cablebelly cablebelly just letting ya know that jude's skeleton cs is done! i'm sorry if the writing is a bit choppy, i was trying to keep it succinct but i am just way too wordy. let me know what you think & if anything needs work !

hey, just a heads up- i'll probably get the character skeleton up sometime today, but if it gets accepted, the full sheet might take a bit loner. my pup's sick with parvo, and that's probably gonna steal my attention for the next few days (βŒ―ΛƒΜΆα·„ ﹏ Λ‚ΜΆα·„βŒ―)
..nevermind

he unfortunately passed away last night :(

Holy smokes,
im so sorry to hear that. I know the pain of losin pets to old age and sickness but pops? man, whole different ball game. Again, real sorry to hear that and condolences to you and your family

oh gosh im so sorry to hear! thank you for letting me know, of course no pressure to finish anything, so sorry about your loss ):

thank you for your kind words, it means a lot. I'm trying to numb it a bit with homework and writing, so expect my skeleton to be up later today ( * ́꒳`*)ΰ©

everything looks good! really love the power, she's approved for the full sheet!

oh my goodness i'm so sorry to hear that )): my family has had pups pass away before and it's so damn heartbreaking. don't push yourself too much hun

everything looks good! really love the power, she's approved for the full sheet!
thank you! i'll hopefully get her full cs sent over by tonight c:

ok!! he's here!! we talked about but its easier to go over whats here since its put down so clearly so forgive if im backtrackin on some stuff. my mind is clear now lmao
so the one hitch i'm thinking is that if it was the army that pulled daunte's powers out of him, they'd probably go gung-ho and make a bunch more like him, which would lead to the tempest mantle not being quite the royal family you have it positioned as, and it'd also sort of change some of my lore up a bit. i'm thinking we just switch it from the government explicitly torturing the powers out of him to him discovering it during a tour and in the heat of battle or something like that. they capitalize on it and tempest becomes the government contracted superhero mantle it is today.
also -- is his sis at vochertepp right now? would love to play with that.
i definitely considered the powers coming during a tour as well. i wanted a program to sort of contrast the rpme and stuff but it totally makes sense if you have plans for that. i'll edit it.

also, yeah she's at vochertepp too haha.

ok, a lot more clear on the power here, awesome. i think my one question is what you mean by neuropathic problems in the weaknesses, id like some elaboration on that. otherwise, i think you can move on to the full cs.
I was thinking he would have nerve problems, but thinking about it more? I don't know if it makes sense? Originally it was meant to be sort of a lingering sensation left over when he uses his power. When he lets go, his nerves would still feel the painful sensations for a time even after giving the "true pain" back to its proper owner. What are you thoughts?

NAME:
Delano "Del" Morales Jr.

AGE: Seventeen

PERSONALITY:
Delano Morales is nearly as rigid and inflexible as the ice that he manipulates. There's an eerily cold sensation whenever the man is present, an intrapersonal one that sends shivers through you. Trained to be the epitome of excellence, greatness is all that is expected of Delano, it is all that he's ever learned to produce. All that he ever focuses on. The son of one of the most popular super hero families in the world, there is an immense pressure that balances over his shoulders.

The theft of childhood memories in exchange for a rigorous discipline has left Delano unattached from the citizens that he's been prepped to protect, void of any genuinely human emotions or connections. He's learned to execute whatever orders have been giving to him without question and excels in whatever course, exercise, or presentation is handed to him. His future has been prepared for him, and it is simply his duty to check off all requirements. He's been conditioned to equate his happiness with the scores of his results, giving him a very competitive nature that's been nurtured since childhood. Although a top student, he knows to never feel comfortable.

Rather judgmental and cold with first impressions, he busies himself only with those that paint his needed image/reputation, or might sharpen his skills in the training halls. Weakness is something internalized rather than acted on, only breaking past that icy and controlled exterior when there's a reinforced punching bag before him. Although articulate, when conversing with others, it's almost always like a predator circling it's prey. He's constantly on edge, constantly analyzing, and has never once had the chance to simply relax.

POWER: Cryokinesis - Members of the Morales family are known to have abilities related to air, water, ice and the storms that crash them all against one another. Delano was born with the innate ability to manipulate the moisture in the particles around him, more specifically decreasing the temperature of said particles and effectively freezing any moisture into ice. Easiest of which are the most basic elements, eg. air, water.

His abilities are psychokinetic and do not require physical touch to manifest themselves. Alas, the palms and digits are ideal points of the body to focus his mind and manifest said abilities.

Although most of his cryokinetic applications are not passive, the cold follows Delano wherever he goes. It is noticeably colder when he is around, and he thrives in sub-zero environments.

STRENGTHS: Perhaps his most commonly used application, Delano has the power to create tools, objects, barriers, and weapons with his cryokinetic abilities. Progressively getting colder, Delano is capable of making constructs of sludge/snow, or hardened ice. He is limited only by creativity, and distance with this application.

Delano is impervious to the human fragility that usually comes with the cold. He doesn't get frostbite, colds, etc. or any other illnesses or ailments related to cold weather.

He is capable of coating his entire/partial body in ice, increasing both durability and strength.

WEAKNESSES: Distance, and mass are two limitations to Delano's cryokinetic abilities. He is only capable of manipulating the moisture within approximately 30 feet of himself, with the strength of his constructs depending on their thickness, stability, etc. The strength of his constructs it largely dependent on their size, and the amount of energy required of him to produce the desired thickness to support a certain weight.

The amount of moisture plays a significant part in Delano's ability. Hot or dry settings like the desert make it very difficult for him to use his powers, while moisture-rich setting have an adverse effect on him.

The ice that Delano creates and/or manipulates has the same properties and regular ice. It melts under extreme heat, and can be shattered by strong vibrations.

BACKGROUND:

The first Tempest was a man named Daunte Morales, the son of Dominican immigrants.

Daunte worshiped the United States after hearing his parents' stories on how migrating to the promised land had saved them from the harsh realities back home. He enlisted into the US army right out of high school, and studied his beloved country's history while in service. Not only did he earn a degree, but he also became a very decorated soldier. On a tour during the superhero boom, Daunte too received superhuman abilities in the heat of a mission. He topped nationwide news as he cleared enemy forces with powerful winds, saving his crew and gaining worldwide popularity. Already needing to even out the metahuman playing field, the US forces capitalized on their soldier. Tests were ran on Daunte Morales showing signs of what they'd dubbed, "the metagene," the deformity in one's DNA that made them tick in a way unlike everybody else. His powers manifested themselves as control over the winds, and dominance over the waters. Light crackled under Daunte Morales' fingers and his eyes lit up like a deity in their laboratories.

Morales was trained to be the US government's own personal hero, one that the world could put faith in and could also voice the government's own wants and needs. Someone who would rival the budding Starteam and divide their influence over the people. After several harsh months of training and preparations, Tempest took to the world with mixed reactions. It was odd having a hero of his power unrelated to the Starteam, but he was famed nonetheless. He protected civilians while also being very vocal about world politics, largely sympathizing with the black community. He was paid handsomely, but there was nothing better than being the face of an entire country. Unmasked, and transparent, unlike many other heroes at that time.

Morales eventually became a politician of sorts too, with his own seat at some of the highest tables. Some saw him as a sellout, others as a trailbazer.

His children were burdened with a very harsh reality that would haunt their family for generations. They could no longer be siblings, but competitors in battle for the possession he most prized himself with, being Tempest. They were pushed to be the best of the best to one day serve their country. The Tempest moniker was something passed down from most qualified child to most qualified child. The children not chosen, while very skilled and intelligent in their own right, often bore an unhealthy animosity towards their own siblings. Alas, like something of a royal family, the stray siblings remain highly touted by US governments and are often assimilated into politics, armies, and other areas of expertise.

Delano was born to the successors of the Tempest title. Daunte Morales, Julian Morales, his father: Cyrus Morales, and eventually came himself and his siblings. Born in Milennium City, he was raised in the spacious Rosepoint Mansion in the outskirts of the bustling city. His mother had passed away giving birth to his youngest sister and so Delano remembers very little of her. Growing up, his home was filled by an ocean of tutors, trainers, and government officials that exercised the kids and made frequent evaluations of them. It was always more of an institution than a place to call home which aided in his transition to Vochertepp. His father was rarely around due to the nature of his job, nor did they go out much into the world unless it was for a photo-op or telegraphed appearance. Delano and his siblings were supervised by nannies, and followed an advanced, school-like curriculum year-round.

With age, Delano discovered that his brother was not the enemy. Vincent had the soul of a puppy. He brightened the halls of their pale, modern mansion. Delano remembered how Vin would console him on stormy nights, and with powers like their father, he'd create miniature storms in his palms to show him how harmless the lightning was. He was often at the mercy of the cane or whip. Andromeda was more warrior than sibling. The most sinister being Delano could imagine, she was a cunning young girl who's deceptive smile often masked her insidious nature. She was an ambitious electrokinetic, and several of the scars painting his body stemmed from the girl two years his junior.

During a survival training exercise in the woodlands of their backyard, only Delano and Andromeda escaped the thick treeline that day. His brother was found with scorch marks etched in the fabric of his shirt. Andromeda strew together a story that their brother was growing destructive at the thought of life after 18 creeping up onto him, and the constrictions of their family life. The strongest of the three, Vincent simply could have struck himself with his own bolt of lightning. It all seemed too neat and tidy though, especially for Andromeda who was never nearly as introspective about her other siblings, and who'd just been trying to kill him moments earlier. Not aiming to steal the whistle on his belt either.

A funeral was held for Vincent and he was buried with other Morales' in their families' tomb. The two remaining children were shipped off to Vochertepp, and Delano continues to believe that it was simply done in an effort to give Andromeda some semblance of humanity. His father excused it to other officials as a means of catharsis, moving them someplace their brother's death wouldn't haunt them nor interrupt their progression.

Name: Leonard Bristle
Age: 19yrs
Personality: When one thinks of a hero, Leonard is a bit far from what many would assume. He has a remarkably low pain tolerance, and is known for being a bit skittish and cowardly, or at the very least shying away from confrontation. What he lacks in courage and boldness he more than makes up for with intellect and awareness. No detail is too small to be noticed and he does not believe in coincidences or irrelevancies. He is an expert at noticing patterns and sequences and seems far more comfortable around a computer than he does around people. What many assume is antisocial behavior however, is actually a shyness and fear of being around others as his ability was once very dangerous.

Powers: MΓ©gethoskinesis- Leonard possesses a unique ability that falls into the matter/energy manipulation category. He can add or subtract both energy and sub atomic mass from objects to increase or decrease their size and mass at will. This is done via his body breaking down subatomic particles, and injecting them into the object where it mirrors the molecular structure, energy is added as well to keep the molecular bonds stable. Currently he is only able to affect inorganic matter, he is limited to increasing or decreasing an objects size based upon that objects molecular stability, harness, brittleness, and composition. Something like pure steel he can magnify to nearly a hundred times its size, whereas something like glass or paper will only grow about two or three times its size before its instability causes it to violently explode. The inverse is true as well, less durable, less stable, and less uniform objects actually shrink more than the larger ones, the Harder the object the less is can be shrunk and if he exceeds the objects threshold it will equally violently implode. his current limitations seem to restrict him from growing his own body or any other organic life form with the exception being single called organisms which he can actually make visible to the naked eye in most cases.

Background: Born in Luftkin, Texas and surrounded on all sides by farms and forests one would almost expect Leonard to be a rugged country boy, but unfortunately for him he was one of those β€œRandom” cases of superpowers. Coming from a family of no empowered individuals going back nearly twenty generations no one had any idea of how to help him growing up. Random objects would detonate around him or vanish altogether yet the happenings were few and far between until he reached age seven. Having been homeschooled the entirety of his academic age til that point he had never really had much interactions with others. Unfortunately this became a massive problem when the neighbors nieces and nephews came to play and he joined them by the river to skip stones. As the children played the skipping of stones turned into a jovial game of Dodge ball played with pebbles, certainly dangerous but the children had no idea just how dangerous their game was.

Having just been struck in the forehead by a stone from the river, an angry Leonard returned a shot in turn, only to accidentally launch a rapidly growing unstable rock that exploded mere feet from the Neighbors Nephew peppering the young boy with stone shrapnel. Legal action was taken and it was almost within the same day that he was suggested to attend the Vochertepp school, where he would spend the next twelve years of his life. The first few years were plagued with accidents, medications, and reprimands, as his ability was one that required ample technical knowledge to keep in check. The first step took him nearly two years where he spent time learning how to turn his ability off and on at will. The next five years were spend learning the limitations of his ability and how to safely stay within the bounds of stability. The five years following that he learned the hard way that his social awkwardness made making friends a bit difficult, made all the more problematic by the friends he had made leaving one way or another.

Recently however many have noted slight changes in him, he seems to have grown a bit more cynical and sarcastic as of late, and a bit less shy in his approaching of people, one can certainly tell he is still uncomfortable but he seems to be growing less so. Furthermore in this year he has found his knowledge of biology growing considerably as he found that class to be interesting to him, with this knowledge he has seemingly adjusted the way he uses his power allowing him to actually increase the size of microorganisms, which seems to hint at his developing the ability to effect organic matter. Apparently this has caused a bit of worry amongst the staff as he may need more time to learn the stability limitations of organic matter, which in turn may result in a lot of implosions and explosions…unfortunately most humans seem to be made of organic matter making Leonard a good deal more threatening than his looks and demeanor would imply.

I found it a bit difficult to put some limitations on the power for Leonard so I went with a Slowly fading organic matter prohibition, and the unstable explosion thing as he would not be safe from his own abilities side effects. The third and final restriction would be he needs to see what he is effecting.

What are you thoughts?

i see, i think that's fine. good to hear it clarified that it isn't still that he's got the actual pain, more like a ptsd sort of thing. i'm fine with that. you're good! just add that to the full sheet.

hey! unfortunately i'm gonna have to stick to my guns here, since i did already veto a molecular manipulation power, and say no dice on this power. i think powers at the atomic/molecular level are just a little bit too much to get into right now, and that's my bad, i should have put a hard stop on that in the lore to begin with. also, i don't see an explanation for as to why he is 19 and still at the school. anyone past 18 needs to be either held back/a ta/something else.

i see, i think that's fine. good to hear it clarified that it isn't still that he's got the actual pain, more like a ptsd sort of thing. i'm fine with that. you're good! just add that to the full sheet.

It was because he was nearing mastery when the whole organic aspect came into play later this making them worry about the consequences of not yet understanding the molecular stability of organic flesh making his learning curve a bit less steep. Either way no problem I’ll pull out some of the others I had in mind, I got ideas for days lol.

Should I delete the old one or just get the next one up? I think leaving it may be a bit more educational.

i see, okay. that makes sense in context of this power. i gotcha.

up to you! educational for certain, if you want to delete i should get my butt to the lore and update. either way, just hit me with the next concept, you can of course keep the character and change the power if you like.

Okay cool because the nervous older guy is the personality I want and the history is similar as well with the needed edits of course. However I will still need the power to be destructive in nature and hard to control to explain his being older. I could also drop him down to 18 I’m just not comfortable playing a minor lol.

What many assume is antisocial behavior however, is actually a shyness and fear of being around others as his ability is very dangerous.

Powers:
The Wendigo- Leonard was unfortunately born with a family trait long since thought gone. The Native American blood from his mothers side of the family seems to have carried this ability to him. In events of extreme duress or if Leonard himself takes lethal damage his adrenal gland will unleash a powerful Mutagenic chemical which will cause a mind numbing my painful transformation. Inspiring the myths of the wendigo this ability comes with similar aspects to it. His senses are amplified to predatory animal levels, his strength and speed grow to a level that outclasses even some other super humans, however the greatest change and perhaps the most dangerous is the addition of teeth claws and antlers which have been shown to tear steel. The creature while heavily resistant to damage and hard to hit will still take damage from significant attacks and if enough of it is done the creature will die and revert back to Leonard who can apparently only activate the transformation once in a twelve hour period. That said the wendigo currently seems to be mostly incapable of deep thought or critical thinking and acts on animalistic instinct instead, however he has recently shown that he can at least assert some form of control over the creature as evidenced by the events of his last β€œincident.”

Background: Born in Luftkin, Texas and surrounded on all sides by farms and forests one would almost expect Leonard to be a rugged country boy, but unfortunately for him a genetic trait long thought to be both gone and a curse was found in him. Coming from a family of no empowered individuals going back nearly five generations no one had any idea of how to help him growing up, at least he was lucky enough that he got a few years of being a normal kid. Yet it is vastly more fortunate that his first showing of his families feared trait occurred during summer break when he was only eight.

He was playing around with his friends and they had convinced him to take a walk with him into the forest trail which was relatively known for having lots of local wildlife. As the kids wandered they stumbled upon several wild boar who quickly displayed their irritation at the kids coming into their territory. As the boars gave chase the unathletic Leonard fell behind and his friends did not even notice. The boars managed to dig their tusks into Leonard’s thigh dropping him immediately where they promptly went to town on the boy aggressively.

His friends had just made it to the end of the trail when Leonard’s father approached having heard their screams but before he could ask what happened a horrifying cry filled the air followed by the sudden terrified squealing of the boars, and just as suddenly followed by silence. The father knew almost immediately what had occurred as his wife had long told him if her families ties to the Native American legend. He escorted the kids to his house before grabbing his .338 lapua hunting rifle and with a heavy heart he set out to find his son.

When the children went inside they told Leonard’s mother what had occurred and she paled before their eyes at the mention of her husband going after their son. Rather than leave the two Humans she loved the most to kill each other she took her own hunting bow and left to help save her husband. The sound of a gunshot followed by a loud scream brought her into the wooded area where she found her husband with his rifle cracked in half and his arm missing, she had barely arrived to the scene when she spotted her son fleeing the area. With a deep breath she planted an arrow in the back of his head, watching in awe as the beast shuddered and fell, his changing body pushing the arrow out and leaving her son unconscious on the ground.

When Leonard awoke he found himself at Vochertepp’s school, the panicked child spend his first year or two under nearly constant sedation as his fear and sorrow at being abandoned made him come to be known as one of the β€œhair trigger.” Cases. When he made it to age twelve he met another of these labor trigger” cases who informed him that thinking about happy memories helped them considerably. To which Leonard found the same was true for him, when he remembered his fondest memories he would be able to resist the stress transforming him. However he spent several more years trying with nearly no success to control his ability beyond learning he could trigger it himself by thinking of things that scare or anger him. However very recently some have begun to notice his personality shifting a bit in both forms. His human form seems to be growing a bit more backbone, whereas his Wendigo form has displayed a bit more patience and has even taken to fleeing rather than fighting, which while an improvement is still far from him being able to rejoin society, something he fears he will never be able to do.

If the wendigo is a bit too much then my next Idea will be making someone with linage that goes all the way back to Heracles…one guess what that power set will be :)
