Name: Otrygg Se Efor, or Otrygg the Boar.

Age: 349

Race: Dwarf

Background: "It seems like so long ago," Otrygg began, leaning back into the folding camp chair, preemptively grabbing the leg that liked to fold in whenever he shifted his weight. "I was born down in the valley, I didn't even think about joining the Guard for my first 50 years, but they came marching through one day. After seeing how their armor shined so bright and the thunder of their feet, well I couldn't just sit and be a farmer. My parents, bless them, knew me all to well. And within the month they had me on my way to join the Guard."

"It was a lot less glamorous than what I had seen. Oh, you went on parade once and a while. But most of the time, if you were marching, it was to get somewhere and do some killing. I've killed elves, orcs, humans, other dwarfs even. If it could shake a sharp rock on a stick at us, odds are we were sent to go and make them stop. It was against the elves of Lamanthra that I earned the honor of joining the Royal Guard. They broke the left flank, I was the only one that didn't turn and run. Must've been a whole lance formation that was coming down on me, looking to break the rest of our line. I don't know how I did it, I just set my shield and braced for it. Next thing I knew I was on a mound of at least three of them and swinging at a fourth. I think the shock of seeing one lone, lowborn dwarf killing their snooty highborn arses was what did them in."

"Anyways, after that, I was given some medals for my 'distinction in service' and 'selfless heroism' before they threw me in with the rest of the Royal Guard. Didn't do much after that. A lot of standing at attention and polishing armor. Practice, to, didn't want us getting dull. I was away when it came, Dolometh. Killed them all I heard. I think I've seen a few shields acting as chest guards for the big ones."

Personality: Otrygg is a no-nonsense kind of fellow. You will do as he says, or you will be the first to die in the next wave. It's as simple as that to him. Though he is conflicted between holding the front with the rest of his troops and dying in battle, in repentance for failing his oath as a Royal Guard, and serving the survivors as best he can. This conflict is not shown often, but there are tells. Like him gripping his axe and taking a step towards the flap of his tent near the front when the fighting gets particularly fierce before taking a deep breath and beginning to instruct a fighting retreat to a more defensible position or sending the reserve units forward to reinforce.

Combat Information: The former Guard Captain of the Royal Guard and acting Grand General, Otrygg is currently restricted to planning the endless battle and prolonging the inevitable end. Though he got his title for a reason, namely his headlong charges into much larger, and often stronger, opponents. Much like a wild boar would. Hacking about himself with his axe and his armor deflecting blows all the while.

Name
: Ragnhildur Morfadr

Age: 72

Race: Dwarf

Background: Work hard, play hard, rest hard. That was the ethos of the Morfadr clan in the old days. Ragnhildur grew up among family that knew how to do a job right and how to polished off a barrel of ale when it was done. They were a renown clan of runic stonemasons. Those were the happy days of the past before the damned Elves let one of their own transform into a Lich and cause the surface world to fall into darkness.

Ragnhildur had been training to be a runic stonemason herself, carving runes into the stone to imbue it with magic, but as the world fell into darkness her skills were soon put to strengthening the gates and walls. Called to the Mountain's defense, she soon mastered protection and healing runes, forgoing the runes of peacetime. She was often on the outside of the gate, desperately recarving runes of protection into it, while soldiers drove back the enemy behind her at the cost their lives. She ended up on the front lines many times, crushing the skulls of brave Dwarves reanimated by cruel magic on death. Some of them had been defending her only moments before.

One by one her parents, siblings, and relations fell to hordes of fiends below and hordes of undead above. Now she stands alone, the last of fighting age among her clan. She has inherited the best of her family's ancestral armor - recovered from their sometimes reanimated corpses. There are still a few left among her clan who are too young or too old to sally into battle though they ready themselves to fight to the death when the last safeguards finally fall.

Personality: Ragnhildur was a Dwarf of simple desires in simple times. She loved her family and her people, was proud of her heritage and eager to take her place in the long line of stonemasons that had made her clan renowned. In the present dark times, she has lost all hope for the future and is only driven by her desire that her last days alive are worthy of her clan. It doesn't really matter to her what others think of her or her clan, it only matters that she lives up to her own convictions. Indeed, there are few left alive whose criticism means anything to her - the Grand General Otrygg Se Efor being one of them. Despite her age she has wisdom born from battle and an existential will that's difficult to undermine; she may be the last of her clan but she'll make it an ending worthy of them. She's extremely proud of the Dwarfs for being the 'last sanctuary standing' and is generally accommodating of the "weaker" peoples who sought shelter with them, though she does blame the Elves for the mess above ground.

Combat Information: Ragnhildur is well protected by her family's ancestral armor and, through bitter experience, trained in defense. Her ancestral armor is engraved with runic magic that boosts physical and elemental resistances, while also accelerating her personal healing. In her physical prime, she is quite strong and hardy. She's well capable of smashing an average opponent with her warhammer, which is also imbued with runic magic that boosts it's damage, but her skills lean towards defense rather than offense. Her primary role is casting runic magic around protection and healing. This can be general physical protection or more specific warding against a certain element or a specific type of foe (mostly undead or fiends). Her way of casting, chiseling runes into stone, is slower than most but the results are reliable and persistent. The only offense runes she knows are related to fire; initially used the cremate the dead and prevent them from being reanimated, but later repurposed to create flame barriers. She also knows non-combat runes around shaping stone and such, but those are extremely slow to take effect and thus rarely useful in battle.

Ulterior Motive:
Make certain that any surviving Elves shoulder their responsibility for the sad state of the world. This might include leaving them to make the same sacrifice that so many of her family have.

Appearance: Kindle is 3 meters tall. The latch on their belly can be opened to reveal a fully functional furnace that can be used as either a forge or oven. Their left hand can be transformed into a drill and they carry a worn-out but well maintained forging hammer on their back.

Name: Kindle
Age: 50
Race: Furnace golem

Background: Made alive through a combination of intricate rune magic and a bonded spirit, Kindle was created by the renowned dwarven Blacksmith Dragghar. The old man was a stubborn geezer who also extremely reclusive to the point that he prefer to create a companion rather than looking for one like any normal person. Kindle used to handle all sort of chores for the old man from drilling the necessary ores to cooking dinner. However, all changed when the lich king and the demon lord invaded.

As a famous blacksmith, Dragghar was flooded by requests for exotic powerful weapons from lots of clients, and his bloated pride made the old dwarf accepted more request than what he can physically handle. After he finished his last weapon Dragghar fell asleep while sitting in front of Kindle, and he never wake up anymore. When they realized the old dward had gone forever, Kindle felt a pang of uneasiness somewhere within them. That's the first time Kindle felt an emotion, and the start of their quest to deliver the finished items to their respective owners.

It was a hard quest for them. The majority of the kingdom had fell into chaos, no one took them seriously and they were robbed again and again. Until the only weapon left was the drill that they managed to protect by attaching it to their left hand. By the time they arrived at the supposed recipient they're already gone, killed by the undead army.

No purpose left, Kindle dropped on the ground and stay still for days until an old couple managed drag them into their home. It was a small bakery, Kindle was sheltered and they slowly started helping the old couple. Cleaning the house, baking bread, washing. It's their new purpose, at least that's what they thought. Another wave of invasion crashed the town, this time it was completely leveled to the ground and the old couple were killed. Kindle once again felt the pain on their chest. Once again they started a journey to find a new purpose. Or maybe they should make one for themself?

Personality: Kindle is a curious and kind soul, though their minimal understanding of common sense and emotion oftenly led them into trouble in the society. They enjoy brainless routine like cleaning and can oftenly be seen scrubbing the forging hammer that they never use.

Combat Information: Kindle was never programmed to be a combat golem, but they learnt. They hit hard and their steel body make them extremely durable. If the need arise they can spew a continous stream of fire from their belly.
Ulterior Motive: none

Name: Edorai Vaas'Eo, The Sin Eater
Age: 421
Race: Elf

Background: Edorai is the twin brother of the Lich King Necme and that relationship has defined his entire life. Early on, Necme was discovered studying the forbidden arts of necromancy and sentenced to death, but evaded capture. As atonement for his family's grievous failure, Edorai swore himself to the Death Cult of Arai, a brotherhood of warrior-monks sworn to hunting the undead wherever they may wander. Decades were spent apprenticed to indescribably cruel masters and being subjected to one ritual after another until Edorai was sculpted into a Sin Eater, one of the unfortunate few Elves who survive having their soul obliterated by Wild Magic and replaced with an all-consuming hunger that can only be slaked by acting as the conduit by which damned souls return to their resting place. The Elves believe that Arai reigns over the lands of the dead and that it is a grave offense to steal from him, an offense that is committed every time the dead are reanimated. Returning them to Arai is an act of worship, and one that the Sin Eaters take seriously. Every kill brings a moment of respite from the hunger, and every day without it is a new torture.

Accordingly, Edorai has spent his vast lifetime on the hunt, wandering the outskirts of civilization and the abandoned tombs of all races. Necme has always been the prime target of his hunt, and he has come close time and time again to tracking him down only to find he has vanished once again. When the world as he knew it began to fall, Edorai was seen on battlefield after battlefield leading his fellow Death Cultists into battle, their numbers dwindling each time until only a handful remained. With his followers in tow, he has relocated to the Mountain That Still Stands, offered his aid to the Grand General, and risen time and time again from his meditation to join the carnage. He and his brethren have confined themselves to the upper gates, where their blades are far more valuable than they would be below.

Personality: Edorai is a quiet and respectful sort, grim in a way others of his fae-like kin are not. Having long ago been magically deprived of emotions like fear, he has embraced a cool and constant hatred of the unliving that has defined his entire existence. He has never been known to take leisure time or participate in celebration, but doggedly adheres to a set of daily rituals of worship. He weeps regularly for the dead among performing other funerary rites, and as far as the inhabitants of the Mountain know, he is always happy to help with anything requested of him but does not make friends.

Combat Information: Edorai is a whirlwind of death with 400 years of grueling training and combat under his belt. His weaponry of choice includes a mace and a broad sword for versatility, given that the mace tends to handle skeletal undead better than a blade. He also has been known to carry two curved daggers for when things get too tight to swing a longer weapon. His armor, though light, is magically enhanced enough to offer modest protection, but Edorai shines defensively by using wild magic for short range teleportation. Edorai, like the rest of his Death Cult, feeds off of the dark energy released by slain undead, slaking a vampiric-like thirst and sustaining his body even when his wounds should bring him low.

Ulterior Motive: Rip the dead heart from his brother's chest.

    Name: Colette Kyrkos
    Written: Κολετ Κύρκος
    Age: 28
    Race: Human
    Background:
Born within the Human Kingdoms, Colette was raised as a noble, with her family tasked to protect the outer edges of the kingdom from any invasive threat. As such, she was trained to fight at a young age, and in the line that her family all served as, cavaliers, riding beasts into battle, paired with their respective beast. Colette was a strange case as far as her parents understood, as there was no one beast that Colette didn't show some aptitude towards, ranging from simple horses, to wolves, to lesser wyverns, and the like. Yet her greatest aptitude, was with the beast her mother had ridden into battle years ago, the Pegasus. Adopting a pegasus foal, Colette began to tend to the young beast, Rinea, at an equally young age, to form a partnership and bond for life.

Then, came her first sights of battle at the mere age of Fourteen. A skirmish broke out on the outer edges of her family's lands, prompting a response. This was where the young pegasus rider and her companion began to shine, as the backlines soon became harried by the white feathers and what came from them, swooping and galloping within the battleground, almost akin to a dance of death and carnage.

However, as time passed, the Litch King's armies had reached her lands... Striking the Kyrkos family with impunity, as the nature of the small force that the family had commanded were the Kingdom's best cavalry. In a last ditch effort, Colette was entrusted with the heirloom of her family, Sklirós ílios, and told to flee. Taking up the reins of her beloved Rinea, the young Colette turned her back upon the carnage of the land she called her home, hearing only the sounds of screams.

Finally stumbling upon a mountain fortress, there is where Colette met Ortygg, whom took the young cavalier under his wing, often calling her "Child" and the like, much to her dismay. Here is where she remained, always readied for the battles in which she had been hardened to, dancing across the skies between the upper and lower gates, dashing wherever she and her fellow Sky Knights are needed.

    Personality:
Calm and dutiful, Colette often is seen doing Something, whether it be patrolling the skies outside her new home, scouting for any threats, to feeding the injured, and even going within the stables and giving them a good clean, she keeps her hands busy as often as possible, only stopping once she is done. When speaking, she seldom holds herself as a superior, and often speaks to those around her as an equal, giving them as much respect as she can, even if they do not share that same regard. Yet, her kindness truly shows when dealing with the beasts that are employed within the army, her voice softens and her expression becomes more gentle towards the creature. This is especially true for Rinea, her Pegasus, whom Colette has attached herself to, a reminder of her home, and the peaceful days attributed to them.

Appearance:
1606735189230.png
Name: Dorenas Vall

Age: appears mid 20s actually late 40s

Race: Halfbreed

Background: Dorenas has never been accepted by either side of his family but not for the reasons you might think, the elves from his father’s clan don’t care that he’s part human and the reverse is true for his mother’s family. His father charmed his mother solely for the fact that he wanted to experiment and see what it was like to lie with a human and how different it was from elf. He never really took an interest in the fact that he had a son, he was much too caught up in trying out different experiments. When he was old enough to go out to the world to look for him, his father merely asked what he hoped to learn from having them meet and turned him away when he didn’t like his answer. His mother was a consort (for lack of a better term) who returned from the city to her farm home with himself. As he grew, he showed the typical talent for elven things such as archery and the like, but he also learned to hide his feelings toward others. As he had learned from his grandparents, (his mother having returned to the city to continue her work) “one must never enjoy the flesh of the same, men must not desire men, women must not seek the comfort of women”. This was drilled into him his whole life when he stayed on the farm. Needless to say, the town was shocked when they found him in the embrace of the mayor’s son on the night of a festival celebrating their god who made that rule. That night he ran to the house before he was caught, gathered what he could, then left. He tried to get the mayor’s son to join him, but he’d already been put in jail. The 2 shared one last moment before Dorenas left, forever.

For the next few years, he travelled. He learned all more about himself outside of farm life. He learned that even though he was slower than elves he was more durable and stronger while not as physically strong as some humans he was faster and had better senses. He did meet some who treated him poorly for being different but he also found others who accepted him for who/ what he was, the friendliest ones where either warriors or scholars. The warrior taught him how to fight. The scholars taught him how to use runes. He did a stint in a coliseum for a while but after traveling for so long he started to lose hope that he would find what he’d really been searching for…something to make him feel whole. Wherever he went, everyone seemed like they had themselves complete, he didn’t know what he could do to make him feel that way. He started to turn to ale and such to deal. Sometime ago he somehow made a pact with a familiar though he does not actually know that he had and the contract’s not complete. He and a mage friend of his had drank too much ale then long story short, started to create a pact however the passed out before it could be finished and now Dorenas hears a whisper sometimes. They whisper to him when someone tries to sneak up behind him or say odd words to him so that he’ll finish the ceremony. He’s started calling this voice his hidden power.

Personality: Dorenas is the type to never turn down a fun time. Whether it’s some ale, a brawl, some cards, he’s ready. He plays the fool but is also making sure what your weaknesses are just in case. While at times he may seem to only care about himself he’s very thoughtful and cares for friends. He also always has a witty retort ready should the need arise. He’s a good listener and others do tend to open up to him, children in particular seem to be drawn to his charm. He doesn’t often let his softer side show though as throughout his life he’s been betrayed by some of his romantic loves. He tries to be loyal but it’s hard for him to trust people.

Combat Information: Dorenas has had many different teachers. He picked up on a few different styles and tricks to develop his own way. Mostly he fights with hand to hand combat, shorts swords/ daggers, even shields. He does sometimes use archery but isn’t as skilled as some of the elves, however he is a better shot when compared to most humans out there. His fighting style mostly involves rapid strikes at or around vital areas or ones that aren’t as protected. He also relies on the speed of his movements as well as deceiving his opponents, using feints and activating runes when his opponent is occupied. While he has a spirit in a pact with him the pact is incomplete, he only hears occasional words from them. The words could alert him to a hidden enemy or sometimes they are mystery to him.

Ulterior Motive: Find what he doesn’t have

Nam1607121823315.pnge: Alexis Tilbrook

Age: 36

Race: human

Background: From the moment Alexis was born, she had her life planned out for her. She was born into a noble family, and was to be married off to whoever was the richest and best looking lad that Alexis's parents could find. However, while this was a wonderful plan for her parents, Alexis had no interest in marring some rich asshole. She wanted to explore the world! Live on the edge! Become strong!

So Alexis spent her youth disobeying her parents. Her mother told her that she had to be as clean as possible, so she'd find every way possible to get as filthy as possible. Her mother would get her nice dresses for her to wear, and she'd bring them back torn, and absolutely ruined. Alexis also enjoyed to explore her family estate, and during one of her little adventures, she somehow stumbled into the basement. It was here where she found the family heirloom, a weapon that hadn't seen the light of day for years.

At first glance, it seemed to be six blades that were in a harness made to go around the waist. When Alexis got close to the strange weapon, the blades glowed, and shot out of their sheaths. This scared Alexis, and the blades seemed to respond by flying around sporadically. They almost took Alexis's head off until she shouted for them to stop. Surprisingly, they obeyed, and all stopped, and returned to the sheaths.

Alexis was told that she had found the family heirloom, Carnwennan, magical blades that responded to the users every command, no matter how far they are from them. Once she found them, Alexis would practice controlling the Carnwennan instead of being mischievous. And her parents were just happy that they could finally keep track of her.

Once the world started...well, ending, Alexis brought it upon herself to fight against the Lich kings demonic forces, and it would allow her to do a little sight seeing, if she lived long enough.

Personality: Alexis is actually quite a calm person despite her childhood. She takes pleasure in teasing people, but rarely takes anything seriously outside of combat. Sometimes she can be found enjoying a little stroll. However, when she's in battle, she's focused, and makes sure to give it her all until the bitter end.

Combat Information: Alexis wields the Carnwennan, 6 blades that follow her every order. Due to them being able to move without her holding them, Alexis likes to fight from afar, however, if the situation demands it, she can get up close and fight.

Ulterior Motive: Find someone who craves adventure as much as her.

Name: Yurie Katenka
Age: 18
Race: Human
Background: Born among royalty, Yurie is the descendent of a powerful line of ritual spellcasters who each form bonds with their own unique familiars. Her family was prosperous enough to provide her with a luxurious lifestyle, and overall her childhood was peaceful and happy. During her preparations for becoming a worthy successor, she discovered a strong aptitude for magic, but it was only during the outset of the war that she truly began to take her prodigious path seriously. However, the Lich King's army quickly expanded, and it wasn't long before they reached the confines of her mansion. When it was discovered that they were under attack, her mother bound her familiar in a contract with Yurie, and the elemental swore to protect her at all costs. Contributing nothing to the defense of the mansion, Yurie helplessly hid, trembling as she listened to the death throes of her parents and siblings after a hard-fought battle. She spent days without food or drink, waiting silently for the worst of the threat to pass. She escaped when she couldn't endure the hunger any longer. As promised, her familiar guided and protected her, and after several harsh weeks spent on the run she finally encountered a certain dwarven stronghold.
Personality: Yurie is shy, friendly, and unconfrontational. Despite her demeanor, she can be surprisingly bold, and she is fiercely determined when pitted against even the darkest of circumstances. She is naively optimistic and her boundless hope is enough to raise morale. She is naive in other ways, too, and lacks a great deal of knowledge about the world around her. However, she can be surprisingly perceptive at times, and relatively speaking is especially knowledgeable when it comes to magic. If nothing else, she is a fast learner. Having been raised under lavish conditions, she can be quite the spoiled rich girl, but she seldom voices her complaints loudly enough for it to be problematic. She thoroughly enjoys sweets, and she will insist on being coddled if she thinks she can get away with it. In general, she conscientiously shoulders her responsibilities and diligently accepts her role as a vanguard fighting for all of Estridus.
Combat Information: Yurie's primary source of strength comes from her familiar. The elemental has spells that allow her to manipulate ice. Things like creating shard projectiles and emitting a stream of frost. She can animate and deploy the wyvern coiled around her body, augmenting her abilities or allowing it to fight separately from her. Yurie herself knows a ritual spell that heals in a wide area, but takes a while to set up.

Background:
Nite is one of the few skilled producers of gunpowder. He supplied it to the military and a few local hunters while his business was still up and running, while having a handful of pupils to teach his skills to. But his life changed as a whole when the undead army swept his home. The army was wiped out, and his pupils were killed. Nite himself miraculously survived, having been busy doing extensive research in a hidden part of his facility. Lacking the physical power to go through a horde of enemies, he had no option but to hide until they passed. What he returned to was a sight of massacre- the pupils he's trained murdered brutally, and most of his produce/research destroyed mercilessly.
After that was a continuation of roaming to survive and gain enough strength to seek revenge on the undead. His journey lead him to a dwarven stronghold- where he hopes to make the evil pay for what they've done. With what's left of the supplies in the stronghold he started making his tools of destruction again, hoping to be of aid to the survivors gathered there.

Personality:
Nite is an explosives maniac who sees joy in blowing things up. He researched various ways to create tools of destruction. His interest turned into an obsession as the tragic assault on his home happened. Now he is a revenge obsessed madman hellbent on creating more destructive wonders, more weapons of fire to make sure no evil undead walks on Earth after he is done.
As he spent most of his life studying gunpowder, Nite is awkward with dealing with people outside of his business. And now that he lost everyone he knew in a disaster, he is even more hesitant to approach people himself. He tries to keep things formal, nothing personal.

Combat Information:
Haha gunpowder go boom
Nite's knowledge for making gunpowder allows him to utilize firearms such as cannons, muskets, and cannons. And just barrels of gunpowder that go boom. Variations exist, but lack of resources and time forbids him from making such weapons of destruction.
Other than the skills of producing deadly weaponry, he himself is a decent fighter with a musket and a bayonet.
