You don't really deserve me, but I'm back anyway. Between personal life having me in a proverbial whirlwind, and lack of practice over the last 4 years, my writing has regressed into what could only be likened to literary diarrhea. Instead of structuring sentences, I just convert thoughts to paper, as if on autopilot. This has to change, so I'm getting back on the saddle again.
Or is the saddle getting on me?
I'm currently preparing the rebooted version of my superhero universe for team development. Keep an eye out if you're interested in some good, long-term hero/villain RP. Sucks that it didn't get off the ground back in 2016, long before 'The Snap', but I still plan to do my Kronos invasion, lol.
If you haven't seen the latest episode of The 100, get it done, then come see this. :P
Some heavy-handed comparisons were drawn between Octavia and Aragorn (Lord of The Rings) last night in my opinion. I mean they couldn't have been anymore blunt about mimicking the Aragorn death scare scenes. It was homagey when she fell over that nasty cliff into the river below. Then the horse licks her hands, wakes her up, she crawls onto him, and he heads for home. So she'll likely arrive just in time to warn Skaikru, just as Aragorn arrived just in time to warn Rohan.
I'm curious as to who will end up hosting the "Flame". People wouldn't buy Clarke, she's done too much crappy stuff, she's just at a stage in her development where they'll thrust that level of responsibility on her yet, but Octavia is that wildcard. She's the bridge between Skaikru and Treekru. I can see it happening. She's the underdog.
So I'm creeping around the derelict husk of Netflix like some desperate, feverish rodent looking for some scrap of cinematic nourishment on my day off.
So I throw on Black Mirror in the background while I get my day started. Very early on there's some girl on camera begging for her life. I'm like random, forced and heavy-handed, but whatever. I go about some things and before the first episode is over, some guy is about to fuck a pig, on camera, streaming live to like some sports bar, a hospital... And I'm like wtf? So that didn't last 1 episode. You gotta work harder to earn my interest. I can live without whatever those writers are pushing, or are trying to accomplish with that low-brow edgy crap.
I've finally settled on an overall plot for my game. I don't really care about spoilers because i will take years to complete, and I want to share it with my RPN friends in case I can get any feedback or ideas.
The setting is a fantasy world inhabited by primitive cultures. It is young, vast, and abundant with resources, land, species, and special properties, species, locations, forces, etc. It's a marvelous, rich planet with abundant life and atmosphere.
Extraterrestrial beings discover this planet long ago in the era as described above. They invest a special interest in this planet for reasons yet to be fleshed out (most likely to find a new home because theirs has been destroyed, as in, they are us, symbolically speaking). They create 2 humanoid life forms for the purpose of integration, reproduction, and to one day rule over the planet (when the time was right) as a hybrid of alien-humanoid (a mix of various races from the planet like stock human flavors, elf, etc) and a representation of that unity. But they are not normal life forms. When they die, they are reincarnated again, and find themselves drawn to one another despite insurmountable odds in some cases. For life times this cycle continued and they always found each other and died happily together.
Two generations ago (about 140-160 years ago) something went horribly wrong. Our 'Eve' killed our 'Adam' who was an esteemed Elven nobleman in his lifetime. Never before had one of them been murdered, let alone by the other's hand. This upset the cycle, and no male partner has been born since. his was an issue for the Creators; an absolute Armageddon scenario. Desperate and unwilling to create another set from scratch, they tried to replicate the male and cloned a copy at the same time as the new female was reincarnated.
The male clone was Leeson. A main character in the game.
Leeson was a failure, and thus when the new female passed away fairly young due to a lack of a matching partner to seek out, the Creators had to try again and tweak another clone, our main character.
Xander (WIP) is the main protagonist, and the 2nd 'Adam' clone.
Now this is kinda hard to follow, but Leeson is drawn to Xander in the same way Adam is to Eve, and he finds a young, scared Xander in he middle of nowhere. Leeson is a member of Captain Blackheart's crew and like close friend of Rico Cortez, who adopts Xander as his own son, raising him.
Now something special will happen, because Xander will be uncontrollably drawn to Fera, the new Eve.
All the while is so much more going on, but that's the core plot and mythos right now.
The Walking Dead is broken for me. One of my best friends, like a bother to me recently moved across the country for work. We have watched it together since like Season 4. I've had the Mid Season Premiere episode since Monday and I still haven't watched it. Been sincerely meaning to, but I just don't. :(
