Experiences Whats making you angry today? Rp pet peeves

Probably been touched on already but this really grinded my gears the other day.

So we were in the discussion process, talking about what the storyline should be, characters, etc. First few messages and they are saying they prefer male characters to have tattoos so maybe I should incorporate them into my character (??? as if tattoos are character traits but okay???). Then we are only 2-3 replies in, taking place in a school setting, they randomly drop my character into her lunch period, ending their post with something along the lines of "I didn't even notice you were looking at my notebook". So I am lowkey mad that they didn't ask me if my character even planned on being at lunch but then they also just controlled my character without asking.

So I hate confrontation and being rude so I just didn't reply right away, started intermittently working on a response (with full intentions on eventually replying... just not when I'm angry), but got busy with mental health issues. Literally logged on not too long ago to a PM from them saying that I lacked RP and human decency, that it's rude to keep people in the dark, and they were originally excited about this but they never should have been. Then left the conversation before I could reply to them.

HUH?! Lmao.
Woooowww that’s so rude! I’m sorry you had to deal with that, clearly they aren’t worth your time if they don’t understand one of the most basic rules of Rp (no god-modding).

No that isn’t an Original Character, it’s just a literal personification of the overpowered protagonist that you genderbent and made related to the antagonist even though the timeline would make that IMPOSSIBLE.

Oh, also, where the heck does one sentence start and the other end?! Cause I just can’t tell! Seriously, does it need a comma, a period, maybe a semicolon? Who knows!

Someone else complained about this exact, specific thing a while back. I wonder if it's about the same person?

Perhaps! It hasn’t been incredibly common in my experience on this site, but it has popped up. I definitely saw more of this type of thing off-site than on.
I normally don’t have any issues with people who have Oc’s with some relation to some character, but like... it’s at least gotta make sense.

That moment when you find a good fantasy RP to join in...

But someone makes this their character:

I'd like to revoke my sanity privileges.

There was a guy who'd make sci-fi characters for fantasy RPs all the time. And he'd never seem to figure out why it was a problem.

Aye, I think the best way to look at it logically is to think about the technology and knowledge required to produce a certain character/machine ~ compared to the rest of the group. If everyone else is using steel plate armour, longswords and bows as 'cutting edge equipment' (pun intended). How does that square up against something with 75mm of frontal plate armour and uses a nuclear reactor as it's power source? 😂

I dunno. I feel like someone making a character that's blatantly a different genre than the RP that they're for is just so far beyond logic that you really can't explain anything to them.

I know but I guess it's in our best interests to try and be the voice of reason. Who knows, maybe they'll be the ones to try and explain some logic to others someday! :P

Sounds like someone who tried apping this really edgy "Hulk-like" character that could bench six hundred pounds or whatever to a fantasy RP I was GMing. I never accepted it because the power level was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay off from the rest of the party. And that it was an arena character to begin with (as in PvP based RPs) being reused when I had no intention of having the players fight against each other.

Aye, i've never really understood the whole 'Macho-Strongman' appeal that always finds a way into every RP/theme/genre imaginable. Any chump can pile on muscle and claim it to be their sole defining trait. I'm currently reading a fantasy-Napoleonic trilogy called the Iron Elves (by Chris Evans) and I absolutely love that the vast majority of the characters are average sized... some are a little bit chunky and I find it far more enjoyable to read through the adventures of ordinary folk than cringe at what appears to be a Magic Mike ~ Medieval crossover. 😂

I hate cowards, so its natural I hate people who don't have the guts to communicate with you OOCly.

Y'know when your in an rp, and your rp desires to have something happen EVERY SINGLE Minute. I get it, you want action, adventure, cool, cool. But we're making a Story not a freaking ReMakE of BeetleBorGs!!
One minute we're chasing a goblin druid, the next we're fighting a dragon. Then ten minutes later, for some reason we're in Space. Goodness gracious my guy.

For me, right now... Is finding a roleplay partner that doesn't leave lol. At this point, I feel like Im a bad writer or radioactive or something because no one seems interested or they leave for some reason? All of them. Damn, I didn't know I sucked that bad. Might as well just delete my account at this point and quit roleplaying all together lol.

Oh thank the clangs that this actually exists. I've always needed a good vent after so many years with some people being absolutely brain dead. I've been so discombobulated that half of my brain is up my rear, and the other is hanging out my eye sockets. I need venting of this than anything else. The OP is a goddamned hero not ironically. Though it is today, but its treated as in general so here we go.

1: When someone writes at least 2 paragraphs a post, and they get a high position in a new RP after debuting elsewhere in the community, and from the get-go after their first post, they abandon it and kill the whole RP. Then when they are active, they avoid the RP if something they don't like happens. Then in another case, they read the RP every new post but never post. And then has the gall to admit "I don't like how others gradually up their technology and I don't want my elves' ass being kicked. :C". Says the same guy that mentally drained the GM to give them 60m tall super trees, god tier golem summons, armored airships, and an impenetrable Maginot line. Then has balls in the sequel to ask me to waste my resources building them shit for their uber wall. Lazy bastard shouldn't even of joined at all if you choose to be a punk ass bitch!

2: When you and two other people take responsibilities seriously, account for how the universe works, and applies logic or forms of realism to your own technology or magic, and the GM trusts previously mentioned hyper exploiter over the most competent, active, and responsibly qualified people in the entire RP. My friend got wooden airships, and his magic's range was 30 feet. He could only summon golems for a limited time, took like years to make one of them, and could only bash things. Previous stain of a milked brahmin got ones with higher numbers, can be summoned damn near immediately, airships with magically reinforced god plot armor, more weapons and higher range, biplanes and bombers that can withstand the tech cap's conventional weapons short of directly hitting it with 70 machine guns, and tried getting away with beyond cap and modern weapons. He even gets a shield ring for dozens of thousands of soldiers that can be exploited to keep their assets alive. All I wanted was a pair of flying boots with a guy with a conventional rifle, and I gotta fucking do some inflatable arm flailing tube man shenanigans just to turn, or do half a backflip to go around. By the time they get back up again they're already just a pair of 50 Km/h flying legs, or crash into no man's land.

3: When the community decides to branch out beyond post apocalyptic settings to magic and fantasy, and the GM neuters magic to be worthless later on in the first, and the second there's no way you can do anything unique or have trade because everything is known. Even if you made up magic for three months, how it works, all potentials, what is needed, and takes years to develop IC, some asshole in a month is allowed to steal your idea and bastardize it because the GM fucked themselves. Then tries deleting rooms, associated and not, in a rage when we all petition and display concerns over this all, and we are somehow the assholes. Which one truly is? The guy that slaves away for something they enjoy, get fucked, and voices concerns especially on things poorly explained, suggestions, and a whole server demands something be done before they kill their own RP by changes the foundations, or the guy that deletes all that work and ignored the community. You decide. It makes matters worse that some of us tried making a storyline and building the universe, and all of it outside of names are immediately wiped by a "sequel". In reality an alternative history and setting that voids everything prior, all because they wanted new players but couldnt wipe the abandoned states for whatever reason. Why even bother focusing on story anymore? Guess we will just go into this crater over here and drown in the bloody mud!

4: when some creep joins the RP, steals your tech, tries stealing one's magic, and develops what is supposed to be your invention for the world to slowly be learned and mimicked by the globe, while you worked on it for what felt like years and they get it on spawn and ruin all story events that could of transpired JUST around that piece of technology! Then making some odd neko war girls, and ooc acts pedoy. Begone filth! Face the fire of dozens of machine guns!

5: when two parties fight over chennai and there is like seven mods, got into a flame war and hell itself, and the only mod doing anything on chennai merely equates to sitting to suffering with their inbox spammed by these two, so I have to march in there. In a time span beyond one but under 4 days, I had a civil conversation with both and resolved the conflict IC and ooc. Hell and back. The fighting took over about a month overall ooc! I hate the incompetent! There is only one exception that can be spared from being called that, but I sure as hell didn't see anything IC nor OOC that'd support them having done anything but be bogged down in messages, like the bog of the western front!

6: When you write this elaborate story for characters and a RP, as I am a firm believer in politics, character development, military development, and combining all aspects of RP into a single post. I even spent some time looking how how battles worked in the time medieval period, and how knights fought so for strategic points in a war or conflict, I could have a detailed battle like it was a RTS game or character fight but with entire battalions. Then suddenly all the GM responsibilities and demands are thrown onto me to run, watch, accept NS/CSes, etc by myself. Thus, I couldn't even write for my creation and might as well of never bothered making it.

7: When you create events designed to let players make up their own adventure with it because you won't be able to post due to mostly site access and posting problems, and rather than carrying it on, they make one post and wait for you to continue it like all my constant complaints of problems don't even exist. Then when you don't make the post, everyone else calls you incompetent or to get a new computer when the problem wasn't even on my fucking side! Then they keep going on saying it is infact somehow my problem.

8: When you have a trusted friend that you know is a better mod choice than everyone else, and isnt biased to a creation yet especially, but they scream endlessly at you that you're letting an outsider and "someone with no idea what they are doing" in charge. I think I ended up putting someone else there and they fucked off again, so I was by myself. This is even worse if you study the military, history, and technology thoroughly as possible. I even used to own a variety of rifles I inherited before being forced to sell them for authenticity. However here it doesn't add to the RP, trying to develop yourself in all ways and the world, they just seek out times like this so they can complain that you're a biased meatbag, when they do constant suicide waves invading you and you mow them down effortlessly for it! Then even when you try helping them by saying exactly what your problems are and how to exploit with minimal losses, they still bunk it and blame you as some OP god. Not my fault your militarily and adaptively challenged like a early stereotypical WWI general. If you fight someone that knows more than you, even telling you strategies and tactics to defeat them, and refusing to do it or too stupid to adapt, of course you're going to get smited! Everything you need to know to bypass the whole event is in the post, and you won't even fucking read it! It's entirely "your own damn fault" as raz in VC4 would put it. Ain't even gotta be on par or beyond, just reading would give you ideas on how to get past it. But noooo, let's throw thousands to certain death with the exact same plan but higher numbers used over and over again. Corpses don't win battles! Makes me hate being even a backup mod.

9: When you want to go into a RP and avoid wars besides perhaps civil wars as possible, and inevitably get thrusted into one by someone else exploiting your people's hospitality like they just managed to ally the HRE or Byzantines in CK-2. Usually can't even make a story out of it or peacefully leave by signing treaties with the defender. All I can do is die or desert and fuck up national reputation. Then it is usually by the same guy from point 1 and leaves, so I'm dragged to fight a guy and we equally want out but can't because mods won't let us and the offender abandoned RP. Regardless of what happens, I'm fucking Belgium over here!

10: When some degen tries starting up a purely OOC party to try killing one power, and trying to drag me into it. Why the hell if I care if you want Albania or not? I'm just going to report in to the GM, so they can eradicate you for such a shameful display.

11: Players that make up assumptions of you and everyone else, then believe their at best "theory" with religious-level extremism. Even if proven wrong, or they never bother to actually check if the claim is true, they keep being annoying little snowflakes. They won't budge, too stubborn for their own good, and for whatever reason can't ever be made to seen reason. If they stay and aren't kicked out they obliterate player morale and get them to leave the RP. Can't even follow what your character or nation would do IC without being demonized like you're doing all this for no reason at all.

12: When another player treats you like intellectual rubbish and acting like they know more than you do. When they can't get randomized artillery strikes or a guy with sidearm to blow up a modern tank in one shot, so they scream OP. Or screaming "how u do dis ding ova dar!? ShoUlnT yOu be SlOW? HOw U do DaT iF U mEaNt To BE SlOw?!?" In a RP where battles are lazily summarized because the RP time progression varies from 3 months to an entire year. Or when you know a certain region or regions of the world well, try getting something like a farm there, or a ton of people there, or etc and they drive off players by incomprehensible ranting and acting like all of that is impossible or hasn't happened in reality before. I'm sick of things like this more than all else. You can treat me like worthless trash, but even KNOWING I'm better at this and you starting a fight over it trying to look smarter by dragging me down only makes us both look like imbeciles.

13: When a roleplayer demands you to do a summary when you write like 33 super paragraphs, rather than reading. Then starts bitching and asking questions like "How did you do this?!?!? How did you breakthrough?!?!?" >This guy trying to cover all of India, the middle east, all of Asia, the Balkans, and part of Oceania with like a suicidal military, bombing their own people and infrastructure, radiating entire of their own local countries, and fighting three foes with a range, logistics, tactics, and strategy superiority. 30 paragraph essay on specifically an attack and how I'm blowing all your planes out of the sky before reaching targets because your command is too stupid to strike the positions, and most of that dedicated to how I break through like a 5 mile concentrated line and expand to either side like a trident pincer maneuver, covered by superior artillery, missile, rocket, air, ground, and satellite units. Precisely striking at higher garrisoned positions to soften it up when units enter the enemy's firing range. >Didn't even fucking read it and killed the RP after the whole server kept telling him all the mistakes and how his people would by now be in revolt especially with the intense propaganda and battle statistics campaign constantly shown to them, and how their country is mindlessly throwing hundreds of millions of men, one time not even at least moderately trained, to their deaths without a care in the world. Ignores us, keeps acting like a Mary sue, and right as we go to just nuke the bastard because he's pulling a Japan, he kills the RP and begs. Then the whole war is mostly negated in lore 33 years later whenever I make a sequel, looks mostly the same and trying to act like he'd of won realistically with all that braindead crap. Love the bastard but I really wish our big RP was a different universe so they didn't have such a large guardian bond and emotion over logic response. I can't write a story if you're just gonna fucking negate it. About - over a billion dead for him, thinks we lost billions to do it, and will probably think they are perfectly fine next RP too. >_>. At most, we lost 51 million human troops and no homeland losses. His losses are mostly troops, and I'd be surprised if there is enough of a population to sustain or even live in some of his countries. He's.pretty much killed off an India's worth of his own if not more, and abandoned and mined out the rest! How would anyone be happy from that? They'll never find all those mines until some poor bastard steps on one!

14: People that dedicate their time to being a roleplayer, but is in any or all categories of
Being the type of person that screeches that RPing with nobody, self-national development, isn't roleplaying. False. Especially where I came from, most of us all understood the importance of foreign development and interaction, AKA player on player, as well as personal development, national - political development, and self storyline. Not only did we interact with others, we also spent time alone to world build and self develope. We even created characters like Franz Williams, a retired private first class and now full time carpenter, just so we could display what life was like in our countries. Or the same but with the military, but will be elaborated later. We cared for story beyond the superficial "Country A builds 10,000 cars, and 3,000 shall be exported. Meanwhile doodle mc doodler has achieved diplomacy with abawadawadadingdong in the far west." We didn't do that summary crap. We cared for story, we had the time for story, and we hyper detailed everything. We even made many characters for internal story. IE, I on RPN in at least one RP created like 15 characters for my nation and most were not military personnel until conscripted when invaded by aliens. I had many different stories internally, some tied to national development like creation of a tank rather than the rest, which were more so one page-offs showing aspects of society.

In the tank one, I made different conversations and problems such as lack of funding. We only got a good tank compared to the rest of our useless crap, like 5 - 12 pages later when the Emperor's daughter and friend of the lead engineer in question funded his project. Bet you don't see that shit anywhere else on here. I know I certainly haven't, and the entire concept seems foreign to most that I get involved with.

The other types are the people that again to be repeated, those that refuse to read, can't even write 5 lines bare minimum, the power hungry, the mod exploiters, power exploiters, power gamers, incompetent mods, and especially the degens that see you make a setting and ask if cannons are invented yet, then when said no and they can't make a cannon, without any permission, they immediately try inventing it once accepted in. We told you no twice, either wait when we say sure or don't bother doing it. You're not adding to the story or world, you're just trying to change the setting to something you prefer than what its made for. Don't like how it is? Don't bother joining it. I mean surely this is a simple concept right? They didn't seem to understand that though.

15: what I call pity mechanics. IE for one of them, let's say country, faction, guild, or player I has 30,000 men. We will be using the standard and summarized NB form for reference. Whatever II is has 7 billion and instant logistics. Player I invades player II. However, they get into a battle on open land. We will say both are the same caricature: summarist writers presumably. They might say something about the terrain, or moving a certain way, but generally both posts are alongside the lines of "The 31st regiment alongside the 5th knight battalion were sent in to intercept the vanguard". Usually masquerading as at least a 5 liner, but that sentence pretty much is all that is directly pertinent to the engagement.

Either the mods, how the system is made, or some other outside factor pities the 30,000 man invading state. Rather than on merit of either party, or one side messing themselves up, the smaller force guy either wins, or lose the engagement and most of their forces, but took 5,600,000 of the other guy with him. The.small state can carry on and rebuild, the other power that should of smited him with minimal casualty if at all in comparison is thoroughly ruined and left to the mercy of the wind like it was Germany. Player III, SuperChadTheWarMongerer1337 starts looking at this weakened larger power. We are expected to accept that as balanced. In reality, these are mechanics in comparably 1600s fashion to what the standard is. One like the one example above in of itself isn't a mechanic, it is designed as a placeholder until thorough rules of engagement are formed. Only problem is most that run one never get rid of it. Thus, it is a horror to all. To know at any point, you or someone else can just be blown away without effort, due in part to either laziness or inability for formulate a proper mechanic. Even without it, some mods entirely have no idea what they are doing, don't have a list or table of contents to look at for statistics of effective and maximum range, parts, effects, etc, or live and subject those to their own "perfect" ideals of how weaponry and tools work. Thus even if you do it all right, even if you have a plan created by the divine, even if you have IC prepared for this for years, some random 3 liner guy will probably end up railing you. Or favoritism and bias can sneak in. Sometimes if you intentionally try to lose, you will somehow end up winning. This pains me to an indescribable extent.

A person that has been in entire communities even with mere kids understood at least the bare minimum, could read and right posts equal or larger than mine, and committed storyline in all aspects like the category was universal. Yet, I find vast difficulty finding remotely anyone like this in the NBing section. The ones I know of are gone, transferred to other RP types, or the rare instances of being in one of my communities. Though one apparently left to boot camp/basic so its dwindled further. Those are the only types I can even remotely trust in a moderator position. Its generally a benefit more so if they also have experience with at least some of the technologies used. Maybe I should just be a character person. There tends to be more experienced people there, even though in a character focused environment I default to questioning my ability like performance anxiety to me. Feels like I have to do my best at all times, and stay interesting every post, or I feel like garbage. Ironically I can, and even outside roleplaying, even did write stories I never showed with what I think was neat OC designs. It just seems like a problem when another individual is involved. Maybe I should show them, granted if I ever find the memory drive with them.

16: Going into settings where someone says they want to be as authentic/realistic as possible, and then we get 76.2mm gun immune super tanks, infantry that can walk 800 miles in five minutes if someone talks smack about them, and bolt actions with the firing rate of 42 rounds a second, with 100,000 meter effective firing ranges... I'm sure the French would of loved one of those. And I'm quite fond of my gasoline covered paper on wheels that can fly ten miles when going 300 Km/h off a hill. Fun but irky.

17: People that try tricking you to help "test out" a character to "get into the groove of things", and in reality it is some form of flirting or graphic romance scene. If I didn't have this mask stuck to my face at the time, I'm sure the Germans would be trying to figure out why I keep running and screaming on the field and trying to cram my face down into the mud in no man's land. I've seen things described that I didn't even know you can even describe. All in one massive wall without warning. If you can hear me, please mortar some super gas my way. I'd be okay stuffing my face into it and being blind temporarily if I'm not lucky. No one should have to see the things I've seen.

18: Players that choose to do an action, and freak out and rant about the predictable result. If you try to assassinate a president's son, don't cry when the same or a direct invasion happens to you if you get caught. Merely ranting makes it more deserving for you.

19: When you spent years building up a universe that dies, so you make an adaption on here, and some jackwagon that you hired just for help on mechanics not only tries taking it over, altering key technologies and the new magic addition to be gone or moved later on, getting rid of people's work, but proclaims there is no head GM as if this creation is just a random group project by us all, or they were made entitled to dictate all aspects of it. I even got into a fight with someone I know over a terrain map, where because my help said it was a mountain despite being the same color as the water and being larger than all territory next to it, apparently me, the map maker, was wrong about what terrain was where. It makes matters worse when, despite it being obvious and at times made directly clear, a certain mod abandoned again because he thought they were the best mod we ever had despite the person he agreed to abandon with didn't like any of us and damn near appeared to be in mental breakdown. Presumably by being around idiots worse than some of what a number of my guys got to deal with. I was too stressed and busy to focus entirely on it which is why I needed mechanic help in the first place. On my own again, I redid the map, all the mechanics, and more of my whole damn RP. Something I cared for with another community and after losing them only had that to remember them by. We didn't even really get the RP started before it died. The players were driven off, some got tired of the wait, and others didn't like the universal rule of "No one can get killed/injured/fucked before page III" and they left. Since their friends had CSes tied to them or at least eachother and presumably didn't want to alter it, they dropped out. I got depressed and refused to RP anything for quite some time. I'm not even sure if I want to put up a direct adaption without the magic and putting the premade states on it here, its one thing if any idea similarly I made gets dashed, its another if It is a project where a small team worked on it and one kicked the damn bucket. I'm not going through that again, and having some entitled pricklord fucking it up! There's only two others fully designed by me that'd make an equal result. Unless I spent the time doing everything perfectly myself, over-engineering it to prevent failure, I'm not risking that shit.

20: Players that see other players choose a spot for valid criteria, such as resources, or doing certain tactics that would logically work, such as transporting military hardware by train to where they needed to be. Or under the flag of another state so the enemy won't shoot at it when it is already past the border at the moment of war declaration, deploying forces to hold key points and regroup over time, and then some guy without viewing the context or understanding it memes it in a demonizing way. I also greatly detest/despise people that ignore mental issues, and what might be a joke on someone else is offensive on them. This has happened to a friend of mine, and because of some dickhead deleting rooms, uncertain as to how many times. Only one I know of survives deep somewhere on one of my servers. It has also happened to me. Nobody questions, merely assumes and self-"factualizes" it. When ironically, some of the perpetrators were literally self projection upon others. Not a big deal to me, but misinformation tends to spread in a way that even if you prove it isn't what they believe, in one case, they will mindlessly retain their personal belief. THAT is when it irks me. Simply being nice and civilized doesn't work anymore. I have thus adopted a more stereotypical German model for interactions: Aggressive, efficient, and mobile. [In terms of pointing out flaws or points especially in another's argument, and detailing it out before moving on to the next or attempting to predict their "rebuttal".] Though if necessary, force shall be utilized. These and some other people have "proven" to me that change will not happen unless enforced under authoritarian rule, or non-yelling written aggression with or without punishment thereafter. Kindness is only for the worthy and civilized now. Be a degen rule breaking prickoid? Be treated like some colonies and "in the way" tribes by the British Empire. Otherwise it just feels like fighting the 100 years war again.

21: When someone is too deep in the story and does some stupid shit, so rather than IC moderation action, IE the offending character or national leader gets assassinated, killed by their own discovery, goes missing, it ending up being a did, etc, the "smartest" thing a mod does results in disruption or complete destruction of the entire story up to that point. IE, when a good player is chosen or does something significant, so others are overshadowed until they make their own discovery. Or better an example!: The battle of Jutland happens and the problem of plunging fire is discovered, and on the ground Germany in this setting invents tanks first. However, Germany power games the Russian Empire to try conquering or at least temporarily occupying them for many years, so rather than making the problem be resolved by killing some commanders, super weather and freak storms, or something else, this dumbass outright deletes Germany and makes most of the setting pointless. At the most but still extreme, the offensive should be retconned. I prefer if these OOC actions take place on more deserving grounds, such as godmodding everything, driving off players, when bad CSes or bad players in general try getting in, gang parties IE three friends make three States just to try ruling the world, if IC damage is to a higher degree, etc. The more annoying and less immediate damaging events IC should be quickly and swifty handled by IC methodology. This alone can still punish a punk as well as being a great story event. You want as much bang for your buck [story] in a RP as you can get! Dysfunctions and intentional damage to progression, flow, and story should be a crime unless absolutely necessary. It can kill an entire RP.

22: When you always write Creation sheets, character sheets, Nation sheets, whatever else name in documents or on the poster like this, and some douchebag gets pissy at the time it takes you. Well sir, I am not sorry that I prefer to post sheets only when fully created. Until that stage there is no guarantee of what is even going to be on there making a WIP useless for me. I'd keep editing and removing things. You can learn to tolerate/accept my pace or leave. I don't even nag, bitch, and whine when I see you doing all the stupid shit you used to do. But hey, my posts of super walls the size of full books and my CSes equal, let's be a badass jock on me. Posting 10 lines on a rare day, step back in line cadet. Heh.

23: When I usually read thoroughly and intentionally slowly through everyone's post including those responding to me, and someone freaking out over an action they don't like and acting like I never read their posts. Trust me, I wouldn't be as good if I skimmed your works at best.

24: When the site originally went down during updates and I was in the middle of an overview or a post. It was only a pain in the ass because I had nothing to copy and paste it all to originally.

25: When you get a random message asking if you want to form an alliance or some such. Especially if they refused to post earlier in the day because of being busy. If you have time to write out a complete message through locating my profile, or using some message composer, or speak to me on discord with paragraphs, your lazy ass damn well can spend a few minutes writing up a five liner. Absolutely annoying.

26: People assuming technology or anything else by itself can grant superiority. Jokes on you, even a crappy toaster put on two sets of treadmills can be useful against or equal to your god asset if you use them right and the crew is properly trained. Your mighty lone 3 story tall highly mobile nuclear Abrams ripoff isn't so indestructible when Gloriana Wiggledorf clogs the wheels with a club or a big stick. Knock knock dipshit, your doom's right outside that hatch armed with 10 pounds of doom and gloom. Submit to your pain and sadness or starve. Sure military/warfare is as critical as other essentials of NBing, but even a lobotomite would understand that one thing or its stats/specs doesn't mean anything by itself. Let's see how your non-AI tank functions with a green crew if any crew st all. Oh what? It can't move or engage? Why not train someone then?

27: When a RP tries adding as many features like blockades as possible, but tries being a super strict authoritarian mega simulator. Like Monty python reference: "But is the restrictions fun?" That's what RPing is mostly all about. Regardless of how sophisticated you make yours or not, no one is going to stay if you're also providing overly complex rulesets and redundancy. It makes the join process tedious and slow, and even if the RP is fun, nobody wants to live through 1984 just to experience it. Just like how some ARMA generic simulator RP servers are. Sure it can be great fun, but if someone wanted to perfectly simulate being in the military they'd just join the military. So fuck right off.

28: When someone fucks up and rather than accepting the loss and trying to recuperate or achieve victory regardless as possible, this jackwagon edits their post to remove the whole section or "fixes" it to be in a better position. Pathetic cowards. And nobody cares if you mean a scout but instead say the entire organization. Either relocate the excess forces after, or accept your loss. Even though the battle may win but no one is defending your homeland. Hell travel shouldn't even be instant even if the RP has a time progression system, this problem can be solved by a follow up post cancelling your logistically impossible super march. And I also despise people that fight a war and edit their post to get rid of joining. Just switch sides, remain neutral if you didn't make it to land to battle yet, or sign a treaty or surrender. You can't get screwed like you're so scared of if you haven't even gunned anyone down yet. Or if the damages are miniscule.

I don't really have any problems with RPs in more peaceful times. But most if not all problems can be directly sourced back to an over confident dunce, a super warmongerer, an incompetent mod or GM, or some toxic sonovabitch that trying to one up or be better than the other guy. A number of RPs I've been in with problems were usually by themselves quite fine. There might be some other problems I have, but they would be so tied to the listed already that it isn't worth an addendum. That vent was quite wonderful.

Also with extremists, remember kids: Once an extremist most likely always an extremist. Order them over the top into no man's land. Smite them if they try running back to the safety of our trenchline, or they'll force you up there.

All's quiet on the Martian front.

Oh the horror. My post is riddled with more holes, some grammar mistakes, and run on sentences by sleep deprivation than Swiss cheese! Meh, whatever.

So as someone who is currently dealing with an incredibly stressful situation IRL it probably has nothing to do with you personally. My IRL issues are leaving me stressed, anxious, and swinging from near tears to furious ranting.

None of which puts me in the right frame of mind to roleplay. Now I’m comfortable enough being open about my life to say pretty much all that to my partners directly but not everyone is that open.

Some people are too anxious to share their problems and some people are just private and don’t like to talk about their business.

Either way I find that just assuming whatever it is has to do with my partners IRL blowing up and giving them the benefit of the doubt makes things easier all around.

You don’t feel as down on yourself and your partner feels like they have a friend during a stressful or uncertain time.

It’s honestly kind of nice to be in the middle of all this drama and get a message from my partners asking if I’m okay or telling me to take my time with my mental health.

Now granted that is because I tell them what is happening but even when I didn’t have the confidence to be as open it was still a nice feeling.

Hit me up sometime :3

You know, I thought that initially but I figured that someone who was dealing with so many in real life issues wouldn't be thinking about logging on to some rp site. I know I wouldn't, I've dealt with shitty, stressful situations and the last thing on my mind is this site. No, I'm talking about the folks that are obviously online on a continuous basis, and you know, using the site. That is a clear sign that I am not interesting to them and they decide to go full on danny phantom on me. Okay, I guess. It happens. But... damn it's happened 5 times to me in the last month, so I'm starting to think I'm the problem. One thing that really shits on my buttered toast is the people that say they're interested, pm you, shoot some messages back and forth then I never see them again. Before the roleplay begins. They've never seen my roleplay style before to realize that it ain't for them, they just ghost before it's even had a chance to begin. What's up with that?
Oh, and my posts. I feel like an aging prostitute. Everyone looks, but I have no clients, if you catch my drift. That is further pushing my belief that I'm the problem. Maybe it means I'm a shitty writer, or roleplayer, whatever.
