Jannah I don't know if Jae-Hui and Kasper would ever be besties, but I can definitely see potential for at least an acquaintanceship between them! Kasper might think Jae-Hui is a little tedious at first and needs to learn how to have fun and be more spontaneous, so maybe Kasper will try to lure him into a game of ping pong or a walk around the school grounds after curfew. Kasper isn't a very stellar student, so perhaps he'll appeal to Jae-Hui for some tutelage in exchange for free homemade food? Since Jae-Hui also has an interest in art and other creative pursuits, I could see the two of them striking up a conversation around that.
Yea, he's definitely a bit uptight due to his upbringing. His family cares very much about their reputation and in many ways Jae-Hui kind of despises that he's being used for that in a sense. His family does care about him, though, in their weird twisted way. The family itself I created on another site for a plot I was doing there, but it was actually the North Korean branches of the family. Figured I would explore some of the South Korean branches too! It's actually incredible to me how much the two family branches have in common, considering the two different societies they come from. What I have learned from this is that both are traditional and rigid. The Northerners just have a bit more of a military-like discipline about them and more emphasis on a communal mindset.
On an unrelated note, I do look forward to seeing how he interacts with the others! He will be competitive, but mostly because of the immense pressure being placed on him due to family honour and all that.
