A NON-CANON RWBY ROLEPLAY | LOOKING FOR MEMBERS
WELCOME TO PROJECT: VYTAL!
This RP will be following two/three groups of first-year students, originating from all corners of Remnant, recently started attending the prestigious Vytal Academy, a huntsman academy founded 20 years ago under the collaboration of the four kingdoms. We will start off following the students as they progress through Vytal’s rigorous, action-packed curriculum as the world around them slowly but surely starts growing a bit more.. Grim (or should I say Grimm ahahaha so funny). If you’re interested in more information about the lore, please read through the premise below or refer to the Manual that is linked in the OOC.
Remnant, a world of great prosperity and gifts, but subsequently a realm pestered by the very incarnations of evil in the shape of horrible monsters. Not a year went by without the world being shaken up, testing humanity’s resilience again and again. Unfortunately, many of the wars and battles fought weren’t solely at the hands of the Grimm.
At one point in time, there were many banners proudly being swung around on every continent of Remnant. Some kingdoms and factions managed to live peacefully, but the majority of all alliances eventually came to an end for the same reasons; power, wealth, and fear. Far too many wars now shadow the past of Humans and Faunus, with only four major kingdoms now left to tell the stories.
For many years, the same formula kept repeating itself over and over, each time resulting in another battle, another mount of casualties and another conflict that would follow it up. Vacuo, Mistral, Vale and Atlas all had their own visions and ideas about the world, and none of them was bold enough to compromise with even the mere thought of accepting another’s view. Even though the kingdoms weren’t attacking one another left, right and centre, most people were just waiting for the fuse to spark that would set a bomb off yet again.
Roughly 25 years ago, however, the world was hit in a way that it hadn’t yet before. Out of nowhere, the Grimm had somehow grown smart enough to know exactly when and where to hit, taking lives beyond measure. Meanwhile, officials and huntsmen across the realms were dying in masses. Chaos ensued and soon people knew who to blame; Apocrypha.
A cult that had supposedly lingered in the shadows for long, Apocrypha was there to bring the world down on its knees, and they were doing a pretty good job so far. Unfortunately for them, their very actions would lead to something that hadn’t happened in years. The four kingdoms united at the hands of their common enemy and made great efforts to make sure the only thing that would be ‘ending’, was Apocrypha.
Although it took a year before Apocrypha’s grip on the world was finally gone, and the kingdoms could start rebuilding yet again. This time, however, all four major kingdoms were willing to work together.
It took some time to heal, but the world slowly but surely went back to its state and grew greater than ever before at the hands of collaboration. As a symbol of true peace and unity, the four kingdoms founded Vytal Academy to not only create the best huntsmen they would ever see but also to make sure the next generation would be one that understood the importance of the alliance.
Fast forward to now, twenty years later, and you are standing in front of Vytal Academy’s gates to become one of the realm’s future protectors. Although peace has been prevalent for years, don’t underestimate the importance of your presence. For darkness lingers yet again, and it won’t take long before it strikes. Soon, the alliance will truly be put to the test.

- Two paragraph post minimum (save for some specific situations like swift combat-related posts, dialogue etc.).
- One post per week requirement, although (if people are interested) I can put up a ‘side-thread’ consisting of more personalised scenarios for those who wish to RP a bit more.
- A swift start! The RP will start with the creation of teams somewhat akin to the starting of RWBY. This will allow room for characters to grow familiar with one another while subsequently offering a hopefully exciting start.
- Lots of lore and more than enough background information to make the RP feel organized! I’ve set up a manual containing 20+ pages on the world of Remnant as it is now, ranging from things like Dust and it’s usages to the Kingdoms and their most defining locations.
- An interactive plot. Not in the sense of “make it all up”, but more-so that the actions IC will steer the roleplay into a certain direction. I’ll also be using regular polls to see what people are most excited for in order to keep the roleplay fitting to current interests.
- Decent grammar and enough dedication to the RP to put effort into your posts!
- A basic understanding of RWBY’s universe.
- Communication! It’s okay if something is preventing you from posting, but please do stay in contact.
- Willingness to use discord for OOC. It makes life so much easier.
NOTE that posting a character sheet will not instantly guarantee you a spot in the roleplay! I will be accepting characters by the end of a set deadline. That way, everyone has a fair chance of getting in. I do, however, reserve the right to accept a character earlier if I think they fit perfectly into the RP.
