In one RP years ago I killed off an important NPC far too early in the story. Said NPC was always intended to die, but there's so much more I could have done with her before killing her :(

When I use actors I tend to use a lot of lesser known foreign ones myself. Only rarely will I use an A-list Hollywood actor, typically because I feel they're PERFECT for the character they're going to be portraying.

Honestly, I like things like shapeshifting simply due to how dynamic it can be. That can be so many different things depending on the nature of the story. Flashy elemental powers like pyromancy are cool too.
