Well, fun plans aside I think I've reached a point where I'd like to hear everyone's OOC opinions on this thing and what to do with it.

Some time ago, we talked about taking on the Vampire Kingdoms. That was something I could wrap my head around. This... Mechanoid mobile fortress? I'm not even certain what it is (are there any pictures?). A fortress on legs? Sounds cool, but realistically - what will we do with it?
Welp let's see...

1. Use it to traverse very hazardous terrain.

2. Use as a base of operations where we can replenish supplies, and keep our mecha, golems, weapons, vehicles, etc. Maintained and ammo filled.

2a. Gives us some fun gaming opportunities where we figure out how to get it and keep it supplied.

3. House our own mercenary company teams where we can send then out on missions to get us some cash.

4. Assault massive coalition bases.

5. Lots of weird shit in rifts. Never know when we may need to fight giant giants.

6. If we dont want to drive it. Maybe we can bury it in a mountain or underwater somewhere, master teleportation, and use it as our secret lair. Maybe have it float and it looks like a giant lilypad.

7. Strap tons of UV lights to it, and stroll through the vampire kingdom.

8. Make the top of it an aircraft runway.

9. Sell it and be rich beyond our wildest dreams.

10. Destroy it and sell the scrap to make us rich beyond our wildest dreams.

11. Dissect it and learn all its technological secrets then do 10.

12. Give it to Daisy. She'll happily take it off your hands.

13. Single handedly use it to stave off billions of zombies.

14. Became maurading warlords and take over everything one province at a time and form the new world in our image.

D., if I didn't know any better, I'd say you were in this... for the adventure! 8D

Even if we are horribly mangled, you wont get a sad face from me.

But yes.. you got me, I'm ashamed to admit. The loot. The xp. They mean nothing to me. It's the adventure. The journey. The theatrics and spectacle!

Please dont let this be an intervention. Because I WILL start crying and I really dont need my makeup running right now.

You're too cool, D. Rex! *hugs* =)
Thank you! I do try!

Now as for the topic at hand. I'm also pretty cool with some vampire shenanigans. The boom gun can be equipped with some anti vampire ammo too.

What would we be doing there and why would we go there? (Not that such a thing is hard to come up with. Just wondering for the sake of conversation)

At this point, I mostly see it as a mobile home base that we can bring into the deepest wilderness and still have a safe place. Given time, it can become more as well. I also see it as a mobile library abozut the mechanoids - but that's my personal use. Going to the vampires might mostly be a path away from the other forces - meeting the blooddrinkers might only be a happy coincidence while we try to avoid the coalition. Or we get a hint from the Atlanteans with us, they might be inclined to fight an evil force and know that the coalition is likely not involved there.

Given Daisy's origin within, and past with. The Coalition, there would be no qualms from her regarding such avoidance of their forces. (Though it will be fun to play on the background when we do go coalition busting)

Maybe that other dragon ran there and Braz wants us to finish it off. Or it was a side project of his.

But fleeing into the vampire lands to hide front he coalition isnt all that bad if an idea. Especially given they would likely have things that could actually threaten our new base. We could rush the base out to the vampire lands and hunker down 30 days of Night style. Gives us time to get familiar with the base. Figure out how it works, do some repairs as need be. Supplies if possible, just survive if not. With any other fun problems that arise from being there.

Maybe it will be hell and vampires will be coming at us non stop. But by that point, it's too late. Eternal darkness comes, and as luck would have it, our base breaks down and we are stuck there and have to just hold out. Trying to keep the lights on while making sure the base isnt breached and overrun. Maybe gotta send a team out to find some rare parts while others got to stay behind, adding some more urgency to the mix.

Sure. We got big guns on our side. But swarm tactics can make things hard (fun) for us.

Oh, Vampires? Would we need wooden weapons or do Rune ones generally suffice for fighting vampires? I have a feeling Sherwood Sherwood intends to raise the stakes here.

Oh, bad pun! I'm so proud of you!

On a more serious note, vampires in the Rifts world are an interesting mix of nasty and vulnerable. Running water hurts them, so something as simple as a child's squirt gun will burn them like acid. Some magic is ineffective vs. a vamp, but the best weapons to use against one is wood and silver. Rail guns can be equipped with wooden or silver rounds (for a moderate fee, of course), and rune weapons usually do full damage to a vampire.

That really was a terrific pun, Rykon Rykon =)

So... it appears that we would like to keep the Walking Fortress, probably modify it to fit our needs, and walk it on down to the Vampire Kingdoms?

Actually, where are we located presently on the map? Isn't there a region of the US taken over by dinosaurs? SE I think.

I think we are towards the north east. But dont quote me on that.

Dino's would be pretty cool. Especially if I get an excuse to go without the Glitterboy and be all squishy. Maybe get through one badlands to get to the other.

Would also be pretty boss to fight vampire dinosaurs, come to think of it.

Rykon, Florida is dino country. Rawwrrr! =)

As for where we are, I thought we were up past Maine near free Quebec's border? Sherwood?

That's not nice Dannigan. They preferred to be called senior citizens. And just because it's normal for them to retire there doesnt mean its polite.

Ok gang! A few things I want to check with everyone on, and a xp award is due.

First, the points. I'll give everyone . . . another 3,000 xp. If anyone levels up, you are free to roll your hit points, boost your skills, and make any new skill purchases if your OCC/RCC awards one for your new level.

Now, I need to ask, do you guys want to continue on with the plan to go south and do some vampire hunting, or should I pull something else out of my hat? Next, you are quite a distance away from Central America, so the question then comes up with how are you getting there? You have a few options. There is the tried and true overland route, where everyone piles into the Badger and drives there. Second overland option is to try and haul the Mechanoid fortress with you, but that has a few complications associated with it, as you will draw much attention from people that spot you as you go.

There is the option of using Rift teleporting to get there. That has the advantage of getting you there now, as opposed to spending upwards of a month or longer to drive/walk there. You can also try to bring the fortress along with you to use as a base to do some anti-vamp work. Or you can pass on that and just rely upon the Badger.

Then there is the possibility that you will pull out some bizarre idea to get there that I have not brought up.

I can also try to pop you somewhere else, if you want to dip your toes into another area of the world. I just would like some guidance to make sure that I don't do something that will put everyone off the game.

Vampire fighting is still good for me, but if we look to other places to go, we have a whole lot of options available. I mean, there are tons of World Books to look at, and that doesn't even count the fun of going to other worlds! I wouldn't mind doing something really off the wall. Anyone have any ideas on this?

Also, it looks like that I level up! Cool!

Lol I've spewed my ideas. Daisy wont really say much in the matter. Without Brazamal around to tell her what to do, I could either have her head back home, or just follow the group until the big guys pops back in to check on them. Needless to say, I'll be doing the latter.

And woohoo! I dont level up yet :D, never thought I'd be happy about that but it saves me from recalculating all my stuff.

Well, the simplest way to get you guys there to fight against the vamps is to have you try to Rift teleport the fortress, and you miss your destination and land in the Yucatan, right in the midst of the Vampire Kingdoms. Or, I can have you jump somewhere completely different. I just don't want to make things too far out for the group.

And to me. Gives me lots of fun things I can do to you guys.
