Who has seen the movie 9? For those of you that have, you have yourself a good starting place. This is in the distant future. Technology kept growing and humans, being the egotistical and stupid creatures they are, kept pushing their limits and eventually found a way to create artificial intelligence. At first the application was only for toys, to give them more range of expression and entertain children a bit better, but the military became interested and started experimenting in applications of espionage and used them in place of suicide bombers. The first of these was a giant teddy-bear, given life by way of a partial soul of a high-ranked navy seal to take down another country. After his job was done, he found he had no more use beyond that so he gained a full soul of his own and became self-aware and then his own thoughts began to plague him. He saw how things were being run and came to the conclusion that humans needed governing and to be controlled. This is what started everything. That was when everything changed and humans started to decline. The plushy toys started to gain independence and started to take control and eventually overcame the world, and in a single huge war, won the subjugation of the human race. Then there was peace for a few years but humans don't like to be under thumb, so they have now started a rebellion and are working to get back onto the top of the food chain.

Now, my true question is...... who wants to take on this massive rp with me? Leave a comment below with your favorite animal at the end so that I know you've read everything and will stick with the rp for a while at least. BTW, this is not going to be a simple rp, oh no. This is going to be a detailed, strategical, point-systemed, and very D&D-like rp, so please be in it for the long haul. I understand that life gets in the way but, if you anticipate being unable to post often or at all for a while, please let me know in pm so that we can adjust accordingly. Updates will be a regular thing so that no one gets lost or left behind. So, with all that is out of the way, WHO WANTS TO PLAY!!!!!!

. An rp about a world of stuffed animals that have come to life and enslaved/massacred/harvested the human race. And we play as stuffed animals. Either the resistance, or the new world order.
"Samurai jack" meets "bad teddy" with a little "conkers bad fur day" thrown in. Also comparable to the movie “9”.
A gritty and stylistic world of an animation, with fluff flying action, the intensity of a war flick, and the ability to take the build a bear workshop to a whole new level.
A scientist cracked the secret of the spiritual energy. And was able to animate objects with it.
While everything started out innocently, over the years, something went out of hand.

All the plushies? They are made from the souls of humans.
Some plushies, are more like husks. And are made from the dregs and pieces of souls. They tend to be not as bright and not very powerful. They are plushy cannon fodder and civilians and their workforce army.
Others, we're made from more refined souls, and are more intelligent. These are the plushies like Doffy. They are more special. And can be made either from direct refinement of a human, or if a schmoe plushy happens to "enlighten", their soul growing into something more full.
2 main factions, both playable. Humans and plushies are both playable. The resistance, is composed of humans and rogue plushies who are trying to protect them. The plushy civilization is exclusively plushy, any living humans being used for slave labor or used like cattle.
The resistance wish to end the war and protect humanity. Believing in the goodness of humanity. To end cruel practices against humans and to one day live in harmony between the two. They see human life and human spirit as something of great value and something worth protecting. Something must be done before the human race becomes extinct, plushified, or worse.
The plush civilization wish to end the war and advance the future of plushkind. The human race is primitive and weak, and had their chance. They destroyed the planet and brought this mess on themselves. Plushies are the new apex species on the planet, powerful and long lived, and they had fought hard for their liberation. Never again will they let the human race reign.

Ten years in the future, a European scientist named Dr. Malcolm discovers a way to prove the existence of the soul and spirit. It becomes a massive breakthrough that leads humanity into a new age of discovery. Though unbeknownst to them, it would be shortlived.
At the forefront of this is the now esteemed Dr. Malcolm. Whose continued research leads to even greater discoveries as he attempts to uncover the mysterious properties of spiritual energy. And through his research, with the help of others, came breakthroughs such as learning how to convert spirit energy into a usable and potent energy source.
But a renewable and veritably free energy source was not what excited the world. Dr Malcolm, along with the help of Dr. Roads... the two of them discovered a way to use this athereal energy to bring life to inanimate objects.
Not just moving them, but objects that could think and react and even learn. An unprecedented discovery that should have been impossible by all means.
All of this in span of just a few years. It was incredible. Unbelievable. And was highly coveted.
It started innocently enough. Using it to move things back and forth. Much like primitive robots, they were more novel than useful. But as the two drs refined their methods, even more incredible things became the result.
But while Malcolm and Roads created this method, they weren't the only ones to use it. Civilian industries got their hands on it to try and make use of it for toys and work. And it was inevitable that the military would try and find uses for it. And the combined work lead to more advanced constructs.
Despite objections from Malcolm, Dr. Roads took the research to the European military, became a private contractor for them. Wanting Roads and Malcolm to make something even better.
Roads was thrilled, but Malcolm was becoming ever more skeptical the more advanced these humonculi were becoming. They were becoming commonplace. And he was worried that not enough was known about the energy that animated them. He worried that they could easily go too far.
Within the next few years, things did go too far. These humonculi were becoming even more like human beings and less like mindless dolls. While it was written off as artificial intelligence by many, the ever wary Dr. Malcolm disagreed. There was something genuine to all of it.
To further spark worry, Dr. Roads was becoming increasingly distant. Even going so far as to keep secrets and outright lie.
Malcolm was eventually booted from the project for raising too many objections, but he did not stop trying to learn more about this.
It wasn't long before yet another war broke out. But this would be the first one where the humonculi were used. And they proved surprisingly effective. Albeit expensive. Making special bodies costed too much, self animated robots were effective! But they were not a sustainable source for masses of soldiers. And we're still limited in movement.
Surprisingly, it was the toy company that they got the answer from. Stuffed animals. The soft and pliant bodies moved excessively well, they were cheap to produce, and the odd effects of being attuned with spirit energy made it actually worthwhile. The humonculi could be tough, and could even heal or learn to repair themselves if too much damage was sustained. They were even capable of feats of strength that they shouldn't be able to have.
While the military was not entirely convinced, Dr. Roads was already preparing something that would change their mind.
Back on the homefront, Dr. Malcolm studied by himself. With minimal support from universities. He shut himself away. While outside his windows, it was becoming popular to protest humonculi rights. But then again, even though they had no rights and weren't treated very well... they didn't exactly complain about it.
It was minor. But things started changing at the height of the war. The creation of Dr Roads was sent to the front lines. And while the details of the battle was obscured. It was indeed a massive victory. The enemy had been overrun with stuffed humonculi and pushed back.
This humonculi army pushed forward, and only seemed to grow in number. Generated from Roads creations.
Yet, across the world, some people were beginning to grow distasteful of the idea that these humonculi were being used as instruments. That they were actually killing people.
Protests grew, and debates sparked over who was right and wrong. What should be done. And if anything.
It came out of nowhere, however, the first death caused by a humonculi outside of a war order.
It was in Canada. Then again in South asia. Another incident in India. Another in Mexico. And the states. And britain. There was no real pattern. Protesters began pushing the humonculi to strike back. Cheering them on. Other protests wanted to destroy them.
While it started with only a handful, In a few short months, it escalated exponentially. In just about every country, there was chaos due to out of control humonculi.
But more than this, there was a notable change in the way they behaved. They truly were learning. They were awakening. And they were attacking.
Dr. Roads had went missing. As did Dr. Malcolm. This didn't matter as much, as most countries were confident that they could handle the humonculi. They clearly underestimated them.
There are not a lot of details at this point in history. There was a lot of confusion as the reign of earth shifted hands. No one could have expected the humonculi to act as they did. To gain sentience as they did. Almost like it was an orchestrated attack.
Twenty years later, the civilization is not even as shadow of what it was. Cities consist of stuffed, living happily and building things back up. As others work to farm humanity, and search out the wild ones. To feed them, to use for energy, slave labor, or worse "to convert them to their cause". Whatever the case, humans tend to meet an eventual brutal end if captured.
