paige was often described as ‘the smile that lit up the room,’ or ‘the it girl’, a woman that was always approachable, friendly, and someone who was always wanted and appreciated. an upstanding citizen, humane. all of which, are undoubtedly true. paige has always been kind, since she was younger she’s always been surrounded by a supportive group of friends, so she wouldn’t have any reason to be selfish or mean spirited, right? but there are things much deeper that lie beneath the surface that make up paige’s personality. sure, on the outside she’s always smiling, a charismatic woman with a wicked sense of humor. albeit, they always say that the most smiling faces mask a dark mind. a mask, a facade, put on every single damn day.

to most, paige would be viewed as the atypical girl next door. but what happens behind closed doors? we see a very troubled, anxiety stricken woman who pulls all-nighters, staring out the window and wondering why she was never enough. you would think, that with such a spotless reputation, how could she not be enough, right?

childhood trauma, low self esteem, drunken nights and purple encased eyes due to lack of sleep, a maniacal mind that doesn’t seem to stop running keeps her awake at all hours of the night. yet she wakes up every morning and with a bit of concealer, she is the same as yesterday and nobody knows what she’s going through. she’s not the type to push her troubles on to everyone else, the type to keep her real emotions hidden and let her laugh put her peers in a trance meanwhile, she’s screaming on the inside.

a listening ear who wouldn’t dare to kiss and tell, paige is someone that is an advocate, someone that is described to have the best advice, who can’t seem to take her own advice herself. she’s still rather outgoing, and pretty much wants to make friends with everyone she comes across. a caring, nurturing individual who will give her all just to wind up drained because she doesn’t know how to stop giving and start receiving.

though it seems a bit odd, her biggest fear would be never being the trophy child her parents always wanted.

growing up in a household where you’re expected to be perfect 100% of the time is never a healthy and productive household. though it may seem as if her parents were doing right by her and she needed a disciplined hand to be raised properly. paige grew up in a household where she was the middle child of three other children. her two siblings, an older brother, and a younger sister, were always treated different. on one hand, her older brother was held at a standard that was unreachable for his taste, so at the age of 18, he moved out. on the other hand, her sister, who has always been treated the fairest, the baby of the family who was eventually spoiled rotten. we now see paige in the middle, who was pretty much neglected emotionally, who was never asked what was wrong with her and always expected to be on her p’s and q’s.

of course, being a noble has it’s perks. physically, paige was pretty well set in life and her parents bought her everything she wanted. but what they didn’t do was be an emotional vessel for the woman that was told that if everything she did wasn’t perfect, she would be shunned and the royal party would consider her failure.

starting from the age of four, they always sent paige to the most notable and prestigious schools, where they would constantly work to ensure that she would be the grade a child. sure, this was pretty standard parenting, but the neglect of her mental health soon took a turn for the worse by the time she was sent to windsor academy. if it were her choice, she would’ve probably been out traveling the world by now, a slight break from all of the schooling that was honestly detrimental to her mental health.

Parker is a kind girl, though she’s rather anxious when it comes to anything that’s being graded or watched, she isn’t competitive with any of it. Instead, she always wishes good luck to others and hopes for the best for herself. She has a fear of performing, which can be traced back to her reading a poem in front of her elementary class and tripping over the small stage onto her face, since then she hasn’t gotten in front of people to do anything other than play the piano, and even that takes guts. Though Parker does have anxiety, she sticks up for her friends and what she knows is right, but if it comes to an argument or a fight she’ll back down rather quickly, even if that is cowardly. Overall, Parker is a sweetheart who had a kind of rough childhood even if there are people who have had it worse than her. She tries her best to be kind to everyone all the time but does have a tendency to take things personally even if they aren’t meant to be.

Born to a loving father and a, well, controlling mother, Parker Elyse was destined to have an interesting childhood in Wales. As a child, Parker was always told she had to be perfect: perfect grades, perfect clothes, and most definitely perfect at whatever activities she decided to pursue. Being a child though, she was always changing her mind about what activities and extracurriculars she wanted to be a part of. At first it was soccer, then it was writing, but when Parker turned ten and found the piano there would be no more changing her mind, not with her mother so involved.

For the first few years of playing the piano, Parker loved it just as much as her mother did, but by thirteen she was becoming burnt out. Her father took note and tried to explain to his daughter that quitting wasn’t the answer and that she just had to find her love for it again. That’s when the songwriting began. She’d found her love for music just like her father said and combined it with another old passion of hers, it was the perfect solution!

Not for her mother though. Parker’s mother thought the idea of songwriting and singing were ridiculous and improper, especially considering the real world applications of them were slim to none. Parker came downstairs one day to find her mother burning her songbook and was devastated. She decided then and there that she’d quit the piano all together, only then her parents divorced and her father left them.

While Parker’s father wanted to bring her along with him, her mother threatened to sue him for custody and suck him dry of everything he owned. He couldn’t afford it, no matter how much he wanted to be there for his daughter, and so he left with a swift goodbye. As soon as he left, even though Parker had quit, her mother was a manipulative and spiteful woman. “Why do you think your father left?” She’d ask coyly, leaning over the piano as Parker sat in the next room in silence. “He told you quitting wasn’t an option.”

To Parker, it seemed like it was her fault her father left, all because she quit playing the piano. She could bring him back though, she just had to start back up again. Only now she really hated it, she hated it because of all of the memories it brought up of her mother burning her songbook and her father leaving them. It caused some resentment and even more anxiety, because if she wasn’t perfect there was no way her father would come back to her.

Still, she continued practicing well into her teenage and early adult years, and after her mother mailed in applications all around the world, the prestigious Windsor Academy accepted her for her incredible piano skills. She was beyond excited to finally get out of the house, however, it still meant she’d have to play the piano, in fact music would be the main focus of her education. She loved music, but the piano was so tainted for her that she had grown anxiety around it as well.

While Parker isn’t treated for her anxiety, it’s very obviously there and something that should probably be checked out. Her mother would never allow it though, after all, her daughter has to be perfect. Considering she’s the one paying for Windsor, Parker can’t step a foot out of line, she’s too scared. What she can do though is begin writing songs again, now that she’s away and has her own dorm songwriting has come back to her and the words are practically flowing from her fingertips.

Since being at Windsor Academy, Parker grew close to Professor Scott as he could see the anxieties she was having during tests and even performances. She would have lunch in his office every once in a while and he was one of the only people she felt she could open up to, in all honesty, he was like the father figure she’d lost. And now, she’s lost it all over again.
