St. Jacob kept his cross on hand as the tension rose in the room. He would need a focusing tool if things got out of hand. The living saint scoffed at the child using her family name as if it meant anything to him. Nonetheless his actions were never just his own. He heard the whispers of angels in his ears. ‘Our Lord brought you here not to divide Saint, but to cooperate. Remember, that our Lord’s compassion is unyielding. ‘ St Jacob’s eyes focused back on Amelia. “ Miss Quiton you seem to have misunderstood me... Tell me, what do you see when you look at this group? I see a bunch of children, marred by their own circumstances to be sure, but each deserving of the respect of a child of Shaddai. I also see a team that wouldn’t last a single battle. If this is how they react interesting relative safety how can I trust them with my life on the battlefield!” The Saint jumped out of his seat. “ I’ve buried far too many soliders to play nice with a bunch of amateurs! I’d rather have you hate me for the rest of your lives than bury you.” Divine power was rolling off the Saint in response to his frustration. He had been given his worst nightmare. A bunch of lone wolves and he would have to play the part of the Shepard if they had any hope of survival.

Location: Team Ezec living quarters

Currently: Feeling insecure

Mel was surprised when the girl he was rooming with, Rachel, asked if he was all right. He wasn't used to such concern from people. He then watched, amazed, as she apparently created a spear out of wine, worried about what she was going to do to Leo before she simply put it back in the bottle. The crow deity reasoned that they shouldn't antagonize each other and then a yeti crashed into the room. Me'ls eyes went wide as dinner plates as he conversed with the others. He had a feeling that working for Infernal Intervention was, eventually, going to make it so he was no longer surprised at anything.

The others made bets and challenged each other to a drinking contest, which worried Mel (considering they were about to start training) before the genie revealed that she could magically wipe all traces of alcohol from their system, which he thought was really cool. Then the Saint decided to suddenly unleash a wave of power across the entire room and, before he even knew what was happening, Rachel had thrown herself on top of him. He felt the oppressive heat on his skin but, before it got to the point of actually burning, it dissipated.

Mel straightened back up and watched in amazement as Rachel yelled at the Saint for him, Aziza became so upset that she left the room, and Amelia declared to Jacob that he was under her protection. He blinked back a few grateful tears as Jacob explained the reasoning behind his actions.

"I'm all right," he reassured Rachel timidly. "Thank you for protecting me- no one's ever done anything like that before."

"And thank you as well," he said to Amelia, before turning to Jacob.

"I understand what you're saying and your feeling that you need to make your point in such a dramatic manner but, considering the composition of this team, maybe you should consider doing things differently than the way you normally do. After all, I can't protect you if you kill or incapacitate me..."

He cleared his throat nervously.

"Anyway, I'm Mel. I'm part-demon, as you can see. And I'm... strong, I guess?" he blushed a little, feeling like his power was underwhelming compared to the others'. He didn't want to reveal his true power, however, as that would mean everyone would know who his father was. Not to mention the fact that Belial could track him down if he used it.

"I hope we'll be able to work together," he added lamely, worried that they would think him useless.

Crowfather shudders as the oppressive weight of Shaddai's power leaves leaves him. He fixes the yawning darkness of his hood on St. Jacob, and is about to chide him when the half-demon speaks for him - and much more amicably than the crow-god had planned to. "The boy is right, Saint. Causing undue distress does next to nothing aside from, as you said, bring animosity. Animosity does not, despite your thoughts on the matter, increase team effectiveness. Now, excuse me."

He turns on his heel, walking back towards his room, claws tapping quietly. He taps one talon on the door, then cracks it open. "Are you in here, Aziza?" He asks. "Are you alright?"

Aziza looks up at him, her eyes glowing gold in the darkness. “Yes… and no.” She says softly. She doesn’t know how to have that discussion with the others, but Crowfather knows full well why a religious man with binding magic has this effect on her. Especially with what the last one used her for.

She looks at the floor, hugging her knees. “Somehow I get the feeling that he doesn’t know… I hope he doesn’t.” She mutters. If he did that knowing her history, she doesn’t know if she’ll be able to work with him.

The female water bender continued on, challenging Leo to a match of some description. He presumed a fight and laughed at her call of being too powerful for him. "If you had touched me with that little needle of yours you'd have seen for yourself, but no matter...we'll all have a chance to show off soon enough." He gave her a playful wink and a smile.

Suddenly a bright light filled the room, the old man showing off his power. Immediately after Leo didn't think much of it but he watched as Aziza left sharpish, teleporting away. Then the woman who he was bantering with began to raise her voices in frustration at the man. Leo looked at the young demon hybrid who had visibly been shaken by the display, probably saved any harm by the woman covering him. He looked shaken as he tried to diffuse the situation himself, but even then Leo still found it hard to feel any sympathy for the boy. His wounds were deep and in his mind healing them was only possible through the death of more of his kind.

The old man had tried to berate the group before the young demon hybrid spoke and that began to annoy Leo. He didn't know if it was an age thing or just his sainthood, but he refused to be spoken to like a child. "Listen here prick, I suggest you sit down and stop talking to everyone like children. I've met your kind before and you're as bad as his lot, no matter how you try to twist it." In that moment Leo gestured to the half demon with his thumb. "If this is going to work you really need to get off your high horse and stop thinking yourself better than the rest of us. I'm sure each person in this room is capable of taking you out if it called for it." Leo stepped forward towards the old man, lighting a cigarette in the process. "So...in the interest of reparations, forgiveness and starting over...how about you do the right thing and apologise to the boy?" This was no attempt to side with the half breed but rather it was Leo's frustration with the whole mess that the world was in coming to the front.

It was moments like these that St Jacob took a moment to thank Shaddai for his infinite wisdom and patience. Rather than falling for provocation and attacking him his fledgling teammates made the hard choice, and the correct choice and sought to correct him at the root of his problem: his mind set. St. Jacob had already made up his mind that this lot was a bunch ineffective and inexperienced corpses in the waiting. Yet here they all stood talking to a Saint about doing the right thing. It looked like there was a reason they were all picked for this team after all. Instead of treating them like soliders St Jacob of course knew they would only do their best work if they were accepted as they were and an honest dialogue was opened between the team. The Saint of Slaughter was never one for subtlety and made himself the target of the teams anger so that grievances could be aired safely and the whole team could walk into the battlefield at peace with one another.
St Jacob funneled the power he had been leaking into his cross and broke into a hearty laugh and he tucked it back under his habit.
You’re right of course Leo, I just didn’t expect you to be the one to call me out. Well done!” The Saint walked over to Mel and without a hint of his divine power escaping gave his half demon friend a well needed hug.
I’m sorry for my behavior Mel. I didn’t mean to hurt you, I will take these much needed words of criticism to heart.” St. Jacob released the boy and picked up the metal he had intended for the boy off the ground.
Just so long as everyone is willing to do the same that is. A team without trust and communication is dead in the water.”
Now is was time for St Jacob to mend the damage he had done with his words at Aziza. He had honestly expected a Djinn a thousand years his senior to have thicker skin but then trauma and fear know no boundaries. St. Jacob gently knocked on Aziza’s door and waited for either crow father or Aziza to invite him in.

She watched as the holy man took in what they had to say and laughed it off, like a simple mistake. It pissed her off royally, but she wouldn't undo the actions that brought the tension down. She felt it was absolute hypocrisy, walking in and demonstrating the 'gifts' given by his god, knowing that exactly his opposite was present, and saying he meant no harm. She forced herself to hold her tongue as the saint moved off from the common area. She breathed slowly, seeking control and balance. When she felt calmer, she turned to those still present. She wasn't going to mention her limited control over the emotions of others, not when she hadn't tested it since her incident.

She moved to the couch and sat with a straight back and palms on her knees. "I'm going to fully recenter myself, but feel free to continue. Just don't touch me during my meditation, if you please," she requested, closing her eyes. It was a simple thing to recenter emotions when one had practiced it for years as she had. Crowfather
Characters: Eliasdagood Eliasdagood St. Boethius St. Boethius
Location: IITF HQ, Crowfather & Aziza's dorm.

The bird deity meets the djinn's eyes with his empty-looking hood. After a moment's pause, he speaks. "Perhaps he does, perhaps he does not. Either way, you must move past your wounds. And, in the mean time, the Saint must learn to be more... considerate." He shakes his head. "I only hope that he will do so quickly."

A knock comes at the door, then. Crowfather lingers for a moment, before turning back and cracking it open an inch. He's greeted, not unexpectedly, by the elderly visage of St. Peter. "Hello," he greets, tone frosty. "May I assume you have come to make amends?"

Aziza sighs as she hears the knock, and gets up, suppressing her emotions expertly. It’s not him. This one has no control, and I am not his to command. She tells herself, going to stand slightly behind and to the left of Crowfather. She manages a thin smile, but for now waits for the priest’s next move.
St. Boethius St. Boethius Stikes Stikes

St. Jacob managed the gentlest smile he could when faced with the pagan god and his counterpart. “ You assume correctly Crowfather.” St. Jacob turned his attention to Aziza, “ What I said lacked more tact than I realized and for that I offer my humblest apology.” St. Jacob bowed his head deeply but owned the fact that he said what he did with a purpose. Though the effect was much more damaging than he thought possible.
“ I want to reassure you that it is your protection I seek not control...” The Saint wanted to say more but worried about the effect of poorly chosen words.
“ As strange as it may sound I see you as family. Those who fight together as we will forge a bond not unlike a family. I hope you will allow me the chance to show you I am not the man you fear.”
Eliasdagood Eliasdagood Stikes Stikes

Aziza sighs. “Thank you. I apologize for my reaction. I have an… unfortunate history with holy men, but I’ll do my best to be more mature about working with you.” She says, relaxing a bit. He can’t control her. She’s safe.

She smiles, offering her hand to him. “I’m sure we’ll figure this relationship out in no time.” He apologized. That’s already better than the other two.

Intervention Bureau Training Deck
The Director didn't say a word as he took a glance at what was going on. He just dragged his hand down his face in a display of anxiety and agitation. Sekhmet's face was a mask of unbreakable stoicness, while her catlike eyes were fiercely glowing amber. Sandalphon stood expressionless and unreadable, but his stance was now cross-armed and defensive. Apollo, however, had a bemused look on his face yet was hunched over in physical distress and Freya, while surprised at the turn of events, had gone back to her humored demeanor.

The five members of the council were looking at what was less a screen and more a scrying portal, conjured by a diviner and powered by seer runes throughout the entire complex. This one, however, was channeling the rune scratched into a corner of Team Ezec's common room, near the corner with the fridge and the pinball machine. They had cut in roughly three minutes prior, when they were showing off their individual talents and just before the yeti burst through the door. Johan's comment of having Freya on speed dial made the goddess herself have to stifle a strong enough laugh to bring tears to her eyes. That laugh, and all chatter, subsided when things went to Hell fast with St. Jacob bringing down a wave of pure holy power that made Sekhmet bristle and cast a wave on the converged board members. Sandalphon shook his head, the Director goggled his eyes, Freya blinked the tears out of her eyes and took a few seconds to take in what was happening, and Apollo winced and hunched a bit, rubbing the shoulder his mechanical arm was attached to. What they saw next was a spat between St. Jacob and several other team members. Sekhmet part grinned and part bared her teeth, and said, "I think I've proven my point on how well your Saint would work with a team, Archangel."

Sandalphon said, "There are years of devout followings and tempered hostilities that he must break, as our pantheon has. I never assumed it would be an easy transition, goddess."

The Director rubbed his temples, "The Saint has a point. That's what our training mission is for. I'm surprised Divan didn't bring up the nature of their initiation ceremony."

Apollo, having straightened himself back up, said, "All things considered, it's going better than Team Eiz's first meeting. Didn't that fairy try to charm the rest of the team through their snack machine or something?"

The Director nodded. "No team hit the ground running. It's just hard remembering what the first steps are like when we haven't had a completely inexperienced team in forty years."

Apollo looked to the Director with an eyebrow raised, and asked with a tinge of hesitation, "Oh, yes, that does beg the question. Why did the Chairman decide on a new team after all this time, anyways? The Board didn't get much of a chance to vote on the issue as I recall..."

The Director sighed. "Who ever really knows with him? Some cryptic words of a danger that threatens to crack the very fabric of reality and disrupt the balance, so on and so forth. Of course, that's always been the case since our Discovery."

Sekhmet had stared at St. Jacob hugging the demon, and her snarl subsided into more of a resigned grimace. "It has been a while. Maybe I'm used to the older teams' more professional methods. I'll refrain from tearing into your paladin for now, angel, as long as you can tell me he won't make me regret it."

Sandalphon looked to her and said, without his body language changing in the slightest and with his voice a modulated, flat tone, "The angels speaking to him will do what they can, but humans are a free and proud bunch. Much like imminent danger, that too has always been the case." Sandalphon smiled very slightly as he motioned to the Director, paused for a few seconds, and then said, "Perhaps... I can bring in another. An exemplar from one of the other teams to mediate and guide them through their first few missions, for whatever relief it would bring. If the Director approves, of course."

Sekhmet nodded. "That would relieve me at the very least. Director?"

The Director nodded. "I see no problem with that request. Did you have someone in mind, Sandalphon?"

Sandalphon turned to the Director and said, again without much body movement. "Yes. There is another from the Heavenly Host I would like to suggest."

Sekhmet rolled her eyes and the Director simply said, "Ah. Him." Sandalphon nodded.

Freya thumbed through the script the Director had given her, and blinked. "Director, I have some questions on this."

The Director turned to look at her. "Yes?"

Freya turned the script around and began pointing out phrases. "'For too long me and my associates have been bound to your will, and now we shall be set free'? 'For your injustice with my father, I will have my payment in blood'? 'Prepare to die'? I don't know about you, but I don't think I could take missions seriously if my first example of a perpetrator is a haughty windbag bellowing to the heavens like an evil twin in a soap opera."

Apollo interjected, "It was my coronation he infiltrated, if you recall, and yes, those quotes are verbatim. Deimos always was a 'haughty windbag', as you so eloquently put it."

Freya scoffed. "And your guests took him seriously?"

Apollo shook his head. "Him? No. Him with his power to induce cowardice? I don't recall having much of a choice in the matter."

Freya shook her head. "Pallas. Can I throw out the script, toss these scrolls aside and just face them with my own skill? They'll need to get used to fighting true gods, not interns with a script and some spell scrolls."

The Director took a moment, then nodded. "Yes. Provided you give them the chance to make it through the previous obstacles without interference, I see no problem with that."

Freya pulled out the batons that she was given in place of her normal weaponry, tested their weight and balance in her hands, then smirked. "Then no problems will I raise! I'll be waiting in the chamber for them. Hopefully those ten minutes will be up shortly."

The Director took a look at his watch. "Actually- it's been ten minutes already." He squinted at the screen. "That's strange. I think we're missing a couple." He let the diviners unmake the scrying window before handing them two dossiers. "They might be lost in the greater complex or may have found themselves in the actual commons area. Search the other rooms and hallways, let me know if you find them. Immediately." He paused for a second then interjected, "Bring me Agent Salah as well." Freya once again snapped away to her designated final testing room, while Pallas pointed to the people operating computers all around the chamber. The area they were operating in was covered with green walls and every object, metallic, plastic, wooden, or otherwise, was green as well, carefully arranged to match the layout of the convention center Deimos had taken hostage. With just a signal, the area would become a complete replica of the center on that night, complete with illusory adversaries and obstacles. Their test would begin. Now he just had to call them in.

Smoke filled the harbinger's lungs, a nasty habit he had picked up from his first few missions with an old friend. Luckily for him, the flame burning inside his chest eradicated most petty human ailments. He sat at his desk, flipping through various files, dossiers of the team he would now be accompanying. The papers rustled in his hand as he skimmed each member's profile, waiting on the director's beck and call. 'What the hell have you gotten me into, Sandy? ' His thoughts fell to his mentor's words, urging him that this assignment would be the next step in his advancement towards his eventual goals, should he be called upon.

Soon enough the time came, the figment of one of the bureau's diviners shimmering into the room in conjunction with the overhead speaker announcement.
"Special Agent, your presence is required". A small smile crept across Asher's face as the figment dissipated, ashing the cigarette and batting away the residual smoke. 'Well then, let's get started' He thought as he dropped the short stack of papers on his desk, marching out of the room and into the bland corridor.

Asher brushed the back of his head as his heavy boots marked his presence in the initiation chamber.
"Director Pallas, Asher Salah, special agent reporting for duty." A coarse palm reached out to greet the god as they waited for the other initiates. The harbinger quickly made his way to the side of his mentor who stood as still as ever beside the director. He stood shoulder-width apart, arms behind his back. "Freya... Sekhmet." Asher stated simply in greeting to the two other board members, regarding the latter with a sort of benign tolerance. Interest began to flood his mind, he didn't remember this many Board-members being present at his first initiation. Why all the pomp and circumstance? Perhaps it had something to do with the unusual line-up of this team. No matter, the olive-toned agent would still try all the same to fulfill his duty.

Divan Naude
Dorm Three / Common Room
♤♡♤♡♤♡♤♡♤♡♤♡♤♡♤

Divan ignored the commotion outside, grabbing the crumpled pack and snagging two white-banded lifesavers from it with a little bit of hesitation. Divan tossed the pack to the side and dug in his jeans for his lighter, gripping it and lighting both cigarettes before pushing both to his lips.

There are much more important matters at hand, Divan figured. He'd heard the orders loud and clear, but there was no reaction from him as the amber sticks burned halfway down their holy leaves. Divan took both from his chrome-stylized maw and dug in his bag for a small ceramic ashtray, he reflexively tapped the both of them to it while a small headrush entered his mind.

Divan snuffed the two out, both getting harrowingly close to their recessed filters, and sat the ashtray onto his dresser. The Silvertongue looked back at his bed and snatched the pack off of it, sliding it into his pocket before plucking his toiletry bag from the bed and placing it under his arm.

Divan walked out of the room and looked at the other team members, illiciting a grin from himself as he noted another new members. He followed Rachel from the room with a:
"Lets get this over with, guys.".

Divan continued to the initiation area, amazed by the mallspace around him, but not stopping to sight-see.

MENTIONED
Basically everybody in the common room.

St Jacob smiled at Aziza, “ There’s no need to apologize Aziza. I’ve no doubt given time we will all be as close as family.” Just as he spoke the announcement could be heard and some of the team was already heading out.
“ Let’s meet up in the initiation room. I’ve got to grab a few things before I head out.” With that St Jacob left Crowfather and Aziza and retreated back into his room. He didn’t know what the initiation was going to be, but he wasn’t about to be caught unprepared. The metals he gave everyone would work for protection, though he needed to return Mels in a pouch he could keep on him, St Jacob grabbed a rosary from his effects and wrapped it around his hand. He could use it for 5 low tier spells, one for each decade, 2 medium tier, or one high tier. After the limits were passed it would be purified back to nothingness. His casting focus covered he a pouch of blessed chalk. For anything mid tier and above he needed to prep a magic array to channel Shaddai’s power through. If he didn’t his body wouldn’t be able to withstand the power and be purified along with his target. With all his necessary components for anything he could think of he headed out the door and off the meet the others. As he passed by Mel he made sure to hand off the protection medal in a small pouch so Mel could keep it on him without injuring himself.

Finally, Razzo thought as his new team was summoned for initiation. He wasn't excited per se, but the tension in the common room was opressive and he was trying his damnedest to not get involved in the blossoming hostilities. One could only pretend to be trying to fix the TV for so long before people start asking about whether you support the death penalty or... whatever they were talking about. But it was either this or go to prison.

Razzo was next out the door, but not before grazing his horns on the doorframe. "Ow! Dammit, that hurts," he growled. He was seeing stars again, just five minutes after getting launched ten feet by a live wire. Once the amorphous purple shapes cleared from his vision, Razzo could see that the team's living quarters opened up into what looked like a massive indoor mall. Working in a pocket dimension would probably get stifling after a while, so he expected that there would be some on-site entertainment, but nothing like this. There were stores selling everything from fudge to ammunition to voodoo dolls. He even thought he spotted members of the other teams having conversations at the tables. "Talk about work perks," Razzo said, to no one in particular.

Aziza nods to the priest, glad they’re on the same page. She strolls out after Razzo, wondering what test they’ll be put through. Her magic has a wide variety of uses, making her applicable in many situations.

She looks around, grinning. “Nice place.” She notes. She can’t create real people, but the setup is giving her ideas for her own little slice of reality.

'Mel' - 'Dozer' - 'The Tank'
Location: Mall
With: Rachel, Jacob, Aziza, Razzo
Currently: Excited and apprehensive
Carrying: A medal in a pouch

The crow deity left the room to look after Aziza and then Leo, to Mel's great surprise, told the Saint to apologize to him. Further surprising him, the Saint reacted by laughing out loud and agreeing with him, then walking over and actually hugging him. Mel flinched when the Saint's arms closed around him, expecting another burn, but found it was just a normal hug without any hint of supernatural power to it.

When the Saint apologized, Mel nodded and mumbled

" 'M all right..."

Jacob picked up the medal from off the floor and then followed Crowfather to Aziza's room. Amelia stated what her powers were and then requested that they leave her alone to meditate. Rachel still seemed upset about the whole thing.

When the announcement came about the initiation ceremony starting, she grabbed his hand and pulled him along. Mel blushed, still not used to being treated in such a friendly and casual manner by a human. They were followed by the silvertongue. The Saint caught up with them and handed him a small pouch with the medal inside it. It bothered Mel that the Saint was still trying to give it to him, despite what had happened, but he managed an uneasy 'thank you' all the same.

Aziza and the yeti were the next to join them, and they all stared at the gigantic space they had been summoned to- so different from the common room they'd just been in. Mel stood there, taking it all in, wondering if there was a candy store and worrying about what their initiation would entail.

Her meditation was going smoothly and her emotions were in check until she came to a realization. She had had a vision of possible future where Rachel hadn't guarded Mel. At first, she was giddy about it, even squirming on the couch slightly, and then a darker thought came to the forefront: what if this was only the result being around such different aether users at once? Nothing Amelia had tried in restoring her abilities to full had worked - from one end of the spectrum to the other. Would this even improve her situation? So many questions and not enough time to answer them. The announcement came, jolting her from her thoughts. She'd have time later for some contemplation.

Noticing that some of the team was already following the announcement's directions, Amelia stood and started to do the same. On the way out, she arched a brow as the new sights of the Intervention base caught her eyes as Razzo made his comment. Such a thing as 'work perks' hadn't ever occurred to the psion, so it was an intriguing concept. She assumed it had to do with proximity, since it would be a pain to go through the rift portals everytime one of them needed to do some shopping and restocking, though she had no real need for the latter.

Between the vendors and what she supposed was various Intervention agents, she enjoyed seeing the diversity. Humans of all kinds, demon kin, elementals of sorts, even fae and their kin - it was all just so different. She didn't stop walking to the designated area, however. She did slow for a moment, catching sight of what she supposed was a fae woman wearing clothing from another era and the longest silver hair she had seen. "I have got to learn her hair care routine..." Amelia muttered to herself as she resumed her pace. She smiled when she noted Mel had stopped dead in his tracks, struck by awe of their surroundings while still holding Rachel's hand. It was kind of cute, in its own way. While Razzo, Divan, Aziza and the saint had left a few moments before her, they too seemed to be overlooking the area. I'll head on then, she thought. There would be plenty of time to check out everything in detail later, after all.

She continued to follow the signs that led to where the Initiation ceremony would take place and when she seemed to be in the right area, she would wait for the others to arrive before heading in, but she didn't expect the wait to be long. She hummed pleasantly for a few moments while she sent her cousin a text updating him on what she was doing, if only to keep his worry-wort nature in check. She eyed her flasked briefly and decided it best to wait on using the drug within for the time being.

Crowfather

Location: IITF HQ, Hub Area

As Aziza and St. Jacob leave, Crowfather takes a moment to make sure all the cages are in order, then discorporates. The swarm of two-dozen or so crows swiftly catches up to the group in a flutter of wings, that rapidly resolves into the deity's clicking footsteps. He doesn't pay much attention to his surroundings aside from a cursory glance; he doesn't expect to be using these amenities very frequently.

As the group walks, Crowfather asks, "What exactly do you all expect from this initiation? The Director calls it a ceremony, but I feel that there is more to it than that..." He isn't speaking just from conjecture. He's currently feeling a sensation almost like what a human would describe as the hairs on the back of their neck standing up.

While he and the others took the time to gape at the space they found themselves in, Amelia walked briskly past them, apparently unfazed, headed for the site of the initiation. Crowfather asked what they thought the initiation was and his tone and choice of words gave Mel a slight chill.

"What do you mean?" he asked nervously. "You think it'll be a test?"

Before the crow deity could answer him, however, Rachel tugged on his hand and asked if he wanted to get some food. At the mention of the word, Mel's tail twitched and his wings flapped excitedly a couple times.

"Are we allowed to? Do you think we can?"

He resumed his eager staring, wings flapping faster and faster, as he looked around at the stores.

"Do you think they have a candy store?" he asked, eyes glittering with anticipation.

I doubt they would show us all this and not expect us to at least get something quickly." she reasoned, looking at her immediate surroundings for a candy store. "I'm sure they do, but I think that would take a bit longer to find than we would be allowed." said Rachel, "How about that over there? The caramel apples over there? That sounds good." It seemed like everyone was passing them, but that was fine. Fashionably late, after all. Besides, they wouldn't have any caramel apples, and Mel and her would, so who would be the real winner?
