I'm free regarding collaboration on origin stories, and I've got my character's backstory all done, if you want to look and see what you can do with it.

D. Rex D. Rex Bard is going to accumulate a Lunar harem, and at Appearance 1 everyone will wonder how he did it until they hear the first note. You are only allowed to have a single Lunar bond, but we can certainly have a not-celestially-ordained strong connection. Do you have any ideas you're particularly excited about?

Tangentially, the new Terrestrials supplement adds the ability to have a Lunar-Terrestrial bond with the Charm Moon-and-Earth Marriage, which is super cute. Now only Sidereals are left out, or would be if they existed.

Yes, I also noticed that sneaky sneak was a utility slot unfilled, and will keep that in mind.

jaydude jaydude If you're interested in a bond it looks like Haslanti nobility (From your patron family, exiled onto the ice with only minimal supplies, maybe you followed me out into the storm and saved me from Raksha or Ice Walkers or something), or Ice Walker might be interesting (Maybe you defeated me in single combat, but felt some strange urge to spare me, and I now grudgingly owe you my life and yet can't help but like you) - your adopted people and or your eternal enemies are both interesting places to find your bondmate.

Syvvaris Syvvaris Exalted has the nice property that the world is truly immense. The Blessed Isle alone, that big island in the middle of the map, is bigger than all of Asia. This is a blessing and a curse, but for you it means most any fantasy premise you can think of or culture you want to originate from can fit in just fine. Gaps between dots on the map can fit whole earth continents, with all the history and richness that entails. Nexus is a huge multicultural city united in only one defining principle: Nothing must obstruct trade, on pain of death. Your family could draw its noble line anywhere from Varangian soothsayers to Guild merchant princes to Wu-Jianese crime lords. Some questions I might ask myself are:

Where does your noble family draw its power from? Descended from great kings and queens? Wealth beyond measure? Priceless knowledge (blackmail, arcane secrets, alchemical recipes)? Uniquely skilled in some incredibly useful art or craft (The navigator houses in Dune, people who can read the Alethiometer in the Golden Compass, the steelsmiths of Crete in the Iron Age)? A privileged relationship with powerful gods (Perhaps your family has been the high priests of the city god of Nexus or the Eastern god of trade for centuries)? Terrifying martial might? etc

Is your noble house a shadow of its former glory, an underdog on the rise, or even both?

Given the weight of generations bearing down upon you as the scion of such a distinguished lineage, what possessed you to leave home and travel to the icy wastes of the North? How do your family feel about your departure? If you were in line to inherit anything, they were probably relying on you to secure their futures.

You already know there were two life-changing events in Thallus' life: the heroic moment he drew his Second Breath as a Solar, and the moment he awakened to Sorcery. If you know the details of those scenes, you have a lot of the important bits covered.

If you're interested in having a bond we could have both been nobility in Nexus and fled North together - to escape the relentless expectations of family, elope out of/escape our respective arranged marriages, fleeing the same menace, etc. Alternatively, during your journey North you could have intervened to save my life, rescue me, etc. If I've just drawn my second breath you may very well have chanced upon me stumbling out of the icy wastes with no supplies or danger hot on my tail.

Regarding appearance. In his defense he is still recovering from getting shot in the face with half a firewand. (I ran out of points, so had to think up an excuse for the low appearance. Will be the first thing I'll be buying representing it "healing")

Lol was kidding of course. I am pretty sure Psychie is going to seek revenge for all the stupid jokes I have made (and will make as Bard) and have Spider be quite the handful already without a second lunar haranguing him.

As for ideas I'm excited about!

Exploring the solar lunar bond and trying to discover what it means for them without having memories of what they were in their past lives.

Having an epic performance go so well that I go full musical and have a bunch of Dynast break out into song and synchronized dance.

Getting the name Thallus "The Phallus" Yargmedellian so ingrained in the world that it shows up in his wanted posters.

Getting with Jaydude and seeing if maybe Iselsi Rito(Bard) can be an only heir of a house despite being illegitimate and rejected by the houses. Or to have the bloodline be some fun plot in the future. The Iselsi house seems like a fun outlet for intrigue.

Finding a cool artifact lute to help progress Silver Voiced Nightingale style to greater heights.

Causing trouble by disguising myself as an official and barging into a place like I own the place, making them believe it.

Meeting back up with Peleps Ruu, the Admiral who let Bard get away. Bard used to play for her and her crew before he was exalted when they were at port, so had some good ties with them.

To have a bunch of elementals bound to me and incorporate them as a personal orchestra.

Random Word Random Word Are you looking to pull in a Lunar or a Solar? How is the progress on your sheet coming along? I am not trying to push you along; you have plenty of time to get finished.

I'm going to play a Lunar. I can create a character sheet very fast once I've pinned down who they are, but I haven't quite sorted that. When would you like me to have all the mechanics down by?

As I said, there is no rush. I am still waiting for people to reply to their introduction posts. Anytime in the next few days will be good if you can arrange it.

Not going to lie, if you really want to be my Lunar counterpart. We can come up with a backstory, but I was just going to wing it with the simple idea in my head of Thallus.

Hello everyone.

Very much looking forward to be playing with you all. With the quarantine, my regular gaming group haven't been meeting up and I am itching for some gametime.

My concept for this game is a No-Moon who is big into mysticism. Treating with spirits, reading omens in the entrails of animals, establishing some good old cult worship and aiding smallfolk as well as those in power with advice and knowledge of all things supernatural.

Her spirit form is strongly inspired by the Midgard Serpent of Norse mythology, something i attempt to achieve by taking the charm that lets me fuse two animals using a river dragon as a base and fusing it with a poisonous moray eel giving it a serpent body, some fins and the like. Her Tell will be one of the mythical beasts most notable traits, its poisonous blood. (the visible element of that tell would be dark purple-ish blood and maybe something wrong and unnatural when she opens her mouth like the shape of her tongue and tint of saliva being wrong)

Working on the sheet right now.

We are going to be very much a sorcery-heavy group. Interesting. It will be nice to see how it all comes out.

Oh, i am not gonna be playing a sorcerer. I am likely to be going for thaumaturgy and weird mysticism lunar charms, but i wanted to make a character who took a different approach to the theme than I've tried before.

I see.

At the moment, we have only one confirmed bonded pair in the party of D. Rex and Psychie. It is up to you guys if you will be bonded to one of the other Solars in the group.

I think I'd prefer to start unbonded. Maybe eventually have an NPC i could have a "destined enemy/friendemy" bond with to lean more into the Midgard Serpent theme. Two souls who always ends up on opposing sides somehow instead of star-crossed lovers and a history of previous lives ending up with mutual destruction.

Psychie Psychie Now that we have a No Moon and a Full Moon, that makes my decision easy. I'll be Changing Moon. Arctic Fox is a classic Northern trickster animal, so I'll go with that one.

Syvvaris Syvvaris My apologies. I didn't mean to pressure you into writing a novel. Winging it is just fine.

Come to think of it, if I just exalted I wouldn't have any tattoos. Maybe I should do the unthinkable and be Casteless? Worth thinking about, even if the mechanical penalties for being Casteless seem quite brutal.

Looking at the other character sheets so far, i think i'll take it upon myself to be the one with the Medicine charms. Always nice to have at least one.

HumanPlus HumanPlus I noticed a small issue with your Charms. The Perception Charm you have of Perceiving the Hidden World has a prerequisite of Cunning Beast-Warrior Reflexes, but I don't see that one in your current list. Other than that, I see no problems.

I don't mind you having the tattoos already; just so long as you don't have any artifacts or hearthstones yet. But the decision is up to you.

Background done. I will figure out intimacies sometime later tonight or early tomorrow. I'm always bad at deciding on those.
