From messaging to this, things were getting out of hand. She didn't flinch watching the bullets fly by but she was concerned how a teacher like him was able to be in this position. Her talkie started to glow red and that was mildly concerning. She didn't have much time to think on it though as she was handed the weapon of choice.

She took the gun into her hands, not like she had much of a choice in the matter, and wondered when the last time she held one was. It was loaded, safety off, and ready to fire. Things were happening way too fast, the whole class was thrown into chaos with Jim getting shot in the foot. Oliver was asked question, got it wrong, and suddenly she was placed into the role of executioner. As he grabbed her wrist to aim the gun to his head, Portia froze. "What..?" She processed what he said a second time as if it wasn't real the first time. "No. The Hero Force is more important than the voice and opinion of just one. If you believe what you say then I'm sure you wouldn't be here as a teacher. There's no way you haven't encountered similar situations as this and you're alive now. What makes this time different?" There was really no use arguing with a drunk man but she wasn't about the shoot the guy. He might have a death wish one way or another but she wasn't going to be the one to do it. It went against what she believed in.

Her hand turned his wrist so the gun would be pointed at her rather than Starr, still firmly grasped in her hand. "So shoot me instead. Don't hurt the others who dream of being useful to protect humanity. Then there'd really be no hope, professor." Their teacher was included in this. He may be an alcoholic from the looks of it and threaten children but he was chosen for a reason. He was still a teacher here for a reason. She'll protect the others because that's what it meant to be a hero for her. Protect and serve as a soldier would, defend the innocent. Her classmates have done nothing wrong to warrant getting shot. They all arrived on time, stayed out of trouble, and patiently waited for him to enter class. Portia wasn't afraid of getting shot, it's not like it'd be the first time. Pain was only temporary after all. Her gaze fixed on his with a serious but calm expression. She didn't tremble or hesitate, not an ounce of fear in her body with the gun pointed at her. All she could think was it'll be worth dying if they're safe.

Keethan watched Portias lecture from his seat from his seat. He wondered if he would get called on, or Oliver was the last one. Honestly though, he felt like the others were spitting out crap. He wasn’t asking why you want to be superhero, he was asking why you need a license. Idiots... he thought to himself. He liked this class right from when he pulled the gun. Instead of a boring introduction, he tossed the class right into a intense scenario. He studied the teachers, waiting for his reaction to Portias lecture. . .

Another shot rang out. Limpdick got the bloody question wrong, prompting the man to fire again. Moron, why didn't you just say what Jim said. The bullet bounced around the room and before she could say anything, hotness tackled her to the ground. Yarra hit her head, closing her eyes and wincing at the pain.

"Hey what..."She cut herself. She was going to go on a barrage about being surprised tackled by the woman, but then she realised that the redhead was on top of her, her chest was on her chest, her legs between hers, she could feel her breathing down her, it was extremely warm...oddly arousing.

Now if only she could get a better peek at her bozonkers while they were at this position.

Hotness got up from her and apologized. Yarra stood up. "Ah mate no need to say sorry, I'm flattered that you were willing to protect me. Tackle me to the ground all you want mate, a bonus if we're naked."

It was Oliver's turn to answer, hopefully, he would be smart enough to just copy Jim's answer.

“I don’t know."

...son of a...

Yarra covered her ears and kneeled to the ground, expecting another shot to bounce around. Instead the teacher, devastated by Oliver's answer, wanted to get shot by Blueberry.

Yarra looked at Blueberry, seeing what her response would be. She did not expect her to point the gun at herself. Yarra began to panic, her heart raising, she couldn't believe her girlfriend was going to kill herself.

"Don't do it Blueberry!" She said. "If the man wants to get shot, let him get shot! Please don't kill yourself for the bastard!"

Victor got the question wrong, the teacher had shot at him. He got the question wrong

As the teacher went over to Oliver, Victor pondered to himself. How did he get a question wrong? The idiot American got it but not him!? A well-educated man like himself with a hero for a parent was outsmarted by someone like him!?

Victor felt his heart get heavier, it was hard to breathe. There was no way he got such a simple question wrong, this must have been a trick or something, there was just no way.

"Hey... you sure this place is for heroes? I mean the teacher seems a little unstable?" Alron asked him.

"Uh...yeah." Victor stammered, slowly calming down. "I supposed he is...that's probably why he thought my answer was wrong, he was just a complete idiot, that's all."

That thought calmed him, feeling relieved at the revelation that his intelligence was not in jeopardy. He wanted to thank Alron for that, but he would probably come across as weird if he did so. As he turned around to look at the commotion at the back, Victor realised something. He remembered Kai talking to them about their teacher, how he was an active hero and how they were lucky to have him. This was the hero he was talking about? There was just no way. Was Kai lying about him, anther trick towards the clueless newbies? Or were they just unlucky enough to have him in the wrong mood.

Things escalated quickly as Portia points the gun at herself. What the hell was she doing? Was she pulling some to make the teacher stop his tirade or something? Whatever she was doing, Victor hoped it would stop the chaos that was happening. This is not what I expected to happen on the first day of school.

Stop disrupting the- Did this man even know what he's saying? And now he had a deathwish? What was wrong with people? "Don't shoot, Portia," Jim said, "And don't shoot her, either. Nobody has to get hurt, here." Attempt to stabilize the situation, find the outcome with the least injured parties. That's what heroes did, right? Help as many people as they could.

Branne nodded at the beginning of Yarra's "It's alright," response, right up until "a bonus if we're naked." Branne was a bit more reserved than Yarra on the front of flirting, "bit" meaning "very much", in this case. Especially considering the circumstances, that was one of the worse things that could have come out of Yarra's mouth, and she was sober! Branne's cheeks flushed as Oliver said "I don't know," sending the two girls, to try and hide from the bullet that was surely about to be fired, except it never came. Now Portia was armed, and urging the teacher to end her instead.

Yarra seemed upset by this outcome, and Branne was in the same boat. What should she do? Take control of the combustion in the gun to prevent the bullet from being fired? At this distance Branne didn't even know if she could, and considering what she'd gleaned from recent events, she'd be expelled for trying. This wasn't good, but hopefully Portia had an actual plan that didn't involve being a bullet sponge."

"You would rather I shoot you instead?" Starr pulled the gun away from Portia and looked over at the two girls on the ground. He squatted down and shifted the gun between Yarra and Branne. “Are you two having fun?” He then walked back over to the front of the class not before placing his gun on Felix’s desk. He took another swing from his flask this time finishing it. “What about you Felix? Who are you going to shoot?” He reached into his desk and tossed it back and forth between his hands. “No wrong answers now.” As to emphasize his point he fiddle with the grenade pin while grasping it with his other hand

Felix was ready for a lot. Mr. Starr wasn't something Felix had really faced before: A real psycho. Sure, there were plenty of mad scientists, but this was a new level of crazy, without a lot of obvious smarts to back it up, or an ego to protect. Felix started observation, a list of things that could help him;

The questions. If one got them right, Starr wouldn't shoot them. If they were wrong, Starr would at least sort of shoot at them. Jim was the only one hurt, but he'd threatened others. Would Starr actually try to kill anyone? Jim admitted he was unkillable, and got shot in the foot for it. Well, assuming that was intentional. The lazy way Starr held the firearm suggested he wasn't actually aiming at anything... But that could just be reliance on his powers. What were his powers?

The desks and walls were impervious to gunfire. If Felix was desperate, he could flip one over for cover, or possibly make a break for the door and leave. The bullets couldn't go through walls, and out in an open hallway, Mr. Starr's lackluster aim meant he'd be a much harder target. He was too close right now, though. In fact, he was approaching.

The Guns. Portia had a gun. He could maybe convince her to use it. And now Mr. Starr had given HIM a gun. And had the courtesy to stay in close range. Practically point blank. Felix could shoot him. Or at least convincingly bluff the man...

The Grenade. Oh hell. Felix couldn't see any way to use the grenade against Mr. Starr unless he hugged the man and pulled the pin. Or somehow got it away from him. Felix was sure he'd pull the pin if he grabbed it. And Felix didn't see a way to hold the spoon shut while he took it. Plus, Felix probably couldn't get rid of it if the windows were just as bulletproof. Maybe Felix could put a bullet through his wrists or something, and get him to drop it that way?...

The bluff. Mr. Starr was threatening to shoot students and blow himself up along with a good portion of them. But he was a teacher. Sure, he shot Jim's foot, but even if Jim wasn't some kind of immortal superhuman, a foot shot was far from fatal. With the technology available, even Felix would make a full recovery here. Mr. Starr looked and sounded dead serious, but Felix started to see it. This wasn't a madman's test, and Mr. Starr wasn't just crazy. Yes, this was INSANE, but it was supposed to be a test for heroes. A 'dangerous' situation to gauge how they'd react to real danger. He'd shot Jim's foot to give the illusion of real danger, but in the end, even if Portia shot him, or herself, nobody would be hurt for good. Live or not, the grenade was just as much bluff as the rest of the situation. So...

"Nobody, I call!"

He said, flipping up the desk, standing, and moving to grab Mr. Starr in a hug/tackle. It was all a bluff. And Felix planned to call him on it. If he was wrong... Well, nobody else would die, and he, the living weapon, everyone's tool, would be dead. The world would be a touch safer. But Felix was certain, CERTAIN, that this was all a test. The self-sacrifice move made sense in a test, and Felix was sure that even if he was 'wrong', he would at least neutralize the 'threat' Mr. Starr posed... And do it without firing a shot, the 'heroic' way. Mr. Starr was so close, Felix was sure the man couldn't dodge away in time, either. How could he see it coming?... If only Felix knew that Mr. Starr was guaranteed to see it coming. The man saw the future, after all.

Starr leaned back on his desk and tilted his head as he watched Felix attempt to do whatever he did. The boy seemed to be very confident when he wanted to call Starr’s bluff but before he could even fully stand 316 sent a painful jolt through his body. His body hit the floor hard, the shock seemed even harder evident by the drool coming from Felix’s mouth. Starr tapped his desk and a screen popped up he disabled the talkies putting them back to their normal function. The red talkies turned back to the plain silver bracelets and Felix was allowed to recover. “Wrong.” Starr then pulled the pin and threw the grenade up in the air towards the students. As the students did whatever they would do to shield themselves the grenade went off. The blast waved over the students in an intense heat, a loud bang was heard yet no one seemed to be harmed. The heat soon faded and those that were brave enough to look up would see the grenade floating in mid air, the fragments that would have killed them bounced around a purple force field before losing all momentum. The shield was then dropped and the rest of the grenade fell onto Arlon’s desk.

The sound of someone clearing their voice announced the presence of another person. Standing in the doorway was a covered figure, whose face was covered except for her eyes. She had been the one to cast the force field, she looked around the classroom, her eyes showing mild concern.

“Ah Genie, welcome.” Starr was beginning to slur his words; it was clear he was leaning on the desk for balance now.

“The class...they are late. I'm here to pick them up” The stranger spoke confirming it was a woman. She looked over the class, stepping in when Starr motioned for her to come in. She stood in the front of the class, darting her eyes to Starr then quickly back to the class.

“This is Genie, most of you guys have probably heard about her.” The woman said nothing, but even without the introduction some of them would have been able to figure that out. Genie was a very well known name. She reached international status before she made her first public appearance. Every hero had their gimmick, some were more approachable than others. Then there was Genie, whose name alone could stop a criminal in their tracks. You would never see someone like her stopping a robbery, or letting kids sit on her shoulders for pictures. Some heroes were so locally known that you could signal them with a light in the sky, or even a special phone booth. The only people who seemed to be able to contact Genie and get her to listen were government officials, and even then it was no guarantee. What was known was that when she was called in, it was a guarantee she would be successful. For those who did not keep up on the lives of heroes she was commonly known for being a rival of Doom. Doom was the most infamous villain ever recorded in modern history. Almost everyone's lives were affected by Doom, whether directly or indirectly. He has been responsible for the deaths of multiple heros, and took over Brazil, almost wiping out the entire population. The fact that Genie was able to combat him, and even get the upper hand was proof of her ability. She was also rumored to take over for Hero man. There was no one else that could compare to him. Sure her and Hero man were leeps apart, but she had proven herself to take on world changing missions even with the raw power Hero man seemed to possess. The public has never heard her speak, in fact no one was even sure of her gender. Now the most feared hero in the hero force, was here, in their class. She was intimidating, even at 5’4 and a small frame she could wipe out the class without breaking a sweat. She stopped a live grenade with just the flick of her finger, it wasn’t clear what else she could do. She was the silent and deadly type, but standing next to Starr it seemed her silence was to do with shyness. It seemed ridiculous that someone like Genie could be shy, especially not towards a drunken so called hero. “Are you drun…”

“Okay class, see you tomorrow, most of you failed. Keegan, Margaret...good job” Starr burped into his hand and swayed back and forth as he left the classroom.

Genie

They were left alone with Genie. She said nothing to class, there was a moment of uncomfortable silence. She cleared her throat and tapped and looked at the main desk, Starr had left his folder on his desk. She sighed, shaking her head, picking it up and flipping through what notes he forgot to take with him. It was odd he never needed notes before. She was the forgetful one, even with her face covered the students could see her cheeks turn up and her eyes soften as she smiled. He had left this for her, he figured she would have forgotten to review the class and their powers, it was true she hadn’t even remembered their names. She hugged the folder to her chest like some school girl who had just been invited to prom by her crush. Snapping out of her daydream she turned to the class inviting them to stand and follow her.
“Hello children. You guys can call me Genie if you want, but some students like to call me Ms. Abdu. None of it matters; they are both fake names either way.” It made sense that she would not give out her real name. Not every hero had a secret identity, but Genie’s would be the most precious if you were to rate them. It was annoying for her to come to school in costume everyday, when everyone else wore whatever else they wanted. As they walked down the hall she tried to break the ice. “The first day of class is always an adjustment. I’m sure everyone has been giving you all a hard time.” when they got to the transport chairs she let them all get settled. “Even if no one else has said it...I’m really happy to have you guys here.” It was a short trip down stairs. She would continue to try to make small talk, saying how nice they looked in their uniforms, how special they all were. When they walked into the training room it looked much larger than the view from the observing room. She brought them to a large open area, letting them take in all the sights. The students would have their attention brought back from the sound of crying coming from Abdu. She let out a sniffle wiping a tear from her face. “I’m sorry, i’m sorry. I just know you guys have so much potential. The thought of you all graduating and becoming great Heroes is so heartwarming. To think some of you came here from detention centers and will return society as upstanding citizens.” More tears fell from her eyes, it was surreal to see someone like her be so nice and positive. “Okay enough of that.” She wiped her eyes and opened up her folder. “Yarra Hale?” she looked out at the group of students not sure who was who. Just as she spoke another person came into the room. Princeton made his way towards the group, his red uniform in crisp condition. “Ms. Abdu.” He gave her a professional smile and was greeted by her cheery demeanor.

“Princeton! It’s always good to see you.”
“Ms Abdu you just saw me.”
“Oh...oh my am I being too clingy. I am so forgetful, gosh you guys must be so disappointed in me all the time.” she looked generally upset which sent Princeton into a slight worry.
“No no, Ms Abdu I am happy you are happy to see me. You are everyone's favorite teacher I was just teasing please.” He sighed running his hands through his thick curls. This seemed to be rather normal exchange, for a woman who gave people nightmares she seemed to be rather sensitive and extremely good natured.
“So what can I do for you Princeton.”
“You called me here…”
“I did?”
“Yes...the reform?”
“Ah yes yes the reform. Yarra please go with Princeton here, he can take you to your next class.” she also seems to be very forgetful. Some could wonder how such a ditzy minded person was able to foil some of Doom’s most complicated plans. She watched the two leave and waved goodbye. “Now i’m sure you guys have a lot of questions.” She led the group over to what looked like a sparing area. She placed the folder down and turned to the group. “Welcome to the training room. Most of you have a pretty good grip on your powers, how else would you have gotten here.” Her eyes revealed a smile to match her teasing tone. “Now obviously the steps to being a hero is a little bit more complicated than being powerful. We can’t all be Tana...Hero man.” Something about her body language changed. Maybe it was the aura itself that changed, matching the reputation the students had expected of her. “But it’s a good place to start. Now Hit me. You can attack all at once or take turns, but you'll only get one hit. I just need to assess all your capabilities. You can use the weapons if you like.” She then lifted her legs sitting criss cross in the air. “It’s okay, I promise I won’t hit you all back” She gave everyone one a thumbs up for support then closed her eyes and seemed to meditate.

River wasn't the only familiar face in the tiny group. Sitting on the couch was Miles. He was one of bullies from lunch earlier. "Yarra, please come take a seat, we have been waiting for you." The counselor bot spoke, motioning for her to choose her seat.
"Speak for yourself." the girl seemed rather annoyed by Yarra, or maybe it was her mood.
"This is what we waited for?" Miles shared Laura's disdain. He threw his head back staring up at the ceiling in disappointment. River said nothing, he did not even look up at Yarra. Willow sat n a chair in front of the fireplace. Yarra could choose to sit in the other bean bag next to laura, share a couch with Miles, or sit by herself on the couch River laid his head on.

The teacher took the gun from Portia as he looked over the two idiots on the ground. Portia's plan actually worked, not only she did not have to shoot someone, but she seemed to calm down the teacher. Clearly she had a superior intellect, especially in comparison to all the other idiots in the school. Victor aligning himself with her would truly be beneficial. The teacher chose Felix to target, handing over the gun at him and as he threatens to blow all of them with a grenade.

Victor's heart dropped, he could not tell anymore if the man was truly faking it or not, he looked closely at Felix for his response. Felix quickly stood up to do...something, but before he could execute his plan, he was tased, stopping him from moving. The man went up to its computer and pressed buttons, stopping to shock Felix was receiving.

"Wrong." He said as pulled the pin and threw the grenade towards them. Victor instinctively put his hands together, glowing a bright golden colour. He had no time to think. He stood and jumped towards Felix as his hands formed together into a shield. The shield had a red cross on it and it was only big enough to block their upper torso, it would have been bigger if Victor formed his entire body. If he was going to die, he may as well do it saving someone.

He closed his eyes as he held the shield above them, bracing for an impact...instead, all he felt was the heat. He opened his eyes. lowering his arms to see that the pieces of the grenade were trapped inside some sort of forcefield. The forcefield disappeared, dropping its contents on Alron's table. With his powers, Victor doubt he needed any protection.

"Well, looks like we're even then," Victor said to Felix, giving him a welcoming smile. Odd both of them tried to protect each other's life from the danger that never existed.

A figure cleared her voice, catching Victor's attention. The figure wore an oversized coat and it seemed she was the one who had protected them from being blown away. The teacher and the figure exchanged a few words, revealing that the hooded figure was the illusive Genie.

Genie!, Victor thought. The Genie! One of the greatest heroes in the world! The one who rivals Doom! The one rumoured to be the one to take over Hero Man, that Genie!

The teacher left them alone with Genie. There was an uncomfortable silence before she came to the table and picked up the document the drunk left. Victor could not believe what he was seeing, one of the most elusive and strongest heroes was here in this school, teaching them.

She walked them outside the classroom and guided them through the hallway, referring herself as Ms Abdu. Victor inspected her deeply, there were popular heroes who had never seen her before and yet here she was like she was just like any other teacher. Victor's strong admiration for her then quickly vanished when she started talking.

The way she talked was just...awkard, she was less of a powerful hero and more of a ditzy aunt trying to relate with her nephew and niece. Victor would internally cringe every time she would compliment them. This was not what he expected from Genie, he expected someone who was stern and strong, never letting out her emotions and was extremely efficient, a lot like her mum.

They reached the training room. Upon entering, Victor awed in the size and beauty of it. It looked way more impressive in person than it was in the observation room. This was going to the place where he will push his power and skills, he was not limited by his limp anymore and so his potential will be fully realised. He will become the best student here, it will be the building block to be the best hero.

Victor's fantasy quickly vanished when he heard Ms Abdu-

Crying!? One of the best heroes in the world is crying now!?

As she struggled to talk, a boy approached them and talked to her. The boy was from yesterday, he was the one who was able to tame Heather. Victor lusted for his red uniform, a symbol of greatness within this school. From what he had seen so far from the boy, he definitely deserved the status that came with that uniform. Victor knew his goal, to obtain the same status as him.

The boy left with the Australian drunkard. Good riddance, knowing her she would probably try and flirt with the teacher.

She led to what seemed to be a sparring area. When she talked, something changed about her. She was still the same ditzy person from before, but her aura changed, she was more...intimidating.

She challenged all of them to hit her, as she stood there to meditate. Going against a strong hero like her seemed like a good way to test Victor's skills.

He rushed to her, throwing away any caution or plan. The limitation of his body was gone, time to see what he could do. He leapt into the air, his left leg glowing brightly, way brighter than before, it was almost blinding. His legs formed into the blade of a katana. Victor was going to kick her with it, delivering a devastating blow...that was until he dropped to the floor.

The impact on his face was immensely painful. The red in his face was not from the impact, but from the shame he felt. He just embarrassed himself in front of one of the top heroes, sure it was not someone he liked, but she was someone to be respected. Victor wished she was at least too busy with the other students to see his failure.

He wanted to crawl away, he wanted to go to the sleeping quarters and stay there for the rest of the day, he wanted to quit. But he could not quit, there must be a way to turn this around. Victor thought quickly thought of a plan, it was not perfect but it was all he had.

Victor started to fake weep, as he put his hand under his stomach. "I am such a failure." He cried as his hand glowed. "I do not deserve to be here...I should just go home..." His glowing hand transformed into a webly revolver.

He laid on the ground, fake weeping. Then he pulled his arm out and fired towards Ms Abdu's head.

Abdu/Instructor
Training room

Abdu seemed to be rather relaxed while she sat up in mid air. Her right eyebrow lifted slightly as Victor went in for his attack, showing that she was listening. She lifted one eyelid slightly when the boy crashed to the ground. It had not been her that had done that. Had he tripped? When he continued to lay on the ground Abdu became slightly concerned. She let her feet fall to the floor again and she walked over to the crying boy. “Oh no no are you okay?” She knelt down to pat his head but before she could comfort him Victor had moved his hand towards her head to fire a shot. Without even blinking Abdu had her hand over the barrel of the gun as it fired into her hand. She had a firm grip on his hand/gun, more than firm, it was almost crushing. Even with Victor attempting a head shot Abdu’s eyes were still filled with worry. It was as if his attack meant little to her. “You aren’t a failure. Don’t let anyone tell you that, not even yourself.” Maybe it was the over concern of Victor’s fake breakdown that got her distracted, but her crushing grip became harder as she forced his arm down. With her other hand she went to pat his head but stopped short of contact. The beeping of Victor's talkie caught her attention, thanks to 316 Abdu was able to see her intense grip on Victor and let go.

James watched Felix get tazed. He wasn’t sure the goal, here, but as much as Felix freaked out about his ability being used incorrectly, at the very least he should be able to tank a hit that weak. Then again, a weak hit to Jim was potentially fatal for everyone else, so maybe Jim should be worried.

He didn’t get to act on that, however, before Star undid the tazing and then flung a GRENADE! ‘Shit shit shit shit shit!’ Figuring out the path, which he had a lot of practive guestimating grenade arcs due to how ubiquitous a secondary weapon they were in video games, he hopped a desk to catch it, have it explode into him instead of the other people. James was a tank, that’s what he did. Instead, he bounced headfirst off of a force field! Who the hell had force field powers in here?

He landed sideways on the back of a chair before both James and the chair hit the floor. It felt like he’d cracked his pelvis doing that, but that was impossible from the forces of that impact and the bouncing of his fall. More than likely he’d landed with something sticking out against him.

“This is Genie, most of you guys have probably heard about her,” had Jim upright quickly, though. Jim’s knowledge of specific heroes was very limited, but not altogether absent. Mostly through video game demos and newscasts that were shut down as quickly as they came up, a name and maybe a face if he was lucky. Superheroes seemed to be the only celebrities that didn’t like having media outside of t-shirts and coffee mugs. Hell, his rig back home was based on Cyber Angel’s power armor, down to the lights. But beyond basic merch it was damn near impossible to ger any info on what some of these heroes could do. Genie was one of them. How the hell do you get a fearsome reputation but silence any attempt to show why you have it? The abilities in demos ranged from Superman to Forget-Me-Not, but apparently forcefields were one of the things she could do.

James was a special kind of stupid. Without an actual reason to believe a reputation, he disregarded it. Oh, you’re a bad ass? How? Oh, you won’t say? Well alright then. She was in a position of authority, and seemed to be more levelheaded than the drunken freak Starr was, so he regarded her for a legitimate authority figure, but her reputation didn’t mean a damn thing if there wasn’t an actual reason for it. So she opposed this Doom guy? What can he do? He sounded like just a politician if the stories were true, it ain’t hard to beat up a politician, at least it didn’t seem like it would be, especially with force fields.

And then she started crying. Really not off to a good start, who cries about potential? James was starting to think that there was no way in hell she was anywhere near as big a badass as she was made out to be, as much of a pushover as she was acting. What was going on, here?
--------------------
Once the class was taken to the training room, and Genie urged them to hit her, alarm bells went off all over James’ gamer brain. A montage of every movie, book, and video game where a mentor character instructed a student character to hit them flashed before his eyes. There was no way in hell any of them would possibly be able to hit Genie. Even if she was a pushover, this challenge was a staple and James knew the genre.

Which Victor then proved immediately as she caught his- what the hell kind of attack was that? Well, she caught it, told him the falsehood of his feint, and nearly crushed his hand.

“Well, no way in hell Imma be able to touch her,” James decided out loud. He didn’t even have a ranged power, and he doubted he could bull rush through that, not without some very specific mutations.

Actually, that could work. Blondie had an idea. There were several animals that could attack from a distance, he just had to find the right combination.

Wait, she said they could use weapons. That could help him figure this out. He went over to the rack to examine his weapons. Swords, batons, small arms… whips? What the- Not important, he decided. For what he was thinking, he only need a baton. He picked one up, checked it, and then closed his eyes. Evolve!

Fur grew on Jim’s hands and then turned into sharp spines as he turned and took off at Genie as she fussed over Victor, swinging the baton like a baseball bat. Very obviously not how you were supposed to use the baton, but the there was a method to the madness. Even if she caught the baton, James’s hand spines would dislodge and shoot out like a porcupine, carrying a weak venom like a tarantula. Enough to hurt, but not to do permanent damage.

As the grenade soared in the air, Branne panicked. High explosive, people, crap! Death! Not today! She put out her hand to take control of the spark before it could detonate, but a purple force field beat her to it, containing the explosion and keeping James from getting between the blast and others.

Starr introduced the new person as Genie, and then she said she could also be called Ms. Abdu. Branne had no knowledge of what superheroes could do, so she didn’t quite understand why everyone else was freaking out over Abdu appearing.

The trip down to the arena was nerve wracking for Branne, both because the chairs, and also because Yarra was yoinked elsewhere. Branne barely knew how to function in this environment even with someone to explain it, she’d been going from spot to spot trying to figure it out. She could spot cliques, and attempt to navigate. She could conversate with people. She did not know how anything else worked around here, so she was going in totally blind from here on.

At least the chairs didn’t make her sick like before. She still spent the ride clutching her stomach expecting to need to vomit at any moment. When they finally got down to the training arena, and they were instructed to try and attack Genie, Branne was confused. She wanted them to hurt her? Branne didn’t know what the others could do, but for Branne’s power that was legitimately dangerous to everyone involved. Best to wait for her turn so she didn’t fry everyone in the radius.

First Victor, who was swiftly dealt with, then James, and however he did what he did. There had to be an actual plan there, even he wasn’t that stupid to just go in swinging a stick. Once Abdu dealt with Jim however she would, Branne took her turn. The air shimmered around her as she built heat, then a spark appeared between her palms as a ball of fire grew out of nowhere.

She grew the ball of fire to the size of a basketball, before rearranging her hands and stance like she was about to release a flamethrower-type move. It almost worked. Almost. Branne really wasn’t good under pressure, and rather than the beam of fire she was after, the ball of fire just left her hands, traveled forward a few feet, and then just stopped existing, leaving Branne in a stupid position.

Red in the face, embarrased at her failure, Branne turned on her heels and hid behind the closest person to her at the time, Felix.

star throwing the grenade into the air caused margate to flinch just a little bit really only closing her eyes. she wasn't exactly worried about it if anything she'd hopefully come out of it with maybe a missing limb... the people here could probably reattach it or something. opening her eyes she'd smile just slightly everything was totally fine... and they were saved by genie she was rather famous all over honestly it was no wonder she was here though the more she listened to her the more margate felt something was off she was... way too nice compared to most of the staff here like OVERLY nice. keeping these thoughts to herself margate followed everyone else to the training room. the task was it hit genie? the woman that just bubbled a grenade? yeah, that was gonna end badly victor almost managed to get a hit off on her with a play on emotions. of course that failed horribly alongside Branne and James also coming to a similar ending of failing to her... how was margate even suppose to do it? well, she could try it wasn't like margates abilities would help her actually hit genie at all soo.. she'd just try to punch her... that was about all she could do...

As abdu stood up she grabbed Victor by the collar throwing him out of the way as she dodged James attack. She moved just barely out of the way, tripping the boy but grabbing his arm before he could fall down. When she pulled him back up to his feet she realized the spikes in her hand. Her eyes showed a warm smile as she nodded at James then looked over towards Branne. "Try again." Her voice was encouraging and cheery even as she pulled the spikes out of her hand. She clinged her fist and the venom could be seen dripping out of her. As she walked over towards Branne she noticed Margate coming towards her. She lifted a a shield up, yellow in color, only to see it disappear when coming in contact with Margate's fist. She squinted her eyes as she dodged the hit. Something seemed to bother her. Her cheery disposition vanished for a moment and she looked up at the viewing room. She shook of what negative thoughts she had and returned to her scatterbrain self as she closed the distance between her and Branne. "Whenever your ready...give it another try okay?"

much like Margate arlon wasn’t really convinced by abdu’s overly nice nature it just seemed.... wrong especially with someone of her reputation though he didn’t have too much time to dwell on this as they were instructed to try and hit abdu so far most attempts seemed fruitless Margate managed to break the shield however... interesting It seemed to be a surprise to abdu too. Using this moment to sink down almost totally flat on the floor Arlon would be able to slither almost silently towards there instructor waiting for the right moment Alron would take his chance when she was talking to branne essentials slinging his mass towards her expanding out so that he took up as much surface area as possible to hit abdu though it would also likely hit branne too.

Felix had regrets. Being tased by the bracelet was one hell of a cheap move, and Felix felt cheated. Had he broken a rule? Or was Mr. Starr the one outside the rules? Either way, Felix was at least able to remain conscious long enough to see the grenade contained by... Genie? THAT genie? The legend? Felix was awed to be in her presence. Then... She was so... Nice. The few times she made public appearances, she seemed to exude power and intimidation, but... She was nice? This was maybe the first pleasant surprise he’d had in this school. And now he had to punch her.

Part of Felix didn’t want to hit her, but she could contain a grenade with her shield powers. A quick jab to the stomach wouldn’t phase her. But he still watched the others try first. Victor’s bluff got shockingly close to working. James didn’t quite get a clean shot, but he’d stuck her with some spines. Venomous ones, if the dripping fluids were anything to go by. Margate missed entirely, but clearly demonstrated that her drain ability was more than enough to remove Genie’s shield. Branne’s attempt to throw fire was... well, a little sad, but Genie wanted her to try again. Branne was right behind him, and Genie was coming right up on the two. A plan formed. And the gooey one from the lab tried his attack, now. Felix quickly grabbed Branne by the arm and pulled her away, trying to keep her from getting hit. But, crucially, he used this moment, this opportunity, to use his power. To give Branne a helping hand.

“Woah, watch it!... Geez. I’d take that next shot soon, Branne. You can do this. I’ll back you up.”

he said, feeling power flow from him into the burning hot heroine... Too hot. Felix briefly wondered if boosting her flame power was a mistake as he pulled his hands away and got ready to follow her lead. Or hit the dirt. He was starting to suspect it would be more the latter.

Pure heat shot out of Branne’s body in every direction as Felix did… whatever that was. If normally she was warm enough to soften plastic, right now she made metal glow. Hot enough that whoever was within arms reach of her was getting burned, there was no dodging a heatwave unless you could move faster than thermal energy.

Normally, Branne’s control was tentative at best. Being surprised or getting irritated could send sparks flying. Right now, control just jumped out the top floor window and splatted onto the street below. Burning hot was an understatement, Branne had never expected to have to, nor was she capable of, containing so much destructive energy. The redhead’s eyes went wide as she realized what was coming. “Run!” She started glowing as her red hair started to flicker white.

Branne simply exploded.

White and blue fire spread in all directions. Metal turned red and started to wilt. Concrete softened under people's feet. Soaring into the thousands of degrees in seconds, just about anything was flammable at these temperatures. Around Margate, the flames parted like the Red Sea as her entropy field sucked the energy out of the flames before they could touch her. The flames licked at Alron, but didn’t seem to do much damage to him aside from make the less solid parts bubble and warm the rest of him. At Jim, the flames baked the boy as his outer layers of skin hardened into an insulative layer to protect him, rendering him an immobile statue as the fire burned around him. Anyone else that was resistant to energy--based damage had their own abilities counter or reduce how badly the flames hit them.

And at the center of the explosion was a charred uniform at the feet of white flames in a vaguely humanoid form, floating a few inches off the ground. This kind of fire was not something Branne was capable of fueling for more than a few seconds, and just as the redhead finally managed to stabilize the flames, they were flickering and dying out, returning to their normal red color and retreating back to Branne, shooting back into the flaming figure as she reconstituted herself. Felix’s boost still rendered her unable to return to flesh form. At the temperatures she had been burning at, she’d almost certainly triggered the sprinklers. If those still functioned, Branne was doomed, water burned her when she was in fire form just like fire burned other people. Even if they didn’t, she wouldn’t be able to maintain this forever, and she would burn out as she ran out of fuel, rendered an emaciated version of herself as her body couldn't support anymore fire.

what happened soon after Margate failed her own attack failed was crazy.. Felix tapped Branne and then it was as if hell broke loose for the girl. Branne screaming turning out to blast fire out in ever direction Margate wincing only to realise that the flames were going around her, that was lucky though it didn't take long to realise that Felix was in serious trouble thinking fast Margate would lunge at Felix essentially tackle/grabbing him to the ground to put it lightly getting tackled by a massive scale woman isn't the best experience especially when said woman would drain your energy upon contact... and there was definitely a lot of contact. "pk ok... is everyone already now? Branne.. you... ok Branne isn't ok at all seriously Felix what the.. wait no he.." she said realising probably two people had passed out but on the bright side... least she saved someone's life... right?

Right after the odd explosion happened, he knew it was his chance. In his one hand a gun and another hand, a knife. He had carefully planned this so it would work

He first shot at Genie 3 times at the left shoulder, and then came the real attack

He teleported right behind her right shoulder, and striked right at her shoulder

And tripped

While running he had slipped on water from the sprinklers and face planted on the concrete

”Shit, so close” he said wiping water from his face

Abdu caught Arlon confining him to yellow force field. The slimy boy was able to move around but was restricted to the amount he can expand. She then threw Arlon up in the air and formed a purple shield around him which kept him suspended in the air. Branne talkie turned green, 316 informing her she was going into battle mode, she also informed James she was doing the same thing. Both of their talkies split, removing themselves from the wrist of the two students to float above their heads. 465, the school's main database and the hive mind for Willow,Ollie, and Jeff, deployed the fire extinguishers. The training room received little damage as Abdu’s green shield caught most of it before cracking from the blast. The fire never made it past a few feet but did swallow the hero and those close to her and Branne. The hooded woman snuffed out the fire then using a shield forced the air out of branne lungs and suffocated her then caught her limb body on a yellow force field. She looked up at Arlon and dispersed the purple shield he was one and lowered him down on a green one. She helped Margaret and Felix up and looked around to make sure no one else was too hurt. She looked up at the viewing room again and let out a sigh. 316 did vital checks on everyone and for Branne and James, got out of battle mode and returned to their wrist. When Keethan tried to shoot at her 316 sent a shock, jolting the gun out of his hand. Abdu was trying to do damage control and in her distracted state she might actually have hurt Keethan.

“Is there a problem?” A male voice spoke over an unseen intercom, the unfortunate few would recognize it to be Katio.

“Everything is fine.” Abdu casted a dark black shield over Branne, their uniforms were fire resistant but not for that level of intensity.

“Willow will watch over her.” As the words came out of his mouth a Willow bot walked in walking over to the unconscious Branne hidden in the shadow shield. “Send the rest back to class.”

Abdu turned her gaze back to the viewing room, her cheery demon faded into a frustrated scowl. “I think they have had enough for the day.”

“That’s not your decision to make.”

Abdu was growing more frustrated, the relationship between her and Katio was not a pleasant one it would seem. “And if I make it mine?” The silence was intense as everyone waited for the man to respond.

“Then I will deal with you personally.”

Abdu’s fist clenched and she took a step forward as the situation continued to intensify. She then let out a sigh and turned back around to class. “316 send them to the dome there is a spar going on” She walked to the door as it slid open Pip came walking in. He said nothing to Abdu and walked right over the shadow mass. The shield vanished when Abdu was out of sight and he took his lab coat off to cover Branne and carry her off. 316 spoke to the class telling them to head back to their dorms and get into their greys. They would have a chance to clean up if they wanted to. When they did reach their rooms all damage done from this morning was gone. Their greys had been washed and neatly folded back into their lockers. Ollie was scooting across scanning for messes.

When the firestorm of hellish proportions opened up, James’s ability kicked into overdrive. His skin solidified into a rocky barrier, freezing him in place. His cells switched to anaerobic respiration, and the water in his body began to concentrate between his muscles and the outer layer of insulation. He heard a beep as the 316 told him it was battle mode, but he couldn’t move, and his nerves disconnected with the outer layer, so he couldn’t feel the bracelet disconnect. He did feel the chill asthe fire extinguishers killed the flames and the temperature dropped hundreds of degrees in seconds, slowly going down to room temperature. His shell cracked, and then shattered, blondie was free once more!

As his skin and hair grew back and he fumbled around for his spectacled, pieces of the shell fell out of his clothes and hit the floor. He put his glasses on and was briefly confused. He couldn’t see out of them. Thinking they were foggy from the sudden change in humidity from the fire extinguishers, and tried to wipe them. No dice, there were no lenses, they’d cracked and shattered. He realized the frames had warped in the heat as well. “You’ve got to be kidding me,” he muttered. “Evolve!”

His eyes did not evolve, however. At the voice of Yurie, sight was less of a dire necessity to staying alive, and he felt his skin harden again, but he couldn’t see the danger, forcing his other senses to heighten until he had a rough idea of where he was in relation to everyone and everything around him. Good thing he played a lot of video games, because he had seen enough echolocation powers to have a way to visualize what his ears detected. He had silhouettes and smells telling him who was where, but that was better than nothing.

“Where’s the door?”, He asked, still fumbling around a bit as they were ushered back to the dorm, still fumbling a bit and partly relying on touch to double check the walls were there.

Once back at the dorm, he made a beeline for his locker, fishing out his spare set of glasses and cramming them onto his face. “Okay,” he said as the super senses went back to normal, “What was that? One second Branne could barely make a spark and the next she went supernova, the hell just happened, there?” He was changing into the grey uniform as he asked that question.

“Felix, I saw you next to her, did you see anything?”, he asked the boy that looked particularly singed at that moment.

The fire extinguishers got to Branne before the vacuum did. She didn’t even get a chance to scream because as soon as the flame retardants charred her, the vacuum yanked the air out of her lungs.

The last thing she saw was black, but whether it was losing consciousness or Genie’s shadow shield, she couldn’t have known, and offered no resistance as Pip carried her off.

Oh, the joy of finally getting out of class. The student council lead her away from the rest of her peers, she worried that she did something stupid and now being sent to the front office or something to be punished. She was glad to be away from that Abdu person, a total weirdo wearing an oversized coat, couldn't even tell if she was cute or not.

At least she was with Princeton now. She tried to listen in to what he saying, though her attention to his dump truck of an ass. Them boys probably jiggle.

Princeton left her on the counsellor's office. Such a shame. Inside was the pretty boy who guide them earlier, some girl she hasn't seen before and one of the wankers who ruined their launch. The counsellor told her to sit but not without some comments from the bully and the girl.

"Ah, you wanna go, mate?" She said. "I could take you bloody on right here if that councillor wasn't here."

She sat down nearby the pretty boy, especially he was the only not being a pain in the ass.

Felix tried to stop it. He tried to retract his power. But he was too slow. He remembered turning away, and still being blinded by the light. He remembered the air being knocked from his lungs and hitting the ground. He remembered the sensation of being on fire.

Faces and voices flitted in and out in front of him. Someone with glasses called his name and mentioned Branne. Did he see what Felix did? The android took someone, looking not burnt but nearly dead. Felix didn’t see them clearly. Who was that? Margate? Branne? He didn’t know. Then he saw an unfamiliar feminine face. Felix couldn’t make out details any more, but she moved like a machine. He felt movement, and he slipped away again.

The next time his eyes opened, he was face down. An operating table? He heard tools and artificial voices. He felt something being sprayed into his back, and it burned. He seized, then a mask was tightened onto his face. He smelled anesthetic, and he slipped away again.

I must be salvageable if I’m here. I have to be fixable. I have to be... What? What am I now?
Incomplete. Unrefined. Limited.
I need to have complete control over my ability, master myself, and break my limits... That’s why I’m here.
The power must flow.
I have to be more willing to experiment, but I need to be careful, too. I don’t want to repeat... That.
You are a Font of power.
I need to use that power.

The girl gave nothing more than a roll of her eyes, she looked as if she had more to say but darted her eyes at the willow bot and sunk back down in her beanbag. As she walked by Miles to get to the couch with River he made no effort to move out of her way to make it easier for her, but It did not seem to bother Yarra as she brushed past him. River still laid his head on the seat cushion, turning his gaze slightly towards Yarra as she took her seat on the other side of the couch. He didn't seem to be bothered by her being there but he did continue to stare at her while the Willow 2002 spoke.

"Thank you for joining us. Today we will be focusing on the change within. It must be hard to come to terms that your parents were bad people, but we must understand our faults. Lets go around and share our faults. What makes you a bad person" The counselor had an artificial tone of positivity that went well with her unmoving smile. She tuned to the girl on the beanbag, "Laura." The girl side sitting up straight ready to get this whole thing over with.
"Hey im student R007. My parents were anarchist villains, they are in the psych ward. She paused looking up at the group of reforms seeming a little guilty in the words she was about to say. “When I was five I once flipped a bus. I don’t know what happened to the kids inside, I ran away.” she crossed her arms and sunk down in the bean bag and turned her head away from the others.

“Miles.” without missing a beat Willow 2002 turned her attention to the boy sitting on the couch. “Miles…”

He let out a sigh and sat up. “Yo im student R006. My father worked at dark core…” dark core was natriouse for developing weapons for villains or mass destruction. “I ran away and use to help other ppl break into banks in exchange for foo”

“There is no justification for crime.” Willow interrupted the boy.

“Fine I broke into banks ,whatever. Not like I took anything for myself.” The boy grumbled and folded his arms as he slumped into his seat.”

(Teacher is stark, see the lore)

Lexi was in the dorms but she did not seem to be staying. As Jim and Arlon came in she brushed her way through not speaking or even looking at him. She was either mad something was bothering her. From how she tried to avoid eye contact in a submissive manner it could be she was fearful. When everyone got dressed 316 would send directions for them to head to the dome. They had to go outside, a few students were seen going here and there, even some instructors. It was still quiet, maybe things would lighten up when school was over. 316 would lead the students to the back of the main building. It was a long walk, but even from the distance the white dome was huge. They would finally get to the entrance and scanned their way in. Almost like the view room but on ground level and much larger the students could see a few other students and a teacher with them. The teacher would look over at the students and motions for them to come over but he said nothing to him as he looked out in the dome. There appeared to be a fight going. Someone was jumping up in the air and trying to grab hold of a winged student. The uniforms were also different. Instead of the normal red, blue, or yellows they appeared to be dressed in what could be a soccer uniform. The other students watching in the viewing dug out area were also in this uniform, there seemed to be two teams. When they got closer they could now see the two students were Princeton and Heather. So she could fly, and was very good at it. It wasn’t clear what the point was but if it was a game of keep away, Heather was too fast and too agile. Until Princeton threw his shoe at an insane speed with a force that could break her nose. She was barely able to dodge it, mainly because she couldn’t even see it coming. She fell to the ground, then tried to fly back up again but her ankles were grabbed by Princeton who flung her around with ease hitting her on the ground repeatedly. Ooos and ouches sounded off from the students. Heathers humming bird like wings returned and she tried to fly away but was now just in a tug of war with her leg against Princeton. It was a losing battle and Princeton let her ago even though Heathers kicks to his face did not seem to bother him. “I yield.” He looked over to the instructor who gave a nod to Princeton. Heather floated down and pushed Princeton as he walked away.
“What do you mean you yield...Hey! Don’t walk away from me what do you mean you...”
“I’m not going to bother sparing with someone who doesn’t take it seriously.” Princeton was stopped when Heather ran in front of him.
“Taking it seriously? Oh I’m sorry that I could not get out of your grip, we aren’t all born with super strength” Princeton moved her to the side staying calm despite her frustration.
“I doubt you could have, but you didn’t even try.”
“Excuse me?!” Princeton ignored her as he walked over to the dugout. Stark didn’t seem to notice their arguing as he was busy picking out a new set of sparring partners.
“Don’t walk away from me!” Heather looked around frantically then picked up his shoe and threw it at him letting it bounce off his head. All patience seemed to have left his body as he turned around walking back up to Heather grabbing her wrist and dragging her back to the dugout.
“Let me go!” She tried to swat his hand away but was then pinned against the wall by Princeton. A sudden look of nervousness washed over her and Princeton looked like he was going to say something but sighed and let her go, putting his shoe back on and walking over to sit on the bench around some of his team mates. Heather rubbed her wrist ready to rip off someone's head, she kicked the wall letting out a little scream in frustration and then stormed out of the area, but not before pushing on of the girls on her team to the ground out of anger.

Branne

“Do you plan on waking up?” Pip walked silently around the room as he monitored different screens. It was unclear how long she was out, but it was evident that a procedure had taken place. Her entire body was covered in a plasticy type film that was filled with green goo, her head was the only thing left out of it. Thrown on the side of a chair Pip had a blood stained lab coat, it wasn’t evident what he had cut into. With only a lime green slime to protect her modesty Pip was also dressed in a relaxed manner. He had only worn pants and could have been mistaken for a human not it be for his eyes or Branne already meeting him. “How is your memory.” He walked over to her and shined a light in her eyes.

Felix

Felix had a short recovery, waking up in a cryochamber. It was a basic design that could be opened from the inside as well as the out. It was evident he was in the lab due to the colors and tech design. It seemed to be a private area, there were only four other pods all empty except the one adjacent to him. One could easily look inside and see there was another person. If he got closer he could see Lisa laying in the chamber. At least it looked like Lisa, this girl had no head gear and was wearing a black leotard. Felix was still dressed in his uniform so it didn’t seem that one would need to change to be put in the chamber. At least he didn’t. There was a medical bracelet on her arm but He could not read it through the chamber lid. 316 then spoke to inform him of his position. “The rest of your class is currently in the dome with instructor Stark. No agenda has been sent to me.” 316 was subtly asking him what he would like to do. It wasn’t free time and the rest of the class had been given instructions, Felix was either forgotten about or left to his own devices.

Name: Yarra Hale (R011)
Power: Possession
Uniform: Yellow
Location: Councilor office
Interactions: Dumplingboy Dumplingboy

Yarra eyebrows peaked as the android asked the other students questions. They started talking about their past, talking about their parents and past actions.

A shit, this is like a group therapy session.

Yarra was startled when the android asked for her turn to talk.

"Oh me! I..." Yarra sighed, knowing there was no way to get out of it. "Well...where do I start. I didn't have parents, I was an orphan who was taken in by a large church in the middle of no where, it just happened to own an orphanage. If we're sharing our bad acts I guess I could share...my worse one.

"I was like twelve when this happened. There was this girl who, for a lack of a better term, a total bitch. She would bully people, spread rumours and frame the other kids of acts she committed, while also making her seem like the innocent girl in front of the nuns.

"She was the perfect angel to those hold hags, she could do no wrong according to them.

" I was furious that she was always able to pass any consequences, hurting people with no qualms about it. I prayed to God that he would smite her or something. It never happened of course, I guess he was too holy for that... so I decided to take matters to my own hands.

"I led her on top of the orphan for a fight, we aussies love to handle situations with our fist you know? Anyway I had a good strike on her, making her nose bleed. As soon I saw her blood on my knuckles, I licked it up and quickly took control of her.

"Being in her body enraged me, it was like being swallowed by a slimy python.

"I walked towards the edge of the building. I looked down longingly, I wanted that girl to see what was happening to her. I wanted to scare her straight, show her what would happen if she didn't stop, but something came over me.

"I don't why, maybe I just saw the opportunity, maybe God answered my prayers but...I made her jump.

"I remember the feeling of falling, the wind rushing against, my arms flairing as I screamed in horror. I remember the feeling being slammed against the concrete then I gained concious back at my own body.

"People ruled it out as suicide, they never found out it was me. I never felt the need to confess, for some reason I didn't feel guilty for it, to me the place got better once she was gone. Though, it's probably still a fault that makes me a 'bad person'"
