If my "Cyber-Knight Zen Combat" gives me:

Level Two: Paired Weapons: The Cyber-Knight can use a shield in concert with a weapon held in the other hand, or a pair of weapons, with equal skill. May use a man-made shield or Psi-Shield. Gets the W.P. Shield skill which provides a bonus of+1 to parry at levels 1, 3, 6, 9, 12, and 15. +1 to strike with a shield at level 4, 8, and 12.

Does that mean I have W.P. Paired Weapons?

WlfSamurai WlfSamurai I strongly believe so (that's how I've always taken that rule to mean). But here in game, only good ol' Sherwood Sherwood knows for sure. =)
Yes indeed it does!

WlfSamurai WlfSamurai Do you have any questions about the character creation process that we can help out with?

Also, is there any other items we will be picking up from Moloch? I don't want the game to fizzle due to indecision from us.

I'm still waiting to see what we can sell and how much we get for it; best to know what your finances are prior to spending.

I was thinking of some kind of silenced/suppressed powerful weapon for Snowfall in case we need to take out targets quietly. Maybe you guys want to join in on that route too?

I have to admit. This upcoming mission and the changes we've recently made are really bringing out other games in me. But I'm playing the right character for that! Having an ancient and very popular Japanese spirit (Inari) as a boss with you as a delivery guy with all of the Megaverse to deliver to can only have resulted in some incredible adventures!

Understandable. I guess that before I get too locked onto the idea of getting one, we need to decide on how many of what mecha we are selling.

Eron has one of the GB7s already, and Snowfall wants one, too. I say we dump all but a total of four of the GB suits (two kept as spares in case we run into some serious damage), and hire a good mechanic to ride with us in our Badger to keep the suits running smooth.

If we do that, it nets us 251 million. Divided three ways, that gives each player 83.6 million to play with. Does anyone have an objection to this?
These numbers are good to go with, assuming you wish to sell everything on your list.

WlfSamurai WlfSamurai How is your character design coming along? Any idea on how much more you have to do to get up and running?

Yeah, I need to finish my skills and pick psionic powers. Oh, pick my tattoos.

Honestly, I'm overwhelmed by the skills. I'm having a hard time sifting through what I want. It's part inexperience with what would be good in Rifts, part style in games, and partly the fact that usually when I sit down to look at it, it's like 10 PM or later. I'm really finding it to be a slog for some reason. Sorry...

Having to pick the Psionic powers and tattoos after only add to that feeling, unfortunately.

I needed to choose 2 physical skills, so I choose HtH: Kendo, figured that would fit the sword fighting and all. Then, for the bonuses I chose Boxing. I took a third—Acrobatics—but I'm not sure it's the right one.

Now I need to take 3 W.P.s. I know I get a couple from Cyber-Knight Zen Combat training. But, I'm not sure which would be most useful. I'm thinking some kind of rifle or pistol training...

I guess...I need help. Sorry...

Its post #5077
Thanks! =)

Psychie Psychie I'm totally cool with this. Silanon Silanon Sil?

WlfSamurai WlfSamurai Sorry? Why on Earth should you be sorry? Wlfsamurai!

1. You are not holding up the game.
2. You are not inconveniencing anyone.
3. You are trying to create for yourself and us a long-lasting Character in a gaming world you are brand-new to.
4. And you also appear to be giving it your all!

Think that's easy? Think anybody can do it?

A buddy of mine told me something recently. It fits here too, WlfSamurai. "Don't sell yourself short."

You have nothing to be sorry about, friend. Get rid of that. Embrace what you're making with the understanding that the more you like it, chances are high that it'll be the more we like it too! Memories make the games. When you look back at your previous games, what do you remember about them?

What you are creating now, in this moment, is adding goodness to what we will remember together. And I thank you for your efforts.

Honor and fun,
Dann

Fine by me, I'll find a use for all that money eventually.

WlfSamurai WlfSamurai Dann said it better than I could - not much more to add. In general: Don't sweat about the wps too much, I have half a dozen that I never used. As long as you can use your main weapon, you'll be fine. Might want to consider something like Quick Draw if you have free slots.

Lets start out with suggestions for your tattoos.

I would start out with Invulnerability. Its expensive to activate, but it gives you 75 MDC per level, and each new tat gives you 6 more PPE and 10 SDC.
Heart with Large Wings (Flight) for 20 PPE. It will give you a flight speed of 120 mph.
The Heart with Tiny Wings (Super Speed) is cheaper than the flight one at 10 PPE, and it will give you a decent movement power with a low cost.
Power Matrix (Energize Tattoo) will double the duration of your existing tattoos, and it gives you an additional 10 PPE per level.

There are others, but those are the ones I'd go with.

For your psi powers......
If you look in the Lore tab, you'll see Enhanced Reflexes. It is a awesome power that gives you an additional attack per melee round and it only costs 10 ISP.
the Sensitive powers of See Aura and See the Invisible are both great.
Mind's Eye gives some nice bonuses.
Machine Ghost is useful.

For your skills, I'd go with Gymnastics over Acrobatics. That skill gives a few better bonuses than Acrobatics.
EDIT: Nevermind. I see you get Gymnastics in your OCC Skills.

WP Shotgun is a great one to get, especially with you heading south into Vampire central. The Big Bore series of shotguns can do some good damage to a typical target, but when loaded with wood or silver rounds, they will shred a vampire big time.

WP Energy Pistol and Energy Rife is a must if you don't already have them. WP Sword is good, too.

Don't forget that you get two ancient WPs and two modern WPs in your OCC skills that you get to fill.

BTW, I just noticed that on October 4th, this game will have been running for three years. Wow. Time flies, right?

Sherwood Sherwood Hey! I've forgotten how you're handling bolt-action rifles, bud? Are you doing it like W.P. Rifle/Shotgun where bolt-actions fall into this W.P. while automatics fall under W.P. Automatic Rifle? Or something else? I'm asking just in case WlfSamurai or any of us have an itch for those guns.

Also, WlfSamurai WlfSamurai ? W.P. Targeting is a beautiful Skill if you like one W.P. that covers a great deal of ground. In Psychie's Rifts game, my Character Ridge has both Targeting and W.P. Paired Weapons. In tough situations, I'm thinking of throwing two grenades (or whatever thrown weapon types, bricks, freshly-baked pies, small bad guys even?) in one Attack and seeing how that goes. Do you think that's up your alley?

W.P. Heavy Mega-Damage Weapons. For really bringing the pain to the bad guys (especially for those with high P.S. scores), maybe consider this W.P.? It covers all kinds of big guns otherwise unusable.

Good luck character-building and have fun! =)

Firstly, amazing you guys have been playing so long! Effing awesome.

Second, thank you ALL for the kind words and help. You guys are awesome. I can't wait to get into the game proper. Your passion for it is infectious. Really looking forward.

Third, those are really helpful suggestions and I think will get me over the hump of my analysis paralysis. And considering it more, I want to shift focus and start actually making choices that support my concept. I enjoy that more in general for games and I think that will really get it moving and exciting.

I was really worried about making sure he's effective as part of the team. But, instead, I will choose what feels right thematically. And THEN, if I chose crap and something would work better mechanically, you guys can let me know.

That's usually how that works, yes - one only gets the benefits of the best HtH training.

Don't worry about efficiency too much - I have a hard time believing that a cyber knight would ever not be able to leave a mark. And we'll let you know if something seems completely off, no worries. Looking forward to what you're putting together!

Also: Three years already? Doesn't feel like it, does it? Then again - a lot of stuff has happened. Looking forward to what else we'll get to see!
