    Basically what Ammy said. At least, that's what I'm hoping is the mentality of most people that hold that opinion. I have nothing ethically against it. However, almost every time I've seen two writers that go into a roleplay knowing they're both okay with writing erotic scenes, suddenly the entire thing seems to become a means to an end. The romance is rushed, characters become flat because otherwise they would have no chemistry, and any existing plot gets nowhere near as much attention as the erotic scenes do. At that point, it seems to me as though their characters are self-inserts being used for the sake of playing out their own sexual fantasies... repeatedly. Similar reasons to why people shit on fanfiction. Then it's kind of like watching a porn but then the star is standing there after the show available to talk to, which is uncomfortable because in most cultures, sex is considered a very private matter. It's entirely possible to do it tastefully where it actually contributes to the story, but for as long as I've been roleplaying, I've only seen it done once.

    If you're talking about light, risqué details, then that's not too bad.


    But very detailed back and forth RPing of a sex scene is pretty much just cybering and no body else involved ( I'm assuming you're talking about group RP) is really going to want to read it. So if you really need to do it, take it to some sort of off site private messaging. You can still say whatever happens between your characters is canonical.

    That's why I have mixed feelings about it. The characters are beautifully stretched out and detailed well in their own way, and the animation is phenomenal. That's all (imo) that it has going for it tbh. The plot is, well, anime.
