Experiences Where did you roleplay before you came to RPNation?

So, we're gonna go a long ways back, like we're talking 2005-2006. Probably before some people on this website were even born. LMAO.

When I was in sixth grade, I started actively roleplaying. I did it with my friends in school, and we would actually play-act out the scenes. My best friend and I also did textual roleplays, and we texted each other or wrote them in notebooks. I had several notebooks filled by the time I graduated high school in 2011.

Technology has made this a very different scene for me. I roleplayed on Gaia Online for a very short time, and then moved from Gaia to Discord. I actually have my own server on Discord for roleplaying, and I host about 15 different people on my server. It is completely run by myself and a couple of friends. <3 I also still roleplay with my best friend, and we do that every day through texting.
 
Animal Jam. i would see all these peeps acting like stray animals and kids in adoption that needed a home and so i acted like one..... the best that i could back then, not just because of my nonexistant roleplay abilities, but because i was trying to do it back when nonmembers coudnt chat. that was hell, but later on nonmembers got chat, so i could actually roleplay. i still got a roleplay before that update ^^

i took me about a year and a half (after the AJ chat update) that i actually found out what roleplay was. so i roleplayed for that long without even knowing it. oh, i was about 8-9 years old
 
I started on the Pokemon Mystery Universe forums though later shifted to MSN and Chatango in 2009. Eventually, after I became disinterested in those, I switched over to Wikias and Xats. A couple of years passed before I switched to Skype for some time. I started Roleplaying on RoleplayerGuild during this period and still visit the site from time-to-time. I eventually abandoned Skype in favor of Discord and mostly switched away from RoleplayerGuild for other sites like Iwaku and then eventually RPNation. I wrote on some other sites, like Facebook, VK, and Tumblr, for some time too, though it was for a short period of time at the very most.

My RP journey from the beginning goes like this.

ICQ-->AIM-->MSN-->Gaia Online-->Skype-->KIK-->Discord

I was finding partners via reddit, but that place is getting to be unbearable so now I'm here!
 
I started role-playing from forums on Gaia. It was really a casual start with just actions that I would describe with my friends. Then, I started to browse over sandbox role-plays and really enjoyed those. After that, I think it was only a matter of time until the writing bug bit and I went over to casual paragraph role-playing.

i pretty much exclusively wrote in pirates of the caribbean and medieval tavern boards where every rule section included "no mary sues/gary stus" and "no despies."
those were the days.

Only the real ones will know what I'm talking about. I started off roleplaying on Neopets--THAT'S RIGHT.

I did migrate from GaiaOnline to check this place out though. Hopefully it works out so I can just abandon the other place, haha.
 
I originally started roleplaying on FeralFront, but back then it was still called Warrior Cats RPG

I also did some roleplaying on skype, and a few online games like Feralheart, Last-moon, and other colorful animal MMOs from the 2010s lol
 
As a wee lass I got started on neopets, moved to email/IM, then to livejournal, when LJ fell apart I moved to dreamwidth, then stopped rping for a good chunk of time. Came back to DW in recent years but it's a much smaller community now. I tried rping over discord but didn't really care for it, and now I'm here!
 
I started online roleplaying on either the Terraria Community Forums or Discord, I forget which. I'm pretty sure it was Discord though. I literally made my account today.

I miss LiveJournal so much!! That place was a haven for weebs like me back in the day.

Warrior Cats RPG (which became FeralFront) was my jam for a long time, but before the change in leadership. I loved that place and I'm sad it's no more. I hope to find my place on this site now!
 
Well, my thing is that I’ve been writing since I was like 9. I guess at one point I decided to try roleplaying a while back. I’m very literate with it. I used to do just furry stuff but now I’ve kinda broadened my horizons a bit.

It’s sad though, I’m like the only RPer who doesn’t play DND. My mother once said I’d be a good DM but I don’t know if I can make stuff up right there on the spot, as creative as I am.

But anyways, I think I began on Discord. But then I did furry stuff on FurryPile, then found this place where I had more options.
 
Gaia, and just recently left, (well, against my will) because they've had my account on hold for "suspicious activity" since February, and I have yet to hear anything from staff. There goes 12 years of my life, boop. :b7:
 
I used to RP on Facebook since it's the only site I've known back then. I didn't even know RP sites exist lol. My face claims back then were KPop idols and I was used to giving fanservice to people and plotting stuff with other roleplayers. I also used to RP with my friend via PM back then too! The good old days even though my rp-ing back then was cringy 😆
