“ I see no harm in letting you see them, though how about we both finished getting settled in first then your more than welcome to come over and take a look at them. This way none of them are too stressed out about being moved to a new location. If I could I would bring all my animals with me but I don’t think the school will allow that since I have more than just these three.” She said with a smile. Taking her time she walked over to the massive fridge and placed some of her food that she had been holding while they talked. She placed sever containers in then placed two cartons of rocky road ice cream in the freezer.

“oh just to warn you if you need food when you run out ask and I can give you some if not you will get a nasty surprise and it might be some thing that you don’t like… I have no problem sharing my supplies if you needed.”

As Shizune was finishing upacking all of her stuff and decorating her room a bit, she felt a little more at home. All she had left to do was put a poster of Starry Night on her wall. Despite not being into art or paintings very much, she had a high appreciation for pieces that were able to convey emotion through rather simple symbolism. She took some tape that was in her bag, and plastered the poster on her wall. As she looked around her room, she let off a sigh of satisfaction. She was ready to just lie in bed for the rest of the day, but then she remembered what her mother said. "Shizune dear, as your gonna be leaving us I want you to make some friends with your fellow classmates for emotional support. I couldn't imagine going a whole three years all alone," Her mother told her. And while Shizune really could've gone a whole year without friends, she decided to try to listen to her mother's word. It was the least she could do when she was away from home.

Shizune exited her bedroom, in hopes of finding a new friend. As she was walking around the dorms, she found a shorter girl with blue hair. "Alright I can do this," Shizune told herself. She took a deep breath, as she tapped the blue haired girl's shoulder. "Hi, my name is Matsunagi Shizune..." She said to the girl in a low voice, trying to avoid eye contact. She had readied herself to socialize but was still shy as ever.

Shoko was looking around the dorms when she heard a voice. "Nice to meet you! I'm Sasaki Shoko, I'm assuming you're one of my classmates from 1-A" She greeted the girl in a calm voice. She knows how hard it can be to make new friends so she wanted to come across as friendly. Wanting to know more about her she asked the more generic but informative question, in her opinion, "What's your quirk?" Shoko loved hearing about other people's quirks, and she assumed the diversity of quirks in UA would be massive. Most people don't really share a quirk with someone famous so if the girl asked Shoko about her quirk in return, she had a feeling most would recognise her quirk from her villain brother, but she was determined to not let anyone know she was related to him. Shoko smiled sweetly and waited for the girl's response to her question.

Opus Opus

Shizune almost didn't want to answer that question, as she didn't want her potential friend to be let down by her quirk. "It's nothing too special," Shizune said. She was hesitant to continue that sentence at first, but decided that if she was going to be a hero, she had to at least make an effort to communicate. As she anxiously gulped, she continued, "Pretty much, it lets me possess a mask that I wear and the mask is able to fly while I'm possessing it." She folded her arms while looking away. It was like a subconscious defense mechanism to protect her from any critisms that Shoko had on her quirk. She barely told people about it...perhaps it's because she had barely anyone who she could talk to about it. Wanting to possibly shift the conversation away from herself, she asked Shoko "So um...what's your quirk?"

kakemha kakemha

"Woah, that's a really cool quirk compared to mine. I can't wait to see it in action!" Shoko said to the girl. She could see she wasn't all that confident so boosting her ego wouldn't be bad for anyone. But Shoko wasn't lying, she really thought her quirk was super interesting. Seeing as she asked about her quirk, Shoko answered the question. "Oh, my quirk is Mind Link. Basically I can talk to people through their minds, or even read their thoughts, but I don't really use the latter that often." She told hoping she wouldn't bring up her brother, but a girl can only hope since he as infamous. Deciding to demonstrate her quirk a bit, Shoko mind linked to Shizune and spoke in her head, "See, like this, it's pretty useful for secret missions." She was excited to see how the girl reacted to this.

Opus Opus

Shizune was a little startled, and let out a soft gasp. She had her hand over her mouth in shock. She began to smile a bit. "That's a cool quirk," she told Shoko. Shizune wished she could have demonstrated her quirk as well, but she felt as though she'd come off too headstrong and that it'd be a bother. From the way that Shoko was talking to her, and how they were getting along, she began to feel as though, she had a chance at a social life. Maybe, just maybe, she'd be able to have people to trust and talk to about her day, just like how she did at home. To keep the conversation going, Shizune asked her "So you can read minds...does that cause any trust issues with the people around you?" She asked. She had a feeling that a mind reading power would hinder someone's ability to make connections, although she didn't really mind that Shoko would be able to read her mind. After all, she didn't have much to hide. She was interested in Shoko's response.

kakemha kakemha

"Trust issues due to my quirk? I haven't had that happen to me yet. Most of my trust issues come from other things." She responded to her question. It was actually helpful sharing a quirk with her brother, they didn't develop trust issues because of their quirks, it was because of other things. Shoko decided to to return the question, but tweaked it to fit her quirk. "How about you? Does your quirk give you any problems?" She was eager to hear Shizune's response, because if it did cause her problems, she was curious on how since Shoko couldn't really think of a way she could. But then again. she could be mistaken.

Opus Opus

She was quite surprised by her answer. "Well I'm happy it doesn't cause any problems for you," she responded to her. As for any problems her quirk caused, she couldn't really think of any. Until she remembered when she first found out about her quirk. "Well there was this one time when I had used my quirk for the first time. My parents thought it may have been an evil spirit that was residing in the mask and panicked, but later on discovered that it was just my quirk. Other than that, it hadn't caused many problems," She told her. As grateful as she was that her quirk isn't very problematic, she didn't have many interesting things to say about it and how it's affected her life. Shizune wanted to keep learning about her new friend, but didn't really know what to say. She started twiddling her thumbs, thinking of what else she could ask. Then, a lightbulb went off in her head. She asked Shoko "so how is your family?"

kakemha kakemha

“A-ah! Family.” Shoko was slightly thrown off by the question but deflecting it would make her look weird. “Well, my family’s alright.” She said, it wasn’t an complete lie, her mother was doing fine. Wanting to the get the unwanted question of her back, she decided to ask Shizune the same question. “How about your family? From what you said about the, finding out about your quirk, they sound pretty funny.” She told Shizune as she speculated. She awaited her answer, hoping the topic of family would go away.

Opus Opus

Shizune smiled, she was glad to think about her family. "Yeah, they're pretty funny. They'll overexaggerate things and freak out over the smallest thing. But they have good intentions behind all the things they do and say. But they're all the family I have." Shizune thought back to how her parents reacted when she told them she wanted to be a hero. They rejected the idea because they wanted to keep her safe, not to squash her dreams. She realized that over time, her parents realized that she was becoming a hero for them. She wanted her parents to have a daughter they'll be proud of. "I'm really close to my parents," she said. "They're part of the reason why I became a hero." Shizune, looking back on moments with her family, began to get lost in a daydream for a bit. She promptly got back to her senses, and began to feel embaressed. "I'm sorry if I went off on a bit of a tangent..." She apologized. "I don't really know what else I should ask you...is there anything else you wanna know about me?" Shizune asked.

kakemha kakemha

"It's fine, I honestly go on tangents too sometimes." She admitted, chuckling at the end of the sentence. "It's nice that your close with your parents." She said, Shoko herself was never all that close to her parents, so she couldn't really relate. Then a question popped into her head, "Oh, what's your favorite food?" She loved anything food related, she herself like to cook actually. She wondered if she could cook Shizune's favorite food. Shoko's mother taught her how to cook ever since she was young. That reminded her, she eventually needed to buy some ingredients for herself. She preferred homecooked meals than ordering food online. She made a mental list in her head about the food she needed to buy and how to budget her allowance accordingly. She did this all while waiting for Shizune's answer.

Opus Opus

Shizune didn't really know how to answer, for she never really had a kind of food that she'd deem as her favorite. Thinking to herself, she was able to remember one dish that stood out to her. "Apple pie," she answered. Although she only had it once, she did enjoy it very much, which is telling of how much she enjoyed it. Perhaps she'd be able to have it again at the school, she thought to herself. She decided to ask Shoko the same question. "And what's your favorite food?" She asked her. Shizune was quite interested in what Shoko had to say.

"Oh, right. Sure!" Rihi agreed. He knew what it was like to have a pet be in a snippy mood (specially since Pandora's moods could be classified in 'bad mood', 'worse mood', 'you come near me you die', and occasionally the rare 'I shall tolerate your presence, you lowly peasant'), and wouldn't want to disturb Asuka's animals if they were still getting accustomed to their new environment. Maybe some day after class. He'd suggest tomorrow, but he had no idea what class would be like or if they were going to get heaps of homework, so better not make specific plans just yet.

"You have more? Your house must, look like a zoo." He followed her to the kitchen and stored away his can, mentally chastising himself for having forgotten earlier. "Thanks, for the offer. I'll keep it in mind," he gratefully said. He bred his own feeder insects, but who know what could happen. It was always better to have a back-up plan. And it got him wondering, would Pandora eat a mouse? She was pretty big, and it would be a good source of protein. He'd be sure to ask Asuka if she could share one of Blacky's at some point.

But really, it still amazed him just how large the kitchen was. The school cafeteria provided all students' meals, but even if they didn't, it looked like there'd be more than enough space to accommodate what twenty people would eat in a week. "What do you think classes will be like?" he asked, checking a blender that was unplugged and sat next to the oven. Five different settings. Really, UA didn't spare any expense.

“ You’re not wrong there my parent work at a wild life sanctuary and would some times bring them home. When I was younger they would take my little brother and I to help out with the animal are. Since my dads quirk allowed to fly he is able to help in some degree with birds with wounded wings that need to be rehabilitated. My mom is able to manipulate some liquids like water or baby food when needed to help a sick animal that was too weak. On the side we rescue animal that have been neglected or illegal. Once they are healthy we would find new homes for them if they were illegally owned animals they were taken to a local zoo where they could have a safe environment. Truthfully that how I got Scarlett and Loki their previous owner bought them for some reason but had them seized due to animal cruelty. Now Blacky she was surrendered to us because the previous owner had bought her off the underground market with out having the proper paperwork. So we had go through some channels and paper work so that I could keep her since she is a non native species to Japan… Also I will be in 1-A when this school year starts. “ she said as she began to mark her food boxes in a way that told her if some one messed with her food or not. She in the process set her hidden traps of hidden ground Carolina reaper into her dish knowing some one would be feeling the worlds hottest pepper after they ate her stuff while her ice cream was laced with laxatives. She could not help a mischievous grin from appearing on her face.

Rihi listened to Asuka's explanation, amazed of the kind of life she had. He'd only ever had Pandora, and that had been after a lot of begging and promising he'd take care of her, so he couldn't imagine what it'd be like to be surrounded by animals all day every day. It sounded like fun, but the responsibilities that must have come with caring for so many different species must have been enormous, too. But after going through all that, he had little doubt Asuka would be able to easily handle hero work, too.

Was she... smiling at the ice cream? She did say she had ways to give nasty surprises to food thieves... yeah, he'd never have stolen food from his classmates, but this all but cemented that position. "Me too. I've never been taught by a pro-hero before, so. I wonder what we'll learn here," he commented. Which reminded him. "Say, are your wings your quirk?"

Suzuki Toshio
Brightening even further Toshio grasped Tokino's offered hand in his own paw-like one. "Well it's nice ta meet ya Fujisaki!" He shook her hand for a moment then a corner of his mouth twitched. "Oh wait I said that already didn't I?" Releasing her hand he could see she wasn't exactly hyped up at being spoken to out of nowhere. "Sorry 'bout the ambush, lemme give ya a hand by way of apology, my quirk makes me a bit stronger than most." He hefted his own luggage in one hand by way of demonstration.

Regardless of whether she accepted the favour or not Toshio stuck with her and led the way to the dorm, after few minutes he took a longer look at her realising he had seen the girl before. "Hey, you were at the evaluation for recommended students weren't ya?" While he hadn't had to go through the extensive exams most of the students had there had still been a short test to make sure he was at least decently qualified to attend the school.

Entering the common area of the dorm Toshio spotted other freshmen milling about and decided he wanted to start out strong with the rest of the group. "'Sup guys! How's it goin'?"

"Yes they are... Okay you remember the pro hero Hawks right… will my quirk is similar to his.” She said as she stretched one of her wings around for him to have a feel before moving it back behind her once more.

“The difference I have is my wings and bone structure are very similar to that of birds just reinforced to some degree. I can not use my feather to move people out of the way or have them protect them unless I can encase with my wings like a shield by hardening the feather. Now if the feather (s) falls out while its hard I can then use it as a blade which depends on the length of the feather(s). The feather can very sharp in a real fight but since this is training I keep them dull to prevent nasty cuts for those that come in to contact with them .” She said as she explained how her quirk works as she finished arraigning her food in the fridge with her name showing on the front and top if the lids.

“ now pro-hero work I have some basic knowledge and some theory’s. I checked out the classroom before coming to my dorm room. Some of the things I saw are more advanced than what our old schools thought us as well as more in-depth…. She said before pausing realizing she has not asked him what his quirk was.

“By the way what is your quirk”

"Can I?" Rihi asked, waiting for Asuka's confirmation before touching the wing she extended towards him. His fingers easily sank into the myriad of feathers, the feeling soft but solid enough to carry a person's weight. He had seen videos of the Winged Hero before, just how fast he could be, and was awed about going to class with someone with a similar quirk. "That's so cool," he breathed. "I don't, know much about pro-hero work either. Makes me wonder what kind of classes we'll have."

He leaned back on the counter, about to answer the question when another student joined in. He was one of the boys Rihi had seen before, with the scorpion tail, and... were those cat ears? It was sort of puzzling why those two would coexist in the same body. "Um, hi!" he greeted, a bit intimidated by the way the other kid seemed to take over the room but not wanting to make him feel unwelcome. "I'm, Keibatsu Rihi, and. We were talking about our quirks," he explained. Looking down, he slightly raised an arm and activated his, concentrating to make the process slower and visible. White began to rise out of his wrist, growing into connected vertebrae, each becoming surrounding by muscle tissue and skin as they rose. In four seconds Rihi had a thin tendril that he waved around like a swan's neck, coiling this and that way. "I can, grow body parts. Or, more like, organic tissue." With a thought the tendril withered and vanished into nothing, as a thin layer of bone extended from the place it grew from to envelop Rihi's hand and arm in a bone armor. "Its, pretty adaptable, but. I need to really know about, the stuff I grow, or it can come out wrong," he explained, looking up shyly at Asuka before turning his gaze towards the other boy. "What's, yours?"

Asuka looked up as a new student that just walked in.

“Hello I am Yuki Asuka I will be in class 1-A” she said as she gave a light bow in greeting of the new comer before looking back at Rihi who was showing off his quirk in a slow motion. The way it more was as if it had its own life force before it vanished and bone took its place.

“That’s is so cool I have never see a quirk like this. Also there is a chance for quirks to evolve given the right circumstances. Though having a quirk to evolve is very rare and I have only heard of two people to have theirs evolve. From what is know it can take a life and death situation, a very stressed situation or both at the same time. Really its not fully understood why or how a quirk evolves. She said showing off a bit of her knowledge from books she had studied back home and even brought with her just incase she need them for research for a class project or something.

A shadow passed over the campus of UA, much too large to be a birds, but not high enough or big enough to be a plane. It easily soared passed the walls of the school, which would have been a problem had it not been for the fact that the owner of the shadow was one of its teachers of—now, a little over two years.

Jet Kaedos, having just gotten off his daytime hero patrol, glided in lazily toward the general area of the 1-A dorms, nictitating membrane sealed over his eyes to avoid irritation. Truth be told, he was excited—as he was every year. He loved meeting the new students, sometimes helping with their things... just interacting with the students, he decided, was something he loved about this job.

He banked to aim for the roof (mostly to avoid knocking over—or skies forbid squishing a student when he landed). After all, he came down rather hard, hindclaws hitting the surface with a distinctly loud thump before he managed to stabilize himself with a short few flaps of his—frankly too-long wings. He angled himself and walked—claws notably digging a little hard into the tiled roof to avoid slipping—toward the edge.

A sharp whistle signaled all nearby students to move out of the way before he dropped down to the ground, feathers rising and splaying.

Not long after, he ducked through the doors of the dorms, several of the students scrambling away. Honestly, Jet didn't blame them—a few of them barely came up to his waist. Now, all he had to do was not get di—

And, as was apparently becoming an annual tradition, he got distracted.

Because there, right at the end of the common room, slinking his way toward the individual dorms, was one Luca "Gray" Graymin. Bleeding.

Again.

A whistle—one with a different, softer pattern older students might note he reserved only for when Gray was being dense—sang above the heads of the students, not long followed by a tsk as Jet—in his hero "uniform" (if one could call his alternate form that), as always—picked his way across the body-filled floors with an expert grace that comes only from living with several people for most of his life.

"Gray," he called, phantasmic, whispering voice that sounded much more like a parrot mimicking a person than Jet really looked like he should, carrying just a bit too easily though the din. "What did we talk about?"

Gray was busy trying to convince himself that having to squint one eye to keep blood from getting in it wasn't that bad—he could deal with it once he got this box where it needed to go (not that he really would aside from simply wiping it away)—when a whistle met his ears. Not just any whistle, though, the whistle. Various B notes ending on a flat. Jet was disappointed.

His somewhat stuttered response was soft—barely audible in the crowded room—but, if the fact that the teacher always noticed when someone mumbled under their breath was anything to go by (and Gray had known him long enough to guess with some confidence that it was), Jet would have no problem hearing it. "I— uh, I put a band-aid on it." He gestured vaguely with his cargo (having to tilt his head back when he realized 'oh right, still full of sharp objects') toward the bandage, which... was doing about as much good as a sticker would to seal a leak in the Titanic. "It's not— it's fine. Just a scratch. You don't need to worry about it—it's not even close to a concussion this time." A smile too small to be anything but forced broke onto his face in a weak attempt at placating him.

"And I gotta— I'm supposed to... I got permission to set up today, so I should probably be going," He blurted, taking a stumbling few steps backward. "Y'now, best to stay out of everyone's way and all..."

It wasn't that he disliked Jet. In fact, he was probably one of the nicest teachers he'd ever met. He just... had a tendency to be a little, tiny bit overbearing—fussing over miniscule injuries and always worrying about his health, and as much as he had to admit it was nice knowing someone cared, that didn't make it any less disruptive. So he awkwardly scooted closer to the stairs (he had wanted to take the elevator, but the stairs were closer) in what he hoped would be a successful retreat.

...A hope that was lost the instant a blue-and-red shape at the top of the stack shifted, tilted, and finally fell off the side and down to the floor with the unmistakable clatter of an empty can. "Shit," he swore in English, "Uh- Okay, before you start lecturing: No one would let me have coffee."

Tokino let her mouth turn up in a soft smile at the boy’s flustered motions. Upon his offer to help her, she hesitated a moment. She watched as Toshio lifted up his own luggage in a display of his strength. This was the most shocking thing she’d seen so far- even if it was something as normal as someone using their quirk. Sure, she’d gotten into a school for heroes, and sure, everyone here had a quirk, but it hadn’t really registered that she wouldn’t be the only one with a relatively good quirk. This was UA. She then decided the boy’s offer was a innocent one, and allowed Toshio to accompany her to the dorms. Although, she was pretty sure he would’ve accompanied her regardless of if she’d accepted or not.

The walk was a relatively quiet one, to her relief, aside from a question Toshio would ask when nearing the dorms. She looked thoughtful for a moment- if he recognized her, was she supposed to recognize him? She scanned her memory briefly in attempt to identify his face, but came up rather blank. To be fair, she was mostly focused on getting in at the evaluation rather than checking out other people. She plastered a smile on her face before responding, “I was, though I wasn’t the best at the practical portion...” She knew the second part was pretty much irrelevant, but maybe it would jog her memory in remembering the guy from the evaluation.

She proceeded to follow him farther into the common room, her gaze hovering on the people and the location, taking a second to take it all in. The sound of heartbeats echoed around her, some slow, some nervously fast, others deep and some small and high pitched. There were so many- almost too many rhythms- and she had to remind herself to tune them out. When she popped back to reality, her escort had begun talking to other new students. Toki shuffled up behind them, just in time to quietly watching as one of the students, who’d introduced himself as Keibatsu, grew a tendril. It was quite the quirk, she would admit. She let out a low hum of interest as Keibatsu prompted Toshio to display his quirk. She’d already seen his strength, but she was curious to see if he possessed any other power with his seeming hybrid of animal quirks.

Suzuki Toshio
Carefully placing the double load of luggage on the floor Toshio joined a couple of students that had responded to his boisterous greeting. "Heya! The name's Suzuki Toshio, nice ta meetcha!" He chirped in response to their introductions getting a bit overexcited at meeting new people that didn't have the police or nearest hero agency on speed-dial in case he did something.

Watching Rihi grow an entirely new appendage out of his arm Toshio inwardly thought it a little creepy the way muscle grew over the bare bone followed by skin but he supposed he wasn't one to talk, he recalled a few times when people went 'aww how cute' upon seeing him when he was little right up until they saw his 'murder tail'. "Ah we talking quirks already? Well mine's a mutation, gives me a bunch of cat bits." He held up his furred hands showing off his paw pads and grinned showing his fangs. "And I also got this." He swung his tail around and flexed it slightly making the quills stand up slightly. "I can stick people with this or throw the spines to numb 'em up. Peeps tell me it's like some mythical creature called a manticore, except I only have one row of teeth."

Downing another health drink Kami finally reaches the UA and makes her way towards the dormitories with luggage in tow. She had honestly meant to arrive far sooner but from the moment she set foot in the city fate seemed to have other plans. First, there was that group of delinquents that tried to shake her down, then the statue artist that begged her to distract the crowd so he could move to take care of business, and then the little kid who got his special game preorder stolen. The final one would have been quicker if the thief didn't then get robbed, and that thief did not get robbed. In any case, she was here now, and given the grounds were mostly secure she was fairly hopeful her sidequests were going to be at an end for the day and she could get on with the main reason she was here. Adjusting her shirt slightly she finally steps through the doors into the common room, stopping for a moment to look around at the various people assembled.

Part of her wanted to try and make it through the crowds once more to get unpacked and rest but then again these were the people she would be spending the next few years with hopefully so she might as well make an effort if she could, the only decision was where to start.

Evolving quirks, huh? Rihi hadn't heard about it, and didn't know what the difference was between that and getting their quirk to manifest new aspects of it through training. Maybe something to do with the degree in which the quirk changed? He tried imagining what his could potentially gain, but all that came to mind was being able to keep parts separated from himself. For some reason, everything he grew with his quirk had to be in contact with Rihi himself - the second a part got separated, it withered and disappeared as if his quirk had deactivated. It made long-range attacks impossible, since any projectile he launched would vanish before even coming close to reaching its target, and was why Rihi had focused on close combat instead.

He noticed a girl coming in behind Toshio, and waved at her to make her feel included. She had black hair and red eyes just like him, but carried herself with a certain sort of dignity that he wouldn't be able to copy even if his life depended on it. What kind of quirk did she have? It must be a really strong one; either that, or her pretty figure hid some serious hidden strength.

Toshio explained his quirk, shooting them a fanged smile that looked like something out of a vampire movie. As the boy was showing off his tail, Rihi got the faint feeling he'd seen something like it before. Was one of Toshio's relatives a hero? The first thing that came to mind was The Scorpion King movie, but that had been an actor with special effects, and he was reasonably sure he'd seen it as part of an actual person. He realized he was staring a bit and quickly looked away, undoing the bone he'd grown over his hand so he could fidget properly. "That sounds, really cool. Isn't the venom dangerous?" As far as he knew, scorpion venom ranged from not very dangerous to outright deadly, and he wondered which kind the other boy had.
