Immidiately Ada regretted angering the man, and as he fled the scene the shrieking behind them didn't fill her with much confidence. Looking around, she was at a loss for words, her eyes darting all over in a vain attempt to find somewhere to hide. As she came to her senses, the shadow of a horrible being came into view, perched atop a great cathedral tower. It had to be something out of a horror novel, grotesque and gigantic, screaming bloody murder as it's dark spawn closed in on the group. All at once the situation hit her, and one clear thought introduced itself to her, a light as brilliant as the morning sun. All of her reservations about the suspicious man were cleared.
"RUN!" She cried, darting off in the direction the haggard man named Thomas had fled.

The deafening sound of a hundred claws scraping against the withering stone of the streets, as the beast horde drew near. Ravenous as they were, the winding alleyways and stone streets served to slow their ranks down considerably. As Ada bolted around the corner and through a deserted street, she desperately searched for a way to hide from the oncoming beasts. Surely vaulting over a fence wouldn't stop that many flesh-hungry abominations, and it's not like there were many fences to jump now that Ada had used her one and only jacket. Cursing her luck, she went for her bottle of dubiously acquired alcohol, which had disappeared in the frenzy.

As she looked up, a foul temper building up within her, she noticed a peculiar sight. There were great waves of smoke rolling out across this alleyway, coming from around a winding corner. She didn't slow her pace, but she did at least catch a whiff of the smoky fog. Curiously, it smelled of a dull incense, something you would smell burning in a church or perhaps an eastern shop. As she followed the rolling waves, with her band no doubt behind her, she noticed that the wailing and frenzied scratching of hungry beasts had dulled. Could they have lost them so easily?
"Must have thrown off their noses with this haze. Who would be burning incense at a time like this?"

Kian looked around in this game of cat and mouse, looking for when the it would finally show it's claws. He heard a shout right by him and turned to see Ada looking up towards a beast as mangled as it's kin look at them with hungry eyes, it's prey all but secured.

His legs gave chase before Ada's words even registered through his brain, dashing in the direction the old man had gone through. He ran, ran, ran. Running, still not noticing the smoke billowing around him.

His feet felt sluggish from all the running they'd had to have gone through all night. He put his arms down on his knees as he stood there, panting. Finally, he took a moment to actually take in his surroundings, his eyes flickered with hazy cursiosity.

He sneaked his hand through his satchel to find more of that stuff when, as he pulled his hand up, nothing. Again, he slipped his hand once more, kneeling onto the cold wet ground as again, nothing. Panic finally overtook as he began unraveling his things.

His eyes were empty as the he took out a vial that was supposed to contain the last of his reserves, open. He looked behind him, wondering if some of it spilled along the way, and whether or not he could scavenge it.

'Alright then, hopefully, this doesn't come back to bite us in the ass' Adrion thought as he bolted after Ada, not wanting to give any foul beast the time of day lest he cutting his own life short.

He ran and didn't dare look back in fear of what kind of monstrosity might trailing behind but made sure to scan the area for somewhere they could possibly go to shield themselves from danger.

It took a while for Adrion to notice the billowing waves of smoke but when he finally he was almost taken aback by the strong scent of the incense and wondered who would someone light so many of them, but most importantly if the trail of smoke led to anywhere s

Suddenly he realized that had almost completely come to a halt. "That's somewhat disappointing those things really are animals after all if they rely so heavily on their sense on smell" He muttered under his breath, he had no interest in studying something so primitive.

He stopped beside Kian only slightly winded from all the running and glad that all endurance training paid off at times like these. He watched as Kian began to panic with a look of disinclination.
