Is there somewhere Bard might be or a duty he could be doing that would explain his absence from the scene? Such as talking to another group?

I think Jaydude is waiting on your answer to the above question ^. Maja doesn't have anything she wants to accomplish this scene, other than glowering at Icewalkers to make sure they don't get any ideas about trying to jump Kuaidao or Spider.

If you wish to try to offer up some convincing, decide on how you wish to try and give me a roll. I will say that he is not hostile to you guys, and seems to be more curious than anything else.
What level of Task would it be for Hallasan to believe Kuaidao and Spider's claims about there being a bigger undead threat than just zombies and hungry ghosts? I'm thinking of using his earlier statement about their willingness to risk their reputations as part of Kuaidao's argument: "We wouldn't throw away our standings just for a hoax!"
The armour and weapons that Kuaidao's referring to are Dauntless and the Guardian Host, both of which he acquired in-game. The battle was the one in which he rescued Maja, which took place in his backstory, after he Exalted.
