Realistic or Modern Inner Demon | Arc #1: The Mutants

Camilo was now at the front of the school, he begun heading down towards the bus stop until he noticed a small group of people. One being Emiru the other being Rowan, and one he wasn’t sure who it was. “Oh god” He mumbled under his breath and just put his head down. He was going to attempt to be quiet and sneaky like a fox to not be noticed. He wished his brother did pick him up now.

"Oh, I was asking Emiru, but yeah. For me it's kind of like moving an arm? I don't really know how to describe it..."

"Well i'm immune to the cold, but i can feel the coldness in my guts when I'm using my powers."she said.

A girl with pink hair had been quietly walking with the group since they got together. Well, it was more like they were all going in the same direction before some of them started to split apart. There were a lot of interesting things being said.. she had wanted to chime in, but stayed silent because she was afraid they'd attack her. Kiva probably would've made it all the way off the school grounds and back home had she not let out a sneeze. "Uh oh..." she softly said to herself.

Roy notived the girl."bless you."he sad. he noticed she was nervous, and gets up to walk to her."umm, Hi."he said with a small wave.

Kiva jumps when she heard Roy. "Oh! Thank you." She feels a bit scared as he approaches her, but she doesn't run away immediately as he doesn't seem to be approaching her in a threatening way. She politely waves back at him. "Um...hi."

"it's okay, But you seem nearvous, Mind if i ask, what's wrong?"He said. She sounded concerned and he was just curious as well. Emiru was watching and then Takes out her hat and puts it on.

"Well...I um..." Kiva looks at the ground, still very nervous. "I was...I was just wondering...please don't hurt me...I was wondering if any of you felt...different. I overheard some talks, but I wasn't eavesdropping I promise."

Jackie wasn't sure about his powers. To him, it didn't feel anything like moving an arm or anything of the sort. He wasn't even sure he was connected to anything they were talking about which made him feel a little out of place. The passing out was a weird thing, but it hadn't been the first time he'd went out cold on the sidewalk. One wrong move in a fight and he would've gone down with him being the smallest boy his age as well as picking fights with older and stronger kids. That didn't mean he couldn't put force behind his punches, but it did mean that his tiredness could've been related to that rather than the strange cat. This was weird. Talking about powers. Definitely weird.

He stayed quieter than he usually would've though, for once, he was pretty focused in as he looked towards a girl who had apparently arrived. Or maybe she had already been there. He wasn't sure nor had he noticed her. He gave a silent but friendly wave towards her.

Kiva's eyes catch Jackie waving at her, so she waves back. Suddenly, she's startled by Rowan and accidentally becomes transparent for a couple of seconds before reverting back to normal. "Wah! You actually want to know my name? Okay. My name is Kiva. It's uhhh nice to meet you all. I'm so sorry that you all had to see that."

Jackie's eyes widened when Kiva turned transparent. These kids really did have powers. And maybe he did as well...

He shook himself out off his daze so he could welcome in the new kid to their group, Kiva. "Don't apologize, it's pretty sweet. Nice to meet ya Kiva."

Uhh did I miss something? I thought, being completely oblivious to the interaction taking place before I rudely interrupted. "You didn't do anything! By the way, what just happened with the light?" I asked, completely confused as to everything happening. "Oh, uh, I'm Rowan," I said awkwardly.

"Nice to meet you, Rowan." Kiva looks around. Her paranoia starts to get to her a bit. "Light? What light? Are we in danger?"

"The light changed for a moment, and you looked... transparent?" I said. "I don't think anything's wrong... right?" I said, the worry starting to infect me too.

"The light changed for a moment, and you looked... transparent?" I said. "I don't think anything's wrong... right?" I said, the worry starting to infect me too.
Kiva blushes in embarrassment. "Y-you won't...hate me or tell anyone if I answer your question, will you?" On one hand, she was surprised to feel accepted. However, a part of her was afraid that she was being set up and walking into a trap.

"Hate you? Over weird lighting? Why would I do that?" I asked, confused, still not realizing what'd actually happened. "If it's that important to you, I promise not to tell anyone." I said, even more confused. Everyone's been being weird since last week... I thought, in the closest fashion to a mumble one can think.

Kiva takes a few deep breaths. Maybe they are friendly. Maybe they won't hate me. Besides. It's too late to turn back now. I hope I don't regret this. "Okay. Here goes." She becomes transparent again. This time, she keeps drowning out her image until she's completely invisible. A few seconds pass before she returns to normal. When she does, she staggers.

Octavia had left for a few minutes to get her drink, she soon felt better and made her way back to the group. She thought about texting Camilo when she got back home to check up on him.

From afar she noticed a person who looked familiar but couldn't recognise him from a distance and a new person talking to her friends. "Hello there." She greeted the girl as she arrived and slurped on her juice.

Jackie was so focused on looking around for where Kiva went that he didn't even notice Octavia was returning. Kiva soon reappeared and he almost jumped when she did and Octavia came back. He tried to keep his cool, act like he hadn't been caught off guard by something so small, so he just started back on his popsicle that was dripping even more. "Yo." He greeted Octavia and with his free hand gave a little wave as she returned. He was still debating whether that was real. A trick of the light, maybe, like Rowan had first guessed. Or maybe he was just exhausted, like he had been for the past week. But from what he had seen before, there was really no excuse for it. It had to be real. Still very surprising though, even if he had witnessed Emiru making an icy pencil.

Roy just became Quiet and watches them and then he went back into his book, that her was reading.

Kiva sees another girl approaching the group while drinking some juice. So far, so good. I'm still safe...I think. Kiva waves back at the girl and smiles shyly. "Hello."

Octavia nodded back and asked “Are you from our class or something?”, she couldn’t recognize her as much as she tried. She didn’t expect to see a new face either.

Her eyes wandered back to the person she saw earlier, she could see him better now and he seemed to be…Camilo? At least it looked like it. Should I go talk to him? He didn’t come talk to us though, maybe he still needs some time alone? She eventually decided to let him be for now. Yeah, I’ll just give him a text later and maybe even talk to him tomorrow. Nevertheless he couldn't help but still feel unsure of her decision. It didn't sit right to just apologize through text when he was right there, but there was always another day. After making up her mind she looked away hoping she wasn't staring too much.

Camilo had lifted his head slightly noticing Octavia, though he didn’t react or anything. He put his head back down and continued to walk to the bus stop. Once he was there he took another cigarette out his bag to light. The bus wouldn’t get here for another fifteen to twenty minutes. So he had to try and make up time.

Kiva nods. "Yes. It's okay if you don't recognize me. I'm practically invisible in crowd settings, and really in general. I have to wave at my teachers when ever I enter a class so that they know I showed up." She looks away. "I don't...do well in the spotlight anyway, so it's okay if I'm not noticed. Better ignored than impaled, you know?"
