The Legend of Flowbane

In a World of Myth, before fates hand were put to page.
A lone Adventurer goes forth in the Lands of Gauge.
In the harsh frost where the cold winds don't fade.
Past the old marsh, where the forsaken Legions lay.
Our hero heads North to where few tracks are laid.
To seek a rare cure before Death seeks its pay.
Through an Ancient Waste, he reaches the River of Faces.
A most dangerous of places, where death leaves no traces.

Another tragic case, clueless as to why this foul river's famed.
An old living space, to a ruthless Killer Fish named Flowbane.
A huge Carp bigger than the Widow Sharks that haunt trade lanes.
For Pride this Man is brave, and a bold crossing must be made.
So a raft is quickly crafted, but a deaf silence soon is plain.
The slightest ripple, soon detected by an evil primitive brain.
Through the fog peaks the north bank, hope rising in his chest.
While below the fathoms rests, a slick kill… to be taken in one breath.

Suddenly caught in the center of a violent cascade.
From the deep, a sneak attack borne of instict is made.
The tiny craft capped, the mission now delayed.
He barely dodges the SNAP, meant to end this fools crusade.
Death on the Cusp, he grabs and stabs for the dorsal.
Hides too tough, he slips in the dip, now an easy morsal.
The water chilling, freezing the shock tightens the tendons.
Slaughter, a bite in the dark eaten by Carp, an ironic ending.

Our Hero submerged, he flows and goes down the gullet.
No time to play, blades displayed, like he thinks nothing of it.
But the rides twisting like a wild slide made of plastic.
A fast trip, then falls drip into a thick pool of acid.
In agony he splashes quick, to the Cavity walls.
With desperate slashes he climbs as his skin's falling off.
He tunnels blind through bone and flesh, using viens like ladders.
A break through, the air is fresh?, It's a huge swim bladder!

Anatomy simple, it runs along right below Flow's spinal.
Quick and nimble he heads towards the chest to cut something vital.
Old Bane heaves and crests from this new deadly arrival
The Warrior's in the skull now, lights out, fight for survival…

Sometime later…

Flowbane goes over Long Face Falls, with a big slash ahead.
Lifeless except for the miniscule Man still in it's head.
