Shiki probably would have swooned and gushed over Ayred's brilliant but sorta obvious plan had he not had such a one track mind. "thanks Ayred, you seem like a good candidate for hall monitor already but rules are rules"
He let go of Magoo's hand to quickly group everyone together as they did not move fast enough for the impatient and Orc hating leader before grabbing Magoo and the group, apart from Ayred and Asht.
Asht wiped his eyes and blew his nose on the bottom of his shirt as instructed.
With only the two of them standing in the hall Asht asked the elf with a bit of a clearer voice then his distraught self before....
"What's a quartermaster?"
Juju Juju

Shiki and the apprentices,
in a blink of a turtlebears eye they were just off the main road leading to grimdar. The Bushes and trees of the forest provided decent cover but it was obvious to all who could see they were to late. Grimdar has fallen. What was farmland that spread for miles was now a muddy burnt war zone. Orcs chopping down trees and breaking down houses to build a fort and other structures, they were making there very own stronghold in karma...
The only original house still standing was the grimdar chiefs home. A two story house made of brick and wood. At least ten orcs stood guard outside it, the rest were either building,
getting shit to build with,
Eating or drinking (who knows what? best not to find out)
Fighting amongst themselves,
Torturing captured humans and beastkin tied to stakes dug into the ground.
Or sleeping...
And from the screams and squeals something unspeakable was happening around the ruins of grimdar.
But there seemed to be a patrol or three led by orcs riding wolves, meaning more wolves are being kept somewhere if they have riders...
Wolf.jpg

Shiki sat on the ground behind a tree drinking a full bottle of his mana juice and taking some deep breaths.
Once the bottle was finished Shiki dragged himself to his feet with the help of the tree...

“make no mistake. Your first test is just as dangerous as slaying a dragon, this orc scum is a infestation that all of aerth should be united in destroying. A single orc has the potential to raise a team, that team can raise a army that army took over blador and is moving into karma and restag quicker then any can imagine... Grimdar is the brutal truth, but like the legends of the first hunters... three can turn the tide of war-but I count many more."
Shikis voice lacked the casual warmth he usually exuded As he gave out the hunters trial.
“your trial is the following.
sabotage construction of the orcs fort,
rescue any hostages or captives in the territory of Grimdar,
Hunt and kill at least fifty orcs, each.
Hunt and kill one orc captain or leader. With a force this big there should be five at least I say...
I know you’ve experience but I’m going to say it anyway. Orcs are genetically stronger then most races, more durable, capable of gaining multiple types of mana and despite being dumb as shit they are cunning fighters. Be smart and prepared, the time limit for your trial is two days and two nights. I will also be doing my best to help around grimdar but my mana needs a few hours before I can teleport again... any captives you save direct them to the iron mountains, when the moon is in the middle of the sky I shall be back at this spot to share intel with you all. I would wish you a Good hunt, but I have the feeling we will need to MAKE this a good hunt”

Shiki took a breath after his little speech and lightly coughed, long distance teleportation with a group certainly drains a man.

If the apprentices would form teams or not? Look for prisoners or just go straight to hunting? All would be considered during this trial. Shiki had plans to observe them all as well as meet his own personal record of orcs killed in one night....

Vera would of been excited to be able to teleport, but all she could think about was getting to her home. When they teleported to the main road she immediately saw the ruins of her once happy little town. She watched as orcs tore down and hurt the place she called home. Her face become warm from rage. Part of her wanted to cry and breakdown, but what she wanted more than that was to kick these ocrs butts! They would regret touching the place she loved. However she wasn't going in without a game plan. She needed to be smart...better yet she could use some help.

"I know Grimdar like the back of my hand. Better yet I know a way to get into the chefs house without getting detected. I think a team of us can take over the chefs house while the others can rescue some of the captured civilians." She reached into her bag and pulled at her gloves. She slid them on aggressively. "We would be better in teams, but either way I will be going to the chefs house." She was trying to be logical, but she knew her parents could be inside and no one was going to change her mind. She needed to trust these people and hope that they would help her out.

At the mention of becoming Hall Monitor, Ayred's eyes lit up. She looked like she wanted to hoot with joy, but was holding it in due to the seriousness of the situation.

In the blink of an eye, the group vanished, leaving her with the boy. She looked down at him and laughed brightly at his question. "Ah, don't worry, I didn't know what a quartermaster was either until I got here! They are in charge of making sure the fort is stocked with food, supplies, and all that stuff Shiki is too busy to take care of." Ayred explained putting her hands on her hips, proud to teach someone her knowledge. "But you're going to love him! His name is Storm and he's the cutest beastkin ever!"

As she was fawning over Storm, Ayred's familiar reappeared. The ferret-like creature had the strap of her bag in its mouth, dragging it across the floor as it padded its way up to the elf. It dropped the bag at her feet and sat down, looking expectantly at Ayred. It didn't seem to mind the child, unlike the distrustful glances it gave to the other guild members.

"Ah, thanks Yiki." Ayred said, picking up the bag and fastening it around her shoulders. "Hmm... do you mind bringing Asht to Storm? I need to go find our resident werebear aaaand I think Storm is avoiding me right now. Heheh~" The creature dipped its head at Ayred's instructions and walked over to Asht, rearing on its back legs to sniff the boy's hand. It gave a melodious chirp like the ringing of a bell and scampered down the hallway, stopping midway to let the boy catch up.

Ayred gave Asht a wave. "See you Asht! Don't worry about your home, an army of orcs are nothing to the guild! Oh, and say hi to Storm for me!" After saying her goodbye she walked in the opposite direction to where Silvrian's room was. Most people didn't dare bother the grumpy woman for fear of literally being torn apart by claws, but her intimidating presence never seemed to bother the cheery elf.

"Now where is that bear... oh! Haha! Were -- bear!" Ayred burst out into laughter, earning strange glances from the guards as she made her way down the corridor. She wiped away tear as she knocked on the door to Silvrian's room. "Hey, Silvrian! Wake up sleepyhead, we got work to do!" she said, still giggling from her joke.

It was worse than he imagined. The village was in ruins already. Phorcis drew his bow immediately in case any orcs witnessed the guild’s arrival. Normally, he would rush ahead to scout routes, but he needed the outline of his goals, so he listened. Under the cover of his headband, he furrowed his brow. This will be more than the simple extermination gigs of the past; this is a war, but he wasn’t exactly daunted by the numbers. “So seven versus... I’d say four-hundred?” He smiled reassuringly. “I like those odds.”

Vera offered to share her knowledge of the village, prompting Phor to again glance between her and the ruins. “The village you remember wasn’t half-destroyed and crawling with these... vile, green-skinned, tusky shits,” he reminded her. “Of course, this is why we travel in teams. I’ll go with you, if you’d like... And I think some illusions would help.” He was dropping a clear hint, a sort of plea for help on this one.

~Silvrian Xolean~
Silvrian was never much of a morning person, she was always more grumpy in the mornings and despised people interrupting her sleep. Well she was always grumpy, but it was even worse during mornings. She enjoyed her sleep, she always had and nothing could change her annoyance when people woke her up. Like right now, when one of her guild mates or whatever they are called told her to get up.

She was not only mad that they had woken her up but was making an annoying sound while doing so, Silvrian assumed it was a laugh of sorts even though it sounded like an animal choking on it's own vomit. Either way she was unhappy about this situation and she hoped for the girls sake that the reason she woke her up was a good one, because if it was not she was going to beat her ass.

Grumbling she stumbled out of her bed running a hand through her hair to calm her locks as she did so. She glanced out the window seeing that it was no longer night it meant that the guild wanted her up. Grumbling curses to herself she slipped on her usual attire of skin tight clothing(she slept naked that's why she is changing), loose clothing ripped to shreds when she turned while tight ones turned with her, and made her way to the door. This only took a few moments of course as she wasn't a slow changer.

She opened the door and glared at the girl before her. She looked at her up and down for a moment before rolling her eyes and letting out an annoyed grunt, "What do you want pointy ears?" She snapped. Of course it had to be the one who was radiating energy like the sun, ir couldn't have been one of the others who didn't hurt the eyes to look at with how much happiness she radiated. She probably even volunteered to come to wake up Silvrian like the 'good person' she was.

She was one of the most annoying ones here and made her wonder why she even decided to try and join this guild. The place had a good reputation from its history, not that she even knew about that until she heard people talking about it, and she had no where else to go. She had been in a forest when she saw one of the people making the treks to this place. She was bored and was wondering why someone else was out here so she followed them.

She was surprised that they were allowed in so easily and decided maybe she should try. The free money and food sounded good to her, plus she got a roof over her head. All she had to do was pass some stupid test, so sure she'd try it out, if she failed she go find another one or just live in the woods again. She just hoped it wasn't going to be too much of a pain in the ass to do.

Magoo blinked as the lighting shifted violently. He had warped once or twice before in his life, but never at such a distance.
As Shiki explained their trial, he let the bit of mana he had charged flow into his staff. He felt the warmth spread into his arm and up to his head, which tingled slightly as the spirits within were pushed to the darkest corners and held fast.
Phor was suggesting a team up, which Magoo quickly determined was their best tactic. They first needed to get out of the open before the while damndable army was on them.

"I can cloak each of us with illusion long enough to reach Vera's secret entrance. Once inside the chief's house i can mask our presence while we dispose of the orcs iinside without alerting the guards. If we are fast and efficient we can operate from the house with the guards still out front acting as a warning and making our base seem to be still under orc control."

Magoo searched the parts of the village they could see, trying to ascertain what the orcs were building. It would be advantageous to attack their structures based on their apparent importance to these wretched creatures.

OOC: NeonFlow NeonFlow I defer to you on this as a perception check. NNext post feel free to play out what Magoo picks up on.

When there was no response from within the room Ayred lifted her fist upwards to knock again. However, before she could rap against the door it opened to reveal a rather disgruntled looking Silvrian. A smile spread across her face, unflinching even at the derogative term.

"Good morning~!" said the elf, as cheery as always. "Hey, don't look so grumpy, it'll make you go all wrinkly!" she waggled a finger playfully towards the werebear, apparently oblivious to how annoyed the other girl was growing. "Anyway, we've got our first assignment; it's a trial. If we complete it we'll rise to the rank of Hall Monitor and become official members of the guild! Isn't it exciting?"

The elf blinked, realizing she hadn't described the trial. "Oh, I almost forgot -- the trial is uh... there's an orcish army marching upon Karma. The others have already left to go fight them since you were late. It sounds pretty serious." At the mention of the orcs, the elf's brightness seemed to dim a little, but soon her smile was back. This time, it was determined and optimistic. "But we've got this! All of you are great fighters, that's why I came to get you! With all of us together there's nothing a puny orc army can do!"

Ayred balled her hands into fists and gave an excited hop. "So let's get out there and save the day! Let me know when you're ready and I'll teleport us there. It's going to be the location of Shiki, so it could be in the middle of battle, or on the outskirts. So be prepared. OH! And we'll be out for a couple of days, so make sure you're ready for that too!"

Dorm shook himself out after the warp. He'd been around Shiki long enough to be comfortable warping, but there was still a misplaced feeling as if your molecules themselves still thought they were in the previous location. He righted himself and drew one knife and one bolas. He wanted to start quietly. As he walked into the orc camp ready to work, he considered trying to team up with any other guildies, but he decided that he better get started, they could link up later. He heard that Vera was off to the Chefs house, wherever that was, but he figured if he needed to he could make his way toward whatever the orcs called 'food" and find her there. but he wanted to know if he could do it himself first. As he slinked into the compound, an orc made its way around the corner. Dormus crouched instinctively as if hiding from his prey in the wild. As the orc became fully visible, he launched the bolas at its legs and charged. The orc took notice and exclaimed, but it was nearly too late. In his blind rage, the orc barreled into the bolas, tripping over himself. Dorm adjusted and stopped short, and thrust his knife up. The orc couldn't fight the force of gravity and fell directly onto the knife as Dormus forced it upward. After it was said and done, Dormus quickly retrieved the bolas and went to exit before anyone in the vicinity came looking, but stopped for just a moment to pick up its blade. It was a full-length sword, and dorm figured it would help even the odds in a battle where he didn't have the element of surprise.

Shiki controlled his breathing in a steady manner as he actively tried to regenerate mana, not that he could of course. Mana naturally grew over time or with ingestion of certain ingredients with mana traces.
The mana juice helped like nothing else but it would still be a hour or more before Shiki was his usual jump scare self.

Magoo offered a fine suggestion, though in Shiki’s opinion... that house is where the Orcs are keeping potential breeding partners. It would already be to late for some. Killing a woman pregnant with a orc is a mercy, orc babies usually eat their way out of the mother.
If hostages are there to save great, but some are being openly whipped, cut and tied to stakes all across the territory of Grimdar.

The most obvious threat in Grimdar at the moment would be the archers towers built around the territory and the patrolling Orcs. Each tower had a archer or two keeping watch, though some more vigilant then others. The ones by themselves more careful then the ones able to socialise.
"wish there was a pink skin to shoot."
"i like to aim for the knees, man makes a great sound when you take out their legs.."

Each patrol seemed to average at nine orcs each.
Led by a orc riding a wolf, and eight orcs marching behind them. Four orcs being archers with bows or crossbows, the other four holding shields and halberds.
View attachment 605097
(Mostly built where the orcs plan to build walls, but these towers are also built around the area for archers to keep watch)

The Orcs are keeping away from the Forrests. All manner of wild creatures lay in wait behind thick vegetation. Wolves, spiders, Gorgons being the most dangerous in Shiki's opinion... A wild gorgon in season? Not only do they have some of the toughest skin, (with the only soft spots being under the belly and the eyes) but in mating season gorgons become territorial, and release much more potent clouds of poison.View attachment 605105

Shiki watched as the apprentices weighed options and began to make moves.
His plan was to search the Forrests and a bit beyond for orc scouts looking for runaways of grimdar until his mana was recharged. That’s when he would make his presence known in Grimdar... said presence will help and hinder the apprentices, but seeing as the original trial was fight a adult dragon one on one? A hinderance or two should only build character and prove who can adapt under pressure.

The orcs had already built a quarter of the main fort, enough towers stood tall and structurally safe (enough) that they were being ordered to focus on the fort. Roars and cries of wolves could be heard. Perhaps some cages are deeper within Grimdar. Some of those orcs are terrified by beasts.
-----------
Its the first arc so I won't be killing off anyone yet, (Shiki is your safety net in this regard) so play smart and avoid making video game mistakes aha if you feel I could do better describing a scene or location please alert me in the OOC and I shall try to clarify better.

Magoo focused his mana, picturing the illusions he wanted in his mind and waved his arms about in a flourish. Ripples of energy appeared where his hands passed, like heat waves radiating from a hot stone road.
He gestured to Phor, Vera, then himself, and as an afterthought sent a bit if illusion to mask Dorm, who was currently dashing off on his own. He would be harder to notice among the landscape until he left Magoo's range.
Himself and the others now appeared to be invisible, though one could see the faint shimmer of their form if one squinted just right.

"I can maintain this level of camouflage for about 15 minutes with this many people to cover. We should move while we have the chance."

Magoo turned and sprinted toward the chief's house, hugging the walls of any structures to bolster his camouflage. About 20 yards from the back of the house, a small group of 3 orcs were hauling dirt from several pits they were digging. Magoo grinned. This was his chance to cause a major distraction.

He climbed the ruins of a small shack and peered inside one of the pits. As he suspected they were filled with various pointed objects. These pits were going to be spike traps to protect the back of the chief's house from intruders.

As the orcs turned to haul more dirt to the edge of the forrest, Magoo increased his mana output a bit more and waved his hands in a different pattern.

Two of the pits shimmered and seemed to move several feet backwards, the ground reappearing over them. As the orcs trudged back to grab more dirt, one paused for a brief moment and looked confused, but quickly shook it off as another smacked him upside the head amd pointed at the pits.

Magoo chuckled as all 3 orcs stepped toward the fake pit and cried out in shock as they each plunged into the real pit Magoo had hidden. He released the illusions hiding the pits and glanved in to ensure the orcs were thoroughly impaled.

He dropped back to the ground and shot up a single illusory red bird to signal the others it was clear to move to the house.

Others seemed to advance already, much to Phorcis’ surprise. While Magoo cast his spells, Phor prepared to make a crippling strike against the orcs. There were several large silverback spiders in this region, so he swapped his bow for his sword and impaled one on the blade, then hurried down towards the village, keeping within Magoo’s illusion range. He knew orcs had keen senses of smell, and wasn’t sure how well an illusion could mask scents, if at all.

Phor skimmed along the outskirts of the chief’s home, his eyes glued to the events unfolding around it. He was mapping every guard post in the village, but also seeking very specific points of interest: their cooking pots. The sight of the illusory signaling bird indicated it was time to gather back up, so he needed to hurry if he wanted to poison their food and drink.

Titus Armos
Titus was taken aback when he and his guildmates were teleported outside Grimdar. Orcs had already overrun the place and they had begun to set up watchtowers and patrols. One of his guild mates Titus recognized, Vera, she said she was going to the chef's house and that we should form teams, Titus agreed and stepped up saying,
"Vera, I can go with you and back you up"
Excitement began to flood over Titus, this was time for all his years of honing his sword craft to finally be put to the test in a real combat environment. Titus gipped the hilt of his sword and put up his hood, his typical way of preparing himself.

~Silvrian Xolean~
Silvrian offered a roll of the eye and a grunt at the girls bright greeting. She kind of turned her out after that and just stood their blinking at her broadly as she waited for the elf to say something she actually cared about. At the mention of a trial that they would be doing she focused back on the girl. According to the elf they would become 'hall monitors' if they passed. Silvrian narrowed her eyes at the girl and looked at her up and down. If she really woke her up just to pull some sort of stupid joke one her she was going to beat her ass. She was about to slam the door in her face when suddenly she continued.

She explained what their trial was, so at least if this was a joke it was more thought out than she thought it would have been for someone like her. But then something made her let out a sigh and turn glance back into her room. The way the girls smile dropped when she talked about the army made it seem like it wasn't an intentional drop of the smile. Could this girl really be serious about them being hall monitors...? Well, it would explain why the elf came to wake her up. No one really bothered her since she got here and left her to do her own in her room, if they actually were here asking for her it probably wasn't just for some joke. Letting out another sigh as the girl continued on about how good of a fighter they were, blah blah blah. She didn't care for optimism or ass kissers.

She would really like to go back to bed and rest right now, but of course this wasn't something she could skip if she wanted to stay her. Shaking her head with a roll of her eye she turned around and left her door ajar as she entered her room, "Let me get my spear then..." with the door opened it revealed the state of her room. She didn't have much stuff in it, actually nothing in it was hers other than herself, a top(basically a crop top) and a skirt made of furs for when she needs to wash her clothing, and her spear. When she was in the wild she needed nothing else than the clothing on her back and her spear, however she upgraded to having a second pair of clothing when she moved in. People dont take to kindly to you walking around naked as your clothing dries. Her spear was leaning against the left wall, her having no where else to put it.

Silvrian grabbed her spear and returned to the girl. She had no sheath for it and just rested it atop her shoulder as she walked, its weight being nothing to her. She exited her room and shut the door. "You said teleporting right, I assume you know how to do it otherwise they wouldn't have left you here, unless of course your all idiots." She really hoped they weren't all idiots and left her with a dimwit who thought they could do something but actually could not. To be honest she didn't even know much about magic, the people in her tribe did not use magic, the only magic she really ever knew about growing up was the tribes enemies' magic, which was just turning into bears. So she has never really teleported, nor ever dreamed of doing so. She hoped it was worth the hype mages put into learning it, otherwise she'd have another reason to dislike mages.

Dorm pushed deeper into grimdar. He made his way up to a watchtower and grabbed the orc from behind and held his arm tight around his neck until it stopped struggling, and from there he surveyed a group of orcs walking nearby. he could see that they were returning from some sort of break, and he decided to strike. They were walking through, and before they could get far, he launched a knife into one of their backs. He fell to his knees and Dorm slid down the ladder to the tower and ran toward them. He hefted the sword he stole from the last orc and began swinging. They all turned at once, and dorm decided he might have bit off a little more than he could chew, but he was confident he could handle it.

As the red bird climbed in the sky, Magoo noticed Dormus leap from a distant watchtower an vanish behind some buildings. He cursed to himself as he realized he had miscalculated the distance between the towers that ringed the village.
He leaned a few feet around the corner ofnthe building he was pressed against amd cursed again. A tower stood just beyond his view overlooking the pits he had just plunged 3 orcs into.
Standing in the tower were 2 orcs, one of which was staring from the pit containing his impaled comrades to the red bird flitting around above the camp. The orcs face was twisted in an expression that suggested it was thinking harder than it ever had before.
"He is going to raise an alarm once he finishes putting the thoughts together in that mush-brain." Magoo muttered.
He ran to the opposite side of the building nearest the tower, being careful to keep the other Hunters inside his sphere of illusion range, and climbed quietly up the crudely assembled tower.
He had only moments before Vera and Phorcis saw his signal and made their move on the main house.

'No time for subtlety' he thought to himself, 'At least Dormus took out the other tower in range.'

Magoo gripped the edge of the guard rail and hoisted himself over the edge. His left foot caught on the rail and his graceful entrance became a crashing disaster. He tumbled into the orcs and they all scrambled in the small tower before facing off.

Magoo struck, swinging his staff hard knocking the bow from the hands of the one on the right and catching the left orc in the side and knocking him over the railing into one of the spiked pits. Magoo just had time to mask the orc's scream with a burst of mana and blanket the tower with a minor silence illusion and masking the scuffle with two replacement orc illusions before the other lunged at him. Magoo dodged, but tripped again and plowed into the midsection of the orc as its knife just missed his throat. He knocked the orc to the wooden floor but the knife sliced into his left upper arm. The pain and fall caused Magoo to lose a bit of concentration and he felt his active illusions waver for a moment. He wrestled the knife from the orc's grasp and quickly plunged it into his ugly right eye.
The orc spasmed and thrashed just hard enough to knock Magoo over the edge of the tower. He grabed at the wooden beams in vain as he fell but just managed to hook his staff and jerk to a halt mere feet from above a spike pit below.
Magoo swung his legs and cleared the edge of the pit, pinwheeling his arms as he almost fell backwards into the hole.
He dusted his robes and looked up to see a small patrol of orcs rounding the corner, drawn by the commotion of his fall. He cursed again, remembering too late that he had dropped the camouflage illusion on himself to conserve mana during his bout on the tower. The fake orcs still appeared to be standing on the tower, paying no attention to Magoo, which he knew would be a problem. As the head of the patrol took notice of his presence, Magoo twisted a gew fingers and the illusion archers leapt to life and started aiming their illusiory bows at his back.
They would appear to shoot arrows at him and hopefully the orc patrol would be cautious to rush into their barrage.
Magoo gripped his staff in a defensive pose and began to move side to side as if he were dodging the fake arrows and beckoned to the orcs in a taunting manner.
He hoped Vera and Phor were close, he could only take on 2 or 3 at a time in melee combat unless he abolished all of his illusions and refocused his mana. That would expose almost their entire party at the worst time.
Magoo gritted his teeth, expanded the cone of illusiory silence to prevent other patrols from hearing their battle and waited for the orc patrol to make their move, still dodging the fake arrows his faux orcs were raining down at him.

Ayred waited outside the room as Silvrian turned to retrieve her spear. It struck the elf as odd that the woman hadn't packed anything else, but perhaps she didn't it. She guessed that a werebear like that could easily hunt for her own food, just like true bears. Maybe she didn't get cold either, judging by her lack of cloak or any other clothing save the tight-fitting garb she was currently wearing. It looked a little worn by now, patched up here and there from fights. Ayred made a mental note to ask Silvrian if she needed help fixing it later. During her own travels, she had gotten quite good at using mending spells to fix rips and tears...which had nothing to do with the fact that the elf couldn't sew if her life depended on it.

The elf smiled widely at Silvrian's question, "Yep, we're teleporting! Wait, Is this your first time? HA! Its gonna be fun... just don't move too much! Oh, you might want to hold on to your spear!" she said, excitement glittering in her eyes. She closed them for a moment and took a deep breath, sensing where Shiki's mana was. It was pretty far, but it wouldn't be too much of an issue to transport two people.

Even if Silvrian protested, Ayred abruptly grabbed the woman's hand. "Alright let's go in 3...2..."

At the count of one, the floor seemed to drop beneath the two, engulfing them in a lurching feeling. Everywhere the eye could see was flashing darkness and wild stillness, so crushing that it took the wind right out of the lungs. They were between worlds for one moment but no more, for soon there was solid earth beneath their feet. In a poof of multicoloured smoke, they appeared beside Shiki.

Ayred let go of Silvrian's hand, though not of politeness, but out of shock. The grass beneath her feet had been trampled, and as she leaned down to take a handful of dirt she noticed that it was well-mixed with soot. She looked up at the broken trees, either chopped down to their roots or torn apart to be used in the creation of the crude pine structures towering in the distance. It appeared as if they had made camp quickly.

The elf stood up and looked at Shiki. "Wow... they really destroyed this place, huh?" She said dully but shook it off in a wave of bright conviction. "So where are the others? Do we have a plan, o' guild leader?!"

It didn't look like the teleportation had affected her at all, though she could feel a drain in her mana pool. Thankfully she had plenty to spare.

(off-topic note; When Aryed left the guild base her summoned familiar would disappear as well. It would also disappear once Asht found Storm. Whichever event happened first! >w<)

Asht had luckily found Storm before Yiki disappeared. "Meooow"
(hello young warrior, I assume my eccentric master has placed me in the position to train you. We shall start with the basics of handling a weapon, you look like a farm boy... safe to say you have held a bow before so I shall start you with a dagger...)

"Oh hey little guy, you must be storm."
"Meow."
(If you don't understand me in less then a week I'm going to piss where you rest and make you bleed)

"You are cute mister quartermaster"
"ryah"
(you will die slowly at my claws.... if my master had not contracted me and we crossed paths in the wilds? I'd be licking your blood off me)

"I was told to follow you..."
-------------------
As Ayred and Silvrian appeared next to Shiki he quickly filled them in.
"Heyo, no plan from me just some tasks....
kill fifty orcs each, sabotage construction of the orc fort, kill a orc captain or leader, save any captives in Grimdar, you have two days and two nights. I will try to observe each apprentice to make sure no-"

Shiki was interrupted by the distant sound of swords clashing.
"excuse me..."
Juju Juju seasonedcat seasonedcat

Shiki quickly ran towards the noise... what he found.
Dorm had thrown a knife at one orc before rushing five others with a found sword. Sadly he was disarmed rather quickly as the weight of a orc blade isn't suited for actual swordplay, ironic? Bah who knows what words mean.

The orc sword is Sharp sure but not a fine cutting edge like a man made sword. It's more along the lines of a sharpish club in the vague shape of a sword.
Dorm was able to wound two orcs and kill another before the sword was knocked from his hand... The Orc that did it stepped forward quickly to expertly close the distance, before knocking Dorm to the ground with a headbutt that could probably dent iron.

The orc raised his arm for a killing blow, where upon a bolt from a dwarf hook-shot landed in the yellow eye of the green monster. Dropping his axe to the ground to attempt getting a sharp bit of metal from out his face, another bolt pierced his throat and he fell with a strangled gurgle.

The two wounded orcs and last survivor died by Shiki's bolts.
He quickly ran over to retrieve them.
"be smart, a hunter doesn't engage a enemy. They target them, only get within melee range if its needed.
Shiki gave a small bit of advice as he pulled the bolts from throats. Making sure they were straight enough to reuse before flinging some blood off his ammo.
"we have days to... don't think you need to accomplish each task in one night"
With that Shiki moved on to observe and report to others.
TheGuide TheGuide

Moving on he could hear the noise Magoo had caused. A falling orc screams seemed to shoot out of nowhere. Ah, he fell out of Magoo's range of illusions.
Shiki used his hook-shot to climb the tower instantly. The orcs on this tower being illusions was to obvious. They didn't smell terrible at all. Or make noise... But Shiki was able to spot a patrol heading towards the area. They must have heard the orcs fall, or noticed two fake orcs shooting at something...
MindWackMagoo MindWackMagoo

With not much warning Shiki threw a firebomb at the approaching orc riding a wolf before using the hook-shot to reach another tower. To many orcs have high ground for any to sneak properly.
The fire spooked the wolf resulting in the rider killing it. One orc grunt died to fire. Eight orcs on patrol now rushed towards the man who seemed to jump from tower to tower.
Shiki determined it was only a matter of time before the orcs realised intruders were about... in a somewhat brilliant idea Shiki attempted to turn that into a positive. Make the orcs paranoid.... have them search for just one threat instead of many...
He shouted to all of Grimdar as he stabbed up orc archers and shot his hook about to avoid being in one spot for to long.
"orc filth!!"
"I be the hungry spirit of karma! With the farms gone!...I'll have to feast on your death!"

Vera had gotten lost in her own thoughts and before she knew it everyone was gone doing there own thing. The only thing she knew for sure was Magoo used his magic on her which made her eyes roll, but there was nothing she could do about it until she found him or it wore off. Titus ended up being the only one left beside her saying he would help her. "Thank you. If the others want to come they can catch up."

That's when she heard Shiki yelling waking all of Grimdar. She figured it was to help the newbies out and she was going to use it to her advantage. "Take my hand." She took Titus hand in her own and cloaked both of them in a invisibility spell. "Stay quiet and walk light she said. And don't let go of my hand." She entered the forest and despite it being a bit destroyed she could still maneuver around it with ease. She finally kneeled behind a bush and released Titus hand breaking the spell. There were two orcs standing there. To most it looked like they stood on normal ground, but she knew where they stood was a secret passage. With the other orcs focused on other things her and Titus could kill these two and enter the tunnel. She looked at Titus and signaled towards her bow. She then mouthed for him to get ready hoping he knew to attack when she shot. She loaded her arrow and took a deep breath before shooting at the first orcs head.

Titus Armos
Vera thanked Titus for agreeing to go with her, and she grabbed his hand and the two ran up a few feet until they came to behind a bush. A spell of invisibility was over them when the two held hands and it became broken when the two let go. Vera looked at Titus and mouthed that they were going to take out the two orcs that were in front of them. Vera fired and got one of the orcs in the head, Titus drew his sword and got into position to burst forward,
taking a few deep breaths and then charging forward with his sword in hand and easily cutting down the last of the two orcs.

Commotion had erupted throughout the camp as people blew their cover and orcs reacted accordingly. This would work to Phorcis’ advantage. While other orcs were scrambling to hunt a pink-skin, he crept over to a hefty cauldron of foul-smelling human stew and raked the highly-toxic dead spider off the tip of his sword. He then used an arrow to push it deeper into the unappetizing mixture, the weight of the human meat holding it there. By then, the illusion was fading, so he rushed back to the house and waited in the shadows. He glanced in the windows and listened for Vera and Titus to make their moves. Magoo also seemed frazzled and lightly wounded, so Phor beckoned him to inspect the cut and confirm the illusionist was still able to hunt.

Shiki was rather successful in drawing attention to himself. Burning down two towers, killing at least sixteen archers with stabbing or their own crossbows and attracting many orcs to chase him into the forest. From their he hoped to stir the wildlife and pick them off from a distance or stealth to avoid being outnumbered. Especially while regaining his mana...

While many orcs including two captains followed after “the spirit of karma” there was still many who lingered about the territory.

Phor found a large unguarded pot of stew, to the left besides some corpses was barrels of some sort of grog. It was flammable. The smell gave it away... one could hide enough spiders in the pot to poison most of who eat it. The barrels could also be used if enough orcs were gathered around it.
Though vacancy of the cooking/eating area would soon be filled again. One needs to act quickly in times like this... though, this isn’t the only area they cook eat and drink in. The same tactic might work well the first time, but if any survived or witness said sabotage they would likely put more effort into security of resources.

In the Forrest outside of grimdar stood Vera and Titus who had found a tunnel, do they enter before any orcs or allies find them?
MidnightStar MidnightStar Kirby3178 Kirby3178

A ruckus was caused over most of grimdar, a man killing orcs. A orc by the name of Deadeye Ogg was enraged by someone killing his archers. When he rushed off after Shiki Ogg’s rival Jarug the hateful- chased after with his own forces.

The house still had ten orcs guarding it. The two towers closest to said house were now on fire or broken down already, giving the apprentices a way of approaching the house and those being tortured outside it without being shot from above.
A Fox beastkin was being punched and whipped in the open, his hands tied to a post as the orcs beating him shout questions about runaways. A human man is tied to another post next to the fox man. This human is dead though. Another man on the end post is bloodied up but as he is spitting up he is probably alive for now.
Four orcs had fun, three more watched on wanting to join... the other orcs actually guarded the house... walked about the perimeter wondering why shit was on fire and such.

"Okay so a hundred orcs, two captains, break some stuff and free any survivors, got it! Should be a piece of cake!" Ayred said after Shiki ran off, leaving her with the grumpy werebear. It would seem that she had already grouped herself with Silvrian before even asking if she wanted to work alone or not.

The elf crouched down and inched towards the edge of the camp, making sure the two of them were behind some scraggly bushes. From her vantage point, she watched two of the orcish towers catch flame as Shiki finished off the archers and fled into the trees. Two large groups of orcs gave chase, lead by some savage looking orcs that she assumed were their leaders. "Oh hey, there's two captains," Ayred mumbled to Silvrian with a devilish smile. "Pretty easy targets, if you ask me!"

There was also something else she noticed just outside the only remaining human-building; a group of orcs beating a tied up beastkin. The elf frowned. "Wait, nevermind about the captains... we need to help those people first! They look really hurt, but if we deal with the orcs then I can heal them." She took a moment to study the surroundings. There were no more archers around, which meant that they wouldn't have to worry about attacks from above, or anyone alerting the orcs of their approach. They also seemed to be focused on their evil game.

"Ok, Silvrian, what do you think we should do? We can charge in, which sounds awesome but we might get spotted. I can take out a few of them from a distance, but not all. Uh... there's "get help".... ooooh! SPOOKY KILLER FOG! YEAH!" As she spoke, the elf seemed to get more and more excited. "I can obscure their vision in a cloud. They will hardly be able to see each other, so we can walk right up and take em out before they know what's happening. I can even cut the prisoners loose before the fog fades. Hehe, we will be in and out before anyone knows! What do you say, partner?"

Titus Armos
When Titus and Vera had slain the two orcs, Titus noticed a passageway,
"What is this?" Titus thought, perhaps Vera knew that this passage was here, after all she did say that a she knew Grimdar like the back of her hand. Titus waved at Vera to call her over, maybe this tunnel would lead them straight to the chief's house.

As Shiki darted about, igniting towers and bellowing to the orcs, the small patrol approaching Magoo turned as one in surprise.
Magoo hastily dropped his active spells, redirecting some mana to become invisible to the orcs once more. He felt a bit drained. He estimated he had only 35% of his mana reserves left. What was worse, he had lost count of his staff's remaining charge. He knew he had at least 20 minutes left but could not be sure exactly.

His arm throbbed where the orc archer had slashed him as he made his way back toward the shadows near the chief's house. Phorcis appeared nearby, dodging into the same cover Magoo was nearing.

He leaned against the wall of the small building and illuminated his cut using a light illusion on his own eyes. This way he could examine his wound without giving away their position.

The gash was about 4 inches long and an eigth-inch wide and ran along the outside of his left bicep. It was bleeding steadily but did not seem to have done serious damage to muscle or nerves. Magoo grabbed a bit of his robes with his teeth and tore a strip of fabric which he wrapped around his wound tight. He then reached inside his left sleeve and pulled out a tiny vial about the size of his index finger filled with reddish liquid with glowing blue swirls. He pulled the cork with his teeth and drained the potion like a shot.
His face twisted up in disgust as the bittersweet flavor of the concoction coated his mouth and nose, but his arm tingled lightly as his wound coagulated and stopped bleeding. He sighed and glanced at Phor.

"Well that helped a little. I would say I am back to about 80% strength. Mixing in the mana juice lessens the healing properties quite a bit but it saves precious time in a pinch. I have at least 50% mana now."

He peaked around the corner at the guards patroling the chief's house. From this new vantage point, Magoo could now see the prisoners the orcs had strung up for entertainment. 10 in total between them and the house. 7 of them had their backs to their position and were absorbed by the torture of a beaskin, while the other 3 walked the perimeter of the house. Magoo leaned back and glanced at Phor again.

"
Get ready."

Magoo waved his hands and formed a copy of the orc captain he had seen chase off after Shiki. He pushed extra mana into getting the details as perfect as his magic would allow, and directed the illusion to form just inside the view range of the 3 orcs watching the torture near the barrels of grog. Magoo adjusted his left hand to grasp his throat breifly and made a throwing motion toward the illusion.

"YOU THREE USELESS IDIOTS." the illusion seemed to scream and point at the onlooker orcs. "GET OVER HERE AND GUARD THE MAN-STEW AND GROG. THIS IS THE BEST STEW WE EVER MADE AND A DAMN PINK SKIN IS RUNNING ROUND BURNING OUR STUFF. I GO FIND IT AND WE ADD IT TO NEXT BATCH. YOU GUARD THIS BATCH FOR VICTORY FEAST." The illusion turned and ran out ofntheir sight roaring.

OOC: Magoo does not know Ayred and Sylvian are nearby also planning to attack this group. It may help them it may not. He DID notice the poisoning of the stew and the explosive grog earlier.:OOC

Magoo's illusion sadly didn't work. Despite having a dumb name... Dead-eye Ogg would have shot what he deemed a lazy orc to set a example to the others. The orcs wondering about the perimeter ignored the illusion as well, these orcs follow a different leader. Ogg, Jarug, Bubul, not even these three Orcs with a rank could order another leaders forces.
"wonder why captain has us guarding ere anyway"
"I like my meat like my victims, human and raw"

The orcs continue to torture, watch torture, and walk about the perimeter wondering why shit was on fire and why Ogg seems much more nicer considering his towers are on fire.

(To clarify to everyone. Imagine a two story house.... this can be location A

orcs are walking about this house looking for potential intruders.
At the front of the house is three poles dug into the dirt, a foxman is tied to one post, a dead man is on the middle one and a near dying man is tied on the third pole. The three orcs watching torture would be leaning against the house.

The eating area is location B
far enough away from the house that the barrels explosive range wouldn't bother any orcs near location A.
Phor poisoned a pot IN THE canteen/eating area. This is where grog barrels for explosive traps are located.)
