Multiple Settings Looking for Roleplay Partner(s)

M Joc Casl

I gazed into the Abyss, and it blinked first!
Looking for some people who would like to setup a Character Driven RP. Not looking for romance based unless it comes naturally to the storyline. I like to have a couple people that I have chemistry with to just go forth and adventure or plot or seek and destroy.

Larger groups tend to be about people one upping each other and the story coming a distant second. I want characters that know their limits and push through them as long as it fits the story as a whole.

Any settings that your interested in particular? Ex. Modern Fantasy, Schools, Fandoms, etc. For that matter any particular character dynamics your interested in?

Best friends on a road trip for example, or a divorced couple learning to navigate being friends.

I'm one to set very specific limits for characters and what they can and can't do, both physically and mentally.

And I do care a lot of plot and character arches, ones that carry over and have consequences.

I also tend to play with the concepts of transhumanism, but not in the stupid identity way.

rae2nerdy rae2nerdy I'm open to anything. I typically have done fantasy and fandom in the past but I am willing to try realistic. I am currently I'm an RP through PM's with 2 other people and we are students at a school for magic (a lot more to it but that's the gist). None of is knew each other and we are different from all the other students.

I do enjoy strangers having to figure each other out or long last friends/family that have to come to terms with the person the other has become. But again, open to anything.

Zeev Zeev I definitely appreciate that. When I do a fandom, I try to make a balanced character for that world. One that fits in the established frame of the story. Nothing wrong with going super powered and inventive, I'm just always worried I'll go to far. Usually I end up not going far enough and have a weakling lol.

No matter what the characters can or can't do, they have worth in a story. A weak character can win if that is what the story calls for. So many people are worried about have the strongest quirkiest and then it's a race for the spotlight. Also with small groups there are less chances for cliques to form.

I don't really do fandom, I can of write my own thing and world, (which is set in the post modern day.) but yeah I'd agree to a point, I think it needs to be still logical for the weaker character to beat someone stronger, so they can't just do it cause the plot allows them, there needs to be a plan or an outplay or outwit of the enemy.

I have an archive of characters I've written of all types (not a complete list of ones I've made but I'm working on it.) so if you want to see that I send a link.

Yeah, I was just using that as a point that there's no point in trying to make the strongest character when a story can turn the tables. Always better to have a well fleshed out character.

So what exactly are you looking for in terms of RP? or just a competent with a good background in themes and ideas?

Simply people who are as interested in telling a good story. If you have ideas who are looking for people to join in on I'm down, or if you want to brainstorm I'm with you on that too.

Hey there! I saw you mentioned you're willing to try a realistic RP. I do have a plot in mind and I'm open to sharing if you'd like to hear it? It's a fairly rough plot, so it's very open for alterations.
