Pit

S.D. Rookie

  • The Rookie's Premier

There was so much going on, and too little time even to take a simple moment to get an explanation. By the time he approached, their adversaries had already narrowed in, dividing them, picking them off. The canine, of the size of a grizzly bear looked to be nervous, scared even as he turned in a full circle. As the holler from Tadashi called his attention toward him, but to his fortune, he seemed to have it under control. Or..maybe he doesn't...the man behind him, Pit stepped forward, however, Tadashi had already zipped behind the foe and delt with him quickly before the rookie's second breath.

Pit gulped, his access to air seeming to lower by the second as he looked around the fast paced event before him, they were everywhere, and they only seemed to increase in numbers. If it wasn't for the guided words from the gang leader, Pit would have remianed but a frozen goat amidst chaos. It was obvious that this-...was definetly a first.

A nervous nod came from him as he then turned to the quickly approaching machete-man. His eyes widened as he threw himself at Pit, his sword poised to slash right through him. Instinctively, he brought the hockey stick up to the block the attack, however, as would a slick blade slice through clean butter, the mere stick became two. Looking between them for a moment, Pit dropped them as the machete man swung at him again, though just barely being able to evade a critical wound as it sliced across his chest. Pit let out a small high-pitched whine as the blade came back around, this time although, tripping on his own two feet, the blade just barely missed his nose. On the ground, he took the spare half of the hockey stick, adn flung it at his foe, being the only thing he could think of at the moment as he got to his feet.

Spinning horozontally at unmatched speed, the machete man was knocked backward yet again as the wood collided with his chest. He withdrew a frustereated puff of air as he regained himself.

A scoff came from him, "heh, you can't be serious." Now mocking the poor mutt as he backed away. "What's wrong pooch!? C'mere boy hehehe..." Never in his life, never, had his heart beat this fast. With his focus toward the man, he didn't at all have his attention on his back, not until it was too late, as a crowbar made hard contact with his shoulder. To be frank, he could barely feel it, as there was at least 4 good layers of msucle absorbing the impact; but it scared him out his mind, and Pit let out a yowl before throwing his arm into him. Sending the mugger hard into the wall; it cracked in the man's wake. However, before he knew it, another man came at him with a bat, and let it fly into Pit's knee. Another whine as Pit leaned forward, but only to have the same broken half of the hockey stick broken upon his muzzle. That-..that hurt, and the audacious growl that came out of him made it known. But before he could returnt eh favor, there were more on him, literarly, as two had jumped onto his back, and began to hit Pit as hard as they could.

Now being overwhelmed and ganged up on by at least 7 full grown men, he did the only thing he knew how to do best, why Pit, humilated, hurt, tired, and scared, crouched down and buried his head underneath his immensive arms and absorbed blow after blow. The man-dog, the size of a grizzly bear, feared his life as he only waited for everything to stop, to go back to teh way ti was. To go back to the car, to go back the temple, to go back to his job-..his life. At this point, he was so in himself that he barely felt the impact of metal and hard wood upon his ripped and toned muscle.

"What the hell would this be??....Pffsh.." The familiar voice returned to his senses as the machete man approached. "Am I killing some goliath? Or-" He let out a laugh as he looked down to the cowering mutt upon the ground. "Or am I just putting down some dumbass dog?" He said as he raised his blade.

As if to answer his very prayers, Pit then heard a sudden, *AAGHZHZZZZGZ*... Before it was followed by the prompt fall of bodies.

    Then- silence.

The voices around him were blurred, unpercievable as Pit remained motionless, actually, no- he wasn't. The poor canine was shaking as if he had seen a ghost, and it seemed he hadn't yet realised that their opponents were all but KO'd, and the attack had resided. Everything had happened to fast, with so much, and he- had been ready for none of it. What the heck had Balto got him into?? With his poor suit ripped to near shreds, and his body wet with sweat, it seemed Pit had took quite the beating, fortunately, that was not the case. The poor rookie just had an experience of a lifetime, and what he had yet to realize, was that it was only the beggining.

«Я раздавлю тебя до смерти».
Yelena Zaytseva
Yelena stared up at the name scrawled into the facade above the doorframe in flowing, flowery script, her face a sullen mask. On the inside, however, she was having something of a revelation.

Ah. Now she understood what Bash had meant by his question. Cats.

She walked through the open door and let the warmth of the place wash over her. The very next thing she did was give the place a solid sweep, searching for potential threats. She found none. Just a few patrons and many, many cats.

Yelena let herself be lead and seated without protest, though she’d have preferred not to sit with her back to the entrance. Old habits.

Before she could comment on his choice of establishment, Yelena was being asked to come up with an order. She had no idea what a place like this even served, let alone what Gyokuro was. But Bash had so generously offered to pick up the bill, so...

”I’ll have one of whatever yourrr most expensive drrrink is. Extrrra sugarrr.” She said in her typical tone, deadpan, expressionless. She was not kidding. Or if she was, she was fully committed, now. The server left them with a slight shake of the head and Yelena turned her attention back to Bash, apparently uninterested in explaining herself or her order. Her eyes only seemed to light up when the decadent, whipped cream tower arrived at their table. She took a large scoop of cream off the top with her finger and her eyes fluttered closed. "Mmm. Delicious."

When the server left them it was back to business. Yelena cupped the mug in both hands, warming them against it. Bash, naturally, was curious about Mendez. More specifically, why someone like Yelena would be looking for a person like that, now, after all this time. Yelena replied, "Who knows?" in a way that made it abundantly clear that the person who knew was her, and the person who wouldn't be finding out was sitting across from her. Yelena did have her reasons...

"Oh." Yelena did not react when the cat leapt up, uninvited, to join their conversation. Her, 'oh' was in response to Bash's wholly unexpected - though the more she thought about it, the less out of character it seemed - reaction.

"Friend of yours?" Yelena asked, gesturing to the cat which was obviously quite taken with Bash, at least as much as he was with her. Yelena tried her best to hide the smirk that was tugging at the corner of her lips.

"Jesus Fucking Christ C.C., can you not fucking do that for once in your stupid fucking life." A feminine voice--one which he's never heard--engenders sheer stupefaction upon C.C.s face as he spins a full 180 in search of its source. A small speaker lies at his feet, at which he narrows his eyes to identify it as such before emptying his guts onto the floor behind him.

That's when he uses his phone to invite Raven out with him and Alistair--a poorly typed message, but one she seems to understand. She hands C.C. her speaker, and in that same feminine voice, it says, "Sure but you better keep your hands to yourself."

C.C. blinks at it, "Well isn't this just a nifty little gadget...?" He lifts it in the air and inspects it, turning it, almost dropping it, then tucks it safely under his arm when someone else approaches. It's Pascal, a Tiger whom C.C. has not had the pleasure of formally introducing himself to.

"Hello again," Pascal signs to Raven, his hands becoming C.C.'s primary focus, "I hope you're enjoying your day."

C.C. leans in front of Raven then with a cheesy grin at the newcomer, spreading his fingers in a peace-sign, "Hi," he greets, holding out that same hand now for Pascal to shake it, "I'm Cosmo, but I go by C.C.. Wanna go to a rave?" By now, it's been three minutes since C.C. ditched Alistair in his room, so he wouldn't be surprised to find the guy rounding the corner at any moment. On that note, before Pascal can shake his hand, C.C. vanishes with a quick, "Hold that thought," then returns to his room to snatch Alistair from his bed. They reappear before Pascal in a split, and C.C. holds out his hand again. "Where were we?"

(Awaiting post from Alistair, then Raven, then Pascal.)

She figured it was bad that she nearly lost her target. Well, was target the right word when she was tailing her own boss? Either way she was beginning to grow bored of tailing Chikage, it’d be easier and more interesting if they were just sent in with him in the first place. Well she supposed she was the only one Raven sent on the job. At least that’s what she got from the scraps of sign language that stuck from being forced to learn. She let out a sigh as Akira got closer.

She supposed she should thank him. If not for his little jinx and actual ability to drive she might have headed back to the hideout with negative information. If nothing else they weren’t traveling around the city anymore looking for the vague license plate photo she managed to snap while waiting for her ride. Thank god the idiots stayed in the same car the whole way through.

She couldn’t help but sneer at the south district as they started in. Just what were they doing exploring the slums? God this place was just as awful as she remembered. She clicked her tongue in disgust as they skirted around the edges. She saw two cars to the far side and pushed at Akira’s shoulder with a sudden excitement.

“Finally they’re doing something, I thought I was gonna never get to leave the car. You ready Aki-baby

She trailed the little teasing nickname as her face fell into a loving smirk. Akira was plenty hot yeah but he was as fake as she was, which meant he was safe to relax around. After all when all you did was lie just what were you going to hold against each other. She waited until the car started to slow.

“Right now do we go in and fuck shit up? Spy stealthily? Or just straight walk in like we’re expected? How bold are you feeling today?”

MARCH 8TH, 2012: EAST DISTRICT POLICE DEPARTMENT: INTERROGATION ROOM 4

"So, why'd you do it?" The officer sits across from Krueger, tapping a finger on the table. Its legs are welded to the floor; Krueger's hands are cuffed beneath it--customary for most interrogation rooms to prevent criminals from using their Jinxes; though, they differ based on the specific Jinx in question. In Krueger's case, he wears a muzzle.

"...Does it matter?"

The officer shifts in his seat, "It depends."

"In what case?"

The officer ponders his answer then says, "To understand how criminals think."

Krueger scoffs behind the muzzle, "I'm not a criminal."

"Are you not?" a condescending remark on the officer's behalf as he raises a brow.

"Maybe to you, but that's your job... to label people as such."

"Tell me then. How are you not a criminal?"

"I made a mistake."

"You're only seeing that now?"

"You're only seeing me now. You don't know who I am. Don't lump me with petty murderers and thieves."

"Petty murderer is exactly what you are. You killed a man in cold blood- Blew his head off in front of the whole fucking district!" By now, the officer has become hostile, having stood in a burst to grab Krueger by the cage around his mouth and pull him closer, only as far as the cuffs hinged under the table will allow, but Krueger keeps his calm.

The officer asks again, "Why'd you do it?" his voice but a growl through gritted teeth.

Apathetic, Krueger answers him, "I forgot the consequences."

PRESENT DAY: CENTRAL MALL

Smoke rolls off his upper lip and into his nostrils as he lay slumped in the floor, propped against the wall, cigarette in hand.

The Viking-man, unaware of Kimiko's approach, tilts his head at Krueger's comment about the fountain, then Kimiko executes her attack. It sends him to the side but he's still standing; though, he's no longer focused on Krueger, who uses that time wisely to compose himself.

"Oi, fuckface," Kimiko barks out, reloading her bat. "Why don't we take this shit outside, hm? We wouldn't wanna ruin anyone's fuckin' New Year with a live murder, would we?"

The Viking-man rolls his shoulder, chuckling, "That's a nice bat you've got there... Y'know, I didn't get anything for Christmas... Maybe I oughta take it--call it a late present for myself." Meanwhile, Krueger gets to his feet, shaken from the trauma of having flown through a glass wall, some shards of which he wipes from his clothes before he unhooks his club from his pant-loop and holds it to the side.

Now... what's his Jinx?

Krueger examines the guy in an instant, seeking any visible indication of his abilities--and while he doesn't find any, he charges him. However, after just three steps, the Viking-man claps his hands and Krueger is suddenly sent flying again in a manner identical to before, only this time there's no wall to stop him as he barrels down the hall and rolls across the marble floor, sliding to a face-down halt.

How the fuck? He lifts himself to his hands and knees, wiping some blood from his mouth, and looks up to see that the Viking-man has positioned himself with Kimiko to his left and Krueger to his right, allowing him a better view of them both.

He says then, glancing back and forth between the two, "If you're so worried about everyone's New Year, why don't you both turn yourselves in, huh?" He locks eyes with Kimiko, "You for harboring a wanted criminal, yeah?"

BASH HIRABAYASHI

𓆗 Sable Serpents |Junior| Jinx: Embargo
Location: Catmosphere Kitty Cafe
Interacting: Yelena ( Elenion Aura Elenion Aura )
________________________________________________________________________________

A slight twitch could be seen in Bash's eye as he watched Yelena order the most expensive beverage in the cafe, topping the order off with extra sugar, all with the same monotone way of speaking she always used. Right, lets maybe try not being so nice next time. As the server walked away, he had to hold back his urge to hold his arm out and beg him to have mercy on him. Hey, it was a cafe. Whatever Yelena ordered couldn't have been that expensive, right? Right?

Noticing the change in expression as she was served, and when she tasted the expensive beverage, caused Bash to softly chuckle to himself. As soon as she answered his question, though, his lighthearted smile disappeared. Playing hard to get, eh? he thought to himself, lightly tapping on the table. She obviously had a reason to keep such information from him; they had only just met a little under half an hour ago, and this task may be a secret one. But, if it was, then why did she tell him about it in the first place?

As his hand glided along the shining pelt of Misty, he perked up at the sound of Yelena's voice. "Friend of yours?" she asked, her eyes directed towards the feline, who looked back at her without making a single sound. Slightly embarrassed, he shoved his hands into his pockets, prompting Misty to immediately leave once her source of attention disappeared. She'll be back. "No, she just... likes the kind of tea I always order, so she comes to me, an' I pet her a bit. Not that I always come here." he returned his hands to his cup, this time sipping his tea full on. It had cooled down enough for him to enjoy it, so he didn't place the cup back down onto the table just yet. "Anyway," he said, this time forcing himself to look directly into the young woman's glacier-blue eyes. "I wanna help you. With the Mendez thing, that is." Bash knew her type. There were plenty of people, Serpents included, who wouldn't want to work alongside some brazen, impulsive idiot who only lived for the sake of combat, so he had to make himself appear strong. If he were to help the Boss, or whoever asked Yelena to do this task, he had to win her over. "We can find 'im faster if we work together. I know I may not look like the smartest fucker, but I can help ya with whatever ya need, if you'll let me." seriousness oozed from every word, and his gaze hardened onto her. He didn't even realize that Misty was climbing onto him by his jacket, resting on his shoulder shortly after he finished his sentence.

KIMIKO KUGISAKI
"Kimi"
Sapphire Dragons |Rookie|Jinx: Explosion Enhancement
Location: Rose District, Central Mall

________________________________________________________________________________

Tch. Jack shit. Kimiko shook her arm to loosen it up a bit, slightly annoyed by the lack of damage her bat did to the man. As he rolled his shoulder, even chuckling to mock her swing, he spoke. "That's a nice bat you've got there... Y'know, I didn't get anything for Christmas... Maybe I oughta take it--call it a late present for myself." his beard moved with every word, and Kimi straightened herself out, ready for whatever would come next. "Ugly old men don't get Christmas gifts." she took a moment to look at the man. Damn, was he tall. He had to be pretty strong if he was able to take a hit like that and barely bat an eye. All of this information didn't really help with the situation at hand. What she was really looking for was something, anything that would reveal even the slightest clue about the mans jinx--

Suddenly, a loud clap-- and an airborne Krueger flying past her-- forced her out of her thoughts. Looking back at her partner, who was lying face-down on the designed floor, she let out a small sigh. "Geez, I know you're smart, but do you even think sometimes?" she said this mostly to herself, as Krueger was probably too far back to hear, but a small part of her hoped he could catch her words. Looking back to the man, she smirked. I'll admit, though. You just came in clutch with that. Although she was deep in her thoughts when it happened, her eyes were still glued on the events that took place. A clap, and a flying Krueger. Some kind of shockwave?

This meant that they would have to keep their distance if they wanted to get out of this safely. She sucked her teeth, disappointed in herself for her lackluster initial attack. That was probably her only chance at getting close enough to him-- maybe she should have used her jinx. Once again, the bearded man broke her line of concentration. "If you're so worried about everyone's New Year, why don't you both turn yourselves in, huh?" he then looked directly at her. "You for harboring a wanted criminal, yeah?"

Kimi immediately looked around comically, placing her hand over her eyes as if she were searching for an island on a ship. "Golly, Mister," she said, pitching her voice up slightly. "I don't see any wanted criminals here!" she pointed at him, her eyes narrowing. "The man I'm with is just my math tutor! Wait-- you're good at math, right, Boomer? Maybe I should change it... he's my Biology teacher!" as she spat absolute nonsense at him, her eyes were scanning the mall. There were an abundance of stores on this floor: Snug Hub, The electronics store she had hoped they'd go to to get a new phone, Sports Dive... Sports Dive! She immediately shot her eyes to the athletics store. On a rack, were dozens of baseballs just begging to be launched. A malicious smirk rose on her face, and she looked back at Krueger, who was just about ready to get up. Good thing she had bought him some time.

She dramatically looked at the man, before looking back and winking at Krueger. She had hoped he would get the memo. Sorry to make you risk it again, but distract him. She made sure all four pockets of her jacket were unzipped before she rushed towards the store, jumping up and slamming the Bronx Cheer into the ground and triggering another explosive impact. Just as the sound of the impact hit her ears, she tensed her muscles, activating her jinx and creating a second explosion just powerful enough to launch her towards the opening in the glass that was made when Krueger was sent flying through it. She absolutely needed to get those baseballs if she wanted to leave the mall with her friend tonight.

AKIRA SENDO
"Inari"

Albino Tigers |Senior / Bodyguard|Jinx: Item Teleportation
Location: East/South District border, nearing abandoned tunnel
Interacting: Lucidity ( BriiAngelic BriiAngelic )

________________________________________________________________________________

As he pressed his foot against the brake of his car, seeing that it was time to move on foot after noticing the parked cars near the entrance of the tunnel, Akira felt an impact against his shoulder. He put the vehicle to a halt, pushing the gear shifter into park once he found a good spot to stop, and turned to face the young woman who was sitting next to him.

Unlike most people, who typically always had something in the passenger seat, Akira barely used his car, so it was empty. He was slightly hoping that Lucy would sit in the back seat out of habit, but, of course, she had climbed into the passenger seat right next to him. It couldn't have been helped, and he supposed he at least owed her the right to sit in the passenger seat for bringing him along. He was going to see some very interesting people today. He listened to her as she spoke.

"Finally they’re doing something, I thought I was gonna never get to leave the car. You ready Aki-baby?" Aki-Baby. What an odd nickname. He hoped to himself that it wouldn't stick. As she shot him a smirk, he gently smiled back, closing his eyes as he faced her with his fox-like simper. All while her hand lingered on his shoulder. "I'm as ready as ever. Is my car really that bad that you'd want to leave it? I find it to be pretty comfortable." Don't touch me.

His eyes opened to get a better look at the woman. Of course, he knew plenty about her. She was a year older than he was, not that that mattered. In terms of seniority, she had him beat by two years. And most importantly, she was a liar, just like him, and a ruthless person behind closed doors. Of course, Akira found her attractive, both physically, mentally, and in multiple other ways. Mostly as a tool, albeit a most difficult one to use. A positive relationship with her would prove to be useful if he wanted to accomplish his goals anytime soon. Her eyes, however, were quite the confusing ones, always changing, even if it were in the slightest way. They were close enough to be comfortable sitting right next to each other in his car without feeling a shred of tenseness.

He blinked as she opened her mouth to speak again. He had been staring for too long. "Right, now do we go in and fuck shit up? Spy stealthily? Or just straight walk in like we’re expected? How bold are you feeling today?" her question prompted him to look up at the hood of his car as he unbuckled his seatbelt. How bold? His eyes narrowed and a sadistic smile was etched onto his face. Why, bold enough to kill everyone in that tunnel and be done with things. He would be killing multiple birds with one stone. His smile drooped back to his fake expression, one showing genuine thought and concern. It was okay to show some bloodlust around the girl, wasn't it? It wasn't like she would tell anyone-- just scratch it down in her mental notebook and save it for later. "Well," he said, lifting his finger as he proposed his thought. "Katsura Kanna, the ace of the Sapphire Dragons, is in there, correct?" he mused to himself for a moment, before speaking again. "I can't say I'd like to die by electricity if she happens to think we're ambushing her. Besides, we don't know who else could be in there with her." another thought caught his attention. "Then again, Rocchi could be getting ambushed himself in there, but I doubt that, as there are no signs of people being thrown yards away." then again, Chikage being ambushed wouldn't be such a bad thing, as long as he lived. "So, naturally, I'd propose that we give them some time to exit, or at least wait for a sign that we need to go in there." of course, Lucy wouldn't want that. She would want to burst in and see what was going on, especially given her loyalty to the Tigers. With that thought, he turned his head to face her, revealing an alluring smile. "But, I think I'll leave this one up to you. Your wish is my command." he continued to maintain eye contact, waiting for her final decision.

It's past four o'clock in the evening and he's just waking up after having stayed awake until seven in the morning playing video games and reading manga on his phone.

Had it not been for his baby sister rushing into his bedroom--she has a fascination with his action figures--he'd still be sleeping yet. Now, squinting with tired eyes at the scrap of paper in his hand, he makes for the dry cleaners to pick up his mother's business suit, walking at a slumped pace with no eagerness to get the job done fast.

He thinks to himself on a pout, She wouldn' even let me take the cah...

On a huff, August rounds the corner. His head is low until he hears a commotion up ahead, which he instinctively seeks with his eyes, finding a man atop of a seemingly younger girl. Neither of the two does he recognize until he stops--glancing around for maybe someone else who might could handle the situation, as he'd rather not--and he makes out the familiarity of his fellow gang member, Sonny Gomali.

"Uhh..." Even still, he's not sure how to approach the situation, so he casually walks up behind the guy and opens his mouth to ask what he's doing, but that's when he sees the knife, and he quickly springs into action, "Oi, mate! What you doin'!"

August grabs Sonny by the upper-arm and yanks him off of the girl, who quickly scrambles back and to her feet. She points at Sonny with tears in her eyes, voice cracking, "He assaulted me!" and August takes on an expression of sheer menace.

"Wot's 'at?" He pushes Sonny. "Ya fockin' brain-bruised, mate!? She's- She ain't but a kid! Give me one reason why I shouldn' shred ya fockin' bits up!"

At that point, much beyond what he was expecting, the young girl lunges forward and kicks August in the back of the leg, causing him to buckle to his knee and fall forward with his face into Sonny's groin. Before he can really think about what just happened, though, he's back to his feet and the girl is gone. "Wai- Wai- Wot... the fock? Th' fock was 'at!? She kicked me!?"

She's the first person he's ever taken so quickly too. Sometimes he wonders why... often concluding that she's just a replacement for the absence of his younger sister, as wrong as it feels. However, there's one thing he knows for certain...

He trusts her one-hundred percent.

And that's why, when she takes off toward the sports outlet, he lunges forward from a crouched position just in time to stop the Viking-man from chasing after her, sending his capped-club hard across the man's jaw with enough power that it nearly spins him in a full circle. One of his teeth flies from his mouth and rolls across the floor, leaving a speckled trail of blood in its path. Krueger allows him no time to ready and charges again, but this time the man dodges, pivots around Krueger, and throws a punch.

Krueger manages to turn, wacking the incoming fist away with his club, then he uppercuts the man and jumps back to create some distance between them.

The Viking-man spits on the floor, a gooey red that he then stomps and smears with a foot, saying on a chuckle, "You're pretty fast..."

"And you hit like a tank."

"Heh. Thanks," he wipes his face. At the same time as Krueger, he darts forward. They draw close, Krueger's club rearing back as the man's fist; however, when the opponent swings, Krueger ducks beneath it and slides behind him, blowing some vapor from his lungs that hardens into a glass-like sphere around his lips.

This transparent orb, roughly the size of a softball if not smaller, and weighing hardly a pound, drops from Krueger's lips and into his spare hand as the Viking-man turns around an instant. On the inside of it, the vapor has condensed and somewhat liquified. Krueger throws it to the ground at his feet and suddenly it detonates, shattering like glass against the hard floor, and it blasts his opponent away as if he were just some weightless doll. As for Krueger, he's used to it and maintains his footing as the explosion's wind sends him sliding back a few feet, chunks of tile soaring past him.

A howling cry erupts from the Viking-man's lungs as he writhes on the ground, cupping his hands over his face. He curses, rolls, kicks his feet. Not one to beat a man while he's down, Krueger waits, holding a defensive stance. When the screaming finally subsides, the man lies there, Krueger's eyes flickering toward the sports outlet in search of Kimiko.

He then gets to his feet, gasping heavy breaths through gritted teeth. The skin of his face... has melted, only partly recognizable by what's still intact on the right, and by his singed, blood-soaked beard.

"You'll die!" he snarls, "I'll kill you!"

Krueger gulps, shocked that he can still stand. Are you fucking serious!? The cops have most likely been called by now, so his next thought is to make a run for it before the situation escalates for the worst-case-scenario, which would be him behind bars for the second time in his life. Besides, the man is clearly a close-ranged combatant, so he and Kimiko have the advantage aside from being two versus one. The only problem is... How far is he willing to go?

«Я раздавлю тебя до смерти».
Yelena Zaytseva
Yelena took a long sip of her drink – did she detect a hint of cinnamon? – as she listened to Bash explain away the cat‘a proclivity for him.

She was surprised by Bash’s sudden burst of sincerity. That, along with the cat Misty’s apparent fondness for him, made Yelena think twice about her initial assessment of the boy. But still, she had her doubts. Nonetheless, she met his gaze head on, matching his fire with the ice of her stare.

”You vant to help. Why? Why help someone you harrrdly know? What’s in it forrr you?”

In Yelena’s defense, her experience with the Serpents so far had been less than stellar. She doubted that – if a genuinely kindhearted member existed – they wouldn’t last long. Therefore, to her at least, it seemed most likely that Bash – genuine though he may seem – must have an ulterior motive he served that bid him to offer her his aid. Not that she’d mind if that were the case. She just liked to be aware of such things at the outset.

Sonny Gomali | Sapphire Dragons - Rookie | Location: Central District - Beside a residential building | Interacting/Mentioned: August August| Outfit: Shirt, Pants/Shoes, Jacket (not exact)

As a gust of crisp wind rushes by, it sends chills down the young girl's body. Brown and yellow bruises dot her legs in random places. Her hair, being the color of dark chocolate, is bundled in knots and frizzes up as if a bolt lighting had just struck her.

Anyone could conclude she hasn't eaten in days by a single glance at her thin, scrawny figure. Sonny can't help but pity her, though only for a moment.

Sitting on the ground, now visible to the human eye, he clutches his left side with both hands. Unfortunately, playing around proved him stupid--the knife didn't miss, and it had struck deep into his side. The most painful part being when she jerked it back out, and now it stings to the touch. It aches from the inside. Sonny can only hope she didn't hit anything vital, but he's still breathing so that's a good thing...

The girl wavers the knife in front of his face and demands in a harsh whisper, "Now, make this easier for us both and give me your money. I don't wanna' have to kill you for it."

"You really think I have money?"

Saying this, a sneering laugh falls from Sonny's mouth and he gives a smack on his leg, "Hah!"

The sudden movement triggers a shocking pain throughout his side, to which he winces with a short gasp, "Oowowowowwoow~" Two weak coughs follow after.

As a result, blood gushes from the gash and seeps through his fingers, spilling onto the ground. His head hangs low as his eyes slowly move up to meet hers. He grins, "You've wasted your time, lil' chicken. I'm a broke hoe."

The girl squints, saying in a matter-of-fact tone, "You're a Dragon--you most definitely have money."

This earns a few questions from Sonny. Why does she know who he is--that he's a Dragon? More importantly, who is she?

"Waiwaiwaiwait a minute... Why you know me?" You stalking me or somethin'? You a freak?" He says this despite being a 'freak' himself.

"If you haven't noticed, being the blind dimwit you are, I'm a kid with no home. I gotta eat, therefore I need money. I make my money by robbing weak members of the four gangs in New Oasis..." She explains, "I hate them anyways. They corrupted my family and that's why I lost them."

Sonny stares blankly at her, and then it registers in his mind. Completely neglecting her sad story, he scoffs in offense, "Weak? I ain't weak!"

Annoyed, the girl rolls her eyes and stares off in the distance, taking in a deep breath, then exhaling slowly to maintain her calm. This is to no avail, for her irritation takes over. She turns back to face Sonny and fakes a smile, slowly inching closer to his face, saying in a cocky tone, "Then how come you lost to a kid? You're beyond one of the weakest people I've ever faced."

He glances down at himself. It is true that she is standing while he sits with a wound in his side... but that doesn't mean he's given up.

"Alright," He bobs his head, biting his upper lip, "Ya' know what? Bitch-" A sudden fit of rage bursts from him, to which he tackles the girl's legs and knocks her to the ground.

Sonny crawls on top of her and sits his weight on her stomach. She fights his hands reaching for the knife but he overpowers her strength by a significant measure, hence he jerks the knife from her and flips it around.

"Now who's the weakling, huh?" His eyes are wide and his teeth bare in a snarl, "You're just a fucking kid, I could kill you right here!"

The girl struggles to hold him back, trembling in fear at the weapon pointing between her eyes. Tears begin to well and stream down her face.

"P-please! I was... just- just kidding!"

In that moment, before Sonny could shove the knife any further down, a voice calls from behind--one that Sonny could never forget. So distinct... so captivating... so Australian...

"Oi, mate! What you doin'!"

August grabs Sonny's upper arm and yanks him off of the girl, who scrambles backwards and on her feet. She cries, and in a tremulous voice, accuses Sonny of assaulting her, making for a convincing lie.

"Wot's 'at?" August pushes Sonny. "Ya fockin' brain-bruised, mate!? She's- She ain't but a kid! Give me one reason why I shouldn' shred ya fockin' bits up!"

Sonny throw his hands out defensively, "I- I didn't- What?"

Surprisingly--for August--, the girl lunges forward and kicks his leg from behind. He inevitably falls forward, face-first between Sonny's legs. Before either of them could really acknowledge this, August stands back on his feet in search of the girl, but she's nowhere to be seen.

Glancing at the confused August then back at the aura fleeing the scene, Sonny laughs. His wound aches along with it, "Owww- I mean-"

There's a pause as an urge to be strong and play off the injury dawns on him. This being because August is his biggest crush--of the many few--and as Sonny might claim, his future husband.

"Jus' kiddin, I'm not really hurt." The pain of the wound coincidentally increases as he says this. There's no way in hell he was convincing August that he isn't hurt--there's literally blood pouring from his side and covering the ground around them...

Still, Sonny continues to play it off, "I was just... jerking ya- No." He waves a dismissive hand and fakes a laugh. The boy stands from the ground and pats the snow off himself, then looks up at August with a prolonged, goofy smile.

This is awkward...

After a moment of painful silence, Sonny finally gestures aimlessly over his shoulder with his thumb, "Anyway, wanna' go on a date? B-but not like a... a date. No, I mean like a- an eat and talk time at a table in a restaurant thing."

As Lillium kept her attention on him, Grée couldn't help but glare daggers into her non-seeing eyes. These sons of bitches think they have a a leash on him, just wait till he breaks out. He'll rain terror onto their lives once he sees the chance.

Suddenly, a guard runs inside, yelling to abort the mission. Fucking hell what now?! His attention is snatched by a harsh whisper from Lillium, “Fix this.” He sucks his teeth in both annoyance and acknowledgement. To hell with them, they could get killed for all he cared. Matter a fact, he would applaud his attackers if they did end up killing Lillium and her rag tag group a leeches.

Turning to Mixie and Jaiden, he yells in anger, “Who the hell in their right minds would disrupt us?!” He jabs a finger to where the guard from before ran in. “Go check it out, feel free to dismember whoever awaits you.” He crosses his arms carelessly, not feeling even a tad bit threatened. “I’ll stay in here in case any sad sap makes the mistake of entering.” He rolls his eyes and pulls out an already pre-made blunt, lighting it. Trying to make the smoke calm his anger, doesn’t seem to be working but it’s worth a shot. He wouldn’t be wanting to lose his cool, now that there are those who made the mistake of belittling him. How dare they even think of disrupting him, don’t they know who he is?!

August's eyes flicker about the distance, seeking a girl whom he doesn't know has turned invisible, and he rethinks the idea of ever going out of his way to help someone again. Though, somewhere in the back of his cluttered mind, he knows he can't leave things like that alone, as much as he wishes he could.

Now to get some answers...

Holding a glare upon his features, adjusting his coat, August turns his body toward Sonny, then his head, and faces him whilst mumbling on a breath of attitude, "Che- 'At's a last time I 'elp anyone... Anyhow, wot you-"

Suddenly, "Owww-" Sonny grips his side in pain, finally making known the injury August had yet to notice. However, he quickly transitions from suffering to indifference, then jocular laxity in such a way that August doesn't know whether to take him seriously or not; though, by the amount of blood soaking his clothes and the ground behind him, it's probably safe to say he's delirious from blood loss.

August squints despite the thought... Maybe... Somewhat doubting it.

Sonny coughs an all-too-noticeably fake laugh, swatting a dismissive hand as he gets to his feet, "I was just... jerking ya-"

August widens his eyes.

"No." Sonny shuts up--then for a moment, they just stare at each other. August is slouched in his stance, hands tucked to the warmth of his pockets, and he waits, even bobbing his head a bit with a protrusion of his bottom lip until they both open their mouths to speak.

Sonny takes the lead, though, pointing behind him with a thumb, "Anyway, wanna' go on a date? B-but not like a... a date. No, I mean like a- an eat and talk time at a table in a restaurant thing."

Without hesitation, August responds, "Yeh, moight as well. How's about we pay a quick'un to tha Red Cross Donation Centah TO DONATE SOME'AH YA FOCKIN' WASTE THERE MATE!" His voice grows louder, "THEN WE CAN MAYBE AFFO'D A BURGAH, OR MAYBE A FIZZY!? WAIT, NO, YA DON'T GET PAID FAH THAT! MATE, YA BEEN STABBED!"

An overly dramatic hand is directed toward the gash in Sonny's side then, accompanying the passive concern upon August's expression, after which he passes him by and, in doing so, takes him by the arm to guide him down the street whilst pulling out his phone.

Questions can wait.

[...]

Oxie Lancaster is five-years his Senior, and reliably so for her incredible healing abilities and friendly personality. While August, himself, has never been at the injured end of her regenerative touch, he's seen it enough times to know it gets the job done, which is why he called her up to heal Sonny.

She asked questions, Sonny answered. Everything became clear as a misunderstanding, much to August's relief, as he wouldn't want to be known as the guy who associates himself with the gang's pervert.

Anyway... Once they finished up, Sonny and August left Oxie's place and stopped somewhere to eat per Sonny's earlier request.

[...]

"Get wot ya want. I'll pay... It's a least I can do when ya done near been gutted." August sits sideways in his chair, leaning over the table with an arm and holding his head. It seems they've decided on the standard Burger King with it being more cheap than the surrounding restaurants, and he's refusing McDonald's at all costs.

“Katsura Kanna, the ace of the Sapphire Dragons, is in there, correct?” She shrugged. How was she supposed to know. “I can't say I'd like to die by electricity if she happens to think we're ambushing her. Besides, we don't know who else could be in there with her.” She opened her mouth to reassure Akira that it’s not like she didn’t already have a plan but closed it as soon as he continued. “Then again, Rocchi could be getting ambushed himself in there, but I doubt that, as there are no signs of people being thrown yards away.”

Actually, he had a point. Raven never said that she had to do anything unless Chikage was over his head. Not that she planned to do jack shit for Raven but she did in fact want to suck up to Chikage so doing Raven’s errands were necessary. She was torn, with a desire to piss off Raven but also stay in the tiger’s good graces.

“So, naturally, I'd propose that we give them some time to exit, or at least wait for a sign that we need to go in there.” She nodded. He was right, jumping in too early was for losers and scrubs. Besides she didn’t even know who he was talking to. For all, they knew the entirety of the Dragons were laying in wait. Not that that would bother her, from what she understood the dragons were oh such goodie goodie hall monitors.

“Honestly, you’d think Raven would have enough sense to send more than one person or do her own dirty errands.”

She spit out the name with annoyance. She was still sore about the woman who wasn’t even a senior before jumping right to vice. The cabinet of the tigers primarily consisted of such. She was in the gang for eight years and was nowhere near gaining a cabinet seat. If she didn’t catch the higher up’s eyes soon… well she’d need to find an alternate way to dig up information on what she wanted.

She unbuckled her seatbelt and pushed the chair as far back as it would go before crossing her arms in front of her chest. The car really wasn’t uncomfortable but well, she was. The entire day she’d been dancing around the edge she’d found herself on being Raven’s limbs.

“Still, you’re right might as well wait for a sign of something going on before we go in guns blazing. Too bad we’d be done faster if we did.”

She looked back at Akira who thought he was oh so coy trying to hide his own thirst. Well, she may not know what drove him but she’s sure that he was similarly only here because it was the best option. A good shakedown was always fun, especially when you were pretty clearly gonna win. She let a smirk pass her face. Yeah with Chikage there and them as support? Well obviously she could handle the small fry and Akira was pretty good at times if she was being honest. They didn't need anyone else but, it still buzzed around her head.

“Stupid Pascal should have let the mute rot in her self-imposed isolation am I right?”

"It's not just for you," Bash refused to back down once Yelena began to stare back, no matter how intense it was. After all, the woman's suspicion and need for a reason was warranted--the Serpents weren't the most trustworthy bunch, and that was a fact. Many of them would turn on Yelena at a moments notice if monetary gain or a boost in hierarchy made itself known to them, but Bash wasn't like that. But how would he prove himself to her? Misty quickly moved off of his shoulder, instead resorting to headbutting his arm for attention. This damn cat, he thought, his gaze wavering slightly at the feeling of the constant butts. Can't you see I'm tryin' ta do somethin'?

He decided to back down. He was the one asking her to let him help, after all. His eyes flickered away from hers, and as soon as he escaped the seemingly never-ending tundra that was her stare, the warmth of the bistro immediately returned to him, and he felt more comfortable. "It's for the gang. If the Boss--or whoever asked you to do this needs somethin' done, then you best believe I'm gonna bust my ass to help get it done faster." he clenched his fist, still ignoring the constant assault from the black cat, who eventually gave up and laid down on the table. "S'all there is to it. These guys gave me a second home when everything was shit. Everyone used ta think my bro and I were some no-good fuck ups, except for these guys." as much as he hated diving back into the past, a brief image of him standing over an opponent, his fists covered in fresh, crimson blood that wasn't his own, flashed in his mind. "They gave me a reason to live. So I'll give back to them, no matter what it is." He raised his cup to his lips, finishing off the last of his tea, before suddenly getting up from his seat, and signaling for the server to give him the bill.

Upon receiving the slip of paper and immediately shooting his gaze to the bottom right of it, he sighed in relief upon reading the total price. Luckily for him, it wasn't that much. What the hell was he so nervous about? It was just a cafe. Stupid Bash. "Alright!" he said, walking back over to the table, before reaching into his pocket and pulling out a small wad of cash. He put three bills down on the table, and reached over to give Misty one last pat on the head before shoving his hands back in his pockets. "Whaddaya say we get the hell outta here? I've had enough of the shit district for one day." he pointed at the window, his finger dangling directly over his bike, his pride and joy. "I can take ya home if ya want. Maybe give you some time to think?" of course, it was no guarantee that she would accept a ride with from a stranger, even if they were in the same gang, so he offered a second proposal. "If you don't want the ride, at least give me your number so you can call me if you end up running into Silva again. I wouldn't mind beatin' some sense into the guy. Either way, I'll be outside. Come to me when you finish your drink." with that, he pushed the door open, the chime of the bell ringing once again, and stepped outside. He approached his bike and sat down, taking a moment to admire the beauty. It was an old model, but thanks to constant maintenance, he managed to keep it in perfect condition, as if it were brand new. He groaned in annoyance as the wind he had been shielded from for so long finally came back to harass him again, his hair flying back once more.

"Kimi"
Sapphire Dragons |Rookie|Jinx: Explosion Enhancement
Location: Rose District, leaving Central Mall
Interacting: Krueger ( Doctor Llamabean Doctor Llamabean )

________________________________________________________________________________

Of course, Kimi flew through the opening and landed on both of her feet with flawless execution. She looked behind her, only to see an employee of the store peeking from behind the desk. As she reached into her pocket to pull out four blanks and reloaded her bat, which opened up with a quiet hiss, she took a second to speak. "After this, you should probably quit your job~" With that, she hastily grabbed five of the baseballs on the rack, with four of them going straight into her pockets and the fifth one remaining in the palm of her hand. She watched as Krueger launched a violent assault against the bounty hunter, ending it off with a signature use of his jinx. As she focused on the explosion in order to enhance it, she hesitated. What if it killed him? What if Krueger was thrown in jail again? Would he be able to get out this time? Thoughts raced through her mind, and, with a slight grunt of regret, she refrained from activating her jinx, watching as the powerful explosion sent the man flying. Good shit!

She couldn't help but cheerfully pump her fist in celebration of the direct hit, but her victorious grin slowly switched to a fearful, frustrated gasp as the man slowly rose back to his feet. He screamed something that she was unable to make out, still too surprised by the fact that he managed to take one of Krueger's explosions at point blank range and get back up. Maybe she should have enhanced it. In what appeared to be a fit of rage, the man began to charge towards Krueger. Perfect timing. Kimi quickly felt the baseball, rotating it in her hand a few times before tossing it in the air. Her green orbs locked directly onto the ball, with such a high degree of focus that even the loudest sound wouldn't break it. Readying her bat, she waited for the ball to drop to the perfect level, before she slammed into it with all her might, the signature cracking sound blaring from the bat as it propelled the ball forward.

As expected of the baseball prodigy, it was a perfectly accurate hit; a result of the hundreds of thousands of hitting drills she did as time passed. And though it was a perfect hit, it still wouldn't be enough to take the guy down. So as soon as the sparks flew from the detonation of the bat, Kimi turned up the heat and activated her jinx, creating an extremely powerful explosion that ripped through the air and amplified the speed and power of the ball to send it flying at a blinding speed, while also shattering any remains of display glass that remained in the store. It slammed into the damaged side of the man's face, which wasn't planned, but was sure to help with keeping him at bay long enough for the two to get the hell out of there.

Her shoes tapped against the remains of the marble flooring as she leapt through the opening in the glass and rushed over to Krueger, grabbing him by the wrist and rushing towards one of the multiple exits of the mall. "Time to go." she spoke with a demanding tone, but flinched slightly as something came flying towards her. She reached her arm out to catch it, only to recognize the object by its familiar texture. Oh! It was her bag. She looked up at the person who threw it, to see Kelly, from Snug Hug, standing at the entrance and waving goodbye to her. "Thank you!" As she slid her bat back into her bag and tossed it around her arms and over her back, Kimi looked slightly puzzled. Did she think that she was the hero of this incident? Whatever. She shrugged it off, tightly gripping Krueger's wrist as they left the mall. "Which way do we go? Back to the temple?"

Akira tapped his chin in thought. He took a moment to collect his thoughts on the Vice Elder of his gang. She wasn't that bad, was she? He had a tendency to steer clear of the woman, because of the serious nature of her eyes. He was sure that if he stayed around her for too long, she would see right through him. She was a decent person with a good nature, and a bit of a calming air to her. He couldn't say he knew why Lucy didn't like the woman, but if he had to speak on a hunch, it would be that she was in her way. "Who am I to speak poorly about my superiors?" he shrugged, deciding to take a neutral stance on the topic in order to catch a glimpse of her reaction. "After all, It's my job to protect them." it was obvious that there was a strong dislike for Raven, and this made Akira wonder: What if he could manipulate this dislike? If he figured out a way to wrap his finger around one of the hardest people to wrap a finger around, it would bring him closer to his ultimate goal. Besides, it wasn't like the Vice Elder wouldn't be an easy kill. She couldn't hear, after all.

Noticing her pushing the passenger seat all the way back to relax, he blinked. If they were going to be in the car for a while, he might as well spark up some conversation, right? "So," he said, completely turning his head to face her. "Any plans for the New Year? The night's still young, you know." he couldn't say he cared a whole lot about her New Years plans, but it would still prove beneficial to get a better idea about what the woman enjoyed doing on holidays. He supposed the fact that today was his 23rd birthday wasn't important. To avoid questions regarding why he was asking, he spoke up once again. "If we're going to be here for, well, who knows how long, we might as well get to know each other a little better, no?"

"Hayaku--!!!"
Saito Tadashi
Faster. Tadashi thought. He had to move faster!

Snarling as a blow from a baseball bat glanced off his flank, Tadashi rounded on the thug and delivered a swift knee to the man’s groin, dropping him where he stood. Moving like a man possessed, an enraged Tadashi clasped his two hands together above his head, ready to bring them down on the back of the kneeling goon’s neck. How... Dare... You..!

A piercing cry tore Tadashi free of his fury-induced mania. Blinking his eyes to clear the red cloud obscuring his vision, he turned to see Pit bearing the brunt of a beating from numerous assailants.

"Pit-San!!"

Faster, Tadashi willed his body to move. He had to get to Pit... To save him! To—

"GAH!! N-nani—?!"

Tadashi stared down at his feet. Sticky grey slime coated them. Every attempt at freeing his trapped legs only seemed to congeal the mysterious material further. The man who Tadashi had struck began to cackle. Was this that man’s Jinx!? The man wore a mocking smile as he watched Tadashi struggle in vain to break free.

”You ain’t goin’ nowhe—Ack! BZZZZZZT-“

The man slumped forward, small streamers of smoke and vapor rising from his sizzling form. Recognition sparked in Tadashi’s mind. This Jinx... Could it be? Tadashi turned in time to see the approaching figure of a woman.

"Yokatta..!"

Tadashi breathed a sigh of relief. Kanna! His legs now freed — apparently that man’s Jinx lost its effect once he lost consciousness — Tadashi trotted over to the others... That is, until the sight of an unexpected enemy stopped him in his tracks. The Tiger’s Elder, Nakazajo Chikage!

He subconsciously reached for his concealed weapon, believing now to be the time to use it, if there ever was a time. He did not speak, merely glaring at Chikage as he stalked up beside Pit.

"Hey... Are you alright?”

A woman runs down a dark alley she has been running for maybe 3 or 4 minutes now but to her, it seemed like an eternity at this pace. She is crying, not from any kind of sadness or depression she cries out of fear. She is in a ripped black dress in bare feet covered only by tattered pantyhose. She is dressed for a fun party. One where she enjoyed the company of many friends and friends of those friends. Her birthday was today, she turned 21, finally able to drink due to the laws of this land. The celebration started at 8:30 pm and lasted almost two and a half hours before its abrupt and bloody end.

Her boyfriend was close to her for most of the party happy to see her let loose for once in her life. They had been together for 6 years and he planned to finally purpose to her not one month later. The present she received was fantastic, her friends knew what she liked and wanted her to appreciate the gesture. There was only one other person there no one seemed to know and if only that was the only problem the stranger presented to them. Once the woman blew out the candles on her cake, blood-streaked across the delectable white frosting. Looking to her side her boyfriend was cut in half only his lower body could be seen and many black and red tentrils holding his upper half in the air before he was what seemed to be devoured by the monstrosities before everyone. Not getting the chance to escape all of the guests at this party were quickly mangled by the strange limbs. The woman quickly traced them to the source, the man no one seemed to know. he walked up to the woman with a demonic smile. He stuck a finger in the frosting and tasted it. Looking at the woman with feverish eyes one grey the other scarlet red. The smile never dropping. "Run," He says to her and she didn't have to hesitate. Her terror made her make way for the door.

Back in the alleyway, she looks behind to see the man with his terrible smile and piercing eyes. She screams for help but it was all too late, one of the tendrils grabs her by the leg and lift her into the air. The man walks up to her the smile lessened but still plastered on his face. He moves his face close to hers "Sorry about ruining the party it was oh so fun to watch." He says almost sarcastically. "But thanks to the Dragons this community holds so such renown I have to make a mess." The woman fights to be free but the tendril holding her slams her on the side of the building. "Since the Dragons have killed my fellow men in the South you will have to suffer for their transgressions." A tendril with large spiked teeth moves closer to the woman. "That being said I can't say I didn't enjoy our little date." and with that, the tendril strikes at the woman as she screams for the last time in her life most but not all of her body being devoured by it. Once done the man walks away headed back to the South District.

Platina locks of hair floated on the soft breeze, caressing her face ever so lightly as her coral pink eyes roamed over the buildings spread across. It boomed wealth with just one slight glance, the people were exactly acting like those snobs she had seen her entire life due to her parents’ influence which made her gag inside yet it had become the norm to her. She was supposed to set up a café on her own here, not under the name of her family but of her own. Why? Because otherwise she would be forced to keep living in their shadow for the entirety of her lifespan. A truly dreadsome faith if one would ask her, hence why she moved to Oasis in America, out of the grasp of those who would love to puppeteer her. Eventually she reached the metro station where she got in to the central district which was on the same line. Lucky. Carefully sitting down so her grey pleaded skirt wouldn’t be lifted in a way that perverts would love to see. Her white turtleneck was neatly tucked in, her light pink coat covering most of her outfit the way she sat down. Underneath she wore panties to keep her legs kind of warm and black ankle boots which completed the outfit. Simple yet eye-catching was her style.

After a short while, she arrived at the stop she had to get off; having already looked it up before she left her apartment. Glossy pink lips parted lightly as she took in the pretty view, leaving her with the faintest of smiles. Perhaps this was going to work out better than she thought it would. Her body then resumed to move into the direction of where her future shop would be located which was almost in the middle of it all. A man in suit was checking his list off with tasks that had to be done before the deadline, a contractor she hired and who looked promising enough. She however wanted to place the furniture on her own as she had seen one too many times failures in the past as they couldn’t manage to do it the way she wanted to. Meaning she had to move everything around once more which only resulted in more work.

After a small discussion with the contractor; she got to know that everything was fixed and the only thing left to do was for her to wait on the moving truck which had all her stuff in it. The moment she looked down at the bottom of the door, she saw the sign with some material which got her into action. Pulling one of the two benches in front to the right position before climbing upon it. Placing the board right in the middle but then it came to her… How was she even going to do this on her own, she needed someone to hold up the board or one to smack the nails right in. She huffed as she tried to balance it in one hand while the other tried to handle the hammer and nails which made her look like a stumbling mess. Grumbling under her breath as this had slipped her mind just the slightest bit.

Central District, coffee shop.

Estella was enjoying her coffee, it was sour, so she kept having to take slow sips of it, but it was so good. Sour wasn't usually her taste but if it was in coffee, anything was good in coffee. There was a slight movement and some shuffling but she didn't pay any mind to it. A green haired person and their date was leaving, but when there was some raised voices and confusion outside of the coffee shop, she got annoyed. The green haired person came in after the commotion to apologize. Mary and Estella shared a look, they were both annoyed, but nothing was harmed in the shop. After them a rude customer came in, and she frowned. Estella wasn't sure what it was, but she didn't like it. Estella knew almost every member of her gang and sometimes even her member's families. She liked to talk to people most of the time, but avoided the other gangs. These two weren't members of her gang, but it didn't mean that they were members in another gang.

She takes a deep breath, she had to relax, just because they were strangers didn't mean that they were gang members. She waits for a pause in the customers. It was about to be busy and usually she was heading out the door by now, but it was taking her longer to drink her coffee. "I'll add a scone, Mary, please, to my order," she states and smiles at the older woman. Estella never paid until she left, which was unusual, but as the employees knew her so well, they allowed it. After all, Estella was unpredictable with her orders, as sometimes she ordered a coffee to go, or sometimes two for the day, or even a dessert. She takes another look at the two with green hair and swears under her breath. Dammit, they're coming this way. Now I can't leave. Estella sighs in defeat, she would have to accept her fate, and see what they wanted.

Mixie Edellson | Sable Serpents - Jack | Location: South District - Abandon Library | Interacting/Mentioned: Jaiden Wilson, Gregoire Tanaka, Jin Masaka| Outift: Main Outfit + Eye Patch

As minutes pass during this stagnant, boring mission, Mixie sits cross-legged on the floor and pretends her fingers are ninjas in battle. A few "Hyah!" and "Hwahhh!" can be heard. To her, this held more excitement than what's actually going down right now.

However, coincidently a man slips into the building in panic, "We're being busted! Abort mission!"

Mixie snatches her gaze at him and lets a gasp, but not out of fear nor worry. Rather, a strange, tingling sensation runs down her spine and she can feel butterflies swarming in her stomach. Now things are getting exciting!

With a wide smile, revealing her multi-colored braces, Mixie jumps from the ground, "Yay!" Her feet take control and she bounces up and down, "Does this mean I can play now?"

In contrast to this enthusiasm, Lilliam and her men are furious. In a low voice, she directs her eyes towards Gree and says "Fix this." Before being escorted out of the library by a personal body guard.

As she leaves, Mixie leans forward and blows a raspberry, twisting her hands with thumbs pressed to her temples.

“Who the hell in their right minds would disrupt us?!” Gree snaps. He faces her and Jaiden and points at the door, “Go check it out, feel free to dismember whoever awaits you.” Then crossing his arms, seemingly unthreatened by the attackers, he says “I’ll stay in here in case any sad sap makes the mistake of entering.”

Mixie nods to the command and skips her way towards the exit, gesturing for Jaiden to follow her. Reaching the door, she grabs it and flings it open.

"Ready or not, here I coommmeeee~!" Following this is a maniac laugh.

Upon exiting, her eyes lock instantly with the one and only Elder of the Ruby Revenants, Jin Masaka.

"Found ya'!" Without thinking and without any hesitation whatsoever, she grips her hand and pulls it from her wrist. There's no time for anyone to speak before the girl pulls it back and launches it directly where he stands.

«я ценю вашу помощь».
Yelena Zaytseva
Yelena was glad to hear that Bash wasn't willing to help out just for her sake. That was good. After all, she was bound to disappoint him in the end. Without breaking line-of-sight, she took another gulp of her drink, and came away with a mustachio of whipped cream for her efforts. Such principles. Barely a shred of psychopathy that Yelena could glean. And popular with animals, to boot. Perhaps Bash had chosen the wrong gang? Perhaps the honorable Dragons, or the loyal Revenants, would have been more his speed? Ah, well. Yelena smiled slightly at Misty's attempts at gaining Bash's attention, wiping her mouth with a napkin as soon as Bash lowered his gaze.

Yelena's eyebrow quirked. So, was it some kind of false sense of responsibility he felt, then? That he owed the gang something for its hand in raising him? Yelena didn't know if that were true or not, but one thing was clear: Bash believed it to be the case. At the mention of a brother, Yelena wracked her brain to try and put a face to Bash's kin. A flash of recognition, brief and unfocused - a phantom limb, a manic stare - brought a certain dread visage of a boy to her mind. At this revelation, Yelena watched Bash with a cool appraisal. She could hardly see the resemblance...

"Good speech." After a pause, long enough to take another long gulp of her drink, she added, "Fine. You help."

After a moment, their server arrived and handed Bash the receipt for their drinks. Yelena watched him scour the paper for a dollar sign from over the brim of her mug. She was mid-sip when he returned, and answered his question (of whether she'd be willing to let him give her a ride, or at least get her number) with a pair of raised eyebrows and a slight nod. She'd decide which of the two she'd commit to once she'd finished her drink.

After the door closed on Bash, Yelena set down her mug, its contents all but depleted, and found herself staring at the cat. Misty had stood up from her perch and sauntered across the table to get a better look at her. Their eyes met, and something unspoken passed between them. They shared this moment for another beat before Yelena gathered herself up and swung open the door. She was immediately blasted with a cold gust of wind.

Calming a few flyaway strands of hair, she nodded to Bash and his bike and said, "Ready. Let's go," apparently not at all apprehensive about the prospect of getting on a bike with her new acquaintance. She'd fill him in on where to leave her when they'd left the Rose District behind them.

Suddenly, the Viking-man charges Krueger, and Krueger slides a foot back to ready himself, bent at the knees and baring his teeth.

However...

From the right, at a speed which denies him perception, a blurred projectile trailing smoke after a blast of sparks, powers into the side of the opponent's face and topples him over--surely knocking him unconscious. There's no way it wouldn't...

Looking in the direction of whence the projectile came, Krueger sees none other than his partner leaping out of Sports Dive through the shattered display window, glass crunching underfoot as she approaches him. Krueger can't help but smile wide. His spare hand tightens into a fist in front of him, and he hollers, "Yeah!" A display of excitement that is seldom seen from him.

Kimiko takes him by the wrist then, "Time to go," and she pulls him along behind her, catching her bag from thin air, which earns a confused look upon Krueger's face as he glances behind him to see an employee waving them goodbye.

A friend? - he wonders.

They exit the mall into the cold outdoors. Sirens howl in the distance, growing louder by the second.

"Which way do we go? Back to the temple?" Kimiko asks, but there's hardly a chance to think before the steel hounds flood the parking lot--strobing eyes producing streams of red and blue throughout the cluttered, snowy expanse and projecting flickers of their shadows onto the mall's exterior behind them.

Krueger shields his eyes, taking Kimiko's hand this time, and he ducks into a sprint to the right, guiding them to the back of the mall. He reaches up on instinct to hold his fedora, but feels only the soft tussle of his hair through his fingers. Ahh, right...

He hopes Kimiko can keep up as he weaves through the many parked vehicles--only half-doubting her by the difference in their strides--when they come upon the aluminum fencing of the mall's boundaries. Without hesitation, releasing the girl, Krueger drops to a knee beside the hurdle and interlocks his fingers to hoist Kimiko over, then he follows with ease enough to say he's done this before.

The great maze of the city welcomes them then with open arms as they vanish into its depths.

[...] SOME TIME LATER [...]

He's used to running by now. Mentally, anyway. The toll on his body, however, is still the same as his chest rapids the rise and fall of heavy breaths. It seems he's better off sticking to the deep narrows of the urban forest that is New Oasis, like an ant to its tunnels; though, he already knew that.

"...Who-... Who was the woman?" Krueger asks, gesturing toward Kimiko's bag, "She said thank you... Do you-... know her?" He's leaned forward with his hands on his knees for a moment--then stands when his breathing slows to pull something from the lower pocket of his left leg.

Throwing it to Kimiko, he says, "Merry Christmas."

The batting gloves he'd meant to purchase at the mall, still tagged with a price and somewhat sprinkled with fibers of glass, prove a perfect fit for her small hands.

______________________________________________________________________________________________________[/COLOR]
Malik and Misa were relaxing on one of the couches. They were both naked covered by a blanket that was inside the Hummer. Seems like the company that they bought it from knew this could be a possibility. Misa was Snuggling close to Malik and Malik had a cigarette in his mouth. He takes a puff from his cigarette. "You know you are probably the worst fuck I've ever had." He smirks at his comment knowing how to press Misa's buttons. Him living with her for so long he has a good idea of what she is self-conscious about and likes to poke fun often. Misa punches Malik in the side of his ribs but before she can say anything she gets a hard pound in the ribs. She forgot he used his jinx on her during sex. "Fuck you asshole it was great for me at least." She say with a labored groan from the pain. She gets up and grabs a cigarette from the table and lights it. She steals the sheet from Malik and covers herself up. Thoughts are spinning in her head. "I can't believe I did that, with that asshole. Fuck if Gree finds out Malik might die." That thought perked her up a bit and a smile formed. "Well whatever Malik i guess only one of use got to enjoy it and thank god it was me." She laughs a bit but it was cut short.

The Driver slams on the break and the two almost fall from the sudden stop. Malik is furious "What the fuck is your problem assho-" he's cut short from a gun shot that seems to have happened by the driver seat and the two have very little time to react before someone rips the door off of the hummer. A man in a black suit and a scar on his forehead crawls in the hummer When Malik sees this he quickly snaps his fingers to stop the link with him and Misa. The suited man goes to hit Malik in the face but before he got the hit in Malik touched him on the arm right before the punch connected Malik was instantly knocked out since the man seemed to have an extremely powerful strength Jinx. but the man two seemed to fall unconscious as well as fly out of the hummer with the force put on him. Two more men get in the hummer both holding assault rifles. Misa had moved to as far to the front of the hummer to get away from the door the two men start moving towards her and Misa is almost to frightened to move she screams in their direction and without thinking activates her jinx and powerful soundwave pushing the men back but she saw that Malik was starting to bleed from his ears and she knew she would kill him if she continued. She saw that there was a door next to her and she ran out of it only to be hit with the stock of a gun and made unconscious. Another man picked her up and Carried her to a Black SUV. Another man went to grab Malik but someone in a very fancy looking suit walked to the door. "Leave the scumbag he'll probably be killed by that Bastard Elder once they see what happened to his sister." Misa is then put into the SUV and they drive off. Its unknown what had happened to her but the same SUV drove in front of the Serpents HQ and dumped Misa in front of it and Drove off. She's breathing... Barely.

Silva had fallen unconscious before Yelena left the alleyway, causing his pixels to disperse and vanish--like thousands of tiny fireflies deciding all at once to abandon their bioluminescent ways.

Only halfway to the Sapphire Dragon's Temple did he wake and open his eyes to see the vibrant city many feet beneath him--awestruck at first, but overcome by a sudden fear of falling, which led to him squirming comically within Chu's grasp as he went on about not having any pixels at his disposal should he fall.

Chu scolded him, however, and he calmed.

At the Temple, Oxie Lancaster, Senior of five years, with a regenerative Jinx was called upon to heal him. Unfortunately, though, her Jinx calls for one use per day as far as major injuries go, so she was only able to heal him halfway--the rest of the way calling for some ointment and bandages around his head. Apparently, Sonny Gomali had been injured too in a stabbing incident, so that was interesting to hear about.

Then there was Paige...

Silva fully expected the woman to really take his legs off when he next saw her, but it seemed that Omar had kept his irresponsibilities a secret. What a guy~

Now, he lies in the middle of the floor of the lounge, a pillow propped under his bandaged head, with Omar and Chu for company. It seems Paige wanted to be left alone, so she's no longer present, having ditched with Mercy to the comfort of her mother's home.

"Maaaaaan~! Whut a daay..." he sings, sprawled like a starfish. "You know, dey call me lucky, but ¡dios mio!, amigos, I didn' know I wus 'at lucky! You should 'ave seeeeen this señorita. She say she a rookie... but she an elder in mi corazón." On the words, his lips curl into a goofy smile behind his mask, followed by a hearty chuckle before he points at Omar and says, "I owe you big, ese! FELICITY QUINN - JUNIOR ALBINO TIGER (SENIOR SABLE SERPENT)
Location: (South District) Random Café
Interacting w/: Audience Valor Doctor Llamabean Doctor Llamabean

Despite the chill in the air, Felicity finds tranquility in the snow. The feeling it gives her is the closest she'll ever be to fulfilling the hiraeth that tugs at her. Everything about it is peaceful. After forgetting her gloves on the desk at the Albino Tigers' mansion, she refuses to remove her hands from her pockets, allowing snowflakes to make themselves comfortable on the tips of her eyelashes. "Damn, it's cold." A visible sigh escapes her lips and curls around her face as she continues walking.

What are you up to Chikage? Felicity perseveres at her failing attempts to piece together the Elder's actions. Knowing Chikage is like trying to color with a white crayon - scribble all you want but making out what you drew is nearly impossible.

Realizing she had zoned out, she pauses mid-step and glances over her shoulder to see that she passed the agreed upon meeting spot two blocks ago. "Bleeding hells..." She knows she can't be so absent minded like this, especially in her line of work, and even more so being out in the open. Not only does it have her walking in the cold longer than what's necessary, but it prevents her from recognizing potential tails. She turns around and walks the other way, watching to see if anyone turns around with her. No one. Good.

Anticipating Audience's snooty remarks regarding her poor timeliness, Felicity searches her mind for comments to throw back, finding herself in a nonexistent argument with Audience. She slows near the steps of the coffee shop, noticing an ice patch on the second-step. Felicity compliments herself internally for her keen sense of awareness. "Not so clumsy after all." Smiling at the thought of Audience busting her ass on it, her daydream is interrupted by the impact between her face and the glass door. Stepping back to place a palm on her face, she then sees the sign that clearly says "PULL." A waitress only a foot from the door stands in awe as Felicity enters and quickly finds a booth. Pleeeeeasee tell me Audience didn't just fucking see that. I'll never hear the end of it...

Snake

R. R. Senior

  • The Break-Away
    Location: Library [Serpent Territory]

    Men and their rage...

Her personal tool to manipulate really. The hooligans who hauled the stash of cash for the trade were no such challenge, but they weren't an easy fight either; rather, a fun time. The memory itself earning a recollection as a slight smirk tugged at the corner of her mouth, remembering the single sucker punch she had absorbed into her cheek, the only blow out of the many- that touched her. Congrats to him.

Her cheek would bruise, and that would be about it, she'd suffered worse- felt worse- she'd be alright. At the moment, Snake listened to Jin with a callous expression, toneless and blank, but attentive. If there was one thing that Jin and her could agree on, it was the idea of returning home in one piece; with everyone in one piece. So, the ability to comply with directives was decently tangible. Snake wasn't a passionate, faithful soldier, but she'd take JIn's orders with a grain of salt, trusting the fact that he knew what he was doing, because she knew he did. The only thing that hinted at her acknowledgment of his command, was the minimal curt nod that Snake gave him.

However, to their misfortune, a nearby duo of scouts had eyes on them, and before she knew it, one had his gun drawn and the other took a sprint in the opposite direction. The serpents couldn't know they were here, and almost instinctively, she moved to follow the gaiting recon, though Jin insisted she find the van of drugs with a quick and sharp order. A small grunt in dismay, but Snake complied, after all, they were bound to find out anyway. But to make things worse, it seemed one of the members had already answered the call, as the familiar destructive 10 year old shouted toward them with her usual deranged and quite callow mockiness. As soon as that wrist popped off its socket,-

    Time to move...

Jin would be fine, and if he wasn't-, well they'd cross that bridge when they got there. With haste, she grabbed Brax by his shoulder, and in the blink of an eye, the two diminished into thin air; quite literally. Brax would feel as if his very body had been pulled apart as if it was wet cardboard. Painful- but quick, like ripping off a band-aid- only it covered the extent of one's body- , Snake was quite used to it by now, but Brax-..well, she'd used the skill on him twice or so within missions or what else.

Before he knew it, Brax would once again feel his form regain itself after having drifted right through the wind as the smallest of particles. Then once his vision was clear, he'd gain sight of the warehouse, though being much closer now. At his back, the smooth back metal of a large SUV With a small glance around, Snake would finally become visible with a part of her head gazing into the mist of the automobile, and once she retreated, a shake of her head in no. The drugs weren't in that one.

A gesture toward the next vehicle, all the while she raised a finger to her lips in a familiar motion; ironic, even she knew. Jokes....

    She thought it was funny.

Soon enough, with her back was along another SUV, expecting Brax to be in tow. With a small breath, she slowly peeked inside, before, quickly, drawing it back out. A heavy sigh through her nose as her eyes had widened, she nodded to him. The drugs were in this one. Moving quickly, Snake pointed toward the driver, and she began to instantly move the other way. Sure, he knew Brax was a pacifist, that didn't mean he couldn't put someone to sleep-..however special way he'd saw fit.

Arriving at the trunk, she cracked her knuckles before sliding through the metal, and into the cargo space, rolling quietly along the lush surface before bracing her back upon the seats. There were only two within, and the drugs literally sitting on the floor between them as she supposed they waited for the serpent's elder. Snake intended to be far away by the time of his arrival, so she'd have to be quick. And that-

    she was.

In a flash, her two blades slid out of her sleeves and into her palms, then with a second more, she rose over the seating and raised a single blade before thrusting it downward.

"FRAnci-..!!" His friend called right as her cutlass hit flesh, and before he could go to grab something, she flung her other knife forward, and with fuel efficiency- it hit bullseye, right in his noggin. He spurted a small array of unperceivable words for a moment before slumping over. Too easy, especially as she expected the driver to be handled by this point. Snake, yanking her blade from the heart of her first foe, hopped over the seating and nodded to Brax.

    "Stehp ah'n it..."

All the while her phone found its way within her hands, her bloodied fingers typed a simple message to Jin as they moved; her free hand bracing upon the very exchange package.

    We got them....
