Crask
Location: Guild Hall
Mentions: Gion ( Spoiled Bread Spoiled Bread )
(His attention is captivated right now. Sorry!)

With the embers of the breakfast fire smothered and his brand new tent packed, Crask was ready.

He started the trek from the shallow depths of the forest to the guild's doors.

He knew the guild provided lodging. The blonde lady said so, but almost as soon as she reminded him of the availability, he nodded, took his payment, and, after an hour of pacing and deliberation, survived the strange streets of the human city long enough to buy portable shelter. It was as much to fulfill the immediate need as it was out of foresight. Unfamiliar woods made more of a home than close four walls of stone. The solitude among the trees and the birds felt less lonely than existing around a bunch of unknown faces.

Especially when his tribe's killers lurked among them.

He still didn't know what he would do when their paths crossed again. Fantasies of their death stoked the flame burning in his heart, but their last encounter nearly ended in his own death. He wasn't ready yet. Beyond that, he didn't ponder the point. He would learn about his reaction when it would happen.

When Crask threw open the doors to the guild hall, anticipation accompanied him.

No, not just for the hated faces. The ones he quested with.

From around his tusks, a frown tugged at his lips when he saw they weren't there. It was short lived. His pause at the threshold transitioned from a search to the observation of a curiosity.

If the doors weren't prone to shutting on their own, the hall would be graced with a breeze as Crask neglected common courtesy and strode up to his new pursuit.

"You have no skin." Although made easier after spending time in foreign land, the common language still felt a bit weird on his tongue. His mother insisted he learned, but his people had rarely used it. "How are you...living?" Had the encounter been in a different setting, he might have been wary of approaching so close, but he sensed little threat.

He poked the skeleton man's cheek. If the man turned his head toward Crask, he might find a dirt-stained finger going for his nose hole.

They'd had several new members of late, Azalea mused to herself as she continued through the paperwork for their registration. The backlog of forms had decreased steadily over the past few weeks, to the point the surface of the counter was almost visible. With Kathlyn greeting the new arrivals and chasing down mission reports, Azalea was far more at ease focusing on the bureaucratic side of things, of which there was a great deal.

One of the aforementioned arrivals had just returned as well. Azalea was momentarily struck with the concern she may have to leave her spot to go request their summary of the mission, but Kathlyn returned from the gardens soon after and relieved her of the duty. Nicolas hadn't made much of an impression with his arrival at the guild, though he had displayed an unusual degree of skill in his work. Most of those that joined the guild were rookies to the lifestyle. Adventurers with competency--and well-made armour--were rare to find on their own, outside the influence of an established organisation. It usually meant a criminal history of some kind, but this one did seem curiously void of the outward ambition most other adventurers displayed. He was a tad too well-armed to be a mere drifter though, if her experience told her anything.

Nonetheless, with the matter handled she returned her attention to her forms. Nicolas sat and had begun the laborious process of thinking before Kathlyn finally reached him, and in amidst the conversation that followed the doors to the hall swung open once more.

This next one was on the other end of strange. It was in the nature of a guild to attract all sorts, but the figure in doorway far surpassed that standard. Undead were not a welcome presence anywhere in the kingdom. Especially not after the tragedy of Solmar, but even before then they had never been associated with good things. Gion wasn't the only undead Waystone had ever employed, but he was perhaps the first to flaunt the nature of what he was so openly.

Or perhaps flaunt wasn't the right word. Azalea watched the well-dressed skull stroll across to the quest board, hm-ing and hah-ing over the selection. She feared, for one, fatal moment, that when he swiped the lot off the board he intended to take all of them on at once. Instead he laid down a selection of the copper requests, speaking with a far lighter tone than she'd expect from his appearance.

"Good morning, dear. I need help choosing my first proper quest. I really, REALLY want to help EVERYONE here but alas, there is only one me and I can only help one at a time. This feeling, this must be what people call 'moral dilemma', right?"

She glanced over the forms in question, wondering if they were really of such grave urgency to be considered a 'moral' conundrum. The skeleton was spared an answer by the appearance of Wizard, who had appeared at the desk quite without her noticing.

"Noble Skeleton. If a singular quest is what you seek. Than might I suggest that you join me in the hunt for the eggs of the insidious King Turkey. Such a threat to the realm would be the perfect foe for a first adventure"

Once again, she wondered whether it would be practicable to inform the wizard that the king turkey was the name the species, rather than a bestowed title, before realising that may prompt the impressionable mage to commence an extermination quest over an egg hunt.

"They are a particular menace in the Autumn season," she said instead, reaching under the table to search for a particular book. The adventurer's guide to local ecology mentioned them. She opened it to a certain page to show the other two. "Due to their ability to set things on fire."

Appearance: These omnivorous beasts are two to three times the size of a regular turkey. Named after the yellow fire sac that sits atop their heads, they are known to use their ability to expel flames to burn the undergrowth in search of food. They will not usually attack creatures larger than themselves unprompted, but most commonly do so in defense of themselves or their nests. Caution is advised whenever engaging with one in close quarters, as due to their size their kick can be particularly damaging.

"I'm sure the kitchen would be interested in buying any remains if you do happen to encounter one," she added. Due to their size they apparently made excellent centerpieces for a roast,. She set the book aside and listened to whatever the response would be. If Gion did seem satisfied with the quest for turkey eggs then she would gladly set it aside for them.

No sooner had the wizard turned and wandered over to join Kathlyn's conversation then an obnoxious battle cry sounded from the kitchens. A grey blur shot from the entryway to food haven and up onto the tables, leaping across onto the front counter and charging straight through one of Azalea's neatly stacked paper piles on their way towards the quest board.

The vines curled around her head and arms grew ever so thornier as her expression twisted. She pressed her hands against each other, elbows resting on the counter as she considered how much of an issue it would be to organise a pest inspection.

"You have no skin." A gravelly voice drew her attention from darker thoughts, and she glanced up to see the formidable silhouette towering above the counter. Crask... she believed it was, based on Kathlyn's description, seemed strangely fixated on the undead skeleton before him. Not out of malice, or any apparent dislike, which must be something of a novelty to the undead entity. "How are you...living?"

"Crask, was it?" Azalea said, after Gion had given his response. "Kathlyn mentioned you had recently joined. Are you here to see about finding work?"

Milby

Today was the day. The day of reckoning, The day of triumph. It was THE day, Milby had decided, and she could feel it in her bones. Today she would take on the mighty behemoth and prove to all that her mightiness had no bounds!

Of course like every good day it started out with a raid. She stowed her precious rations in her holding bag and announced her defiance as the Keeper of Foods attempted to bar her path. But she could not be stopped on this day. She had a destiny to fulfil.

The pots and pans were cacophonous as she raced towards the door, leaving behind whatever protests the knife-wielders had to her pillaging. She could spy the quest board across the hall from her, countless obstacles in her path, but none mightier than her. She jumped onto a table and bridged the chasm between it and the next, charging through drinks and flimsy paper defenses alike. She crossed one final table before launching herself at the quest board, zeroing in on the yellowed page she'd tried and failed to complete so many times before.

But not today!

She landed feet first against the board, sinking her blade into the wood long enough that she could claim her objective. Leaping off the board she landed back on one of the nearby tables, pausing momentarily to check that the drawing on the request was the correct one she remembered. It was at that point she paused, looking up at a mixture of human faces. There was sunshine girl and the sagely wizard, stooped over so low from age that he could almost be mistaken for a child's height. The third face Milby did not recognise, but his towering countenance and foreboding aura could only mean one thing.

"Ohoh!" She perked up at once upon realising, tiny sword drawn from her scabbard with a flourish. "Are you here to slay the great beast that I, the mighty Milby, have laid claim to? Your bravery is to be commended! I have sworn to fell this beast on this day, but I would gladly allow for a stalwart comrade along on this perilous journey!"

“Didn’t know who to speak to after a quest, forgot,” Kathlyn blinked a few times before laughing. "Sorry, sorry," She said with a wave of her hand. "I didn't mean to laugh at you. I just didn't think I had such a forgettable face." She teased with a smile. “Quest is complete. Only a few buildings were burned,” She nodded a few times, riffling through a stack of papers she had picked up from the front desk, before quickly doing a double-take. "Come again? Buildings were burned? Are you the one responsible for them burning?" She asked, still somewhat hopeful. He didn't answer but she could guess the answer based on his expression. "Oh heavens, that's going to be a lot of extra paperwork." She said with a small sigh and a shake of her head. "Well, don't worry about that though, it is my job after all." She added with a smile.

“My own room?” She nodded. "Well, it isn't yours forever but you don't have to share it with anyone while you're using it." Besides, Kathlyn was pretty sure some of the older members like Leonidas had basically occupied one of the rooms permanently, even now some of the eccentric bard's instruments remained in one of the rooms, she'd thought about moving them to one of the storage rooms but ultimately decided against it, she would move them if they needed more open rooms.

“Water is fine,” She nodded again, that hadn't really been what she meant but she could at least get the man some water. "Of course." She caught the eyes of one of her friends among the employees behind the bar and made her request for water clear through a quick game of impromptu charades. She turned back to Nicolas with a grin, not entirely sure if her colleague had understood the request or if she'd end up with a three-course meal.

She noticed him staring at her hands, enveloped in healing magic. "Interested? It's been a little while since someone's been surprised by my magic, I suppose healing magic is pretty rare but we get so many interesting forms of magic here at the guild it somewhat pales in comparison." She said, fiddling with a strand of hair.

"I would take her offer, warrior. This healer is of keen eye and focused hand. Her skills grow with every patient and her dedication is inspiring. In addition, adventuring with even the most minor of wounds can lead to tragedy. The utter pandemonium of the world we live in can turn a single off-hand decision into a cause for disaster.... Fare thee well" Kathlyn frowned slightly. "Hold it just a moment." She told the wizard. "Are you already trying to go on another quest? I only just discharged you. May I remind you you walked in from your last quest more dead than alive?" She lectured the wizard before sighing lightly. "Just be careful this time around, alright? Next time I will keep you in bed twice as long."

“Go ahead,” She smiled. "Of course, it won't take more than a few minutes." For a little while she worked in silence, it had been quite a while since she had seen someone come in with injuries so light that she could perfectly get by with just her magic. Oftentimes she would supplement her treatment with magic with some of her own medicine, curing wounds that were too big with just magic would work but it would often lead to more scars than a combination of magic and medicine would.

She was just finishing up when a familiar little ball of energy zipped into the hall, causing as big a ruckus as ever. Milby landed on the table in front of her, triumphantly raising her tiny weapon. "Are you here to slay the great beast that I, the mighty Milby, have laid claim to? Your bravery is to be commended! I have sworn to fell this beast on this day, but I would gladly allow for a stalwart comrade along on this perilous journey!" Kathlyn smiled at Nicolas, quickly hovering her hand over the last of his scrapes, "All done." Before turning to Milby with a stern look on her face.

"Milby, what did I say about causing a ruckus in the hall? It causes a lot of trouble for miss Azalea and she already works hard enough as is." She said sternly, barely resisting the urge to wrap the small creature in her arms and bury her face in Milby's soft fur. "I'm happy to see you are excited as always though." She added with a smile.

As Kathlyn began tending to his wounds, Nicolas pulled his gaze away from her magic and closed his eyes once a warm, soothing feeling washed over his skin. In silence, he drifted through his mind and let out a slow breath as the stinging pain faded. He couldn’t remember the last time healing magic was used on him. A sense of clarity and relaxation was evident on his face as Kathlyn worked her magic on him. He briefly recalled an odd memory for a moment but found it too blurry to remember clearly. Then, a sudden sharp pain pierced his skull, and a flash of discomfort came to his face before disappearing to his usual stoic expression. A slight sigh escaped him from the familiar feeling, the pain in his head a regular occurrence when he lets his mind drift too far into his memories. He had no idea what it was but has long since stopped trying to make sense of it, not wanting to make the headaches worse.

Slowly his eyes opened as a commotion began to reach his ears, and he glanced over to the counter with the green woman behind it, arching a brow as a flurry of papers flew into the air with a slight blur zipping by. Upon instinct, Nicolas took hold of the leather-wrapped grip of his sword and readied for the worse. But, of course, the worse would never come as this slight blur landed on the table near them and made him pause in confusion. “Mouse?” he questioned aloud as the small furry creature looked up to him with a tiny weapon drawn. Is that a cape?

"Ohoh! Are you here to slay the great beast that I, the mighty Milby, have laid claim to? Your bravery is to be commended! I have sworn to fell this beast on this day, but I would gladly allow for a stalwart comrade along on this perilous journey!"

“Talking mouse,” Nicolas only grew more confused by the sight and tilted his head sideways as he stared at the creature, finding himself oddly curious about the mouse and his small sword. He had seen plenty of strange and horrid creatures on the road during his years traveling, but this one… why did his chest flutter at the sight of it.

"All done."

Nicolas was brought out of his rambling thoughts as Kathlyn finished her treatment of his wounds. With a curious flex of his arms, he couldn’t help but be impressed by her work. It would usually take a week or two until his wounds fully healed, but just like that, they were gone. He looked to Kathlyn and gave a grateful nod. “Thank you,” he thanked her softly before rotating his shoulders and letting out a small sigh of relief as he turned his attention back to the small armed rodent before him, leaning down slightly to meet their gaze. Milby was her name, it seemed. As for this beast she had spoken about, Nicolas was utterly lost in what she was talking about.

“I know of no beast,” he stated plainly before giving a firm nod. “But if it is a quest, I will aid,” he said with a determined glint in his eyes, not remembering to ask for details. At the moment it didn’t matter what this beast was. If it was a quest that needed completing, he would do so without a second shot. Plus, he was oddly interested in this small rodent and wanted to see where it would lead him. Perhaps she would lead him to treasure, a tale Yuri had once told him of a tiny being leading others to gold if they were followed. A sudden rumbling in his stomach made him pause and remembered he had yet to eat anything. "First, food," he said before rising to his feet and placing his armor onto the table with his sword atop it, the metal making a loud thud against the wooden surface. With a quick nod to the both of them, he made his way to the bar and sat down with a huff.

"Food," he ordered as he made himself comfortable. The server gave him a curious look, waiting for a clarification on what exactly he wanted. "Doesn't matter, anything edible," he stated with a shrug, which was also answered with a shrug from the server before they went to fetch his meal. Shortly after they brought him his water and he gave a grateful nod before taking a sip. Waiting patiently for his food to arrive Nicolas let his mind wander once again, thinking of nothing and simply enjoying his surroundings with not a threat to be seen. It was an odd feeling, but a pleasant one all the same.

Valeen supposed it was about time to try taking on another quest. But as she left her lodgings to enter the main hall of the Guildhouse, part of her wondered if she really should.

Yes, she knew that she actually should! That wasn't actually a question up for debate! Valeen had only done one job so far—her initial quest. Valeen expected all of it to be a trivial task, much like working the farm was. The orcish woman and her band of adventurers were asked to exterminate a band of highway robbers. Easy enough, she had thought. How was she supposed to know that they would all scamper away in different directions after she bludgeoned their leader with her mace...?! Weren't men supposed to stay their ground and fight?!

Her blunder was an embarrassment, no matter how well the rest of her team cleaned up the mess afterwards. She had turned a simple quest turned into a tiring goose chase. Valeen debated on giving up adventuring when she finally returned to her lodgings, nearly deciding that she wasn't fit for it much like everything else...but Valeen had nowhere else to go. Both career-wise and literally considering her near-empty coin pouch. And so, after a day of mulling on it and heavily drinking—she decided to finally face the quest board once more, Oxheart in hand! Or more realistically, on her back.

Still. The group hall was livelier than she had expected...her brow furrowing at the ruckus going on. Valeen tried to walk straight past the current group idling inside, determined to not make eye-contact with any of them. Instead Valeen made her way straight to the front desk, hastening to her stride in an attempt to avoid the gaze of the blonde-haired girl especially.

It wasn't as if she disliked her. She just didn't...mix well with others, so that type of personality—the bubbly and friendly sort who tried to make always conversation—was hard for her to deal with. Valeen couldn't bring herself to just shove her aside like she usually did to those in her way. But making conversation could be such a hassle...

"Azalea." Thankfully, her attention seemed to be caught by some others...with two eccentrics lingering nearby. The flashily-dressed undead was a curiosity, surely—but her expression soured at the sight of the half-orc next to him. And perhaps a little too visibly, too. "Ahem..." Valeen quickly snapped returned to the woman behind the desk, closing her eyes for a moment before looking back down. "...I've come for more work. This time—this time, I will not be failing you or the Guild." Unlike their last meeting, a more palpable determination came from both her tone and gaze as she spoke... "That said, I would prefer to depart soon. Are there...any parties looking for members? Any that...will have me, that is?" ...But that determination soon faltered, Valeen averting her eyes as she began to waver near the end of her sentence.

...Valeen was completely aware that she could ask around herself instead of asking her.
But that practically meant socializing and talking to everybody in this damn Guild Hall! And like hell she could go and do something absurd like talking to so many random people...!

Gion Stickman

"King Turkey? I never see, taste nor hear one before." Gion let out a brief chuckle as he inspect the notice about the turkey quest further. Someone needs help collecting eggs, sounds simple enough. The fellow who pointed the quest also seemed to be a very smart one. Just look at how he dress and talk!

"Sure, buddy. Against your brain and my bones those turkeys wouldn't stand a chance!" Gion confidently accepted the offer, he signaled to Azalea to sign him into the mission before he felts his skull got poked by someone. The skeleton turned his skull only to find someone's finger in his nose hole. This one was a half-orc that seemed to be really curious about him.

"You think I'm alive?? Thank you!! You can borrow my bones later if you want to." Instead of answering Crask's question, Gion just seemed to be really pleased at it, as if being called alive was some sort of compliment. Then another person approached Azalea, this one was another half-orc more or less! What a coincidence! She said something about looking for another work and wouldn't failing the guild. Gion didn't miss the chance and immediately raised his bony hands to try drawing the half orc woman's attention.

"Me me me me me! We're going to do some business with turkey king, want to join us?" Gion eagerly offered her. If there's one thing the skeleton likes more than helping people, it would be helping people with the help of another people. The more the merrier! Also, look at those body. Even a million Gions wouldn't be able to outmuscle her!

The Wizard hadn't desired to worry or upset Kathlyn. However his calling was to adventure. Even if he was only just discharged from receiving medical attention. That would never change about him. Gesturing with his cape once more. The Wizard looked Kathlyn in the eyes with a simple nod before speaking to her. "Worry not, Kathlyn Silva. The Wizard will return. Regardless of time, distance or danger. He will always walk through the Guild Hall doors to announce his newest victory. This, can be promised" said the caster with a smoldering gaze. Kathlyn had been his dedicated nurse for days now. So alleviating her worries was necessary so she would allow him to embark on his latest journey. Noticing the flowers that he had gotten for her in a nearby vase. The Wizard was reassured that he was ready to deal with the might of King Turkey. According to the provided information. King Turkey was a firebreathing bird that was larger than all other turkeys. Such a dangerous foe was an Autumntime pest that would be dealt with by The Wizard in due time.

His new skeletal guildmate seemed keen to join him on the hunt for King Turkey. An ally for such a quest was a boon indeed. Though he was surprised to see an Orcish fellow place his finger in the nose-holes of Gion. Such a thing seemed rude to The Wizard. Although Gion seemed to enjoy it. So perhaps it was a form of friendly interaction in Skeleton Society. An action like these had never come up in his studies of Orcs or Undead so his resources may have been a bit dated. Then he noticed a large Half-Orc woman asking if any parties would be willing to take her in. Watching as Gion immediately pounced on her to recruit her for the quest. The Wizard applauded his skills. While a capable master of the mystic arts. The Wizard had to admit his people skills were a tad lacking.

Wandering over and picking up the excited chinchilla in his hands. The Wizard was happy to see that Milby was the same as ever. "While I am currently taking on my own quest. If you come across great danger in yours. Do not hesitate to call for The Wizard. A stout swordswoman and admirable ally such as you has earned the friendship of The Wizard. Though The Wizard has no doubt that not even a horde of Behemoth would be a match for the might of Milby" remarked The Wizard with a small smile before placing Milby back down on a table. His adventure against plants with Milby had proven her a friend and equal in his eyes. So naturally he would come to her aid should she require it.

Emptiness. Crask's finger invaded the skull, and he felt nothing. It was eerie. It wasn't as if he hadn't touched a skull before, but not one that was...sentient? Animated? He knew the words in his native tongue, but not in Common.

The bone man seemed pleased by his question...so pleased Crask could borrow his bones?

Crask's inquisitive stare transitioned from the bone man to the spellcaster beside him. He prepared a question to try to confirm the possible connection, but then another voice spoke. He turned his head to the plant lady. A clerk like the blonde. She asked him about his name, and work.

"Yes." The response answered both questions, as curt as it may have sounded with Crask's stoicism. He took notice of the book on the table, and the illustration it presented. Suddenly he remembered the skeleton man mentioning turkeys a moment ago, before Crask started his poking. His mind leapt to the proposition the plant lady must be about to make, and that deserved an open reaction if nothing did. He shook his head, taken aback, but before he could add words, another person appeared.

Crask had to look up, and when he first peered upon the green face, he paused. This was the first orc he had seen since his tribe--no, not orc, not full-blooded. She was like him, and that was a first.

She soured when she took notice of him.

It stung a bit like a thorn scratch, but then he decided he liked her reaction better than the alternative. It made it easier to absorb her presence and quell the mess of emotions it stirred. He listened to her speak. She failed the guild?

Her Common was better.

Crask straightened, almost decisively. She might have spoken better, and she might have stood taller, but his tusks were bigger.

The spellcaster--the wizard, he called himself (alas, the proper noun flew over Crask's head)--had wandered over to the blonde lady, a swordsman, and...a rodent. Yes, now Crask remembered the creature blurring past. He stared at it as he approached, but this time, the wizard's words attracted him instead of the curiosities of their world.

Just as he approached the group, the swordsman strode for the bar, mentioning something about food. He looked to the wizard. "You say something about a behemoth?" He approached the term for the beast with a slight carefulness. It was the only clue to his ignorance of the word, because he already gathered it had to be more challenging than a turkey, and that was the only aspect that mattered to him.

He glanced over his shoulder and at the other half-orc. It lasted just a moment before his attention shifted back to...well, the rodent.

"I'm coming." It sounded like his mind had been made up, but the pair could dissuade him if they wanted it.

"Talking mouse." Milby puffed her chest out at their dumbfounded look, taking it as a sign of recognition of her mighty excellence. Humans called her many things, but they could be forgiven for not knowing the secrets of her prestigious heritage. "I know of no beast, but if it is a quest, I will aid.”

"Excellence!" the chinchilla declared, sheathing her sword.

"Milby," the chinchilla paused at her name, turning to blink up at the friendly face of the golden-haired girl. They had extra lines on their forehead, which seemed unusual. "What did I say about causing a ruckus in the hall? Milby paused to wrack her brain. That was a most difficult question. Non-epic encounters were delegated to the forgettable part of her memories, freeing up room for only the most important parts of her epic journey. "It causes a lot of trouble for miss Azalea and she already works hard enough as is."

Ah-hah, so that's what it was. "Bramble bush?" Milby said, peering around the side towards the the front desk. People were always saying how she worked too hard and needed a helping hand. Milby didn't quite understand what delivering extra body parts to the clerk would do, but she was well-versed in the act of taking down tyrannical opponents. "I helped her tackle the nefarious Paperwork!"

"I'm happy to see you are excited as always though." Kathlyn had lost most of her angry lines, which Milby took as a sign of success. As they turned to speak to the Wizard, Milby continued in her observation the front desk with renewed interest, seeing a number of new faces gathered around it. The gaggle of different-coloured giants all but blocked the area from view, two with skin that was green, though not leafy like the front clerk. The other was wrapped up in too many extra layers to see properly, though from behind it appeared they had no hair. As Milby watched, the stouter giant moved away and began to approach the group. Before she could think to draw her sword in challenge though, she was lifted into the air with a surprised squawk, facing the shadowed face of a recent comrade.

"While I am currently taking on my own quest. If you come across great danger in yours. Do not hesitate to call for The Wizard." Milby perked up at the mention of danger, raising her arm in something vaguely reminiscent of a salute. "A stout swordswoman and admirable ally such as you has earned the friendship of The Wizard. Though The Wizard has no doubt that not even a horde of Behemoth would be a match for the might of Milby."

"Likewise!" the small creature declared, determination sparkling in her eyes. "Should your fiendish foe call upon reinforcements, we would come to your aid at once!"

"You say something about a behemoth?" Milby ears twitched, turning to see one of the newcomers had approached the table.

"A most foul and dastardly creature," she confirmed, tail swishing as the mighty fellow paused, looking over his shoulder.

"I'm coming."

A new comrade! Without so much as a challenge either. Milby leapt off the wizard's hands, landing on the table address the tusked warrior. "Very well!" She turned to Kathlyn next, beady eyes aflame. "We shall take on the challenge of the Behemoth. Let us begin preparations at once!" Not that Milby particularly needed them. She had conducted her raid on the kitchens early with this very purpose in mind, and her trustworthy sword was always at her side. But it wouldn't do for her to lose her new companions early on. Some of them had only just arrived, after all, and food was an important part of any successful mission.

As Gion and Crask had their strange interaction, Azalea set aside the request for the copper mission, observing as yet another of the new members arrived at the guild. A half-orc like Crask, though it didn't appear they shared any sense of kinship as a result. If anything, the interaction between them seemed strained.

"Yes." Crask responded simply to Azalea's question, his attention drawn towards one of the other groups once he had finished observing the undead Gion.

Valeen, meanwhile, appeared distracted, or perhaps uncertain. Orcs weren't usually inclined to show an open range of emotions, but Valeen seemed easier to read than most. "Azalea. Ahem... I've come for more work. This time—this time, I will not be failing you or the Guild."

There was more strength behind the words than before. Azalea wondered if Valeen had expected to be turned away from the guild when she first arrived. The kingdom was not always kind to those that were different.

"It was a successful mission in the end," she said, not exactly one for reassurances. It was to be expected that new adventurers made mistakes--even the more experienced adventurers were not without fault.

"That said, I would prefer to depart soon. Are there...any parties looking for members? Any that...will have me, that is?"

"Me me me me me! We're going to do some business with turkey king, want to join us?"

Azalea blinked at the skeleton's rather... enthused appeal, glancing over to see what Valeen's response would be. Thus far Gion seemed to be fitting in well, but it was always a gamble as to what a person's thoughts were on the living undead. "If it suits you, Gion will be accompanying Wizard on a quest to find the king turkey eggs. Otherwise I believe Milby... over there-" Azalea's expression soured somewhat as she glanced at the table housing the chinchilla. The paperwork from the morning was still strewn about the floor, even if Azalea had managed to gather most of what had fallen behind the counter. "-is trying to find a group to take on the Behemoth. I'm sure you would be suited to either party."

The chatter around the hall was all Nicolas could hear as he sat quietly at the bar, his eyes closed as he patiently waited for his food. It wasn't as calming as the silence he usually preferred, but it only made his surroundings feel more assured that no danger would come to him here. It reminded him of the nights when Yuri would entertain the inns and taverns they would visit on their travels. It had taken time for Nicolas to get used to the atmosphere but now he had to come to miss it. Even without any music or grand stories being told Nicolas felt a brief smile slip onto his face before opening his eyes and looking up to see his food finally arrived. Meat and freshly baked bread? A hungry growl rumbling in his stomach was more than enough proof of his satisfaction with the meal and gave the worker a quick nod of appreciation. "Thank you," he muttered before placing a handful of coins on the counter, perhaps a few too many, and picked up the dish before turning on a heel and making his way back to the small creature known as Milby. As he returned, he noticed a new face had joined.

Nicolas paused as he stared at the half-orc, popping a torn strip of meat in his mouth and munching away in silence. It had been some time since he had encountered a half-orc. He had mostly crossed paths with full-blown orcs and most of those encounters were never peaceful. They were strong beings though and Nicolas had come to respect their kind for their skills in battle. After taking a moment to inspect the half-orc he gave a slight nod his way, swallowing his food. "Welcome," he muttered as Crask declared himself joining in the hunt for this behemoth. With the third member of their party joining, he took a bite of his bread and looked at the small, armed mouse.

"We shall take on the challenge of the Behemoth. Let us begin preparations at once!"

As Milby finished speaking with eagerness Nicolas swallowed his food and tilted his head to the side. "Where is this Behemoth you keep speaking of?" he asked as he remembered to ask questions for this new quest.

c4d99d9143a2b9b9d2c17e32ee3dc627 (1).jpgSett stood before the doors of the Guild, contemplating his decisions as of late. A string of bad decisions and rotten lack had left him without coin and cost him a few weeks nursing a few broken ribs. His wounds were healed, but he was still pennyless and in dire need of work. However, joining a Guild was a bit… Besides, they may not even be willing to give him work. It would be probably better to just leave and-

*growl*

His stomach protested loudly and he sighed. He thought of his mostly empty coin purse and pushed open the doors, stepping in.

Sett wasn't quite sure what he was expecting, but it certainly wasn't the eclectic group that was causing a ruckus in the Guild's hall. He glanced at them, absorbed as they were in their conversation, and saw a mishmash of colorful adventurers animatedly talking. He could see a huge, intimidating half orc, and another, shorter one poking the skull of an animated skeleton of all things.

Seth tried to approach the desks at the far side of the room without garnering too much attention. This was easier said than done, given how many people were there, but he figured it wouldn't do to intrude too much before even knowing if they'd be willing to accepting.

Edging around them, he stood next to the desks and waited until one of the clerks were available. While he waited, he couldn't help but stare at the curious plant-like skin of one of them, before doing a double take at the half elf, who was apparently talking to a… mouse? A squirrel? He admittedly didn't know much about rodents… But he knew that they usually didn't respond when talked to. Or wield tiny rapiers! Amazing.

Scratching his head, Seth waited until he felt he was good to address the women.

“Excuse me, ma'am, the name's Seth.” he politely ventured once one of them was free, “I arrived in the city recently, and was wondering what a fellow might do in order to join your illustrious Guild right here.”

He ventured a smile.

“Or at least to procure some honest work around these parts.”

How long had it been? 8 months? Maybe 9? Perhaps an entire year for all he knew. It had been a very long time since he had been back to the guild hall. The tall elven man walked down the cobblestone fairway that lead to the guild. He caught the eyes of many. Some gawking at the height and odd way he was dressed. Some were drawn in to the look he had. The way he aired on the mysterious side, but most were focused on the three pixies that had made themselves at home around him. Two happily fluttering about around him, the third sitting peacefully on his hat. Pixies, being the rare sight that they were, drew in attention. Though he was unfazed by the glances and random chatter about him. Of course a few recognized him. Well, less recognition and more knowing about him. The infamous Enigma, the most mysterious member of the Waystone Guild. So shrouded in secrecy that few of his guild mates had every really seen him and only a select few spent more that a few moments with him. Famous for his almost brutal attrition tactics. Now, after another long mission, he was returning to the only home he had left.

Elias moved with swift certainty towards the guild, opening the door and walking in without any hesitation. It had been some time and he could immediately tell he caught some attention. Newer guild mates may not have seen him, others may have glanced at him a few times. However, upon seeing him and recognizing the mystique and the pixies, his name would be known. Well, the nickname that the guild gave him. He didn't mind being called Enigma, but he wondered how many might know his real name.

His eyes wondered the hall, his face hidden in his large hat and clothing. He caught the odd stare and noticed a few conversations that he assumed involved him in some fashion. It didn't bother him in the slightest. He would be around until he found another job anyways.

The pixies looked at him curiously, hovering around him. They wanted him to go. They hated having so many people around him. As far as they were concerned, he was theirs and theirs alone. They each took a hold of his clothing, trying to pull him out of the hall.

Elias sighed as he turned to look at the three "You three are impossible. I promise you will get your alone time, but I must turn in the quest and start looking for another." The pixies huff, folding their arms in annoyance as he moved again.

Stopping at the request desk, his soft and cold eyes landing on the only person he really had any prolonged contact with. Azalea, the one that passes out his quests. She knew him well enough at this point to know exactly what kind of jobs best suited his particular style. Seeming to ignore the Skeleton and Half-Orc nearby. He placed a paper on her desk, the pixies scowling at her as they sat on his shoulders "The job is finished. The rebel force is taken out."

Taking on a rebel force was something a group took on, but his strategy made him a force. Most focus on personal strength, but he chose to focus solely on his skill and his strategy. Even the mightiest of foes could be felled by a solid strategy. His was effective to a very point "I will be around till a job opens up. Is that shop still open by any chance? The one that sells that exotic tea the pixies like so much."

"Worry not, Kathlyn Silva. The Wizard will return. Regardless of time, distance or danger. He will always walk through the Guild Hall doors to announce his newest victory. This, can be promised" She sighed with a small smile. "Then, I'd appreciate it if you could walk through those doors without life-threatening injuries this time." She smiled, she knew she was never going to be able to stop any of the guild members from going on an adventure, after all, they had all joined the guild exactly because they wanted to go on quests. Well, she didn't particularly have a desire to stop anyone from doing what they liked either, she just hoped the wizard would pay a little more attention to his own well-being this time around.

"Bramble bush?" Kathlyn nodded. "Miss Azalea, yes." "I helped her tackle the nefarious Paperwork!" Kathlyn glanced at the paperwork strewn all over the floor with a raised eyebrow. "I can see that." She said, inwardly groaning at the amount of time it would take her to get everything back in order. "I... just thought of something I have to take care of. Come see me once you and your group are ready to go on your grand quest." She told Milby with a wink before walking off and crouching down next to the mess of paperwork on the floor, gathering all the papers into an unorganized stack for now.

“Excuse me, ma'am, the name's Seth.” She looked up from the paperwork, brushing some dust off her knees as she stood up, massive stack of papers now in hand. "Oh, I'm sorry, I must have failed to notice you in between all the ruckus Milby was causing." She said with a polite smile. "Please, just call me Kathlyn, ma'am is a little too polite for little old me. What can I help you with?" She asked, placing the stack of still unorganized paperwork on a nearby table, praying that Milby wouldn't knock it over again.

“I arrived in the city recently, and was wondering what a fellow might do in order to join your illustrious Guild right here.” She smiled. "Of course, just follow me." She said, gesturing for him to follow her to the front desk. Waving at the skeleton and half-orc on her way there as well as taking a quick glance at the new figure that had approached Azalea. They seemed like a seasoned member of the guild but not one that she had met, perhaps he had just returned from a long quest. Well, that fact nor the individual's rather mysterious appearance bothered her in the slightest, she would go over to introduce herself if she had time once things calmed down.

She turned back to Seth who had followed to the front desk. "I just need you to fill out a bit of paperwork." She explained, reaching for the top paper on a nearby stack and handing Seth the... inventory management form? She glanced at Milby from across the hall, if it wasn't for the fact that the rodent looked cute and incredibly squeezable Kathlyn might have actually found herself a little annoyed for the first time in a while.

Instead, she just chuckled. "Sorry, not that one. Well, unless you'd like to compete with me for my job?" She asked with a smile, placing the form next to the pile to sort out later and grabbing a sign-up form instead. "If you wouldn't mind filling that out? I'll go grab some of the items you'll need."

Milby waved as Kathlyn set off on her way, returning her attention to hew new comrades just as the second one rejoined them from the bar. She was ready for ACTION, raising her sword in greeting before pausing at their next question.

"Where is this Behemoth you keep speaking of?"

"Ah- he hem-!" Milby said, clearing her throat as she picked up the paper request form and flicked it in front of her like a too-large newspaper. "Well, clearly, this dastardly beast is terrorising the countryside of, erm... of Westridge!" She nodded sagely to herself. "Of course none have lived to tell the tale of their gruesome demise, so who knows what falsehoods this information contains... Nonetheless! We shall work together to decipher these strange runes to the best of our... uhhh, our..."

Seeing the guild doors swing open Milby temporarily forgot her train of thought, leaning around the imposing form of the great Tusked one to catch whoever was at the door. At once she gave out an audible gasp, inhaling to the bottom of her lungs as she dropped the paper in her hands.

"I'll be right back." she squeaked, dashing over the side of the table.

"PIXIIEEEE!!!" Her voice shrieked across the hall almost as Elias finished speaking, the blur of grey travelling almost as fast as the reverberation. She launched herself at the fluttering black cape that draped over his shoulders, trying to catch ahold of it so she could scale the material to reach the wide brim of his hat. It would be the perfect foothold to fend off the evildoers, but perchance she missed she would suffice to swat them out of the air from nearby jumping points. "FEAR NOT, PIXIE FELLOW! I SHALL SAVE YOU FROM THE VILE CURSE OF THESE CREATURES!"

Elias was back, much to her surprise. Azalea kept her eye on the newcomer that had walked in the door just prior to the elf, meeting the stranger's look with a questioning one as he looked towards the counter. He was either here for work or here to request work, though in the brief inspection she managed before Elias blocked her view, she strongly suspected it to be the former.

"The job is finished." The elf was as ornately layered as ever, most of his garments trimmed with gold, as if having the rank wasn't already enough. He didn't seem ruffled by the pixies' pulling at his clothes as he continued his report and informed her of his plans. She had to pull up the old ledger to check which rebel force they were talking about here, since Elias had that annoying tendency of elves and other immortals to view the passage of time as such a trivial thing.

"I'm going to need more information than that, Mr Enigma," she said patiently, flipping back through the crumbling pages of the quest ledger. "You left for that outpost... well over a year ago now. I'll be expecting a written account of how things went, and any other issues you expect to arise in future from the region." It never hurt to know the layout of a place they were sending members to.

"Is that shop still open by any chance? The one that sells that exotic tea the pixies like so much."

Azalea raised a brow, ready to inform him that it had been quite a while since she ventured into the city--although she may have been able to ask Merkon if the opportunity presented itself--when a war cry filled the hall for the second time that morning. Milby beelined for the front counter, or something at the front counter, and Azalea put her head in her hands as she watched the chinchilla go straight through the pile of papers Kathlyn had just walked away from.

"I just need you to fill out a bit of paperwork." Kathlyn was saying to the newcomer as she reached blindly for the place they usually had their forms. Azalea watched with amused resignation as Kathlyn noticed the contents. "Sorry, not that one... If you wouldn't mind filling that out? I'll go grab some of the items you'll need."

"Just the map please, Kathlyn," Azalea called after, examining the newcomer Elias dealt with Milby off to the side. Up close he looked to be somewhat of a drifter--probably still dusty from the road, though well-presented enough that she didn't get the impression of anything untoward. "New members start at copper," she said after a moment. "Though if you have prior experience in this line of work you can apply to take on iron or silver ranked requests."

She took the map from Kathlyn as she returned to the front counter, unrolling it over the surface. "This is the guild's official records of the surrounding lands. If you complete your first quest successfully and intend to stay longer, you'll be given a waystone and bag of holding to assist in future work."

"Elia... Enigma,"
she said, recalling the rather bizarre name the guild had come to know him by. Most members usually had some kind of moniker by the time they reached gold rank. Judging by the way his clothes hid almost every part of him from view, she wasn't sure if he'd prefer to keep anything personal about him private.

Either way, he seemed to have finished dealing with whatever tall-tale some other member of the guild had told the overly gullible chinchilla. "I can see about ordering that tea in for you if you're able to oversee a quest with the good sir here."

1658085281738.png“Sorry, not that one. Well, unless you'd like to compete with me for my job?”

The woman gave a warm smile that Seth couldn't help but to return. "I wouldn't dare challenge someone so obviously talented, miss.” His grin widened.
He was already liking this place more than he expected, but still, was it really so easy to join? No test or something?

“If you wouldn't mind filling that out? I'll go grab some of the items you'll need.”

“Just the map please, Kathlyn. New members start at copper, though if you have prior experience in this line of work, you can apply to take on iron or silver ranked requests.”

The other woman was polite and professional, but he felt her sizing him up with a single glance. Scary. He wondered if he made the cut. Mother had always made a point of keeping oneself presentable, but the path was not forgiving, and he had spent one too many nights under the stars lately.
In any case, he made a mental note of not trying her patience going forwards. She took the map and unrolled it, revealing an eagle's eye of the surrounding territory. Seth nodded as he looked across the paper, noting it was quite detailed.

“This is the guild's official records of the surrounding lands. If you complete your first quest successfully and intend to stay longer, you'll be given a waystone and bag of holding to assist in future work.”

Ah, there was the catch. Still, a single successful mission as price for membership was more than fair enough. Seth took the map and carefully tucked it away in one of his long coat's pockets, making sure not to crumple it. As he did, the second clerk addressed the extravagantly dressed man who had just entered the guild hall. On any other person, his clothing may have been garish, but this man made them work. He had a dangerous air about him, and Seth could practically feel his power.

Did she just ask the man to oversee Seth? Hopefully he wasn't the irritable type!

Seth bowed to the two women. “I see. I look forward to working with you both in the future, Miss Kathlyn and… I apologize, ma'am, I didn't catch your name.” Then, he turned to the mage and bowed lightly again. “I would of course appreciate any guidance, sir. However, only if you don't mind offering it. I wouldn't like to cut into your work or your rest. My name is Seth of Silvervale, by the by. Would you mind sharing yours?"

Elias knew Azalea would want more information. She was always keen on the information that one could give. He reached into his ornate robe and pulled out a stack of papers. He looked to the former human "Every detail, every risk and every landmark I could see over the span of the year. All in your favorite format." Having been here so long, he simply knew how Azalea likes to do her notes. It was something he was good at, at this point.

He stopped, rolling his eyes as he heard a familiar squeaky voice. An clear sign of immediate exhaustion as the rodent crawled her way up his robes, to his hat and started swinging wildly at the Pixies. The three angrily flittered around him, squeaking in their bell like voices at the chinchilla that was flailing madly at them. They stopped bussing around as Elias lifted his hand, grabbing the small creature by it's scruff and holding her aloft in front of him "Milby, it' good to see you again." He then turned to make sure the cute little rat thing was looking in his eyes "How many times have I told you that the Pixies are not evil or cursed? They are my companions and the sole reason I am alive. Stop pestering them." The pixies all make childish faces at Milby. Sticking their tongues out and mocking the chinchilla. Elias turned to them "Don't go acting like children you three. Have some class." The three get a bit frustrated, but nod and all land on his hat and relaxed.

With Milby still hanging in his hand, Elias turned to Seth. His face still well covered, only one of his eyes gazing down at the bowing man. Part of him felt a kin to this, remembering his own first time in this situation. After a moment, he set the chinchilla on the desk, turning to Azalea "Make sure there's plenty of it. I don't want to run out for a while. If you could also make sure to get some Glintstone Cookies, I would appreciate it. Maybe I'll even return the favor with a meal." Despite doing no such thing, the pixies gasped. They believed he was flirting and asking for a date. A sigh escaped him as one starts to hit his chest. Another pulls his ear and the last bites his cheek "Honestly. You three are impossible." He turned back to Seth "What can you do? If I am gonna oversee this quest, I will need to know what you can do." He then shooed the pixies, who angrily sat on his hat as he waited for the mans answer.

"It was a successful mission in the end." Valeen nodded in response, listening to the guildmarm speak. Her condolences fell rather flat...but it was more than what most people offered her, and definitely more than she deserved from the Guild—

"Me me me me me! We're going to do some business with turkey king, want to join us?"

—And oh dear gods the skeleton was talking to her. Without even a trace of hesitation or restraint in his voice, overflowing with giddiness. Just like that, Valeen began to hardly process the rest of what Azalea was telling her, barely clinging onto her words as they came and went.

Now, it wasn't fear of the undead that made Valeen freeze in place after the bard spoke. Despite the superstition amongst her fellow Westridge farmers, she hardly found them scary—as a matter of fact, Valeen didn't get it at all. Wasn't it easier to crush bones than it was to crush armor? No, Gion's skeletal visage was hardly enough to make her body go rigid...funnily enough, it was perhaps his most likable feature thus far. The excitement in his voice was what truly made Valeen go rigid.

It wasn't that Valeen couldn't bear the skeleton in particular. She just couldn't handle like people like that. They were too nice and too friendly for her crudely brush aside. They were too bubbly, and this one was especially too friendly for her to deal with. Maybe one day she'd be used to it enough to at least look them in the eyes, but for now...as the skeleton waited for a response, Valeen kept her back away from him him. "...I..." But after a moment—Valeen turned around,

"...I will be pursuing the Behemoth quest, Azalea." A harsher, more orc-like look of disdain painted on her face as she walked by Gion. Valeen scrutinized him with narrowed eyes, "I am an orc, skeleton. I do not do well with delicate things like eggs. Dedicating myself to violence..." Making her husky voice heard loud and clear compared to the half-grumbles from before. "...Is for the best of us both, skeleton." With that, the woman brushed past Gion and Kathlyn both. She wanted no more to do with the former, and she especially didn't want the latter to also try and talk to her too.

...In the end, only Azalea bore witness to her initial reaction to Gion. Her expression had been equal parts overwhelmed and gloomy, her ears having drooped even further than before as she to think of how to respond. Valeen had taken a full moment to work up the energy to reject Gion—and even then, she had chosen to come off more as an uninterested brute than to let off how drained someone like him made her. As much as she could anyways. Her voice had already begun to soften by the end of it...

It was as much of a kindness that someone like her could afford. Though, it was hardly a kindness at all...

...That being said. Who the hell WAS Milby?

To be completely frank, Valeen had drunk herself a little too silly before and after her initial quest to remember any of the guild members besides the guild staff. And considering how...little time Valeen had spent getting to know her fellow guildmembers so far, Valeen had pretty much no idea where to go. Save the vague, general direction Azalea had waved her hand towards to of course. And honestly? It didn't help that this main hall was getting pretty lively. Some strange elf (wearing yet another pointy hat, was that just in fashion amongst all wizards?) had taken her place at the front desk, a new human had waltzed through the main gates, and another human come back from the bar to join him. The other half-orc.

His presence was bothersome. It made Valeen feel...conflicted. It made her feel too many things at once to describe, and she downright refused to dwell on that meant. Sadly, judging by what the human next to him was saying... "Where is this Behemoth you keep speaking of?" ...It seemed like the other half-orc's group was her best bet. It was odd, though. Valeen didn't THINK men were called Milby, human or orc. And the way he was speaking, it looked more like the human was addressing the table than the half-orc. It wasn't a mystery that wouldn't be solved as soon as she approached the table herself, though...and besides. There were more pressing matters to deal with.

Like actually talking.
And making conversation with a group.
And convincing others to take someone like her along.

Valeen drummed up her courage as she approached the half-orc and the human male, forcing the words to come out of her mouth...

"...I have heard that you two are going on the Behemoth Quest. If you would have me, I would like to—" "PIXIIEEEE!!! FEAR NOT, PIXIE FELLOW! I SHALL SAVE YOU FROM THE VILE CURSE OF THESE CREATURES!"

And just like that, Valeen just barely stepped out of the way of a small grey blur that passed the instant the words had been shouted. And for a few moments, Valeen just stood there. Trying to process what happened. All she could do was turn her head back over to the half-orc and human, her surprised gaze alone asking them what the hell that was.

Seth followed the antics of the small Pixies fluttering around the mage. He was terse in his treatment of them, but there was also gentleness in his eyes.

Not a common thing to be found on many powerful adventurers, but certainly a welcome one.

“What can you do? If I am gonna oversee this quest, I will need to know what you can do.”

He didn't look at him with contempt for his gear or apparent station. He simply asked for the truth, and truth he would receive.

“Well, sir… Enigma? Is this the name you go by? You certainly do look the part!”

Seth let out a good-natured chuckle, then unclasped his cloak to show the other man a couple of twin short swords strapped to his belt, and his tone became serious. “I am a fair hand at these. Particularly if I need to give space to comrades specialized in long range fights. I won't let the enemy reach them.” That, he said with finality.

“Few things get past me, I use magic to enhance my senses and reflexes. However, I can't cast any other spells: the arcane has always eluded me.”

Afterwards, he tilted his head to bring attention to the long and thin bundle wrapped to his back, “For larger beasts and worthier foes, I prefer this. I have been called spear master, but I confess I have still much to learn about the Dance. Luckily for me,” Seth smirked, “many haven't learned at all. In any case, I'd show you if you want, but I would loathe to alarm our companions.” That relaxed man, the beautiful female half orc and his male counterpart talking besides the counter were nearest, and drawing a weapon so close to them and the… chinchilla! That's what it was! A chinchilla!

Well, anyway, doing so seemed like a bad idea.

So Seth fell silent and wondered if his words were enough. His talents weren't anything particularly exotic. He simply had a knack for weapons and a willingness to take punishment if it meant his companions were safe. While he met Enigma's gaze, shadowed by his great hat, he heard the animated banter of the other adventurers. Yes, this was a good place to pledge his blades to.

Andromeda de Valinnari

Going places takes a toll on people, while Andromeda was having a lot of fun wandering around, she had to stop sometime and she did. Lantana, the last destination of her nomadic pilgrimage, however not the end of her adventure. It was midnight when she arrived there, there was so much one could see that hour of the night, and only creatures of the night dared to appear, that includes rogues, prowlers, hobos, and some other weirdly shaped ones.
Her wandering halted at an inn, where she had a good sip or two of the lantanian booze, until two ill intended fellas began to create a scene, and that escalated very quickly into a brazen brawl involving almost everyone. Andromeda didn't wanted to get involved, she was always advised to not intervene, but she had to do something. While she held herself for a good amount of time, one of the blokes got thrown her way, wine on hand. "Argh--! I did not want--" she held the guy by his collar neck, compressing her lips one on another, she exuded contempt "-- to do it!" her hand was now rated E for Everyone, and reserved for that time being for his face. The draconian clenched her fist, right jab into is face, then a left jab, and connected a right hook, tumbling him down. "You made me do it. Why did you had to stain my aketon?! Unbelievable!"
Her face can be a little bruised, however she dont have to pay for the sojourn, neither the fellas that are sleeping like beautiful bloody angels in the hard and cold ground outside the inn. The innkeeper permitted her to stay as a thanks for the help.
When she woke up, she went to the inn hall, where there she was, the innkeeper and a bunch of kids, none of them looked like her, so they were pressumably adopted.
"In my youth if i had a punch like that i would've become a mercenary. But alas, i didn't" Said the Innkeeper, continuing with "If you need work, i know that to the south there is a guild, just follow the trail". Andromeda nodded, and then thanked her for the sojourn.

She followed the instructions of the innkeeper, and the next thing she knew is that there was a lot of noises coming inside the building. It was clearly the Guild, even the sign pointed there. She leaned her head at the door, and pushed it gently, prying inside with curious eyes. She thought the door could handle her leaning without opening up, her entire line of thought was completely wrong. It in fact opened up, almost making her faceplant, but she didn't, using her failure as a opportunity to gain speed, even if it was desnecessary and with all that acceleration she almost ended over to the other side of the desk. "Oh hey--" she nervously smiled to the recepcionist "Hello" leaning her face with both hands, you could even feel the second hand embarrassment she felt. "How its going?" she didn't noticed anyone by the time she was there trying to cool off her stampede entrance. First thing that enter her view was the green lady. "You... hello there!" she waved her fingers to Azalea and began recomposing herself, dusting both of her shoulders while she gave a look around. Andromeda noticed that there was two orcs, four humans, a sentient rodent, and a skeleton?

The warrior had returned. Dark eyes peered directly at the human man. His few trips into the city here had taught Crask that his mother's acceptance of orcs wasn't common among her race. He had just begun to square his shoulders when the fighter's reaction cut away at his anticipation. Crask relaxed. He nodded back. "Hi."

The rodent was spirited. Crask could acknowledge that much about the creature, but her performance irked him, because he failed to trust her words.

A newly familiar voice distracted him. There stood the other half-orc, her words interrupted by a battle cry. Crask barely followed the gray streak to its destination. The pixies looked more like flies than anything. Fitting foes for a rodent, he guessed. He thought he saw other guild members whispering about the new wizard, but he grunted dismissively at it all, even the other half-orc's bewilderment. "Who made the rat the leader?" He straightened as if he were about to take charge, until his gaze fell to the paper that lied abandoned upon the table. A frown tugged at his lips before he turned his head to the human. "What does it say?" Despite hearing how well she spoke Common, he assumed the tall woman was illiterate too. It belied the way he stared solely at the other man.

What occurred to him, however, was that the woman had been in the middle of making a request, and that was his reason for looking back at her. "Welcome. I accept." His features almost softened. How he missed speaking in his native language around someone who would understand it. A nod joined his approval.

He was vaguely aware of other arrivals. They weren't faces he recognized, and his analysis ended there. The prospect of a new job consumed most of his attention.

Gion Stickman

"Aww, that's too bad. I really think we can work well together." Gion replied back to Valeen. His thin skeletal body clearly showed his shoulders dropping dejectedly. Though his gloomy pose only last for a few seconds as he quickly straighten himself back to his regular confident posture and waved enthusiastly at the half-orc.

"Good luck with the behemoth then. I'm good with calcium so if you need help with eggs you can call me." After that he shifting his attention back to the wizard.

"I guess it will only be you, me and those turkeys, but don't worry. I'm sure we can do this. Let's start the mission!" The skeleton gave the wizard a reassuring thumb up before running out of the guild hall in excitement at his first real mission. Though he came into the guild hall right away while scratching the back of his skull. If a skeleton can blush in embarassment, Gion's face would be as red as tomato by now.

"I kinda forget that I don't know where the mission is. Silly me." He let out a dry laugh at himself.

Having reassured Kathlyn of his intent to return triumphant. The Wizard watched as his new skeletal companion tried and failed to recruit the orc woman for their adventure. Nevertheless, the pair of them would simply have to do against the evil King Turkey. Retrieving its eggs for the client would no doubt be a great undertaking. However he was stronger than he was before due to his experiences with the plant extermination in addition to the potions he drank. Now that his body was healed and ready for action. The Wizard saw no point in remaining any longer. Though he was surprised to see Gion run out the door ahead of him. He didn't even bother to take out his guild stone. Perhaps skeleton people preferred running somewhere rather than teleportation. When his new companion returned to admit a lack of knowledge on their location. The Wizard explained the shiny magic rock that they got upon joining the guild that let them warp to quest locations. He had no idea how it worked yet but its powers were quite convenient. Deciding to give a practical demonstration to the skeleton. The Wizard raised the stone and let himself be whisked away to wherever he needed to be in order to begin his subjugation of the King Turkey.

Elias listened to the explanation of Seth's abilities. He looked away and brought his hand to his chin as he though about the idea of how they would work on the mission. Their styles were different. Of course he would mainly supervise. There was no point in doing the first mission if Elias was the one doing it. A mission at his level would be far too easy. However, their styles were an interesting pair. The pixies were fast and small, so he never had to really worry about them, but he was a different story. If they got too close, he could be taken out and then the pixies would be useless. This new member could prove a useful body guard. However, the other way around was a useful tactic as well. Having someone keeping guard over you from a distance was also useful. Elias' ability to attack in an omni-directional fashion allowed him to keep everyone well guarded. It matches with his style well. War of attrition translated very well to playing guardian. If a single man can starve out and restrict an entire force, they can protect on person in the midst of battle. In all honesty, he and this person were total opposites. However, that did not automatically mean they weren't a good team.

The pixies whined and took flight from his hat. They pester him, pulling at his clothing and making their squeaky noises. They hated when he wasn't paying attention to them. They hated it even more when he was paying attention to someone else. Their tiny little forms tried their best to annoy him. Make him look at them or say something to them. Fluttering about as they tried pulling, shouting and even attacking him with their tiny fists. Despite all this pestering, Elias didn't budge. He stood there, running through strategy and plans. Much like every mission he took on, he liked to come up with a few different fail safe's and back up plans. It was just the way he was.

After a long moment he turned his head towards Azalea and this new receptionist. If he heard right, her name was Kathlyn. He supposed she was new, since she wasn't a face he had seen before. He brushed it off, resigning to talk to her later. He looked at them as he shooed the mischievous little pixies away. They huff and just take a seat on his hat once again, staring daggers at the receptionists as Elias speaks "What is this mission? What location and terrain are we expecting? Any details you can give me would be appreciated." This is how Elias climbed to gold. He was thorough. He made plans on top of plans and he never showed fear or nervousness. Ruthlessly efficient in his pursuit of the goal. It was hard to believe that anyone could be so calculated.

“I see. I look forward to working with you both in the future, Miss Kathlyn and..." Azalea gave her own name as the man turned the question on her, looking favourably upon the brief trade of niceties. He'd washed up from the road to somewhere, it seemed. A place that had instilled a proper respect for conduct. It was unfortunate that such traits were rarer than it ought to be-

"Every detail, every risk and every landmark I could see over the span of the year. All in your favorite format." Her mouth thinned to a displeased line as she took the parchment, fixing a look as if to ask why he hadn't led with that. She set the scroll aside to examine later as Elias turned to deal with Milby and then with Seth, moving a stack of papers away as soon as she noticed Elias place Milby back on the counter. "If you could also make sure to get some Glintstone Cookies, I would appreciate it. Maybe I'll even return the favor with a meal."

That
got a reaction, more so from the pixies than her as she raised a idle brow. They screeched and assailed him over what misconstrued impression they had devised. Having dealt far too much with her own share of tiny trouble, Azalea found the notion of them hanging about distinctly un-cute. "I do not have much in the way of taste any more," she said—it had been one of the first to go. "But keeping your companions placated would be favour enough."

The banging open of the doors drew her attention to the stranger who had all but fallen through the entryway, overcompensating in an attempt to correct herself and ending up sprawled half across the front desk as a result. Azalea stared down at them from the stack of papers she held above their head, having lifted them in an attempt to avoid a repeat of the morning. Was this person drunk?

"You... hello there!" They perked up a bit too quickly, eyes shifting around in an apprehension they should not have possessed if inebriated.

Clumsy then. Azalea could deal with that, provided it were kept in check. "May I help you with something?" She said, watching them attempt to recollect their composure.

"Good luck with the behemoth then. I'm good with calcium so if you need help with eggs you can call me." She nodded to Gion and the Wizard as they set off on their quest, though not without a moment of concern as the skeleton returned sheepishly to the hall. Azalea was beginning to think she'd need to run reading classes for these adventurers. It would certainly make her life easier if people read the quests.

"What is this mission? What location and terrain are we expecting?" Elias finally returned his attention to her, firing off the demands thinly veiled as queries. She reached for the quest register to lay a form on the counter.

"The wildlife in this region has been causing some trouble," she said. The quest title [Savage Sparrows] stared up at them. "Some kind of disturbance has driven the animals into a frenzy. For the most part it seems the village has handled the threat, but the sky-life has proven more of a challenge." There was Little else to say. She was but the messenger. "The cause is being investigated separately. For now the townspeople just want the chance to walk outside their homes without being attacked from above."

While recomposing herself, Andromeda heard a question from the green-skinned lady. "May I help you with something?" - Andromeda thought for a moment, her lips almost in a "U" vocalization shape, then she pressed her upper lip against her lower lip very softly, and gave a smile. "Probably--" she nodded with her head, affirmatively "--yes. My innkeeper friend said that i could find work here." The draconian looked down to the desk, messy than before, a disappointed sigh could be heard. "I am, really, really sorry" said the girl, trying to fix and rearrange the mess she made, however she didn't knew how it was, so it became messier.
If Azalea didn't stopped Andromeda's stampede hands from keep doing more and more chaos around the desk, she would eventually notice how much turmoil she made and stop.

She looked in the general direction of Elias when he spoke to Azalea "What is this mission? What location and terrain are we expecting?" Andromeda attention peaked, and if she was a dog, her ears would be pointing up. When she heard the woman moving, she instinctively felt the urge to look to her but she stopped herself midway, to follow the conversation along. "The wildlife in this region has been causing some trouble, some kind of disturbance has driven the animals into a frenzy. For the most part it seems the village has handled the threat, but the sky-life has proven more of a challenge." The draconian lady pressed her lips once again, thoughtfully contracting her eyebrows. "Weird" she said, almost quietly. Both arms in front of her body, the left arm crossing to the right side while laid at her abdomen, her entire right forearm was vertical, leaning over her as her hand and curled fingers, in a pensive pose. "The cause is being investigated separately. For now the townspeople just want the chance to walk outside their homes without being attacked from above." That seems a good fun adventure, the frenzied wildlife seems is a bit preoccupying, but fun nonetheless. "Now--" she looked directly to Elias "--i thought" she paused "would be fruitful if i went along this adventurous party." said Andromeda, with a soft smile.
