Appearance (Description) :
Bane's most obvious feature is his size. He stands at 6'5, but it's his height combined with an intense musculature that give him a large presence in any room. Bane has a muscly body forged from years spent in PeΓ±a Duro Prison, tanned bronze from the harsh Caribbean sun and adorned with various tattoos marking old achievements and long-dead gang-affiliations.

Bane's not one for arrogance. When he isn't working, he usually has a plain white shirt on, with a grey windbreaker to match. Bane keeps his hair short in almost a buzz cut. And of course, who can forget the mask? Black and sleek, it covers Bane's mouth and nose, making it easier for him to breathe. Despite his appearance, however, Bane doesn't carry himself like a brute. He never slouches when he walks, and those brown eyes are always far more observant than most people notice.


Occupation :
Coming out of prison, nobody wanted to a hire a 6'5 ex-con who looked like he could snap them in half, especially not one from the infamous PeΓ±a Duro Prison. In the end, Bane had to rely on his strength once more and became an MMA fighter. He doesn't do it all too often: occasionally when he needs the money he'll enter in a fight, destroy the other guy, and leave with the prize money without so much as an interview. The rest of the time, Bane's on the streets, selling a new drug he developed to low-level thugs and goons: a serum he calls 'venom', able to almost triple your strength for a period of time. He's selling it to them so he can test the side-effects (like heart attack etc.) before giving it to himself. That's his real occupation.

Family :
Mother died of an overdose, father went ahead and got himself shot, and his siblings wound up scattered across the Santa Prisca underworld. Not romantic, not tragic, simply a truth of life.



PERSONALITY & HISTORY


Moral Alignment / Personality :
Bane is apathetic to injustice, or rather: he sees the entire world as just another prison similar to the one he grew up in. A prison where order and discipline rules, where the strong conquer the weak and where it's up to one's self to crawl out of the pit and forge a name for themselves. He won't go out of his way to harm people (not yet, at least), but in turn is adamant for no one to get in his way.

Bane's personality is one of discipline and respect, however different his definition may be to the rest of the world's. He doesn't speak unless he wants to be heard, and chooses his worlds carefully. Because underneath all of that brawn and muscle is an intelligent, observant mind. Not cold or clinically genius, as some others may be, but rather a fiery thirst for knowledge mixed with a sharply practical outlook on life. That's Bane.


Brief Biography :
Bane was one of many children born in the Santa Prisca streets. His first words were uttered over the roar of gunfire, his first steps made on ground wet with the blood of police officers. Santa Prisca had always been a terrible place, but with the advent of the military stepping in to 'clean up' the streets, it had only gotten bloodier. Five years and two dead parents later, Bane was an average child soldier until a wrong step led him directly into PeΓ±a Duro Prison. The military was making an example out of those who broke the law, and what better way than to throw a five-year-old in prison?

From the ages of five to twenty-four, Bane's entire existence was confined in the walls of PeΓ±a Duro, an endless cycle of routine and discipline. Of fighting for your life while the guards watched, entertained. Bane couldn't count how many gangs he joined in his time there, but he never stayed with any for long. He chose to spend his waking time exercising and reading about the ways of science and chemicals, hoping he'd one day find a way out. Not joining a specific gang came with costs, of course. A fight led to an injury to his throat, for which he developed the mask to help out with. The days blurred together and Bane grew until he was a man.

He never tells anyone how, but one day, he did escape PeΓ±a Duro. Knowing Santa Prisca would pursue him, he smuggled himself out, and into Gotham City. He found a job, and in his free time worked on developing a chemical he had thought up in prison, a strength-enhancer.

'Venom', he called it.



VILLAINY


Powers : Apart from intelligence, an exceptionally fit body and (almost) peak human strength, Bane doesn't possess any superpowers. Although he hasn't tried it on himself yet, his 'venom' drug is capable of supernaturally increasing someone's strength multifold.

Skills/Weaknesses : Bane is a very skilled fighter and strategist. Due to years in prison, he has difficulty understanding new technologies, but in the practical sense he's extremely intelligent. Bane is terrible at subterfuge and 'blending in' to a crowd or secretive missions, he stands out far too much for that.

Costume : As of now, Bane simply has his mask, his muscles and his tattoos. Not much else.

Weaponry/Equipment : Bane uses his fists. He does
carry around vials of the 'venom' drug he's developing. He hasn't quite worked out the side-effects yet. Sometimes, vials (in addition to super strength) cause headaches, hallucinations or even heart attacks, which is why he's testing the side-effects out by selling venom to criminals before he takes it himself.

He must wear a super cooled survival suit that keeps his body at a sub-zero temperature. On his suit, Freeze has a protective dome covering his head, a cryo coolant tank located on the back, and he has a right-handed freeze gun connected to his suit via a tube linked to his regulation belt. Chill wears thermal goggles that he can use to scan for targets.

Joe is a practical and level-headed individual, putting business before emotion. He has no qualms with killing anyone who would jeopardize his criminal activities.

A cold-blooded killer, he kills his targets without doubt or any regard for human life. Innocent or guilty, it's all the same to him. He loves nothing more than the feeling of a gun in his hand and the power over life and death it affords him.

With his newfound powers, Chill is no longer content with simply following orders like he had always done before, he wants more and has set his sights on taking over the Gotham underworld.


Brief Biography:
Joseph Chilton was born in Gotham City, into the extremely poor and dangerous neighbourhood known as The Bowery. Like thousands of other impoverished residents that called the city home, he turned to a life of crime as a means to survive.

As time passed, Joseph, better known as his street-name "Joe Chill", established himself as an experienced button man and often worked for Carmine Falcone. Chill was often hired for small time jobs, and he would often murder people that either tried to double-cross Falcone or were threats to the organization. Joe would also be hired by a couple of Falcone's associates, including Lew Moxon and Carl Grissom.

Eventually, Moxon contacted Chill and gave him a job: Kill Thomas and his wife Martha and make it look like a mugging gone wrong. Chill agreed and ambushed the couple as they returned from the Monarch Theatre with their son, Bruce. He shot Thomas and Martha dead and stole her pearls but left the young Bruce unharmed so he would unwittingly support the story of a botched robbery.

Joe escaped into the night, only to be picked up by police the following day. The police suspected that Chill had been hired to kill the Wayne's but when interrogated, he confessed to the police that he had acted alone and was sentenced to life imprisonment at Blackgate Penitentiary.

During his time at Blackgate, Joe was a model prisoner and shared a cell with criminal scientist, Dr. Art Schivel. The years ticked by and Joe's health steadily worsened until almost 20 years after his original imprisonment, he was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. With Blackgate bursting at the seams, and the doctors giving him only months at the most to live, Chill was granted compassionate release to live out the rest of his days.

Desperately fearing his own mortality and knowing little of the distinction between doctor and scientist, Joe sought out his old cellmate, who had been released several years before him, and begged him for his help. The largely unhinged Schivel fancied himself a genius without equal and agreed to attempt to cure Chill's condition.

The scientist had been working on a concentrated freezing solution at the time and so decided on an improvised form of cryotherapy as the best course of treatment. Strapping Joe to a table, he inserted needle like probes through his skin, directly into the cancerous cells, and pumped his solution into them in order to freeze and kill the malignant tissue. The procedure was a success but unfortunately the solution permanently lowered Joe's body temperature to the point that he needed to be kept at sub-zero temperatures in order to survive.

Schivel told Chill that he could construct him a special, ultra-durable suit to keep his body alive if, in exchange, he performed some jobs for him. Joe agreed to Schivel's terms, albeit reluctantly, and the scientist assembled him a makeshift suit, using pieces of equipment found in his lab, to keep his body at the right temperature as well as outfitting him with an experimental freeze gun he had been developing.

Chill performed numerous tasks for Schivel but soon grew tired of being someone else's lackey and eventually turned on him, forcing him to complete the creation of the cryo-suit he promised him.

With a second lease on life, Joe soon embraced his new persona as Mister Freeze.


VILLAINY


Powers:

Exposure to Schivel's concentrated freezing solution caused Chill to become genetically altered with a bizarre condition that has irreversibly frozen him to the bone, transforming him into a cold-blooded mutate that must always be kept below zero. His altered biology caused his skin cells to become storage units for the cold to help his body chemistry to be comfortably chilled, allowing him to become both entirely immune and adapted to sub-freezing temperatures. Extraordinarily, his age progression has slowed dramatically, seemingly in a suspended animation state. His unique physiology also makes him immune to most toxins, bacteria, and viruses.

Skills:
A career criminal, Chill is skilled in theft, breaking and entering, the use of firearms and other criminal activities. He is also moderately capable of organizing thugs in small-time racketeering operations but is primarily hired by other villains as muscle or as a hitman.

Costume:
Cooling Suit: Freeze's original suit made using pieces of equipment found in Schivel's lab. It has large tanks of cold air on the back that circulate through the suit, keeping his body below zero.
Cryo-Suit: A protective suit that keeps his body temperature below freezing. The entire suit is bulletproof (except for the helmet) but is also cumbersome, limiting Freeze's mobility when worn.

Weaponry/Equipment:
Freeze Gun:
A weapon capable of freezing objects in solid ice by creating gusts of cold that approach absolute zero. It is the size of a handgun and is connected to a regulating belt in his Cryo-Suit, which enables the gun's proper operation. It can be placed in a holster on the suit's right leg when not in use.

Zatanna, encouraged by her mixed heritage, retains both traits of her parents. On her father’s side, she has taken his soft, olive skin tone; rosy and warm like the beaches she recalls visiting from her youth, and dashed with eclectic freckles over her cheeks and nose. Most of her facial features are similar to her fathers, the two appearing near twins when next to each other. On the other hand, the curve of her jaw and chin is very akin to her mother’s side of the family, as well as sharing their stature as well. Zanna is short, five foot five or so, and her frame rather narrow but endowed with grace and form.

On her own, Zanna keeps her hair long and dark, though notably when she was younger she’d dyed it blonde briefly to match her mother for a while. These bleached tones sometimes peak through after a while between refreshes of her more natural, midnight brown colour. Her eyes are her own as well, a sharp yet forestry green piercing gaze. Her makeup is always impeccable when she’s performing or in any public event. Privately the woman takes a turn inward, maintaining a clean face and fresh skin. Being in the spotlight has made Zatanna introspective of her physical appearance, and the more care she puts in the less she has to worry about it when she chooses to de-stress.

Zanna is good hearted, with traits instilled of humanitarianism and benevolence from her father. Giovanni was a resourceful, secretive man but he was good. Zanna always loved that about her father, and after they both lost her mother, they bonded tighter than ever. She has definitely inherited most of his traits, including his proclivity toward the stage and fame, and aspires to be the type of person that her father was. While Zatanna loved her mother as well, losing her at a young age was too impactful and yet not deep enough for the young girl to really resonate on anything with. Her mother is a handful of memories, and tens of mementos locked away in the attic, as well as a whole family that Zatara didn’t like at all. Zatanna tries to keep appearances, with family and with the public, for her lineage as well as the carefully crafted line that her father had made.

She is particularly laidback, but otherwise engaged in more unsolvable manners. Puzzles confuse and confound her, but she adores them for the skill required. Answering questions better left unspoken captivates the woman, and she has been known to ponder on questions and occurrences for days on end, perhaps wondering how the different outcomes would turn out. Her creative mind is expansive, and creating music has never been an issue for her, even from a young age. Zatanna is witty, to a near painful degree, and her sharp tongue has almost gotten her into a few altercations. Her sass is something else entirely, but she simply dials it up for the attention and the situation. Rarely do things hit her much deeper than surface level, but the ones that do resonate for so long they could form an ulcer in her heart and mind.

Zanna is loyal to the bone, and as long as others follow her own doctrines of good and righteous behaviour, she will back them. Not one to turn on a feather, she will however find it hard to trust again once bonds are broken. She simply wants to pick the pieces up on where her father left their family’s legacy behind. Naive, perhaps, she is still learning of the types of make or break relationships that define a person.

Lastly, she loves to perform, and will unconsciously act up in front of people for the sake of performing. That being said, after her father’s death, she’s been left far more unsure of what is in store for herself and her future. So many things had been laid in the right direction thanks to Zatara, and without him… She has to rely on other family and friends, after spending so long concerned about her media image.

Relatively untapped, and unknown, Zatanna is part of the homo magi race. She has a wealth of magic at her disposal, with most spells in her father’s spellbook slowly showing themselves to be available to her. A lot of these spells are very simple, illusion and simple reality bending (nothing permanent so far). She can make things appear and disappear, levitate things, move objects and change the appearance of things. These last for anywhere from five minutes to thirty minutes, and she’s yet to be able to produce any magic that’s lasted longer than this. Most of these are adapted from old sleight of hand tricks he’d taught her, paired with the verbal accompaniment. Logomancy is the key to Zatanna’s power, only being able to perform these spells. By speaking them backwards, they are allowed to happen. (levitate = etativel)

A power she has not realized the potential of is her ability to hypnotise and enthrall with her own logomancy. This is still in its infancy, with her usually only using the ability during songs and in performances. The hypnotic sense of her music and singing is her own powers coming through. She cannot manipulate the minds of anyone, but her hypnosis is merely a lull and attention turning. She has not paired this with any true hypnosis, and doesn’t know how to hypnotise anyone.

WEAKNESSES: Zatanna is an infant to her power, in a sense, and is just learning new spells. The obvious weakness to practicing logomancy is that any forced restriction to her being able to speak limits her actual powers. This includes external intervention and even illness or a sore throat/smoking.

When Cindy Cobblepott met the illusive Giovanni Zatara, she fell hard. A man out of town, with a magical flourish and a charming smile, and those puppy dog eyes. How could a girl not love them? Where she had local prestige, being a Cobblepott in Gotham, Giovanni had the allure and aloofness that she so craved. The most important aspect, however, was Zatar’s fame. It had the national scale she aspired to elevate her status, and her family’s.

Forces in play had other plans, however, but Cindy was allowed to date and marry Zatara. The man hated her family, perhaps having an inkling of the type of people that they were and the businesses they dealt with, but his heart was soft for the eldest Cobblepott daughter. The honeymooned abroad, exploring Zatara’s roots in the Italian countryside. Love blossomed there, in more ways than one; and nine months after their whirlwind marriage Cindy gave birth to their daughter.

Cindy had insisted on returning to Gotham before the birth, although Zatara had tried to urge Zatanna to be born in Italy. Having won out in the end, a red faced Zatanna Zatar was born in mid-May, capturing her father’s heart though he’d been apprehensive of fatherhood before. The couple relished in the first few years, nearly losing their own minds to the thralls of newborn terror. Cindy was far less suited for being a mother than she’d thought, and sought refuge in dealing with her family’s business. Zatara, booked with movie roles and his magician gig across the country, made time when he was home to be with Zatanna. Otherwise, she had a nanny that raised her during the early years of Zanna’s life, and the two formed a close bond in these times.

Zatanna was very much her father’s daughter, much to Cindy’s chagrin. Maybe she’d had some high hopes that her daughter would be a perfect protege for the family business, and as ice cold as some of the other Cobblepotts, but Zatanna loved to scrape her knees and practice card tricks with her father. Cindy also had academic goals for Zanna, though the younger girl was more of a fan of her creative classes and spending hours after school plunking away at a piano. As Zanna got older and the two tried to communicate better, there forged a small but strong relationship. Cindy’s high expectations set Zanna off, but she couldn’t help but be proud of her daughter’s prowess and skills. No matter how much she complained, she always managed to show up for Zatanna’s recitals.

When Zatanna was ten, Cindy passed away. It was a quick and sudden death, a car accident claiming her life and leaving no time for closure. Zatara and Zatanna clung to each other for this grieving process, spending hours in the evening playing chess together and talking about Cindy. It was the closest they got to a funeral, with Zatara refusing to attend the one that her family put on. He never told Zatanna of his concerns that Cindy’s death was not an accident, but she’d heard on one or two occasions of him ranting about it over the phone to close friends. Though she never told him, she’d continue to hold that grudge in her heart. They would visit the gravesite afterward, always a day before Cindy’s birthday, to avoid running into any family or family butlers that dropped a rose at the site.

Her nanny, still kept on by Zatara, was able to be the closest thing to a mother that Zatanna had. The nanny was old friends with Zatara, and keeping her around proved to be very healthy for Zatanna. The older she got, the more likely she was to accompany her father on his various tours and acting gigs across the world. Writing off school, Zatara was less than likely to encourage her to stay and care about it; she embraced the intense culture of fame. Seeing herself photographed in the papers was the first jarring moment she had, realizing how worldwide her father’s fame was.

Conversely, she was encouraged by her father’s agent, Mr. Tong, to pursue music. Acting wasn’t what Zatanna wanted, but being able to sing and play instruments while putting on a performance, however, was her cup of tea. She flourished in this spotlight, her first album taking only three months to make and… having no reach or impact. It went basically unnoticed, despite her father’s reputation to hopefully shed some nepotism on it. That was when Zatara gave her the idea to go into more electronic, trance music. He said the people really liked it, and they’d play it in clubs. He also told her to sing some of the lyrics backwards, just for fun, for the aesthetic, as he said. Zatara himself had capitalized on his unique trick of announcing tricks backwards, and it was what made him stand out. He knew it would be the same for his daughter.

Her second album, another EP, with the adjustments and few changes made to really promote a new image… hit off. There was something mystical and hypnotic about it, and people ate it up. Zatanna’s image grew from there, taking on her own fanbase and integrating well into the life of fame and fortune.

The two co-existed like this, occasionally attending events together, but otherwise pursuing their own lives. Zatanna moved out to her own penthouse apartment when she was twenty two, and went on a European and Australia tour. It was a year and a half of grueling but amazing time spent seeing the world, spreading her music and ensnaring more fans.

Coming back home and finding that her Dad’s been declared dead, and theres a whole chest of spellbooks and memorabilia in the attic of his home that she never knew about. Turns out Daddy had more secrets than he was willing to admit.

giovanni zatara



A famous actor and stage magician now dead, Giovanni Zatara was a man who ironically kept his cards close to his chest. He was well known for being charming and aloof, and his true love was Cynthia Cobblepot. Zatanna's father was a mentor to her, and an inspiration for who she is now. She holds his memory fondly, and grieves his death. Finding, however, a trunk full of actual spellbooks and unlocking what is a magical ancestry, she has begun to confront who Giovanni Zatara really was, and what was all an illusion.

















Cynthia "Cindy" Zatara



Born a Cobblepott and native to Gotham City, Cynthia was the eldest of her siblings and the pride of her father's eye. She had high hopes and plans for the Cobblepott family, as well as the [REDACTED] but told no one about this. After falling head first for Giovanni Zatara, she softened a bit, but remained confident and ambitious. Zatanna remembers her mother, but the memories were only fond toward the end. When she tragically passed in a car accident, Zatanna mostly cared for her father's heartbreak than her own grief. The Cobblepotts she knows somewhat well, but harbours a bit of the apprehension that her father had.

















Aarav Tong



Zatara's publicist and agent, Tong was a sort of uncle figure to Zatanna once she began to experiment in the spotlight. He remains a confidant, and perhaps knows about her father's secrets.

















Vivianne Inwudu



The nanny that Zatanna grew up with, Viv was always a light and a beacon of hope to the young girl's dreams and aspirations. Vivianne knew Zatara prior to her employment, and was only about ten or so years younger than him. Almost a mother to Zatanna, she has a strong influence on her and is someone that Zatanna returns to even as an adult for help and advice. Though her own past is something of a mystery to Zanna.

Generally regarded as a very kind and affable man, Henry is known to help even the smallest and meekest person. Oneiric Infiltration - this ability allows the user to enter the psyche of their target through their dreams and participate as part of the oneiric illusion. The user is able to act as they wish within the confines of the dream, but the target can easily oust the user, if they become aware of their intrusion. He also appears asleep when entering either his mind or the mind of others.

Paralysis - With this ability, the user is able to artificially induce a REM-like sleep state in the target, causing them to fall asleep and completely lose control of their body. For this ability to work, the target must be in a state of relaxation.

Psi Infusion - The user is able to focus and divert their mental energy into their bodies or specific parts of their bodies. This allows them to operate at heightened strength, speed, and precision. Emotions and sensations are equally heightened, and they may overwhelm the user if too intense.

One of the benefits of wandering the psyche and dreamscapes of so many young people in a city like Gotham, where even kids are made to do crazy things to survive, is that over the course of 15 years, you pick up a lot of the skills said young people have. While it would take psi energy to truly enable his body to perform many maneuvers, he could in a pinch. Of course, the general skill level of your average low level thug is limited.

Born to two loving parents who both taught in Gotham's public school, Henry grew up a happy and content child. This was especially true as during that time Gotham experienced a kind of golden age where the city was largely content and crime free.



From a young age, Henry was content to follow his father and mother's footsteps into the teaching role and was interested from a young age in the humanities, particularly history. However, his world would change when a hit and run claimed the life of his mother when he was 18. Distraught, he began to read heavily about some of the work in psychology being done to understand the mind of criminals with most work coming to the conclusion that failures in poverty, upbringing, and guidance were causing young people to join gangs. However, these arguments while seeming sound didn't seem to satisfy his heart though he went along with them as the field was rapidly moving in that direction.



Noticing his interest in psychology, a teacher of his recommended that he take some psychology courses alongside his teaching courses while at university. After taking some classes he began to be drawn to the work of Jung who attributed much of the fault of mental illness on improper mental health when people are young causing mental scarring that would affect people for the rest of their lives. To truly cure someone, you must cure the psyche. Confident in his ideas, to help give teenagers and middle schoolers good mental healthcare, he went out into the public schools and began practicing while also teaching.



During this time, however, Gotham would change. What once was a dawning city of progress and hope became a city of corruption, crime, and avarice. More and more of his students were coming to him with worse and worse stories of abuse, violence, rape, and worse. Sadly, this also meant that more and more students were content to make their way onto the streets to fend for themselves than seek out a school counselor. One day, after a particular student was forced to gun down a rival gang only to discover his brother on the other side, his mind exploded in pain as tears streamed down his face as he could see and feel his won brother being killed.



Looking around, he realized that he was watching that person's memory and was able to explore what he would later discover was the dreamscape of that young person. Over the course of 15 years, he would use his knowledge to delve into the depths of people's damaged psyches and dreamscapes, fighting off all kinds of psychic monsters, fears, and mental corruptions and scaring. This process would often take days of intense work to journey through the different parts of people's psyche's. However, each young person he helped was able to turn away from the pain and sadness of their circumstances and pursue education.



In the course of fifteen years, he had a record of increasing the graduation rate and halving the dropout rate of any school he worked at working. Laboring tirelessly to heal his students, he has sequestered himself off from society focus only and alloting more hours of the day to 'therapy' sensions with students. However, this has caused him to be extremely reclusive to others though he remains friendly if unwilling to have deeper friendships or relationships with anyone else or even really interact with the outside world.

His younger brother by 18 years, Jervis was born when their father's then wife was killed in a hit and run. His father then remarried and had Jervis. They remained somewhat friendly, mainly due to their shared interest in psychology, but due to Jervis' extreme intelligence and work in the highly profitable field of neurology eating his time, as well as, Henry's own reclusiveness they have become distant though cordial in the last decade. In fact, Jervis is somewhat worried for this reclusiveness his brother is exhibiting. Currently dating Alice Longfellow.

Tony Barret is the head of the public school system in Gotham. He was deeply antagonistic towards Henry until roughly five years ago when he has a sudden change of heart and began supporting Henry's efforts to advocate for student mental health.

During one of Henry's first excursions into the dreamscape, he encountered a young boy, Jerry, aged 14 who was being beaten by his father. The boy was extremely scared to talk and so created a talking dog in his psyche that he would commune with from a young age. Henry was brought in by the local school under pressure from the father who was in the local mafia to fix Jerry. Sadly, while Henry was able to help the boy speak some words find peace, his father was bribing the cops to stay quiet so he couldn't report him. He was able to give the boy great comfort before the boy confessed in a note that he planned to take his own life. He was unable to stop the boy from killing himself but the talking dog Jerry somehow stuck around and is a constant psychic mirage that follows Henry on his adventures and can attack psychic and mystical forces though cannot be seen by others. He also has a kind yet sarcastic personality, focusing on a blunt idea of good and evil.

Brief Biography:
Hal Jordan always wanted to fly. As a boy, he wanted to be a Blackhawk, or at least become an Air Force Captain like his dad.

On his eighteenth birthday, Hal joined the Air Force to fight in a short-lived war against the nation of Gamorra, against his family's wishes.
He excelled in the role. Time after time, he overcame the Gammoran forces in increasingly daring raids and dogfights. Good ol' Highball even got to meet Kaizen Gammora himself.

Eventually his higher-ups found him too daring. Too cocky. A reckless son of a gun that could, and eventually would jeopardize the safety of the mission if he kept his behavior up. He was moved to vehicle testing.
Jordan generally moved to whatever manufacturer needed him, which kept him moving for around for about a decade, usually for companies attempting to cut a corner of the aviation industry.

He eventually landed a gig at Ferris industries, under the employment of Carol Ferris, back in his hometown.
This eventually led to him finding an alien in the middle of the California desert. Abin Sur crashed into Earth, dying from space parasites.
He handed Hal his ring and lantern and with it, his job as the Green Lantern. Now, with the help from the young mechanic Tom Kalmaku, Hal protects Coast City, and indeed, the sector from crime and the forces of evil.

PERSONALITY & HISTORY

Psyche: Karl is firmly on the wrong side of the Law, tired of working honestly, and then only for mere peanuts, his own nom de guerre as King Of Cats showing his true ambition. Kyle seeks both the wealth and station of such a title though there is someone who he would love to share it with, a certain lady whose wants and opinions he greatly values. Willing to go above and beyond for her, Karl might even be swayed to give up his current path if shown the same level of love and trust...

For the time being however, criminality and thievery are the quickest ways to his dreams, as well as an excuse to get the fame he so desperately craves, with Kyle always committing his schemes with a certain level of panache and showmanship. Coming across as modern day swashbuckler, the Cat King concerns himself with looking masterful and dashing in all of his exploits.

However unlike the more audacious of these literary models, Kyle distains killing even at the risk of his own life, choosing to operate non lethally, but is more than happy to raise his fists or his gun to resolve a conflict, though the latter is always armed with innocuous gas pellets.


Brief Biography: Spending most of his life in the Circus, Karl only has the faintest memories of his family, the thrum of engines as a well presented woman orates to a throng of people, and the sight of a hundred warm faces looking back at him throughout his childhood being the only hazy echoes of his past.

Growing tired of his time at Hill's Circus and wanting more, Kyle has been drawn to Gotham, eager to put his skills from the Big Top to his own use amongst it's seedy underbelly though it's true allure for the next "King of the Underworld" bubbles just below the surface....


VILLAINY

Powers: None though Karl does seem to have a natural affinity for cats, with most of the feline species being rather more docile and malleable to his whims than most would expect with the generally aloof genus.

Skills: Karl was professionally trained as an acrobat and lion tamer for Hill's Circus, though he never reached the heights of fame like Boston Brand in his acrobatic career, nor the love of the big cat's he worked with. Nevertheless his time under the big top granted him a powerful body which rivals that of any athlete or fighter, as well as made him a dab hand with an air rifle, for those more... moody... moggies.

Their smaller kin however is a very different story, with the young Kyle adopting and enjoying the company of the many abundant stray felines of Gotham, having a natural affinity with the graceful grimalkins and even as going as far as you using them in his schemes at one point or another, their sheer numbers and charming appearances proving a boon for the self proclaimed Cat King.


Style: Karl dresses practically usually sporting a simple white T shirt and durable jeans however his other garments sport a fifties flair, notably his jackets and shoes, being his more stand out pieces. Wearing dark creepers and often sporting a windcheater or leather bomber jacket in a range of purples when going about his daily life though he will favour a darker shade, if not outright black, for his more unsavoury deeds.

To top off his look Kyle sometimes wears a pair of flip up sunglasses, for the times he needs to be weary of glare or flashing lights while making his escape up high or on the road, resting them on his head while not in use, the spectacles often looking like small ears pointing up through his thick mane.


Weaponry/Equipment: The King of Cats has many tools fitting of his name from clawed gloves used to scale the rooftops and fire escapes of Gotham, A high powered air rifle, the Evanix Air Speed, specifically chosen for it's pre charged pneumatic action allowing Karl to unleash a barrage of pellets in quick succession (just in case), to his audacious automobile, the "Kitty Car", a Jaguar E type 60's edition roadster with custom paint job and features such as cat's eye headlights and clawed fenders.
