Hello. Welcome to the world of pokémon. I am ████████. People call me ███████████████████████████████████. This world is inhabited by creatures called pokémon. For some people, pokémon are pets. Others use them for fights. I wonder... what will they become to you?

Welcome to the character thread for Pokémon - Team Nova! The story pitch for this is relatively simple: An evil team has finally succeeded in taking over the pokemon world. There are people trying to bring them down. Conflict ensues. See, simple.

Set 5 years after the events of Sun and Moon, an organization calling itself Team Nova has done what every other group failed: they've taken over the world. With a terrifying new technology called StarBurst, they can take over the minds of any pokemon on a whim, even through pokeballs. Trainers are left powerless. Most Gym leaders and Elite Four members surrendered in the hopes that their pokemon might be spared, and most of those that fought back are now dead or presumed dead. Soldiers rose up to replace them. Weapons and technology are almost always preferred to a team of pokemon at your side. You can at least trust a weapon.

StarBurst technology takes the form of an energy weapon, most often contained in a gauntlet wore by Team Nova members. When used, a beam of light shoots from the gauntlet, and any pokemon struck is quickly dominated. The beam can be controlled by its caster to encircle targets as well, which is most often used on trainers to destroy and pokeballs they may have on them and take the pokemon inside. Only Legendary pokemon, or those with a very strong life-long bond to a human can hope to resist a hit from a StarBurst. The more pokemon a trainer has, the more thin their bond with them is spread. The few trainers left in the world usually only have one or two pokemon to stay under Team Nova's radar.
I won't care how simple or fancy you format your character sheet. So long as it includes the required info I'll be happy. You are more than welcome to put up WiP character sheets, either to ask for input or just incase the site goes down while you're working, or feel free to send them to me in a PM if you don't like showing your unfinished work in front of the class.

IMPORTANT! - I won't tell you you can't have a full team of 6 Magikarp, but having multiple pokemon is not the safest choice given the state of the pokemon world and how easy it is for StarBurst to just come in and steal all of your precious Magikarp in an instant. Think of the bond a trainer has with their pokemon as butter and the pokemon as bread. A single piece of bread covered in all of the butter has a low chance of resisting a single dosage of StarBurst without getting taken over, but 6 slices of bread with barely any butter on each stand no chance of resisting. The first Team Nova grunt to whip out their StarBurst will be going home with your 6 precious Magikarp after using them to Splash you into oblivion. And taking on Team Nova with pokemon and losing will have consequences. Just keep that in mind before you copy and paste your full team of 6 Uber pokemon from pokemon showdown onto the character sheet.

This story is set in a version of the pokemon world that does its best to follow the events of the games, mixed with events, characters, and flavor taken from the Pokemon Adventures manga. There is one very important thing to note however: the timeline does not include the events of Pokemon SwSh. The AU housing this story split before the events of SwSh, resulting in those games' story never happening here. The timeline is not perfect, has many inconsistencies, and will not hold up to intense scrutiny. Don't think too much about it.

20 000 BCE

A meteorite containing Eternatus fell on the Galar region.
3 000 BCE

The Kalos war resulted in the use of the Ultimate Weapon.
In Galar, a black storm called the Darkest Day occurred and was stopped by Zacian and Zamazenta.
2 000 BCE

The Draconid people summon Rayquaza using a wish on a meteor at Meteor Falls to calm Groudon and Kyogre.
1000 BCE

A meteor strikes Hoenn, creating Sootopolis City and waking Groudon and Kyogre. As a result of the Draconid people wishing upon the meteor, Rayquaza performs the first recorded instance of Mega Evolution and again calms the two pokemon.
800 BCE

Xerneas and Yveltal begin their hibernation in Kalos.
500 BCE

The first Ultra Wormhole opens in Alola, and the guardian deities fight against Solgaleo and Lunala.
Megearna is created by a scientist who succeeded in creating an artificial soul using the life energy from pokemon.
150 BCE

Brass Tower in Johto burns to the ground, killing three pokemon inside. Ho-Oh resurrects them as the Legendary Beasts.
The first Pokemon League competition is held.
60 BCE

Professor Westwood of Celadon University develops the modern pokeball.
11 BCE

Red & Blue are born.
The Litleonids meteor shower, including the Millennium Comet, is visible for 7 days over Hoenn.
10 BCE

Porygon is created as the "first" artifically created pokemon.

Mew is discovered by a team of scientists.

The Pokemon World Championship is held in Kanto. For unknown reasons the pokemon there begin attacking their trainers and bystanders, turning the gathering into a massacre.
Blue escapes due to his Alakazam's quick reaction to instantly Teleport its trainer away. He is the only known survivor.
15 CE

World governments begin to crumble as the Champions, Elites, and Gym Leaders are killed by their own pokemon.
Blue gathers the remnants of the Pokemon League into a resistance group against Team Nova, whom he believes is responsible for the attack at the PWT.
16 CE

What's left of Team Plasma led by N joins with the Resistance against Team Nova.
The Resistance manages to get their hands on some Team Nova tech, including StarBurst gauntlets. This allows them to take back control of their pokemon. However, they discover a side effect of the technology: StarBursted pokemon will never develop bonds with humans like a normally captured pokemon would, even if caught in a normal pokeball. They will never obey a human unless they are StarBursted again. It permanently turns them into tools.
17 CE

Resistance conflict with Team Nova escalates, causing outright war in many regions. The worst of the conflict takes place in Kalos, where Mewtwo joins the fighting alongside Blue to battle against Team Nova's Admins, forcing Team Nova to use a previously unseen weapon that results in much of the entire region being left uninhabitable. When the dust settled Team Nova is left controlling Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh. The Pokemon League controls Alola, Orre, Unova, and what's left of Kalos.
The last remnants of Team Plasma are exterminated immediately following the destruction of Kalos when a Team Nova Admin destroys their fleet of frigates that were fleeing the region.

The story begins.
Half Rules and half Terms and Conditions really. For the most part, I'll just make them up as I go. In no particular order:
1. Don't be a dick.
2. Shape the story however you want.
3. When in doubt, ask forgiveness not permission.*
4. *Ask permission before taking over a canon character.
5. *Ask permission before taking over a legendary pokemon.
6. Team Nova is very strong, expect unwinnable situations to show up. (your level 4 Barbarian isn't always prepared to fight the level 20 Dragon that just spawned in front of it)
7. Yes, Cel can do that. (said level 20 Dragon)
8. Team Nova can steal your pokemon, even the lowly grunts.
9. Both pokemon and people can be injured or killed if they get into a bad spot.
10. The threshold for killing a character is harder to reach than their pokemon, but don't keep limit testing that threshold.
11. Feel free to create and use minor NPC characters, including Resistance/Nova grunts.
12. If a character dies you are free to jump to another.
13. To add a new pokemon to your team, for pretty much any pokemon, you are free to go out and catch them, just have something in a post about the character doing so. Do try to keep it within reason, like finding a pokemon where it would logically be found, and the pokemon be something the trainer could reasonably catch and handle.
14. If you actually read these (why would you do that), put a period at the bottom right corner of your sheet. Don't worry, these terms are not legally binding and Giratina will not take your soul should you sign.
15. Don't even try to have more characters + NPCs than Quirks, you won't win.

For now Nova Grunt is available, but I want the majority of characters against Nova at the start, so if too many people try to join as Nova Grunts I will shut that role down. I recommend starting with a Resistance Member character.

  Bio: Despite how frequently he interacts with individuals outside Team Nova, dealing with the Resistance wherever they pop up and just interacting with the citizens in Goldenrod City and elsewhere, there is surprisingly little information available about the man called Jay Rayne. The name was on the list of participants in the Pokemon World Tournament, and records of his qualifying battles indicate he was an incredibly skilled trainer, but that's all the information anyone has found related to him. Absolutely nothing before he entered the tournament. In the time since the Bloody Indigo incident he has by far been the most active of Team Nova's three known Admins, using his unrivaled mobility to quickly react to events that would be troublesome for Team Nova. Despite being the Admin the Resistance encounters most frequently, he is also the Admin they fear least. Many in the Resistance have picked up on Admin Jay's reluctance to kill his enemies, something the other Admins are not known for.

  In the field Admin Jay is almost always accompanied by a woman he refers to as Ava. There is even less information available about her, but she seems to posses psychic abilities and should be considered highly dangerous.
  
  He tends to fight best away from other Team Nova grunts, as his go-to tactic involves disabling electronics in his surroundings.
  He is known to posses a StarBurst device, but usually only wields it as a deterrent and threat.

  Description: Slightly taller-than-average height, with a very thin build. Her eyes are gold, and no one knows what her real hair color is since she changes its color every day. She dresses comfortably, usually in loose or thin clothing, but wears her Admin uniform when out in the field.

  Hometown: Unknown
  Bio: The Resistance encounters Nova Admin Jay frequently, and loses to him the majority of the time, but he doesn't inspire anywhere near the same terror that Nova Admin Celene does despite her rarely appearing in the field. That's because there simply isn't comparing the threat posed by the two Admins. With Admin Jay he might hurt some people and destroy some property, but Admin Celene rarely leaves anything to recover from people to pokemon to entire locations, she wipes out everything. During the height of the War in Kalos, Admin Celene was able to fight evenly against the combined forces of Blue and his team, Mewtwo, and multiple other Resistance and Plasma combatants, and afterwards still had the firepower to wipe out Plasma's fleet. The weapon that destroyed much of the Kalos region then is also believed to be her work. She is an unrivaled genius at inventing machines of destruction. Celene is usually stationed in Team Nova HQ in Goldenrod City, Johto, acting as a one-person deterrent keeping the Resistance from making any rash moves to attack the location.

- Name: Keith Roche
  Description: A tall, broad-shouldered man that is surprisingly fit for being Nova's head scientist and usually hidden away in a lab all day. But a healthy body and mind allow him to pursue his research with more vigor, so of course he should keep himself in shape. His hair is forest green disorderly mess as the most effort he puts into it is keeping it out of his purple eyes. Since he rarely ventures far from the labs he's far more likely to be seen wearing a lab coat than his Admin uniform.

  Bio: Much like the other Admins, very little is known about Keith before he joined Team Nova, but unlike the other two which the Resistance has had multiple interactions with, Keith has never entered direct conflict with the Resistance. He is called the man that invented StarBurst, the head of Scientific Research and genius in charge of Nova's continued scientific discoveries, and for better or for worse he seems content to stay hidden away from the outside world down in his laboratories. His combat strength is a complete unknown, but even so the Resistance as but a massive reward for his live capture. His brain is their best shot at finding a way to reverse the curse StarBurst leaves on its victims.

Not much is known from Koda but he's one of the first members in team nova but not one of the founding members. He got the role of Nova Scientist by showing how ruthless, skilled, and intelligent he is. He also cares deeply for his pokemon but that's the only things he cares about other than winning a war and science.

"Takes alotta work to be able to go toe to toe with whats out there. Especially when you can't breath fire out your eyes... Err.. Shoot... You know what i mean."

So the first thing you'd note is the fact he is big, really big, like he spent most of his life fistfighting machoke or something. Most folks he worked with joked if he put on a big belt he'd grow a second set of arms or something. But he only did that for halloween. Off topic, but yes, he is big, he is beefy, he hugs like a Ursaring and eats like one to. Standing *static noises*, 236 pounds, he is a spitting image of a beefcake and yet still carries around an aura of approachability, mostly due to the face, despite years of hard work, hasn't actually developed what one might call a Resting b**ch face.

Typically he wears light clothes, prefering function over form when it comes down to it.

"Uhh... Sorry, not too too much of a suprise. Born in Goldenrod, lived there, left on a gym challenge, got my butt handed to me enough times that I realized I ain't gonna be gettin' anywhere. Though at the time I... Uhh... I didn't quite "get" the whole type thing outside of obvious stuff.... Look stop explaining I know now, I was a dumb kid alright? Look, after that, settled down back home, got a job, hated working in factories but had to stick with it. Got enough cash, got schooling, bam.

Became a standard trooper. Simple enough stuff, keeping peace is easy, but yea gotta know that you ain't there to posture and frown. And most the time folks don't need officer's help on a good day if you get me. Plus yea gotta remember which Jenny is which...

So... yea know, years go by. You get more into specialized stuff, how I joined the PACU, have to show yea got the guts to face down a growling houndoom and the smarts to know how to bring it down without hurtin' it. Most folks who abuse mons know that msot folks don't wana see em hurt... So.. They use em against yea. Sound like somebody?

Description: short dark hair, rarely caught without her goggles and gas mask since Team Nova. Her outfit is meant to be sturdy and reliable. Same height as her ampharos.

Bio : former professor student, her dreams of a quiet life of pokemon research has been put on hold until she can put Team Nova down. She misses her pokemon, keeping only two with her. she has put her own research aside and has joined The Resistence. She hopes to help craft a serum to counter Team Nova, but she still needs more intel before she can start. So she is currently running field missions, crafting weapons and tools to help stop the Team Nova menace.

Name: Kugasa Karasuna

Titles: Kunoichi Kugasa, Former Assistant Gym Leader of Fuchsia City, Assassin Crow, Poison Mistress Karasuna.

Description: Standing 5'4'' and weighing 115lbs, Kagusa isn't the heaviest person around though she's perfectly fine with her size and weight because it makes stealth operations easier. She's typically wearing a dark ninja uniform beneath her long black coat (made of Ariados threads) and a mask to cover her face from pollutants in the air (as well as the various poisons she typically works with) . Possessing raven colored hair and eyes, black is her go to color because it more easily blends in the shadow, though she'll wear casual clothes when she has to...and isn't unfamiliar with disguises either.

Role: Resistance Member, Fuchsia CIty Assistant Gym Leader.

Hometown: Fuchsia City.

Bio: One of the earlier students of the Fuchsia City Gym Leader Koga, Kugasa grew up on the streets of Fuchsia City until she was taken in by Koga and trained in the art of ninjutsu alongside Janine (and many other ninja students). She actually used to be a delinquent, challenging (forcing) trainers visiting the Safari Zone to unofficial pokemon battles and extorting money from them until her loss to Koga. Forced to attend the ninja school (or face prison), Kagusa formed a healthy rivalry/friendship with Janine and grew to love the Fuchsia Gym, which doubled as a pokemon ninja school. It was there that Kugasa took an interest in poisons and poison pokemon. Wanting to further her studies, Kagusa undertook her own pokemon journey for five years- while diligently keeping up with her ninja training - before returning home at the age of 18 when she heard that Koga's young daughter had inherited his gym after Koga became a member of the Elite Four. Content to be Janine's shadow, Kagusa helped to run the ninja school by training younger students, only ever serving as acting gym leader when Janine was unavailable.

After Koga's death in 15 CE, Kagusa traveled with Janine to Orre and joined the Resistance created by Blue, undertaking missions and assisting war-efforts as the Assassin Crow.

Description: A 17-year old standing 5'7'' and weighing 140ish pounds, he's a guy with a fairly average stature. Pale skin, blue eyes, and unruly blonde hair beneath his blue cap, his most standout feature his his black eyepatch, which he got during one of his earlier missions. He typically dons a blue (bullet proof) jacket above his white turtleneck, black pants, and calf-length boots. No matter what he wheres though, Alan likes having a lot of pockets.

Hometown: Pyrite City, Orre

Bio: A young tech wiz whose father used to work for Cipher as one of the developing engineers of the Snag Machine, Alan was barely a year old during the events of CE 2. His interest in technology started with his father's notes and grew from there. Scrounging the desert region for scraps, the boy aced his classes and won all tech-related competitions in his small town. Built his first robot at the tender age of 10. A young genius in the making. However, the stigma of having a criminal as a parent would stick with him as he grew up in Pyrite City - bullies and such - which would eventually lead to him dropping out of school and getting an ordinary, dead end job as a technician in Realgam Tower. Not that his hometown had a very good reputation in the first place- full of honorable thugs, hooligans, and whatnot. Alan was no exception. Whenever needed extra cash for toys/tools, or just incredibly bored, he would guiltily find himself hacking into banks and such - a habit that still sticks with him to this day. Shifty fingers as well. However, Alan wanted to break from that mold. He didn't want to be as the bullies claimed him to be and was incredibly bored of his purposeless life until Team Nova came into the picture. When the Resistance (the heroes of Orre) set up their headquarters in Realgam Tower where he worked, he jumped at the chance to assist where he could. Part of the reason was because he wanted to prove himself, but he also he doesn't agree with Team Nova's use of technology to harm nature and fears that Orre will be next (world dominating teams don't tend to remain satisfied with their territory for very long). Training with the resistance, Alan grew to sympathize with many of the resistance members who love pokemon and lost their homes to Nova...especially since he has pokemon of his own he cares for.

Bio: Elite four member Koga's daughter, she was the former leader of the Fuchsia City Gym (Poison). After her father's death, Janine escaped the chaos with a handful of students and pokemon with the help of her friend Kugasa and joined with Blue in Orre where she reopened a hidden poison gym/ninja school to train students (as well as new resistance recruits) in the way of pokemon (and ninja). Even in the current turbulent times, she doesn't want her father's teachings to be forgotten. She took part in the battle of Kalos and is the reason that the Ninja Village of Kalos joined with the resistance.

Role: Resistance Member.

Bio: A survivor and chief of the former Ninja Village in Kalos. Since the death of his beloved Greninja, his family, and destruction of most his village really by the Nova doomsday weapon (some civilians included), he hasn't been the same. He used to be engaged to Janine and is currently working with her to maintain the pokemon ninja ways...though still serves as the commander of surviving ninja squads that still desire to resist Nova. He heads a division for intelligence, sabatoge, and subterfuge in the resistance.

Bio: A pokemon criminal organization that once existed in the shadows of Kalos, it's now only compose of 3 members:

Description: A thirty six year old woman with green hair and blue eyes that often dons a flower patterned blouse.

Personality: Determined, stubborn, indifferent. Despite her brother being killed by Nova, she's made no move to join the resistance.

Hometown: Fuchsia City.

Bio: Younger sister of Koga, she trained at the Pokemon Jujitsu Academy in Johto, ultimately becoming a teacher there when Tokichi became too old to keep running it by himself. However, due to war and Nova's takeover, the school has long since found itself lacking in students. As a result, Aya was forced to close the school and live a fairly regular life tending to the estate and its owner who currently has dementia...or, at least, that's how it would appear.

Description: A twenty seven year old man with icy blue hair, glacial green eyes, and a lean muscular body from police training.

Personality: Levelheaded, Calm, Lazy, Lawful, loves pokemon

Bio: His mother was a Jenny from the Kanto region that moved to Orre when she married and settled down. His father, a surprisingly wealthy miner with a love for pretty stones. Supposedly, his father wooed his mother into marriage with a diamond so large and dazzling it put the stars to shame, but that's a story for another time. It was tradition in his mother's family to name all the female children 'Jenny'...and his parents had been expecting a girl. However, by the time Jen became born, it was too late. The name had stuck. Growing up with a female given name, Jen was naturally a target for mean-spirited bullies though he didn't just take it lying down. Jen gave as good as he got. It was ultimately this that led him to delve into self defense and follow his mother's path as an officer of the law. Pyrite city was full of thugs, hooligans, and criminals to be arrested, after all. Despite being a male, Jen takes pride in being an 'Officer Jenny' like the rest of his family on his mother's side. Though he supports the resistance cause, he's refrained from officially joining due to the fact that the Resistance has employed criminals. Whether they are resistance or Nova, Officer Jen intends to arrest anyone who disturbs the law and peace of Orre.

Description: A twenty-two year old young lady with short pink hair often seen in a nurses uniform.

Hometown: Nuvema Town, Unova

Personality: Shy, Caring, dislikes violence, kind. She'll help the injured whether they are Resistance or Nova.

Weapons: Medical kit, tranquilizer syringes/darts

Bio: Born from the rural town of Nuvema, she knew from the start that she wanted to work as a pokemon nurse like her older sisters. After graduating from a Pokemon Nursing School, Serenity traveled from region to region healing sick and injured pokemon. However, the war changed many things. Unable to agree with the use of Starburst on pokemon, she transferred to the pokemon center in Orre and has been working there ever since (mostly treating resistance pokemon/trainers as a part of their medical staff) though she tends to civilians, Nova POW, and starbursted pokemon brought to the resistance as well. Even if they no longer respond to her ministrations, she believes in preserving the quality of life for pokemon until the very end and readily works with doctors to try and find a way to treat the symptoms of Starburst, if not an outright cure.

Pokemon: Audino
Role: A Princess of the Ransei Region that is currently living under the protection of the Resistance (specifically the Ninja Intelligence) in Alola.

Description: A pale skinned 16 year old with long dark hair, emerald eyes, and aristocratic features.

Hometown: Illusio, Ransei

Personality: Prideful, graceful, tranquil, serene. Despite being under the protection of the Resistance, she doesn't intend to involve herself in complicated political matters like the war between Nova and the Resistance. She only wants to live in peace.

Weapons: N/A

Bio: The youngest daughter of Warlord Kenshin, she was born in the Ransei region during an era of internal strife where each lords of each territory/kingdom wanted to dominate each other for control of the entire region. As such, Hinako often found herself the target of assassination from those who wanted to get at her father. It was on one such occasion, with a blade to her throat, that Hinako found herself warped to safety by her only friend - a cosmog (Tsuki) that she'd helped once. Though 'safety' wasn't exactly true as she simply warped from one warring region to another. Caught in the middle of the battle for Kalos, it was only by sheer luck that she encountered the ninja Kugasa Karasuna. Escaping the chaos with Kuga and the surviving ninjas of the hidden village, Hinako played witness to the destruction of Kalos wrought by Nova's doomsday weapon as well as all the carnage brought about by both sides. Not wanting Tsuki to get starbursted, Hinako settled in Alola, hid her identity, and had been living there under the watchful gaze/protection of the Resistance's ninjas ever since. She realizes that one day she would have to return home to Ransei, but Hinako didn't really want to. She would only be returning to a world of bloodshed where a life was always at risk, a father she didn't love, and likely an arranged marriage for political reasons. At least in Alola, she had her freedom and the ninjas of the Resistance rarely interfered with her life. They only kept an eye on her from the shadows. Most of the time, Hinako wasn't even aware they were there.

Pokemon: Cosmog (Tsuki)
Role: A rogue ninja currently working as Nova affiliate/Contract-employee (since he refuses to be a grunt)

Description: A bandage-masked individual with russet colored hair and golden eyes. He often dresses in dark clothing and carries a large sword on his back.

Hometown: Hidden Ninja Village, Kalos.

Personality: Somewhat hot-headed, efficient, realistic, blunt, mercenary, loyal, fair. He doesn't care who he works for as long as they pay him well. Genzo doesn't hate his enemies nor loves his allies. It's all just about business for him. However, he does conduct business ethically and remains loyal to the client so long as they keep their end of the bargain. The moment it's broken, all deals are off.

Weapons: Standard SB Gauntlet, A big, durable blade supposedly forged within the fires of Entei and is highly resistant to heat. The blade has been modified (by Nova technologies) so that jewel at the center actually absorbs flames, which he can then use to superheat the sword and cut/melt through steel if need be.

Bio: He had already left his hometown in the Kalos region long before its destruction by the Nova doomsday weapon, kicked out of his village and branded a rogue for opposing the chief at the time. Couldn't care less about what happened to it. Since then he wandered from region to region as a ninja/mercenary for hire. Sometimes in was hired to steal something. Sometimes he was hired to be a bodyguard. Regardless of whoever hires him, Genzo treats them all equally. Evil Teams? Crimelords? It didn't really matter so long as he is paid. Currently his job is to serve/protect one of Nova's financers - the young heir of a wine company (Diluc Winery) and one of the richest men in Kanto region at the moment. His employer owns several castles and berry farms throughout the region.

Description: Hiro's lithe physicality puts him at 5'9" tall and 145 pounds. The majority of the weight he carries is raw fat with little muscle. His hair is a pale crimson—nearing a soft pink in coloration. His skin is gently tanned from the occasional exposure to sunlight during outings. He usually dresses his body in plain dress shirts and cardigans. His eyes are cobalt blue with a disarming quality; both his gaze and typical cadence give the impression that he is far from brilliant.

Role: The Resistance: Primarily, he fulfills the duties of a scout.

Hometown: Lilycove City

Bio: Hiro is a former pokemon contest participant who holds notoriety for his inclusion of unconventional species of Pokemon. The bounties from his career include a third-place trophy, a fifth-place ribbon, and a trove of runner-up bows. Some purists spite him for his unconventional methodology among the competition and outside it; the few of his fellows who can find beauty in the bizarre keep him going despite the criticism. Anorith was the star of his team—woven between his natural plume, Anorith slugged through competitions with brightly colored crests jetting from their carapace. Now, the bug pokemon is another head among the many victims of Team Nova. Hiro's temperament is that of a risk-taker, a motivating factor for his contest strategies. It becomes evident again in his admission into the resistance and associated role.

Appearance:

Description: A lithe figure, standing at 5'9" and weighing a bit over 150 pounds. Messy blonde hair, usually wide blue eyes, and a smug expression accompanying them at most times. They usually wear a loos button shirt, split green pants, and laced boots with three inch heels. Caleb also has small black gloves, suspenders, and a large belt tied around their chest. Under all of this is black swimwear and necklace hiding just under the collar of it. Caleb carries themselves with confidence and a surprising amount of poise, graceful on their feet as they walk.

Role: Resistance Member

Hometown: Sandgem Town, Sinnoh

Bio: Previously a Pokemon Ranger, Caleb was just becoming a trainee in the Sinnoh Region with his Buizel when news of Team Nova's appearance came and went; their warnings only considered as ridiculous in those times. Caleb had become a full Ranger when the warnings came to fruition, at first handling the panic and then protecting people from Pokemon they once trusted. The first few years the two managed, but a fateful mission would leave Caleb with Buizel taken and a Milotic at his side in debt to their actions. The two were able to leave the Sinnoh region and join up with the Resistance, a new fire in Caleb to not only protect the pokemon and people around him, but to take the fight to Team Nova as well.

Personality:
1. Confident or cocky, depending on how you feel!
2. Selfless, a bit reluctant at times due to 3, but he lives to help people.
3. Lazy. If Caleb doesn't want to or isn't interested, he'll likely need motivation.
4. Loyal. Caleb's a ride or die, get him on your side and he'll follow you into anything.
5. Brave. While he has his fears, Caleb's adventurous, curious, and brash, which makes the most dangerous kind of bravery.

Weapons/Tools:
Caleb usually carries a small shoulder bag their Ranger Capture Styler, a length of rope, and a collapsible fishing pole with a small case of fishing supplies. Their necklace ends with a dive knife, ready to pull from their swimsuit.

Pokemon:
Buizel (Taken by Team Nova): Buizel named Lily, taken by Team Nova in the Sinnoh Region. They were able to save a large number of Pokemon and their trainers leaving by river, but Caleb lost his partner pokemon Buizel in the process.

Milotic: Milotic named Coral, rescued from Team Nova by Lily. During a fight between Rangers and Team Nova over a ship leaving by the river, Coral appeared attempting to calm the battle with their presence. Although in a Milotic's nature to try to quell peace, Team Nova only ignored this and attempted to capture them. Lily charged in, demanding their attention and forcing capture on herself in order for Coral and the others to escape. Coral found Caleb later swimming away from the Sinnoh Region after the ship, joining him in their fight, both rallied by Lily's actions.

Name: Rikki Aoki

Appearance: Rikki appears a bit younger than she actually is. Standing around 5'0" and weighing around 116 lbs. she is hardly the most dangerous member of Team Nova. Despite her ultra pale skin she thoroughly enjoys the sun and used to spend most of her time at the beach by her hometown watching water Pokemon swim around, especially Garchomp. Because of her obsession with the shark Pokemon she prefers to dress in her signature blue dress and shark designed overcoat (Minus the tail). She wields a trident shaped staff that serves as a kind of tazer/ sharp stabby thing (Provided by Team Nova technology). Since she isn't skilled in hand to hand combat, she carries it around for protection as well as her own Pokemon.

Hometown: Sunyshore City, Sinnoh

Role: Team Nova grunt member

Bio: Rikki grew up in Sunyshore City in Sinnoh with her father, stepmother, and older stepsister. Her father was a fisherman and would take her and her stepsister Lila on the boat every weekend. Due to all of her time spent by the water she grew an attachment to water Pokemon, especially Garchomp. Rikki admired the power it had and enjoyed watching her stepmother's Garchomp's softer side despite its fearsome appearance. Like many families, Rikki's family was affected by Team Nova's takeover as well. They took Garchomp, much to Rikki's dismay. Feeling brave she went after it, only to get taken too. After time spent in their many bases, she eventually joined them to preserve herself. After a few months she came around to their beliefs. She had never battled with a Pokemon and preferred to play with them rather than having them fight. She saw no harm in their actions if it meant saving Pokemon. Team Nova never hurt her family anyways, only took away their Pokemon. That had to count for something, right?

Appearance:

Laurel is a 5’’7 young woman, lightly tanned skin, a smattering of freckles and curly brown hair that's normally pulled back. Only thing not average about her is her eyes, which are a surprising pale green, and her muscular build. That and the burn scars that are all over her hands and arms.
For clothes, she's always seen in a green hoodie and blue cargo pants with tons of pockets. Along with that, she has black hiking boots on her feet. In the way of accessories, she has a green striped scarf, light blue fingerless gloves and an antique Silver Wing attached to a silver chain. She’s not sure where it came from, she’s just had it her entire life.

Role: Resistance Science Lady
Hometown: New Bark Town, Johto
Bio: oh boy there’s so much.
Okay, after surviving a house fire that killed her entire family in Blackthorn city, Laurel was found and later adopted by the illustrious Professor Elm, whom she loved like a real father. He gifted her with her first ever Pokémon, the Chikorita she named Luna. She finds an Eevee in a trap out in the woods about a year later. She names the Eevee Cherry.
Laurel starts to train to become a Pokemon Professor under her adopted father, however, tragedy strikes when Team Nova takes over Johto and hunts down Elm, because he was always outspoken against them. Not to mention he was apparently trying to reverse-engineer the Starburst machines to reverse their effects. He is killed for this. Laurel takes his research, her Pokémon, now a Bayleef and an Espeon, and then she runs. She finds her way to the Resistance and sets up base there.

Name: Benji Sato

Appearance: Benji is stands at around 5'11" but seems taller because of his slim figure. His dark eyes don't stand out much, so he prefers to put on a bit of red eyeshadow to really make them POP! His hair is dyed red but is slowly fading into a mousy brown, and he enjoys dressing extravagantly in fancy black clothing. He has multiple piercings in his ears, one in his nose and his eyebrows. He also has multiple scars across his body that he rarely tries to hide but absolutely hates talking about. Some were from the cops back in the day, some were from getting burnt by the fire pokemon or his own weapon, and others were simply from fighting with the other members in his past group.

Hometown: Lavaridge, Hoenn

Role: Resistance team member

Bio: Benji grew up in Lavaridge, Hoenn with his mother, father, and two little twin brothers. From the beginning he had a fairly rough life. His parents loved him and his brothers very much, but they were down on their luck and had little to no money. He spent most days taking care of his sick family members and Pokemon (Oftentimes getting sick himself), stealing food, etc. Not to mention the town had already been dealing with theft and violence from other kids. From it's earlier days the town had certainly grown, but the good thing was that Team Magma had been beaten long ago so their influence wasn't a problem. One day while nabbing some food, Benji happened to be right in the path of the kids who came to make trouble more often than not. Their goal was to take back over under a similar name and finally get all the food, nice clothing, and homes. Agreeing to join under the pretense he could help his family, Benji soon realized his mistake. These kids were ruthless, and months after he decided to leave. It wasn't easy, but he was finally able to shake them off. However this was when Team Nova's takeover was becoming an actual problem. Feeling the need to make up for past mistakes, he decided to join the resistance.

Standing at roughly 6ft 3 in height, Mikhail has a lithe yet muscular build honed through years of arduous training as well as during his travels through the wilderness. A former Safari zone game warden, Mikhail is one of the many individuals that had their life turned upside down during the events that led to Team Nova's rise to power. Formerly someone who sought to protect the wild pokemon from poachers and those that had ill intentions, Mikhail has now taken a step onto the other side; his love for pokemon welfare dying the very same day that his family perished among the onslaught of the rampaging pokemon. Outnumbered, outmatched and stricken by panic, Mikhail alongside his fellow Safari Wardens could only do so much before the wild pokemon broke free from the reserve; the pokemon driven mad by bloodlust heading straight towards the nearby town and creating havoc upon the unsuspecting and for the most part defenceless citizens.

As one of those that had initially dismissed Team Nova as a group of stark raving lunatics, Mikhail had quickly come to see them as an organization capable of stabilizing this now chaotic world. The elite four, the gym leaders and those in power had done nothing to quell the rampage, they merely sat upon their lofty thrones and waited until it was too late for their help to hold any meaning; at least to the grift stricken Mikhail who could only cradle his deceased wife and daughter who had perished during the rampage.

Driven into the ranks of Team Nova, Mikhail's former love for the conservation of pokemon no longer exists and instead has become the 'preservation' of humanity. Seeing Team Nova's ideals and views to pokemon control as the ideal solution to preventing these massacres from occurring ever again, the Warden now turned hunter has made it his mission to destroy any notion that pokemon deserve to run free and wild.
~Electro Whip~
A skilled practitioner with the whip, this is easily Mikhails Primary weapon for close range combat. This bladed whip has been modified to enhance its combat effectiveness. Deceivingly short, the whip can extend to double its length as well as send an electrical charge through its mono-fibre cable at the press of a button. Additionally, as a whip, Mikhail can use its ability to wrap around other objects to his own advantage. The main components for this weapon aside from the Starburst technology are the scales of a Gyarados and the silk of a Galvantula.

~Black Carbon Limbless Crossbow~
Mikhail's secondary choice of weapon comes in the form of a limbless crossbow. Made from black carbon, this weapon is designed to be the optimal 'hunters weapon'. Possessing great accuracy and power, this limbless crossbow has brought the ancient ranged weapon back to the modern era. Capable of holding several bolts on its side and possessing a scope, this weapon was once the bane of Mikhail's existence. However since his change of heart, it has become a tool that had aided him in his missions as a grunt of Team Nova. A weapon fit for a hunter.

~Quickfire Crossbow ~
Mikhails tertiary weapon is a small quickfire crossbow. With a much shorter range than his limbless crossbow, this weapon has sacrificed range and power in favour of speed and mobility. Lightweight and easy to manoeuvre with. This small crossbow is often used in conjunction with his whip. Similar to a gun, this crossbow utilizes a cylindrical cartridge to store its projectiles and can fire them off in rapid succession.

~The Boomer Styler ~
Mikhail's Capture Styler comes in the form of an energy boomerang. Like a standard boomerang, Mikhail must use force to launch the device towards the intended target. Once airborne, the boomerang releases a contrail of starburst energy as it flies towards the enemy. Using advance Nova technology, a faint laser locks the boomerang onto its target and once it is within a certain range, the styler begins to encircle the pokemon before capturing it and bending the pokemon into submission.

Description Standing at 5 foot even and weighing only 85 lbs she is short and scrawny. Nikita has a deep tan from long exposure to the sun with very little protection. Bio: Nikita's story starts with her parents Alfred and Jasmine who were scientists working for team rocket. The two would watch as team rocket created what they thought at the time was the strongest pokemon. The project was a success and their creation turned against them. The mansion they had worked in was destroyed and most of the scientists were killed but Alfred and Jasmine managed to somehow survive. The two would secretly gather up what research remained and flee having been convinced no one should know how to recreate mewtwo and fearing mewtwo itself. The pair would go far from most known lands deep into barely explored waters to find an uninhibited island. The island had no name and didn't even have pokemon on it, this made the pair feel it would be the safest place to hide out from their new enemies. The two would create a home and a secret bunker to keep the stolen files and settle into their new life. In truth it would have been smart to not have a child to keep it to just the two of them given the lacking food of the land, but well life has its surprises and thus Nikita was born. Fate had a strange twist as the pair would not last long. In 6 short years the pair would catch some normally minor illness but lacking any means to treat it they would die leaving Nikita alone on the island. Before their death they would tell Nikita of the hidden vault and how to get in.
Nikita would be alone for years on the island living peacefully and quietly on her little island. That was till recently. Strangers came and Nikita being unsure and honestly rather scared by strangers hid and watched the strangers. While she knew nothing of the world beyond she heard the words nova and research mentioned by the strangers over and over. The strangers would tear through her house, which was in a rather dilapidated state, and even dig up her parents. They would not find her or the vault as they searched the island. Viktor stands around 6'2" though he often seems bigger with his broad shoulders and decently muscular frame underneath his thick clothing. He is a man with a razor's edge, with his sharp, red eyes as dark as wine , calloused, scarred hands and bullet scars littering his torso, silently telling the story of Viktor's accomplishments.
Additionally, Viktor's countenance is almost always sour, as the man walks about with a frown that rarely ever disappears from his lips. Pair that with the man's loose, unkempt graphite colored hair that he is unwilling to change and his well groomed goatee and mustache combo and Viktor has the look of a man perpetually annoyed.

Now, Viktor's choice in clothing is antiquated and fantastical, making him appear as a poor imitation of a noble from ancient times. Still, the man's hunger for the fine things in life drives him to continue to dress in the older style. Viktor will never be seen without his trim, black slacks, his shiny, matching loafers, his white, long sleeved button up shirt with red cuffs bearing golden trim, or his vest styled in the same color and design as his cuffs, along with its long, flowing white ducky and ovular pale purple brooch. The man does also wear a long, black cloak with a red interior, lapels, frayed bottom and a golden chain link clasp to hold it in place, but this is only worn when Viktor decides to work outside of his office.
Biography:

Growing up in the harsh, snowy climate of Snowpoint City as a young man living in a low income, single parent household, Viktor often yearned for the simple things many took for granted. He did not desire toys, expensive Pokemon or a tricked out bike. No, what Viktor wanted, what he desperately needed was food and a stable roof over his head, neither of which were to be found living with his old man. That is why Viktor ditched his hometown the very minute he had all the necessary supplies to begin a journey in search for opportunity.

Fate found Viktor in the Unova region two years later, where the young man had the good fortune to beg his way into Castelia City. Then, his fortune further improved when Viktor unknowingly stumbled into a back alley deal within the city. The young man was mistaken for one of the men’s associates, after which he was then strong armed into following and assisting them in selling firearms to poachers. Eventually, it was discovered that Viktor had no ties with that man, but by that point a month had gone by and Viktor had proven his worth as a thug and he was officially given a job working for an arms dealer.

A decade worth of work and “Managerial Alteration” later saw Viktor sat upon an Empire of his own making. He owned the Unova Region in all but name. There was nothing Viktor could not do within the Region and he even had minor workings of his business making progress in the Sinnoh and Hoenn Regions. Then, Team Nova came and cut into Viktor’s trade. With the new Starburst technology, half of Viktor’s business was taken away from him as his couriers bringing in new and exotic Pokemon were attacked along their routes. Enraged at the gradually increasing loss of his profits, Viktor decided to turn to the only force that could help him with his problem: The Resistance. Viktor would sell his goods to the Resistance at cost, provided they protect his couriers.

Lune Cross

Appearance: Lune has black and red long hair that rests comfortably at her thighs, a fair complexion, grey eyes, and wears dark colored clothes. She also wears a long chain around her waist that acts as a sort of belt.

Description: Lune is a 5'5 tall petite, 20 year old woman. She normally wears dark clothes to try and make herself appear less intimidating to others and to seem more petite than she actually is. Lune has a nice and curvy figure that she likes to hide with dark colored clothing, wears black almost all the time.

Origin: Lune was born in Sinnoh, but grew up traveling across the regions to avoid conflict and to live as peacefully as possible.

About Lune: Lune grew up having to travel a lot and as a result has lost a couple of valuable material items throughout her life. Lune was unofficially adopted by "The Emperor" during his rise to power. Lune could have left at anytime she wanted, but due to her overwhelming loyalty and gratitude has made her stay. Lune is the top runner for "The Emperor", and collects the important shipments. She hates to see her boss upset or angry and does her best to ensure that everything runs as smoothly as possible.

Once a name whispered around the world as the next 'big star' in the movie industry, Fitzroy Bennington is a man whose bright future was stolen from him thanks to the life changing events that occurred prior to the rise of Team Nova's domination. Famous for his roles in many films, most notably in the 'PokeFather Trilogy' and 'Scarf Ace', Fitzroy was a face commonly associated with the dark and edgy world of Movie Crime and Film Noir. A talented actor whose on screen presence once marvelled many audiances around the globe, this former actor of the Pokestar Studios has in recent years found his once glamourous life to be on the rapid decline.

With the PokeMovie Industry coming to a complete halt due to the Pandemic, Fitzroy soon found himself to be unemployed and increasingly short of funds; the lack of available movie roles and his habit of 'splashing the cash' being his immediate downfall and descent back into the lower class realm of the 'everyday man'.

Somewhat delusional and convinced that he was a real life badass like the many roles he once portrayed on screen, Fitzroy using his skills as an actor as well as his former celebrity status had managed to pull a few strings and weasel his way into the resistance ranks, putting on the facade that he is truly a capable trainer and fighter and someone who could help turn the tide in favor for the forces of good.

Truthfully however, Fitzroy is not much of a fighter and is in fact more of a coward than anything else. So caught up with himself and his on screen personas, the real man behind the screen is a far cry different to the badasses he pretends to be and will soon come to realize that harsh difference between reality and fantasy.

A prop tommy Gun that Fitzroy has kept from his time filming 'Scarf Ace'. The gun itself is harmless and is only capable of firing blanks, however due to the magic of the film industry and Fitzroy's own delusions, he has convinced himself that this gun is capable of firing real bullets. It doesn't help when the mischievous Chaplin and Vinci aide in his delusions by using their pokemon moves to add real world special effects.

Description (required even if you use an image) - A burly teen built like a freight train could in a few years probably lift up a car, they don’t know how to take care of their dark brown hair which for some reason despite their age grows across their whole body, fitted with a mix of music merch and makeshift armour makes his appearance scare off any light hearted person. Bio - Doug grew up in his families castle as an only child, his ancestors were the previous rulers of their region but were overthrown with a democracy that was overthrown by a monarchy that is being overthrown by Team Nova. His parents still claimed to control the region but everyone knows they are just desperate for power and the uprising's overthrew them years ago. Doug rejected his parents status and wanted nothing to do with them, rebelling in every which way he could including making his appearance seem ragged and unkempt it was also in this rebelling that he developed his taste in music, rock. After years of hating his life he decided to do something good and joined the rebellion region leader and was transferred to the Orre region.

Name: Oswald Grecko

Description: He is on the older side, around 43. The lines in his face and the grey in his otherwise deep brown hair betray this. Average build, strong jaw line, green eyes, light skin that gets burnt easily. He likes to wear "Hawaiian" shirts, were the climate allows, and otherwise wears flannel shirts.

Role: Other. He is keeping his head low, but intends on helping the resistance.

Bio: As a child, he didn't like battling pokemon as much as he liked watching them. His family kept pokemon as pets, however. This lead him to his career as a Pokemon League Commentator. He grew to have a wife (Rosaline Grecko), and two daughters (Rosaline Grecko Jr. and Matilda "Matty" Grecko). Even in his domestic life, he only kept an Eevee as a family pet. His eldest daughter, however, loved pokemon battling, and was very skilled at it too. She left at fifteen to take the gym challenge, of which hers lasted a year, and ended up in the Pokemon World Championship at the Indigo Plateau, the very one that ended in the Bloody Indigo incident. Oswald had been in the Sinnoh region commentating on a smaller event that took place a week before, and he had been in his hotel room, watching the event when it happened. He saw everything before the feed was cut, miles and miles away, knowing his daughter was there. Later that night, when he heard on the news that nobody, except for Blue, had been confirmed to survive. He never returned home, and fell off the grid without a word to his family, barring one single phone call to his wife the night of the Bloody Indigo incident. Months after, in his ensuing travels to gather a team, he came across a clip that confirmed his daughter's death. She was killed at the hands of her own Ninetails. He has since travelled to various regions, starting in the ones he wasn't as known in. This included Sinnoh, Unova, Alola, and Galar, which is where he is currently, gathering and training not only a trustworthy team, but also backup pokemon, just in case. He is also working on gathering information on Team Nova in secret, but has kept his difference from the Resistance, choosing instead to watch them from afar until the time is right.

Belinda was a free spirit untied to any town. After receiving medical training, the woman spends her time traveling through Sinnoh in wanderlust and joy. She made a living by offering healing services where Pokemon Centre was far and whatever part-time job she could get her hands on. Traveling alone, she was easy prey for Team Nova. Her Staraptor and Luxray died, her Blissey was hit by a Starburst while she barely escaped with her Togekiss.

War enveloped the region. Belinda took refuge in Hulbury, Galar. That peace, too, didn't last long, as Team Nova soon attacked the region. Belinda didn't run this time. She stayed in Hulbury, helping to protects others who stayed from Team Nova and healing anyone who needed her help. One day, a passing Resistance Member mentioned something. He saw a flower field in the north of the Galar Region. After investigating the veracity of the story, Belinda packed her belongings and prepared to travel once more.

Legends from long ago told the story of a barren Floaroma Town until someone uttered their gratitude for nature and the town flourished into a field of flowers. If this field was similar... she might encounter it.
