing his food. "Sorry you don't have to tell me."

"the new dirt on your clothes from the fall and the faint smell of salt plus I know how flustered you get and you immediately clam up when I talk about good old jiminy. By the way does he have a name of his own or what?"

'Ok this jack*ss is annoyingly smart. Just shut the F up and leave already you piece of crap.'. "I-I don't have a voice in m-my head. Sorry, but I'm exhausted so I'm going now." He mumbled as he got up. "Sorry." He said to Zadock before heading to cabin one.

"IF you're exhausted I'll see you shortly!" Zadock called after him then not having much other choice he took a walk towards the docks and where they met the counselor to see if anyone was still there. @FieryAngel

Alexa hadn't made it too far from where she met the counselor, finally giving up on running. Instead, she settled on curling up in a little ball on a soft patch of grass, bawling like a baby. While her icy blue eyes stayed the same, and her long dark locks were perhaps shinier than ever, her flesh was no longer a normal color, the imprint of feathers beneath the surface barely visible. The wings were the most noticeable, not large, but still a good enough size that they'd be hard to hide without a coat. The back of her silky pink top was torn to pieces, and her shoes were now torn from the talons, and jeans were covered in dirt from the many times she fell. "I knew I was a freak, but did it have to be this bad? What am I!" The half harpy had no clue, and began to shake in fear. @Drumonkey

She suddenly felt a hand patting her back and through her sobbing she heard a distinct voice speaking in a soothing tone "there was once a king named King Phineus. He was known for his unfortunate luck with horrible harpies that would steal food from his table leaving him with scraps most were unedible..." Zadock droned on for a while soothing her and calming her. "Are you better now?" Zadock asked in a tentative voice.

She jerked when a hand began to touch her back, listening intently to the story that didn't entirely help the tears. "Are you saying I'm a thief?" That's pretty much all she got out of that. "I'm a monster that's known for stealing food? I am a bigger freak than I originally thought!" Her face was buried in the palms of her hands, afraid to reveal how she looked as this strange creature. (I'll be back. Need to head to school.)

"Oh so you are a harpy... Well no thats not what you are but there isn't much good lore about harpies, although I am sure you are different from your ancestors." Zadock added with a hopeful tilt to his voice hoping to sooth her not freak her out anymore.

Ivan walked out of the cabin and into the woods. He wasn't sure where he was going, but he was confident he could find the way back without much trouble. Soon enough a small clearing appeared. "This good?"
TIME SKIP SOON

@The Suspicious Eye
An-Li followed him into the woods (totally sang that) until they reached a clearing. " Yeah this will do nicely." She walked around inspecting the clearing, it was appropriate if they did any damge. She stopped and turned to him, her skirt swayed as she moved. "There wasn't much about my powers so let's start with yours. Since you have wings do you wanna try flying?" She inspected his wings, they seemed large enough to lift him. An-Li spent a lot of her life tending to animals in the foresr, she knew a lot about various animal anatomy. She wanted to be a veterinarian when she was older and has volunteered at zoos and animal shelters quite often. Eastren dragons are like lizards mixed with birds, right?

Alexa slowly began to sit up and wipe away the tears, gaze fixed upon her oddly colored skin that had various colors, though feint. A nod was given, clearly signaling that she understood, and gave a sniffle. "How bad do I look?" Naturally, she'd be worried about THAT! "I'm hideous aren't I." Arms reached back to stroke her wings, and even though the feathers were soft, it was frightening. @Drumonkey

Robert nodded, "Yeah. Every moment I have to be careful and hold back. I'm not showing it, but in reality I am quite drained by it. Still, I was taught to not stop when there's work to still do."
"I see that you're a tough person to deal with all of that," Haru said to Robert," so going onto other stuff, what can you do as a half Minotaur, other than be 'the incredible Bull Man'? I never was really able to learn about most other mythologies, so I no only a little about them. All I know about Minotaurs is that they are half man half bull."

"I can try" Ivan said, his voice lowering a bit. He never really took any interest in birds so any techniques on take off were beyond him. Chances were he would end up making a fool of himself, though at least it would only be in front of An-Li. "Um... do you have any advice?"

@The Suspicious Eye

"You aren't. Id compare you to any number of heroines from greek lore but I think that would be lost on you. Besides there are worst things you could be." Zadock smiled at her hoping to cheer her up and then stood and held his hand out for her to help her up. @FieryAngel

She offered a smile, only slight, at his compliment, not completely believing him. However, it was enough to satisfy her for the moment. Taking his hand, she rose from the ground, brushing the dirt from her jeans. "Thank you. You know...for being kind." It wasn't often she offered thanks. "So, where is cabin 3?" @Drumonkey

An-Li smiled at him, "I used to train new parrots to fly. Start small, try to jump from one place to another and then further and further. You'll instinctively use your wings to make the distance. Then you'll be flying in no time (actually how you train parrots). Trust your instincts, you already know how to fly. You're just tapping into that part of you that you have yet to use." She sent out a encouraging wave of calm towards him. "You can do it."

@Shog

"Come on I can lead you there. By the way my name is Zadock and I am a Sandman that is why I know so many stories and such because of my impeccable memory" Zadock smiled and then began to walk towards Cabin 3.

Bending down, she lifted a duffle bag, hooking the strap over her shoulder before securely grabbing the handle of her suitcase. It would seem they were a bit easier to carry, but not by much. "Alexa..." she'd chime, following after. "A sandman, well, that's interesting." @Drumonkey

Ivan nodded and found a nice starting place. He did as she instructed and jumped forward. He didn't really notice anything strange but persisted. He began to notice his wings moving, but he couldn't tell if that was instinct as An-Li had said or him trying too hard. He noticed small improvement, but once more didn't trust it as truth yet. It could very well be he was just deceiving himself into believing there was improvement.

Robert smiled, "I kind of like that idea... Just Bull though instead of that full title. As for what I can do, I am afraid all of my powers are physical. Just incredible strength and speed. As for how strong..." He trailed off walking to a tree, gently patting it then placed his palm to it, quickly snapping it forward then back, it only traveling a few inches. The tree snapped and fell, his palm breaking it in half as he walked back, "I'd say that's a good measure of it. I could have uprooted it, but this way it will grow back."

An-Li watched as his wings began to beat with more persistence. He was so close to flying she could feel it. "You're doing great! Try going further and reach with all your might. Try that tree branch up there!" She pointed to a branch a few meters away. "You can do it!" She sent another reassuring wave out from her body. Wild animals began to come out from their homes around the woods towards her.

@Shog

(Dang she is a cheerleader, lol.)

"And very tiring if you'll excuse my pun oh let me take that suitcase from you, it is the least I can do for you." Zadock smiled in a caring manner that he hoped would ease her further and harbor trust. @FieryAngel

When Dareon learned of his... difference, from other people, he was quite shocked. Initially he felt fairly isolated and went through a slight depressed state, but he came out it quick nevertheless. He wasn't prone to getting hung up on unfortunate situations for long. When he arrived at the island, all of his stuff was in a large duffle back he had on his back, carrying like a back pack. When he got off the boat, he walked across the dock without hesitation. It was cool due to the breeze and he was tracing its patterns with his eyes. He could taste the salt in the air as well. It was that point of the day between high tide and low tide as well since the waves were clashing together in smooth movements. The young man looked around himself for any direction as to where he was to go. A building, person standing nearby, a sign...
