"Sorry, but it's just not working out between us anymore." Alexander said to his latest girlfriend, or now ex-girlfriend. He had started dating her not too long ago, but he couldn't help growing bored with the relationship. Wasn't anything she did of course. He just lost interest a lot quicker than others. 'It's too early in the morning for this.' He thought as he parted ways with the girl. No doubt she would tell her friends about this, then word would spread to the other students in the school. It would all be nothing new though. It happens with everyone he had dated so far, it wasn't any different now. Reaching his locker, a grin appeared on his face at the sight of his friends already waiting for him. "Hey guys!" he greeted them as he opened the locker. He gather what he might need for class as he chatted with his friends. "Alex there's a party going on at my place this weekend, you in?" One of his friends, Drake, asked. Alexander chuckled a bit. "I'm always up for a party man. But I'll let you know for sure tomorrow." He told them. After chatting a bit longer, the group split ways as they all had different classes for first period. At least he should be able to see them all at lunch later. Shutting his locker, he headed to class. Rather be early than have to listen to the teacher go on about being late again.
Alexander pulled out his phone and started scrolling through it, seeing if his friend shared any more information about the party in their group chat. As he read through the messages, he wasn't properly watching his surroundings, causing him to slightly bump shoulders with another person. "Ah... my bad, sorry." He said as he looked up from his phone to see who he bumped into.

(How is this?)

Flint let out a sigh as he checked the notification pinging his phone, yet another plea for advice. Honestly, he should change his number at this rate. It wasn't too much trouble to respond and help, but it was annoying and Flint was growing tired of being used like this. Putting his phone back in his pocket, Flint decided to head towards his next class. It was on the other side of the school and he could stop at his locker on the way there.

Then his phone pinged yet again. So, with a grumble of, “the hell is it this time?” he reached for it but his arm bumped into someone as he did so.

The phone hit the ground with a clatter, and he winced. It sounded like it cracked at the very least. He glanced who’d he had bumped as he squatted down to pick up his phone. If Flint had said he hadn’t recognized the fellow sophomore, he’d be severely lying. This person had been the cause of many girls’ venting to him, he remembered having been Alex’s current girlfriend’s emotional support as she went to ask Alex out for the first time.

“It’s no problem, you’re Alex, right?” Flint responded as he stood. He was tempted to look at whatever notification had pinged his phone, but that’d be rude so he put his phone in his backpack instead of his pocket this time.

(its perfect, thanks!)

Hearing the phone clatter as it hit the floor, Alex frowned. He hoped that didn't break. Of course, if it did then he would be willing to do something to show he was sorry. One of the girls he had break up with before, had gotten so mad about it, resulted in her throwing his phone as some kind of payback. So he knew from experience that dealing with a breaking phone wasn't fun.
"Yeah, that's me." He said with a slight nod. He put his own phone away in his pocket, not wanting to appear rude as he spoke with the fellow sophomore. "You're Flint, right? We're in the same class together?" He asked curiously, clearing recognizing the other male. If he remembered right, this person was in his first period and sixth period class. He also could've sworn that he heard some people talk about him before. Though he didn't pay attention to what was actually said as he was with his friends.

Oh yeah, he’d forgotten, Alex was in some of his classes! Flint blinked a few times as he formed a reply.
”Yea, we’ve got history together, i think,” he answered, tilting his head slightly before adding, “Ms. Clarence teaches it?“

Admittedly, history was… not his best subject and while Flint liked to read, history wasn’t as intresting as dragons, human-animal hybrids, and mystical powers. So, his focus tended to drift towards the fiction books and his grades paid the price.

Flint heard his friend’s obnoxious ringtone going off, albeit very muffled, through his backpack. He frowned, why would Simon be calling now? But Flint ignored it, the hallway was crowded and he was right in the middle of a conversation with “the school player”. He wanted to meet who exactly was breaking all these girls who came to him for advices’ hearts.

(Apologies for taking over a day with no warning, i dont have large chunks of free time to write out my responses in)

"Yeah, that's right." Alex said with a grin. He chuckled a little before adding.
"Isn't her class so boring?"

He was decent at history, if he were to be honest. He found it a bit interesting to learn about the past events. Maybe it was due to the fact he liked adventure and mystery type books. Learning the past can help with future problems. So it was one of his favorite subjects in school.

"Hey, since we're heading the same way. Want to walk together?" He asked. A muffled sound of the ringtone started going off soon after the question left his mouth. Given it sounded close and the frown on Flint's face, he figured that it must be from his phone
"If you need to take that somewhere a bit quieter. I can just go ahead or wait, if you would like? I'm in no rush." He offered with a playful grin on his face at the end.

(It's alright, I understand. Sorry, if my reply was a little late.)

“im sure its nothing,“ flint sighed, waving his hand vaguely in dismissal, “He should know better than to call right before my next class” Speaking of which, it was 5-till and he still had to stop by his locker.

But the playful grin on Alex’s face reminded him of the time he saw one of his younger brother’s trying to flirt with a Junior. The junior, who he later found out the name of and became friends with, simply ruffled the kid’s hair and told him to stick to girls his age. At the time Flint had just entered high school, and the brother in question had just started middle school.

Grinning at how his little brother was like an Alex in training, he got his brain back on track.
“i should start heading that way” he said pointing a thumb down the hall. Flint spun around and started walking backwards, hoping he was lucky enough to not run into someone he couldnt see. “You coming with?”

(You’re fine, take as much time as you need!)

Alex couldn't disagree with that. He didn't really like answering calls before classes as well, mostly due to not knowing how long they were going to take. The only time he would answer a call was if it was from one of his sisters or one of his parents, as he knew they would only try to reach him if it was important. Otherwise, he would reply to text messages, while he was school.

Seeing the grin the other's face, he could tell that something was amusing to him. But he didn't try question on what it was. Instead, he chuckled little as Flint started walking backward as he questioned if he was coming.
"Yeah, I'm coming. You should turn back around, before there's another run-in." He said jokingly, as he started walking as well. Easily catching up to the other male.

(It's alright. If you want we skip time a little, or is there an idea you would like to add to help it flow better for you?)

(not really, im homeschooled so i just dont have a grip on how the public school system works and so it just donest flow for me since im worrying about whether or not im writing it right. apologies)

(I see. Then we can skip to after school? Maybe the two could just across path as they're leaving the building, and Alex could invite Flint to hang out?)
