great.

The reassurance made Freddy give a small sigh in relief. Over his years at school, he came to the conclusion that nearly everyone has found his nerdy rambles to be annoying. And as much as he knew that his friends weren't the type to share the same beliefs, he liked to be precautious. He glanced at his work again. The cork board was more of a mess than he last left it, his scratchy hand writing crudely have written phrases along the lines of, "student?", "teacher?", "popular?" with red yarn connecting them all to the newspaper article in the middle of the board. The article in question being the headline of the local paper a couple of months ago, his dad had written it and from what Freddy remembers, it sold pretty well. "The Porcelain Doll Killer, will he take your daughter?" A little bit insensitive, but it was the paranoia that sold to the residents of Easthaven.

He leaned into her hand.
"You can say that again."
Freddy muttered with a light laugh, who could have expected that this was going to be the start of their week? Before Kallie could have answered his question, the principal's voice came booming from the intercom. Admittedly, it made Freddy jump from where he stood.

Great. He had expected just a regular announcement to leave school and return to their houses immediately, but of course they wanted to get everyone in one area to talk about it. And then the thought it him. The chances were there, Freddy wrote it down on his board himself, when they get to the auditorium, the killer could be in the exact same room as them. Sitting beside them, acting as clueless and scared as the rest of them. Humanity was capable of many heinous crimes but the idea of a student or even a staff member being demented enough to be a serial killer and have the abilities to hide it for so long? A shiver went down Freddy's spine at the thought.

He turned back his attention to Kallie and a nervous smile grew on his face. Now wasn't the time to dive back into a spiral of dread, not when he had Kallie and the rest of his friends as an anchor of support.
"Always coming up with the best plans."
Freddy took his tetra pack from the desk he seemingly left it on and offered an arm in Kallie's direction.
"Shall we go, m'lady?"
Feigning a down right awful medieval British accent he gave a overly dramatic bow before laughing at his own joke.
"Musn't get caught by the plebians."

Freddy was more than elated at the idea of getting to sit with the rest of his friends. Their last encounter together was so erupt that they all went their separate ways before he could check up on them. Them and the rest of the group will surely stick out like a sore thumb during the meeting, they all technically discovered the body today and the rest of the student body, knowing how nosey they could be would want the full story. Freddy was just nervous about the possibility of talking to the cops, he's infamous for asking them about detective interrogations whenever he and Odette visits her dad in the office. He was also nervous about seeing Ashlynn again, it has only now just came back to him that he owed her a history paper and that was why she came to the chemistry lab in the first place. It was a guilty feeling, feeling responsible for the reason why she had to see that grim scene earlier today. He just hoped that paper was worth it, Freddy knew it would be worth an A+ no doubt.

sigh.

Odette and her father's conversation was cut short when a his deputy told him that they needed to get to the scene and check it out. It was just a quick hug and asking if she was okay (to which she answered,
"No. There's a body in the chemistry lab."
) She stood outside the school awhile more, looking at its engraved name at the center of the building. She knew Easthaven was a small town shit show, but ever since the development of a serial killer within the community, it just seems even more quick to crumble into pieces. The turf wars and class conflict between the south and north side of town was bad enough, especially with the new recent additions to the school roster. A bunch of bad apples, the lot of them. The by-product of poor management from their mayor, which was the exact reason why Odette wants to leave town so badly. It's a town with drama you can see in the very high school they have, it's like graduating and staying here is no different from leaving Easthaven high to begin with.

She sighed, focusing back at the present, deciding to go back into the belly of the beast as she moved past the crowd of students outsideโ€” sparring a shove against Ryan after passing him and Blake back inside. Odette listened to the sound of the principal's voice echo across the intercoms of the hallway. It wasn't a surprise that the school faculty would want to gather everyone around to inform them of the news, but Odette Whittaker didn't need informing, she was there. Or at least, she saw the body after her friends discovered it. What did the school want to say? That one of the runners for prom queen got killed and her corpse was found fashioned as a doll in the chemistry lab? She would rather go home and wait for the news report on the local news channel or buy tomorrow's newspaper. At least she would feel slightly more secure in the comfort of her own house, where she knows the locations of her dad's firearms.

But at the end of the day, Odette was the student body president, she was expected to be one of the first people to attend to these student body gatherings, even if she really didn't want to. The curse of maintaining a reputation she supposes. When she gets to the doors of the auditorium she spares a peak and notices a lack of her friends. Right. Odette knew that Freddy and Kallie were most likely on their way, their office could easily hear the instructions from the intercoms. Taylor being outside by the vending machines however... Call Odette protective all you want, but she didn't want her hippie stoner to get into trouble and have to be seen escorted by her dad's co-workers to the auditorium.

Odette was then facing a crossroads situation. To risk getting caught leaving the school building to find Taylor or to go inside and leave her to her own devices. The principal did emphasize that there was to be no pitstops.

But heaven knows that she could never pick the latter.

Odette quietly closed the auditorium door once more and hurriedly made her way to the exit. The school was beginning to crawl with cops, and as much as they were her dad's friends and she has seen them during her birthday parties and arranged brunches, in a murder case, they would not let her slide and exit. So she tip toed and made she to check every corner she took before continuing to speed walk towards the school's front entrance. It wasn't an easy feat whatsoever but she somehow managed. Quickly, she exited the school doors once again and found herself roaming the campus before she got to the little spot of the vending machine where her friend stood. Well, her friend and public enemy #1, Romeo Hawthorne.

"There you are."
She smiled at Taylor, choosing to ignore Rome all together for the sake of an easy interaction.
"The principal wants all students to get to the auditorium, we better go before my dad's co-workers think we're trying to leave the building."
Odette lets out a hand for her to take.

  • as her high was just settling in, her feelings started to soar and her heart was at a slightly faster beat. it wasnโ€™t a scary feeling, it felt, good. maybe a little too good. then, the school intercom interrupted, instructing all students to report to the auditorium at once. or be escorted by authorities. then, the slight feeling of nervousness started to creep over her. taylor shook her head. no. she wouldnโ€™t allow this slight mishap to ruin her feeling, not today.

a voice broke her thought induced trance as her eyes shot up, she saw odette approach. a faint smile spread onto the girls face, which was then followed by a confused frown.

โ€œodette, what are you doing out here, your dad?โ€ she asked in a hushed whisper, before odette spoke again, offering her a hand to join her in the auditorium, and she hastily accepted the offer. it was bad enough that she was already blitzed, being escorted by a cop would only make things worse than they could be.

before joining odette, she grabbed romeโ€™s hand gently. โ€œyou should come too, rome. you have way too much on you to be out here and having an officer escort you wouldnโ€™t be the brightest idea..โ€ she whispered, knowing it was best for all of them to get going.

as she entered the building following odette, she let out a faint sigh of relief seeing her brother, ryan already making his way to the auditorium, along with blake and ashlynn. her brother actually had the right amount of sense this time to follow the rules for once.

once she was lead to the auditorium doors, the high feeling started to come over her again. once again, she felt more at ease, more energetic than anything. her feelings started to jolt as she entered the crowded room full of students, as she sat down with her friends. the group would stick out like a sore thumb more than anything, they were the ones to discover the body, after all. no doubt odetteโ€™s dad would be taking statements from them, and as long as she felt the way she was feeling right now, she would be perfectly fine.

there were whispers accumulating the auditorium about a lifeless evelyn dermot being zipped up in a body bag at this moment. a shudder came from the girlโ€™s lips as she heard the pain in their voices, the sad, heartbroken whimpers coming from her friends and fellow classmates. she never really knew the girl, but she was one that was always smiling, always cheerful. she was able to empathize with every one of the friends grieving, as she winced and held back a steady flow of tears. thankfully, she was still high, because if she was in the setting sheโ€™s in now sober, sheโ€™d probably still be freaking out and in a haze. she sat up, a little less slouched when the principle entered the auditorium.

    what a day.

Ash Davenport
the cheerio
Shock washed over Ashlynnโ€™s face when she realized she might have fixed her lipstick for nothing. The cheerleader was walking after Blake, convinced he and her had the same idea of how to take that edge off and she almost fainted when he brought her to a group of individuals who already were so lost in their haze they probably couldnโ€™t tell whether it as morning or afternoon. And ask them about Evelyn, they might just stare at you with those point blank faces as if they never heard her name. Ideal state to be in when the whole school was crawling with police, for sure. Ash was disgusted more than she could say and was determined to leave this place in next twenty seconds. Whether she had to drag Blake from here or not.

Once her voice echoed under the bleachers, Blake turned to her and that signature playful smirk was sitting on his lips as he told her this was just step one. Narrowing her eyes, Ash looked at him, not one hundred percent sure what he meant. โ€œStep one? So whatโ€™s next? You gonna join to glee club to sing kumbayah around the fire and meditate?โ€ she snapped but Blake just returned the blunt and placed the hand on the small of her back. Walking mare than carefully, watching her every step, Ash let him to take her more to the back where they truly could be alone and there he wrapped his arms around her waist, pressing her body against one of the sturdy pillars. โ€œNow weโ€™re talking.โ€ she smirked, wrapping her fingers around the zipper of his jacket. Their lips met in a kiss that was far from romantic. It was hungry, crushing and passionate, trying to make them both forget the events from earlier.

Pulling away, he licked the remnants of her cherry-flavored lipgloss off his lips, commenting how cherry was his favorite. โ€œI know.โ€ Ash shrugged in her own smug way and pulled him in another kiss. Her hands disappeared under his jacket, finger traced the line of hardened muscle under his shirt and a few moans escaped her lips upon his actions, touch and tugs. And the couple would go way further that just heavy makeout session but the principal was a real buzzkill. The sound of his voice echoed all over the field and Ash groaned in annoyance. โ€œSeriouslyโ€ฆโ€ she shook her head and leaned against Blake. โ€œYou owe me.โ€ she winked mischievously before they left their little spot to join the student body in the damned auditorium.

With everyone trying to get in, the entrance was soon overcrowded which made Ash wrinkle her nose. She was used to people making way for her and now, this looked like a cheap mall during the Christmas season. โ€œJesus! Calm down, you hobgoblins.โ€ she rolled her eyes hard, gripping Blakeโ€™s hand even harder. The redheaded boy actually asked a very good question. Home was where everyone was supposed to go. Not the auditorium. But no, they were all being hauled there like cattle. Ash was becoming fed up. Ryan joined them and people were now pressing into the door from every side. โ€œIโ€™m too cute for this.โ€ Ash exhaled. โ€œComing through! Excuse me, thank you, yesโ€ฆโ€ Her loud voice carried through the air, catching the attention of everyone in front of her. They looked confused at first but then the crowd started to part like the Red Sea. โ€œThatโ€™s better.โ€ Ash breathed and strutted right towards the entrance. Looking over her shoulder at Blake and Ryan, she raised her eyebrows with a small smirk. โ€œComing, gentlemen?โ€

Romeo Hawthorne
the prince
Not just Blake needed to take the edge off after witnessing the possible senior prom queen spread on the table looking like a Victorian nightmare. Romeo would never be able to get that picture out of his head, no matter how much drugs he would do. Not that he ever underestimated the Porcelain Doll Killer but somehow, it was always just a matter of the TV news and newspaper scandal. Now it was way too close. It invaded the school and it meant, the murderer had to be someone with an access, it had to be someone who was able to move around the school freely and could lay their hands on the set of keys. That or then there was even more terrifying version. It was someone who had access everywhere in Easthaven Point. And if they could enter the highly locked up school, what prevented them from starting to enter homes?

Trying to push the grim thoughts out of his head, Rome walked away with Taylor and the two stopped at the vending machine. Not having anyone to take under the bleachers in Blakeโ€™s way, Rome had to find another way how to calm himself down and luckily, he had just the thing. The mint box in his back pocket was freshly filled with the most recent batch and he immediately had one of those pills in his mouth, offering some to Tay as well. How smart was it to swallow pills and smoke weed with the police all around? Dumb as fuck but did it stop Rome? As if!

The pair walked outside to get some air and ride their high. Rome wrapped his arm around Tayโ€™s waist and put his sunglasses on to prevent any questions form the men of justice. For a moment, he pretended he was just a caring boyfriend taking his lover out to breathe after the traumatic event and nudged Tayler a little bit aside. While they both were already skilled and knew how to act in front of any authorities despite being higher than a private jet, there was no point in useless risks. His eyes were already scanning the yard, trying to find the perfect spot when the intercom crackled and the principalโ€™s voice ordered everyone to get to the auditorium. โ€œAw, fuckโ€ฆโ€ he grumbled and wondered how serious that threat was.

But there was no time to fully think it through as Odette appeared out of nowhere. Why, he had no idea but before he knew it, she was taking Taylor away with her. โ€œComing, love, no worries.โ€ he reassured Taylor and watched the two girls leave. There were quite a few things on the tip of his tongue he wanted to say to Odette but for Tayโ€™s sake, decided to be quiet. This was not the time to get into petty squabbles with the little president. And his high was starting to hit just right. It was the best time to actually enter the building or else he might have to have a lot of explaining to do. And he was not ready to share his mints with anyone else at this point.

Entering the building again, Rome was making his way to the auditorium when he noticed his amigos and Ashlynn make their way in. A low chuckle escaped his lips as he joined them. โ€œWhat up, bitches? Enjoying your vip pass?โ€ he grinned, trying to make the situation at least a little lighter. The whispers around him were not making things easier and Rome decided to filter the death talk. There was going to be plenty of that later. โ€œThey gonna talk to us, right?โ€ he asked, tucking his hands deep in the pockets of his jeans.

kallista zabielski
the good girl
The only thing keeping Kallie together right now honestly was Freddy. Watching him think and work was giving her something else to focus on instead of seeing Evelyn's dead face over and over in her mind. Like a sick sense of dรฉjร  vu, every time she saw the image in her mind, a wave of nausea crashed over her as well, nearly making her empty her stomach of the juice she'd slowly been consuming. On the outside, she was calm as she sat there in the office with her friend, but on the inside she was shaking. The porcelain doll killer wasn't a new thing and had had a few victims thus far, but him (or her) killing Evelyn just hit too close to home.

And speaking of home... She knew that Blake wouldn't mind if his stepsister was the next victim, which just made her sick to her stomach as well. She may not get along with Blake but she didn't hate him or even wish bad things on him. Maybe a minor inconvenience here and there, but his words to her and even her friends back in the chemistry lab just confirmed her thoughts that her stepbrother hated her and anyone she associated with. It made her sad, but it also pissed her off. What had they ever done to him? Honestly, he could just take his selfish, entitled ass somewhere with Ashlynn. It was no wonder to Kallie that they got along so well.

The announcement over the PA system distracted her from her thoughts, and stopped the two friends from conversing. Kallie offered Freddy a small smile before she went to throw her empty juice box away, turning back to him and talking about how they should prepare for the second wave of crazy. He returned her smile, a little nervously, and she let out a small laugh when he said she had the best plans. "Please. I learned from the best." When he offered his arm, she looped hers through his and nodded. "Lead the way, good sir." She returned his attempt at an accent, her soft laughing turning into an actual one as they left the office, locking up and heading for the auditorium. "I definitely needed that laugh. Come on. Let's find our friends."

Leaning her head on his shoulder for a moment, she straightened as they got closer to the auditorium, finding the doorways extremely crowded. "Jesus." Kallie muttered, frowning a little bit as she stood on her tiptoes, trying to find the others. It wasn't until they managed to get inside that Kallie pointed out Odette and Taylor, and she nodded in their direction, her grip on Freddy's arm tightening. "Found them." She told him, leading him in that direction and down the row so they could sit with their friends. Students kept piling in, and before long, the principal stepped onstage and a hush fell over the crowd when they noticed him standing at the podium.

"For those of you who are unaware, Evelyn Dermot was found earlier in the chemistry lab." He didn't have to say that she was dead. Even the students who may not have known could guess what he meant. "Our secretaries are already in the process of calling parents. We are taking this very, very seriously. The police are already here and a full investigation will be done." He looked around the room, his expression deadly serious as he launched into an entire speech, one that Kallie could hardly focus on. Especially when he got to the end. "I need the following students to come up to the stage: Ashlynn Davenport, Romeo Hawthorn, Kallista Zabielski, Blake Zabielski, Ryan Hartford, Taylor Hartford, Fredrick McCoy, Odette Whittaker..." He listed a couple others who had been in the chemistry lab, though Kallie's heart had completely dropped when she heard her name and she'd stopped listening.

"Everyone else is dismissed."

Although Blake would have much preferred to stay under the bleachers with Ashlynn, he wasn't about to get dragged back into the school by the police. That'd be a one way to negative attention town, and Blake did his best to keep his 'bad' side under wraps. At least from his father. At least Kallie was good for one thing-- she always came and got his friends when they were too wasted, taking the others home and then taking her and Blake back to their shared house. Had he ever thanked her for it? Nah. Was he appreciative? Well of course. He wasn't about to go soft, though. Absolutely not. Maybe one day she'd actually grow a backbone and say something, but until then, Blake was gonna continue to take advantage of the fact that she helped him out.

It was fucked up, sure, but oh well.

Leading Ash back to the school, he spotted Ryan and pulled her in his direction, smirking back at Ryan at his white on rice comment. When he asked if his friend was alright, he saw Ryan reach up to rub his temples, and Blake had to agree with what he was saying. "It was insane." He muttered, looking around the crowd, wrinkling his nose slightly. "They certainly don't make this shitshow any easier to handle. And I'm really not trying to get snitched on by miss class president to her daddy." Rolling his eyes, the three of them finally got into the school, and then finally the auditorium. Ashlynn had a big part in that, her loud voice and demanding presence practically making people separate like the red sea for them. Well, for her; Blake and Ryan were just following her lead.

Inside the large room, another familiar voice reached Blake's ears and he smirked over at Romeo as he approached them. "Oh, for sure." Blake punched his arm. "Where'd you disappear to, hm?" He glanced around the room, his eyes landing on Taylor as she sat with Odette, remembering how Romeo had left the chemistry lab with the former of the two. They were joined shortly after by Kallie and Freddy, and Blake just scoffed. They made their way to some seat and Blake nodded at Romeo's question, just as the principal made his way onstage and the crowd hushed. "Guess so." Blake muttered, shrinking down in his seat to get comfortable as the older man started to talk.

Honestly, Blake wasn't really paying much attention until the man started listing names. "The fuck!" He hissed angrily, sitting up in his seat suddenly. A few people surrounding them shot him weird looks or even glares, but he just glared back at them until they turned back around. Then everyone else was dismissed, and Blake thought there might be a stampede as those whose names hadn't been called hurried to try and be the first to leave. "Well this is bullshit." Blake plopped back in his seat, crossing his arms over his chest as he glared at the seat in front of him. "How the fuck did he even get that list of names?"

  • as her friends started flooding in, a faint smile appeared on taylorโ€™s lips, finally they were all together and maybe could figure something out. she didnโ€™t even realize that the principal was speaking, she was still rather high from the pill she took from rome earlier and was too lost in her own thoughts in that moment to care. she was waiting for freddy and kallie to reach her and odette, ready for freddy to start spouting off about who the killer might be, what their motives were, so on and so forth. it was quite interesting to her to hear freddy out, unlike her brother and his friends who really wanted to catch a rise out of him all of the time.

then, he started listing names. โ€œfuck..โ€ she muttered before slumping low in her seat, paranoia started to set in, not even for herself, but for romeo especially. she took a slight glance at the rest of the trio, blake had glassy eyes like the two of them, and the thought of either of them getting caught made her want to vomit.

an overwhelming feeling of absolute dread washed over her, a bad feeling that washed her high out completely. now, that high, was just anxiety. her thoughts immediately ordered her to calm down, the rush started to sink in and her face started to feel numb.

damnit man get yourself together. they probably just need a statement. rome and blake will be fine, just pull yourself together.

the words echoed in her head as she sat up straight, eyes dead on the principal as she stood up, a little wobbly due to the anxiety she was feeling, but she could just blame it on the fact that she saw a dead person. she had a pretty spotless record, so they shouldnโ€™t suspect a thing, right? so did blake, and romeo was literally a legendary con artist, so they should all be fine. a slight sigh of relief exited her lips as she made her way to the stage, following her friends.

their get together would just have to be later, because now they needed to face the cops, give their statements and hopefully go home. what would their parents think of this? their teens finding a body in the chemistry lab? would they think they had something to do with it? would they close down the school? either way, something needed to be done. something needed to give. because this shit? this shit was for the birds.

"this is a dialogue."
ryan was now following blake and ashlynn into the building, a feeling of overarching dread leaking into his mind as his footsteps lead closer to the auditorium door. then ashlynn, as if she was moses parting water, cleared a pathway for the three to enter. ryan glanced over at blake before a small smirk appeared on his lips.

damn she really was good for something afterall, he thought before laughing and shaking his head. he followed the two toward the auditorium, before being interrupted by their last piece of the puzzle.

as romeo approached, a small laugh came from his lips, before shoving rome a little bit in a playful manner. but then he glanced, and didnโ€™t see his sister prodding after him. a small frown of confusion slid its way onto his once smiling face, an eyebrow raised.

shit, where the fuck did she go?

as soon as the thought entered his mind, it quickly made its exit as he saw a visibly high taylor made her way past him with odette. he let out a sigh. if tay was going to be with anyone in this very moment, it probably needed to be odette. he knew the two were friends, so, odette wouldnโ€™t betray her, right? right.

the now group of four made their way into the auditorium and of course ashlynn made it very clear that if anyone touched her, she would make it very apparent not to do it again. the four sat together, and ryan glanced at his sister who seemed lost in her head. he wouldnโ€™t doubt it at this point. but the male was too busy worrying about his sister to even realize that the principal was speaking, and calling out names.

then his name was called, and he heard his friend call out โ€œthe fuck!โ€

at that point, in that very moment, he knew things were going to go completely south.

great.

He was glad his little antics could rise a laugh out of Kallie, heaven knew she needed that. They all did. Freddy's been trying to remember his cork board, the detective notes he scribbled onto there. He pictured the red yarn rather than the pale face of Evelynn Dermot in the chemistry lab, he was a third partyโ€” someone who was not affected whatsoever, he had no reason to be upset. There was no reason for him to feel responsible in any way for her death, he just couldn't help but see the death of Evelynn and the death of... them to be one of the same. It was annoying; itching at the back of his skull and unable to satisfy.

I need to collect some rocks.

Freddy took another sip from his juice pack before leading Kallie out the door, making sure to lock it behind them, no porcelain doll killer is going to use their office as another crime scene. The walk between the two towards the auditorium was just what he needed, quiet comfort the two were providing each other despite the utter chaos happening outside their persons. He chose to ignore the frightened faces of his peers as they made their own pathing to the auditorium, instead focused on his juice pack, analyzing the tiny details of the label and design. The mutter of Kallie brought his head back to the world around him, the entrance was crowded. It was like watching a colony of ants trying to get back to the hill all at once.
"Jeez did any of you guys learn the importance of lines?"
He said under his breath.

It was a little bit amusing to see Kallie go on her tiptoes, he knew who she was looking for, and thanks to his height he didn't need any extra leverage to scope the parameter. Call him blind (because he legally is) but she seemed to have spotted their two other friends before he could.
"Good eye."
He followed her lead and felt a huge wave of relief to be sitting with all of his friends, seeing that regardless of all the current events, they were all in one piece.

A smile and wave was all he had time to give before the principal began saying his speech. He shouldn't be surprised by the news he was giving, but the words announcing Evelynn's death still stunned him to silence. It wasn't unordinary for his name to be part of the list of people, he knew that the police would want to take some statements from the witnesses and Freddy literally held the key to the room where her body was found. Glancing to his friends he noticed how unnerved Taylor was, and like the beanstalk he is, he stretched a hand to rub her shoulder.
"Hey. It's just gonna be a couple of statements, nothing bad. We'll be here every step of the way."
He spoke like it was fact, but he knew that it wasn't guaranteed, the police could have them in separate rooms for statements if they wanted to. But he didn't like seeing his friend worry so much.

"C'mon gang the sooner we finish this up, the better."
Before Freddy could rise out of his seat, the loud cuss of Blake made him jump right back down. Fight or flight, more like freeze in fear. He understood his anger, well, not really. Unlike most of their parents, he knew that his would want him to tell them everything. "An inside report from a student at the scene of the crime." If anything, besides the nervous jitters that inherently came with getting interviewed by the police, Freddy would rather spend some extra time there than go back home and have a second interview with his parents.

Although Freddy didn't necessarily like Blake, he made a good point. How did they get the list of witnesses so fast? He couldn't help but glance towards his best friend.
"You didn't tell your dad the list of witnesses, did you Oddy...?"
He whispered to her. Freddy took her whisper back as the god's honest gospel, he trusted her not to lie and he knew that she wasn't one to lie about this. There would be no shame in telling her dad anything. It must've been the other students in the halls or maybe even the security cameras.

He followed her lead and stood up from his chair, although staying behind a couple of steps, waiting for his other two friends to join them, giving them a small smile for at least a little bit of comfort.

She rolled her eyes simply at the words leaving Rome's pretty mouth, Odette couldn't see why Taylor would even consider being in the same vicinity of him.

She was pretty sure that Taylor was a little high off her ass but Odette made it her responsibility to be her support as they walked towards the auditorium. And if she had to deal with being alongside Romeo to ensure that? She was fine with compromising, at least for now. By the time they got to the entrance, the boy had parted ways with them, to her satisfaction but the amount of students blocking the entrance did annoy her. It wasn't this packed when she first had arrived to the auditorium. And after moving her way through the crowd, hand still gently gripping onto Tay's to make sure she didn't lose her, they finally made it inside.

The president lead her friend to a row of seats in the middle, although she normally would sit somewhere in front, she knew that Taylor wouldn't quite appreciate that. It wasn't that bad anyway, if Odette would admit, she'd rather stay in the sidelines for this assembly. As a teenager, it was hard to take in that this was now the reality they are facing, with a girl they once knew was now dead. And her killer was running free, and they've been running free for a very long time.

It didn't take long for Freddy and Kallie to join them, she gave them a smile before returning her attention to the principal who began discussing the happenings of the day. She knew her dad was out there, currently investigating the scene. This entire case has been swallowing him whole for the past months, it was almost like seeing Freddy get into his theory mode except it was against her father's control. Where her best friend looked like some mad scientist who enjoyed the process, her father always looked drained, ripped and crumpled paper littering his study in the house. Odette would occasionally find herself going over there to drape a blanket over his hunched, sleeping form against his desk. She silently prayed to whatever higher power looking after them that Evelynn would be the last victim this killer would take.

Her brows rose at the call of the names. The school must really be upping their game finding the witnesses so quickly, it was honestly a startle for the girl after hearing her name be called. Freddy made a good point, the sooner this was done, the better and at this point refusing to be interviewed would be more of a problem at the end of the day than not. But of course this would earn a rise out of other people who were called, specifically Blake, who quickly stood from his seat in outrage as the rest of the student body made their way out of the venue. She wanted to be annoyed, but she just couldn't find it in her at that point, the day was getting long and Odette simply wanted to get this case solved so the school could feel like a safe place again.

The whisper from Freddy caught her by surprise. He was worried for her, she could see that, if she was the person to snitch on everyone, Blake would be furious.
"I would've but no."
She whispered back,
"Dad needed to get to the crime scene as soon as possible and I wasn't given that much time to talk to him."

Odette promptly stood from her seat and began walking towards the stage, still walking with poise in her step as she met with the principal. There was the assumption that her friends were following behind, but she was more focused on acting as orderly as possible in front of the principal, hoping to make this short and sweet. Her smile was tired but still on her face nonetheless.
"You wanted to talk to us, sir?"
Clasping her hands behind her back, she waited for the rest to join her on the stage, hoping that the three amigos and the ever-so-beloved queen bee will finally concede and just help the investigation to an extent.

Ash Davenport
the cheerio
There was a literal list of things Ash Davenport didnโ€™t do and waiting in lines was on it. She considered herself way too cute and important to wither in the crowd, letting the student body shove and bump into her, wrinkling her perfectly ironed cheer uniform. Like they would ever be worthy of wearing such precious attire anyway! Seeing that not even the star athlete had enough respect among the peasants, Ash decided to take the matters in her own hands and had the whole crowd part like the Red Sea, making way for her, Blake and Ryan. The beauty queen strutted through it and only the dull thuds of her sneakers echoed in the hallway as she did so. Ash was extremely proud of herself for solving their waiting problem but when she turned around to collect her sweet reward from her lover, she noticed the evil trio was now complete.

Loud โ€˜ughโ€™ crawled out of her mouth and she turned back to walk to the auditorium. This time, no screaming was necessary and people jumped out of the way on their own. Ash was making her way to her usual seat and only a couple of stoners in the front didnโ€™t get the memo that the queen was walking. โ€œOut of my way, Bert and Ernie.โ€ she spat at them, pushing them out of her way indeed and a few seconds later, her ass landed on a cushion seat. A small smile was tugging on her lips, but it was not like she was happy or cheerful. This was her default royal bitch face.

The principal got on the stage and made the horrifying announcement. Hearing his words, goosebumps sprung all over Ashโ€™s body and her lower lip quivered. Evelynโ€™s pale bloodless face appeared in front of her eyes and Ash shuddered, trying to get rid of the whole feeling of death breathing over her. And if that was not enough, the Principal made her blood boil with his next announcement. Her name appeared on the list with several others and she was supposed to stay in this smelly place.

The rest of the crowd started to pile up and Ash jumped up. โ€œExcuse me, sir! Yoohoo, over here, Ashlynn Davenport, yes! Eastpoint High Jaguars have a practice in a bit andโ€ฆโ€

โ€œSit down, Miss Davenport, I told you toโ€ฆโ€

โ€œBut the practiceโ€ฆโ€

โ€œYou heard me. Thatโ€™s my last word. Besides, its morning so I see absolutely no reason for the Jaguars to have a practice so early. You really need to sort out your priorities, Miss Davenport. I assume you still want to win that crown, yes? You want to be a queen? I suggest you start behaving like one.โ€

Ashโ€™s jaw dropped and she wanted to hit the old man. Seeing Odette already making her way on the stage, the cheer captain stood up again, smoothed out her skirt and sashayed over there as well. โ€œSir, allow me one last comment. You know how the Jaguars always bring the national title home? Likeโ€ฆevery year? We do not do that thanks to sitting on our cute little behinds so yes, we practice a lot. Now, Iโ€™m gonna stay here for precisely ten minutes so I suggest you to get anything you need from me in that time. After that, Iโ€™m gonna go round up my Jaguars so we can give you another polished trophy you value so much at the end of the year. Does that sound good, Mr. Principal?โ€ Ash batted her eyelashes, knowing how the principal cared about the schoolโ€™s success. And the local cheer squad was definitely one to deliver. And Ash? She just knew which buttons to push.

Romeo Hawthorne
the prince
Sweet haze was taking over Romeo and as he found his friends and joined them on their walk to the auditorium, he was only savoring the buzz more. There was definitely more where those mints came from and a part of Romeo wanted to pop one more to make sure that he was going to last through the assembly in such a good mood but with the school crawling with the police, even the young heir was not bold enough to do so. And while he would be even willing to share his candy with Ryan and Blake, the small metal mint box remained tucked in the back pocket of his jeans for now.

โ€œThis is just bullshitโ€ฆโ€ he mumbled, shaking his head and looked up at Blake as he asked where Rome had disappeared. โ€œWent to make this a bit more fun. You should have come with me, good times were calling your name, bro.โ€ Rome laughed and pressed his glassy eyes into Blake. It had to be clear to everyone that the prince was everything but sober. How he managed to slip past the police, that was the real mystery here. The greatest one right after the million dollar question of who killed Evelyn Dermot.

Plopping down in the seat, Rome looked around, his eyes scanning the environment. Granted, his sight was now rather limited but he still could see a few familiar faces. Tay definitely looked uneasy and for a moment, Rome had to think whether it was a good idea to offer her a mint. His mind was once again back with the tin box and this time, hidden in the crowd, Rome could not resist and he pulled it out. โ€œHere. Have a bit of relax.โ€ he grinned, offering it to his friends and Ash. The cheerleader wrinkled her nose, refusing to even look at the rich boy and Rome waited whether his friends wanted some or nah.

But then the shit really hit the fan. The principal stepped onto the stage and presented his speech. With every next word, the frown between Romeoโ€™s brows deepened and when that old fucker read the names of people who were required to stay, Rome wanted to hit him. What for? It wasnโ€™t like the boy saw anything helpful. All he saw was Evie. Pretty in death. And the creepy doll in her hands. The same thing the police saw once they arrived. โ€œFucking perfectโ€ฆโ€ he grumbled, sinking deeper in his seat. โ€œWhat do they eve want from us?โ€ he asked, turning to his best bros, hoping at least one of them had a reasonable answer.

A small group was already heading towards the stage, led by none other than Odette Whittaker. โ€œFucking figures.โ€ Rome breathed. โ€œCome on or else sheโ€™ll curse us or something.โ€ Rome and Odette had this weird relationship and he was pretty sure the student body president despised him. Not that he cared. It was fun to poke her and provoke anyway. Standing right behind her, Rome mocked her polite words and posture, stifling a set of giggles. โ€œHow can we be of assistance, sir? Anything you say, we live to serve this place.โ€ he grinned, facing the strict principal as if nothing happened. โ€œWhatโ€™s up, Oddy? Is that broomstick too far up?โ€ he winked, drugs in his system allowing him to be bolder.

  • her eyes were now hitting the floor. she appreciated freddyโ€™s attempt to make her feel better, and laid her hand on his before letting a sigh escape her lips. she looked back at rome, who was now offering everyone his mints, and her anxiety sprang back.

how the fuck could he be so stupid?? right in the god damned middle of this place??
woah tay. calm the fuck down. he could easily get himself out of this. why are you so worried??

she snapped out of her worry induced frenzy and just glanced over at rome, before she let a small smirk pull at her lips. she wasnโ€™t used to getting this worried about him, but maybe it was because he was so gentle with her earlier, it just kind of got to her head a little bit. she also wasnโ€™t as high and carefree as she usually was now, so maybe she needed another mint.

now wasnโ€™t the time, though. when she got home, then she would let loose and smoke. but for now, she had to make rational decisions. then, romeoโ€™s voice broke her out of her thoughts.

as she stood next to odette, she heard a voice come up behind them and the words sent spikes down her back. she looked over, at the boy she was just thinking so fondly and caring of, and the slight smirk she had on her face earlier disappeared and faded into a frown, and a furrowed brow also took its place.

โ€œdonโ€™t say that to her.โ€ she sneered through gritted teeth, hushing him. she was visibly upset at this attempt to jab at her friend, and she was sure to make it known.

taylor was pretty much friends with everyone and got along with everyone she came across. she was an advocate for anyone that needed it, and thatโ€™s why she made so many friends. but when it came to friends of two different cliques, it meant that she would be more helpful toward the latter. and she was not about to have it from any of them.

"this is a dialogue."
as shit started to hit the fan and more of them gathered toward the stage, ryan heard his friend speak again, before glancing back at tay, visibly upset about something. she was probably worried about being questioned by the cops no doubt, especially since it was like she woke up with glassy eyes everyday.

โ€œhey, hand me one of those, bud,โ€ he said to rome, before taking one of the โ€œmintsโ€ he had offered and letting it dissolve on his tongue, sticking his tongue out and laughing a little bit. itโ€™d take about 30 minutes to work, so surely heโ€™d probably be done speaking with the cops and the now arguing with ashlynn principal. heโ€™d have a long, but fun ass ride home, thatโ€™s for sure.

โ€œwho the fuck knows,โ€ he whispered before continuing, โ€œitโ€™s not like any of us actually saw what happened anyway.โ€

he followed his friend and his sisterโ€™s other group of friends to the stage, and of course rome had some shit to say to odette. not like it mattered, anyway. he was always fucking with her.

โ€œdaaaaamn!โ€ he yelled, a set of chuckles coming from his mouth. then, his sister spoke, and the obviously frustrated taylor shut him up.

she wasnโ€™t her usual self, carefree, and honestly, high. he almost forgot that sober tay existed before now. it wasnโ€™t like he didnโ€™t fuck with odette, but around his sister, he wouldnโ€™t. he knew the two were friends and honestly, odette saved her ass with a lot of shit. like earlier.

kallista zabielski
the good girl
Kallie was not used to being in trouble, not by a long shot. Even though the rational part of her brain knew that she likely wasn't in trouble, hearing her name come out of the principal's mouth-- along with the names of her friends who she knew were innocent-- nearly caused her to have a heart attack right there. As the principal dismissed everyone but the people whose names he called, the auditorium exploded with sound when everyone stood from their seats to leave. Tuning everything else out, Kallie stood as well, following her friends to the stage and up the stairs. Unfortunately, she tripped going up them, crashing right into Blake, who just told her to get the fuck off of him.

Her face burned with embarrassment and she moved away from him quickly, moving to stand with her friends. One of her hands folded across her torso, grabbing her opposite elbow as Odette greeted the principal. Ashlynn was trying to negotiate and boss her way out of this, which didn't surprise Kallie in the slightest. Rolling her eyes, she shot Romeo a glare at his comment towards Odette, but Taylor was quicker to snap back at him. Ryan cursed and chuckled, but Taylor snapping at Rome shut him right up. "Can you at least act like you have some sense?" Kallie couldn't help but add, the words coming out of her mouth before she could stop them. "Somebody died, in case you forgot."

She had no idea what this meant for school, but right now, none of that mattered. She guessed they would talk with the police and then get sent home like everybody else, but what about tomorrow? The day after? Alot of kids would be afraid to return here, not that Kallie faulted them for that. Hell, she was more than a little afraid herself, drawing confidence from having her friends around her. And the police, because they were here to protect them, right? Her eyes shifted to an officer to came to stand next to the principal, thumbs tucked into his pocket and his belt full of the items that all officers needed: pepper spray, handcuffs, a gun. Shivering slightly, Kallie moved closer to the others.

"Each of you will be questioned. If you don't mind taking a seat here in the front row, we'll call you up one by one. We'll start with you." The officer looked at Odette, effectively dismissing the others. Kallie turned and headed back down the stairs, thankfully not falling down them, collapsing into one of the seats in the front row. "What do you think they'll ask?" Kallie asked out loud, her voice soft but loud enough that the others would hear. She'd never been questioned by the cops before, and even though that rational part of her brain was telling her again that she had nothing to worry about, that didn't stop her heart from pounding against her ribcage of her thumbs from twisting together in front of her chest.

Blake hadn't been able to stop himself from cursing out loud, causing more than a few people to look in his direction. He just glared at them, most of them looking away fairly quickly. When Rome offered the mint box, Blake was quick to take one of the "mints" and let it dissolve on his tongue. He was playing a dangerous game, considering he would likely be going home after this, but maybe he and Ash could find somewhere to kill some time. He'd make a quick call to his dad, tell him he was going to a friends house, and that would be that. As long as Kallie didn't snitch, which he doubted she would, especially not after all the times she'd come through for him and his friends. Not that that made him like her any better.

Everyone started to leave the auditorium, and Blake considered leaving as well, but he really didn't feel like being hunted down by the cops. So with a heavy sigh, he made his way to the stage with the others, walking up the steps. He didn't even notice Kallie was near him until she tripped and fell into him, causing him to shove her off. "Get the fuck off." He muttered, turning his attention back to the gathering group. He snickered at Romeo's comment towards Odette, and was about to actually add to it when Taylor sent her snark in Romeo's direction. "Damn, son." Blake held his hands up in a mock defensive gesture, but he glanced Ryan's way, nodding towards the two of them and smirking.

A cop came to stand by the principal, telling them to go have a seat, that they'd start the questioning with Odette. Blake just huffed and spun around, jogging back down the steps and plopping back into one of the seats. Hearing Kallie's question a few seconds later, he turned his head to look at her. "They might wanna know where you were last weekend." He told her seriously, before his lips broke out into a grin. "Oh, nevermind. I can answer that one. At home, like every other weekend." Chuckling to himself at his own joke, he nudged Romeo in the ribs and leaned back in his seat. The cop onstage didn't move Odette from their line of sight, just moved her back into a chair. Then he sat in one opposite her, beginning the round of questions.

Blake was sure they would ask what she saw, where she was, all the normal questions that he'd seen cops ask in those cop shows. Though he doubted any of them had anything to do with it, they were among the first to see the body. Hell, didn't Freddy have the key to that room or something? He had like, half the keys to the school somehow. Leaning back further in his seat, Blake sighed and leaned his head back, staring up at the ceiling. "This is crap." He muttered, looking over at Ashlynn on his other side. "You really gonna leave if they don't question you in ten minutes?" He laughed again, moving his hand to rest on her thigh. "You can always skip practice, and we can find a nice closet somewhere..."

Odette held back a sneer of disgust as Ash tried her luck in sweet talking with the principal to get out of the interrogation. She expected nothing less out of the cheer captain but still wanted to expect more from her nonetheless. You would think that after another murder taking place in the hands of the notorious town serial killer, in their own school no less, people like Ashlynn would want to cooperate. Perhaps she's just glad her main competition for prom queen is no longer in the picture. She stole a look at Kallie, motioning her eyes towards Ash's display like, "Can you believe this?"

Her judgement of the cheerleader between her and Kallie didn't last as Rome stepped onto the stage, feeling as if it would be fun to take a jab at her. It seems that their minor alliance for the sake of Tay wore off and he was back to his insufferable ways. This was getting ridiculous, and Odette's patience was truly getting tested by nearly everyone's incompetence. But before Odette could retaliate, mouth practically burning with the fire she was about to let out, Taylor had defended her. It caught the president by surprise as her cheeks lit up at the small, yet powerful act. Her face was stunned until she met the look in Rome's eyes and her expression grew into a smug smirk in his direction.

"Only friends call me Oddy."

She would have stuck out her tongue at the man too if she didn't see the police in the corner of her eye, who now stood alongside the principal. Redirecting her attention, she looked at the policeman. A coworker of her dad, Odette knew the man by face but not by nameโ€” not that anyone could blame her, ever since the first strike of the Porcelain Doll Killer, the police office have been mass hiring people in an attempt to keep the town safe.

Being the first one to be selected for the interrogation didn't worry Odette whatsoever, if anything she was glad to get it out of the way so she can go home with her friends, if she was lucky Freddy would offer a sleepover with her, Kallie, and Taylor.
"Of course, officer."
She gave a small smile and nod, glancing at her friends with confident eyes as they made their way off the stage and towards the front row. She walked closer to the officer, hands still gently clasped together.
"Ready when you are, sir."

"Don't be dick, she just tripped."
He muttered at Blake as he reached out to place a hand on Kallie's shoulder, giving it a gentle squeeze. Freddy and Blake were always in a different world from each other's but their worlds would always manage to merge when it came to Kallie. And although Freddy wasn't a man of action, he couldn't take the jock down even if he tried, but he stood his ground for the sake of his friends to whom he lead him and Kallie closer to on the stage.

As Ash continued on her futile negotiations with the principal, which Freddy did his best to tune out, he glared daggers at Rome.
"Real mature."
He said after Kallie. Freddy has been friends with Odette since he ever moved into this crumby town, and he didn't see why people like Rome would think it'd be funny to set her off. Especially when it was in the middle of an investigation between a dead classmate of theirs's. Admittedly, being friends with her for so long, Freddy knew how controlling she could get when it came to the smallest things but he thought that her control freak self was necessary at this point in order to give police at least some information to help catch the killer.

A look of concern was sent to Odette when Freddy heard that the police officer wanted to interrogate her first but he followed behind Kallie as they went down the stage and towards the front seats of the auditorium. About to answer Kallie's question, his thunder was stolen by Blake who then proceeded to make jokes. Freddy huffed.
"Lying to the police wouldn't be a good idea. It'll only make you sound more suspicious if they find you out."
He sat beside Kallie, stealing one more glance up at Odette who was sitting next to the officer, getting her round of questioning.
"They'd want to know about the discovery for sure."
Freddy shuddered, remembering the exact moment he unlocked the lab room and twisted the doorknob, unaware of the horrors behind it. Taking a sip of his juice box he motioned Tay over to the free seat on his other side.
"It's still so surreal that this all happened..."

There was a part of Freddy that expected to see the prom queen runner enter the very doors of the auditorium, claiming it was all a joke and that they'd be seeing her at school the very next day like nothing happened. But that wasn't the case, he'd probably see her body bag if the police doesn't clean it up in time the whole interrogation was over.

"You okay, Tay? Kallie and I didn't get to see you after the whole... thing."
Freddy was able to not get Kallie to leave his sight after the body discovery and got to catch up with Odette. Tay on the other hand seemed to have herself pre-occupied by all sorts of things when they met up with her.

Ash Davenport
the cheerio
This whole situation was becoming preposterous. Ash was not used to being treated like the rest of the school. She was royalty, after all. And all this time, her chirpy voice and a few smiles were enough to get her way with the principal. And look at him now, he decided to keep them in the auditorium forever and she was going to miss the practice. If such a thing happened, it would be the very first time the redheaded cheer captain actually got in trouble. Never in a million years her pretty little head would tell her that the circumstances were understandable. She saw a dead body, gross, true. But it would still not stop her from living her life. If Evelyn Dermot was dumb enough to get caught, thatโ€™s on her!

Apparently though, Ash was stuck here with the rest of the โ€œsquadโ€ and not even her long and tiring speech helped her. While the talk about earning trophies and securing prestige for the school would work before, the principal was apparently set out to destroy her life. With a huff, she left the stage and plopped back in her seat with arms crossed on her chest. โ€œThis is unreal, I swear.โ€ she mumbled and shook her head, watching everyone slowly pile out of the auditorium.

Ash was not used to being said no. It was a simple precedent that she always got what she wanted. Maybe Odette was the student body president but Ash considered herself a real queen among the folk of the Easthaven Point. People loved her, adored her, asked her for favors. Even Freddy the nerd was doing her bidding. Ashlynn Davenport was SOMEBODY here and people wanted to be around her, they wanted to be friends, they wanted to make all her wishes come true. That was the simple truth. And now, she tasted the rejection for the first time ever and truthfully, she hated it. It was bitter and smelled like losers.

Blakeโ€™s eyes found her as she pouted. โ€œYou really gonna leave if they donโ€™t question you in ten minutes?โ€ he asked, laughing. Ash jerked her head to the side, her own hazel brown eyes sparkling. โ€œYes. I have stuff to do and I donโ€™t have time to sit around the smelly auditorium. He dares to leave me here, me, the one person who puts this sorry school on the map? If this was the 18th century, Iโ€™d have him beheaded!โ€ she hissed and only Blakeโ€™s hand on her thigh calmed her down a tiny bit. Her cherry lips parted, spreading in a smirk. โ€œYeah? You gonna give me a better workout than the practice, lover boy?โ€ she purred, leaning closer. Her white pearls of teeth bit her lower lip and she stayed there for a moment, letting Blake smell the scent of roses her skin was covered in. โ€œLetโ€™s see what you got.โ€

Romeo Hawthorne

The whole situation was getting rather unpleasant and considering there was not going to be school today, Rome wanted to go home, get high in the pool house and just chill. Maybe his dude friends would like to go over there, they could just let loose and everyone else could fuck all the way off. God knew when the school was going to get back to normal and he was sure that this whole place was going to hear whispers about dead Evie for weeks now. It was already given and Rome would not be surprised if even the school events were cancelled because of that. There were a few people, like the redheaded tornado standing nearby, who would not be able to survive such misfortune but for what Romeo cared, they could cancel even the whole school for all he cared.

It was rather good question who was behind these murders though and Romeo wondered whether it was some random sick psycho or someone they all knew all too well. Apparently, his victims were always beautiful girls, never older than thirty. Rome had no idea whether it was any indicator or some sort of motive but thatโ€™s what he got out of it. After all, he was no detective, but wouldnโ€™t it be cool if they could solve it before the police? Yeah, his high head stored all kinds of thoughts right there.

After the principal said they should wait there, Rome groaned loudly and decided it was the highest time to distribute his mints. They were his private stash but this was a grave situation and it required desperate measures. Both Blake and Ryan were quick to grab a small pill and soon, it was going to send them all to Wonderland. Ashlynn looked like she was going to bring the place down with her rage but it was one more thing that Rome didnโ€™t care about. She was Blakeโ€™s responsibility after all. Girlfriend or whatever the two were.

His later comment on Odette didnโ€™t go unnoticed, of course. But surprisingly, it was Tay who yelled at him. โ€œJeez! Claws down, tigress, itโ€™s all just fun.โ€ he laughed, lifting his hands up. Odette had her own comment which made the prince turn to look at her again. โ€œAww, arenโ€™t we? Noooo, I was totally thinking we could play together.โ€ Rome spoke in a fake sad toddler voice and turned around to go join Blake. โ€œFucking shit, dude.โ€ he sighed, kicking his feet up on the seat in front of him. Soon, Ash joined them, all pissed and nervous and Rome closed his eyes to try and filter. Only a small smirk grew on his lips when he heard the comment from Blake. โ€œYou go get it, brother. You might even get a bit extra while sheโ€™s pissed off, isnโ€™t it right, Ashlynn?โ€ he laughed, not sparing a look at her. โ€œYou wouldnโ€™t know what to do with a girl like me, Romeo, even if she gave you the manual.โ€ she spat at him but then turned to Blake and Rome didnโ€™t take her words seriously. โ€œBitches be crazy, manโ€ฆโ€

  • as her eyes scanned romeโ€™s lips for a response, one that was hopefully an apologetic one, though she wouldnโ€™t let her hopes get too high because she knew how rome was. and then, the mock gestures of now only him, but blake as well started spilling from their mouths. she rolled her eyes, before smirking only slightly before her attention went back to odette.

โ€œiโ€™ve got your back,โ€ she murmured before she redirected her attention to the now awaiting police officer and stood up a little straighter when she heard that they would be taking statements.

    fuckin figures.

she then heard freddy from behind her, to which she replied, whispering softly. โ€œi just had to get out of there. sorry for leaving you guys so abruptly.โ€ she whispered to both kallie and freddy. โ€œare you guys okay..?โ€ she asked, before glancing at kallie. of course the girl was shaken up and she had no clue how to console her, but how could she comfort someone else when she couldnโ€™t even calm herself down without weed.

she sat down next to her friends and the waiting game of whoโ€™s next began. the time felt like it was going by so slowly, and by now the wrenching, aching feeling in her stomach came back again.

romeโ€™s words to ashlynn made ryan chuckle low, he raised a brow before smirking and whispering โ€œitโ€™s always the best when theyโ€™re angry. that shit gets you going,โ€ he said, before playfully nudging his bro and laughing while glancing and winking at blake. the high was just kicking in from the tablet he took earlier, and now the serotonin was flooding his brain, a warm and fuzzy feeling as people would call it.

unlike his sister, who it mostly made anxious toward the end, ryan was suddenly relaxed, and slumped in his seat, awaiting his name to leave the principalโ€™s mouth. he glanced over at his sister, who was oblivious to his high, and of course she was around the group of freaks that looked like they would be called the meddling kids riding around in the mystery machine.

he never understood why she was always around them. he knew his sister inside and out, like the palm of his hand. they were best friends their whole childhood. but he couldnโ€™t explain why she was so interested in such a brady bunch. freddy was someone that believed in mythical creatures and binge watched finding bigfoot, odette was like one of the sanderson sisters had a love child, kallie was so quiet it hurt to be around her. he never understood it. tay was always around the guys and ashlynn, why couldnโ€™t she just be friends with them? whatโ€™s the point of being a middle man? ryan shrugged the thought off, they were weirdos but they were still people, he guessed.

then, he heard ashlynnโ€™s comment to rome, and he had to put his two sense in. โ€œyouโ€™re right, ashlynn, but maybe itโ€™s because your manual was written in some foreign language that hasnโ€™t been discovered yet,โ€ he chuckled before rolling his eyes.

โ€œyou females are more complicated than car motors,โ€ he added, before slumping down more, laughing once more. these tablets were bringing out the uttermost dickish comments, and he was enjoying all of it. he then turned to blake, before grinning. โ€œyouโ€™ve got your hands full, bud.โ€
