So I was writing something today, and I wanted to change the color of 1 or two words to spice it up a bit. Problem is, when I changed the color, it also changed the color of A BUNCH OF THE TEXT BENEATH IT I DIDN'T HIGHLIGHT TO COLOR CHANGE IN THE FIRST PLACE. I had to go out of my way to change the text color, and that wasn't fun. Is this a bug??

Do you have the Rich Text Editor on? (That's the gear on the far right of the text box buttons. When on, you can use the buttons.) It likes to... "help."

Yes I usually do, but it's never been an issue before. This issue started to occur today when I was writing a longer post.

Was the unhighlighted, color-changed text immediately after the words you'd highlighted, or just some random other stuff?

(I haven't seen this before, so I'm just trying to get a good idea of what happened.)

It was the words itself, the words right after, and all of the words after it, occasionally with a weird gap that is unaffected.

Hmm. That's odd. Can you link the post?

I didn't post the post in question while still saving the color mistakes, sorry.

But I can certainly replicate it.

According to all known laws
of aviation,

there is no way a bee
should be able to fly.

Its wings are too small to get
its fat little body off the ground.

The bee, of course, flies anyway

because bees don't care
what humans think is impossible.

I only highlighted the first word and it did this. No joke. I think the gaps only occur if it's a single word being color changed.

We're looking into it. Apparently this happened to someone else with bold/underline, so it's a thing, we just haven't been able to narrow down the cause yet.

Alright, thanks. I've found a way around it, so I think I can sit tight until it gets fixed.

You know, guys, I have this problem when I copy and paste text split in paragraphs (for example from a WordPad, MSWord, or wikipedia) instead of writing it. What helps is to whether:
a) paste your text, and then select all and place an eraser button on the top left of your reply widget, and then apply formatting;
b) right click and choose 'paste as plain text' instead of 'paste' the copied text, and then apply formatting;
c) paste the text, delete and then reapply manually all the paragraphs, and then apply formatting.

Are you using Firefox? This is an issue that Firefox introduced and the people behind our Forum Software are going to try to patch it as soon as they can. This is not something we can fix our selves, it's messing with me as well now that I've realized it since my main browser is firefox. I can't replicate this on Chrome and neither can they.
