Shit, yeah I did. I got caught up with Sigrdrífa's attack. Thank you for pointing it out, Random Word Random Word .

Okay, so for that one, jaydude jaydude , she has these intimacies based on what you asked:
Major Tie: Sigrdrifa (Love/Lust)
Major Tie: Toun (Friendship)

Also, help me out here. The read intentions action doesn't really seem to cover lying or truth. Perhaps I should just state if you see she's being truthful based on your stats and you'd have to read intentions to discovery why or if it's based on certain intimacies you're looking for?

Read Intentions can determine a person's intentions for the scene, and it's a hop skip and a jump from there to generalizing to intentions for a given action. It is a bit of a hole, that not being explicitly spelled out.

Yes, true, I suppose. The scene bit was how I was rationalizing just saying if you see she's lying or not and then you can read to tell what she wants out of the scene.

But, instead, we'll just extend it into telling truth vs lie as well.

Appreciate the input.

Well, we shall see! Btw, it's it getting close to time for some more xp? One can never have too much xp.

"Moooooom, can I keep her?"

"No honey, Abyssals aren't pets, they're apocalyptic threats to Creation and inimical to all life."

"But she's so cuuuuuute! I promise I'll teach her the true meaning of friendship, and clean up after all her resonance explosions, and meet her sudden but inevitable betrayals with empathy and forgiveness (Oh those wacky Abyssals and their high jinks)."

Sigrdrífa's not hung up on Embrace being a creature of death. She grew up with creatures of death. She's hung up on Embrace declaring herself Sigrdrífa's enemy. For her, this is personal, not a grand fate of Creation issue. Explaining you can use the light of the sun to redeem her soul won't get you very far because it's solving a problem you care about but Sigrdrífa doesn't. Someone (Afureru, Embrace, whoever) would need to persuade Sigrdrífa that Embrace wasn't saying what Sigrdrífa thought she was saying. Embrace has hinted at it, with the talk of things being outside her control, of a nebulous and menacing something else making her do things, that she will be an enemy the next time they meet, etc, but Sigrdrífa's not really in a state of mind to read into subtlety and nuance. If she's told directly and very persuasively that Embrace wasn't saying she's Sigrdrífa's enemy right now, but instead that if she's allowed to leave something will make her Sigrdrífa's enemy, then Sigrdrífa would be fine with letting Afureru keep her as a pet.

Afureru isn't the most socially adroit or perceptive, but Sigrdrífa is also basically an open book, so if you want to take that information into account and edit Afureru's persuade attempt I think it's fine. Afureru has a 50/50 chance of reading Sigrdrífa if she stunts to double her RI pool and we can say the coin toss went your way. Or Embrace can do the persuading, since she seems considerably more perceptive if she figured out in the brief time she's been here that Zoya was where she ought to be looking for a redemptive saviour.

Without some kind of binding artifact or spell I have no idea how you're going to keep her around - let alone reasonably well behaved - for any length of time while we're travelling through a massive Shadowland. Sorcerous Workings solve all problems?

Zoya's definitely going to be working seriously on Embrace's Intimacies if we decide to let her live, but as I've said in the main thread, she's not willing to fight for an apocalyptic threat to Creation. If she knew the dynamics of Monstances and Abyssal reincarnation, she might, but that's also something that's much more likely to happen if we keep the monster around.

Uh-huh. Someone has to do something about that defining infatuation for a probably-Deathlord, and it certainly won't be Sigrdrífa's barely functional social skills.

Lol I'm not sure Affy is smart enough to be that perceptive. Its like two monkeys fighting over a shiny rock.

I think I could make an easy enough stunt to RI. Drawing on the similarities of their mindsets and general attitudes. Could word it pretty well. And if it comes to persuasion, presence would definitely be how Affy would go. Though failing that we could always fight it out again.

Affy would just suggest breaking her legs and arms repeatedly. They'll heal back.

In Afureru's defense, she doesn't normally leave people alive. It's generally "join me or die". She has all the subtly and sharpness of a boulder.

Likewise, been alternating between being busy and exhausted. I'll try and jump into this and a few other IC threads soon.

Here’s the best part. Embrace’s Intimacies and internal conflicts are such that I’m not sure as the ST I know what she’ll do next. She really feels like she has a will of her own in my head. Haven’t had an NPC like that in a long time. I love her.

And she’s probably going to die in the next 3-5 seconds. Kill your darlings, right? “Look through crosshairs,” and such. 😀

I think I’m going to roll to see what she does, honestly. I don’t think I can decide. The options that come to mind:
  1. Give in and LITERALLY ask Sig to kill her right now. (Dead)
  2. Go hostile and try to fight back as a way to have a warrior’s death. (Dead)
  3. Try to convince Sig she’s not Sig’s enemy—which will probably fail. (Dead)
  4. Plead with Affy to save her—which will trigger Sig to end her. (Dead)
  5. Invoke The Blackened One as a last ditch effort to do something useful for her master. (Dead)
That’s what I have off the top of my head…
